My husband ordered a plain stack of pancakes and said they were really good. I told him it's a pancake place so they better be good...lol. He ordered sausage patties and eggs over easy on the side, which he also enjoyed. I'm gluten free and there was not a pancake option for me, which was disappointing. We were originally going to another restaurant in the area and I was looking forward to their gf pancakes but they were closed. I had the all meat omelette which had a ton of meat in it and cheesy grits which were good too. My order also came with a slice of Texas toast which I handed off to my husband. I was freezing on a Monday morning so you may want to bring a sweater or jacket. Our waitress of friendly and efficient. Pancakes were good, light and fluffy - good size - nothing to write home about, have definitely had better ones. The name is a little misleading if you like pancakes as they are just average. My wife and I were in Destin for vacation and decided to do brunch at The Pancakery. My wife loves a fight of anything, so when she saw a flight of Mimosas, she had to try them. Heads up warning. The flight of Mimosas are not samples of various flavors, they are full sized Mimosas. I had to help her drink them, since that four is a lot to drink. I liked the cranberry and she liked the mango. My wife had the crepes (see photo) and I had the chorizo burrito. She loved the crepes. My burrito was good, but it really needed a big side of salsa. Terrible service and the "doubled" baked potato was lacking big time. We have been multiple times and never had an issue with service or food before . We ordered a baked potato which was good size but very little toppings and the price was 11.99. Never paid that for a baked potato and wont again. They wanted to charge for extra sour cream as well even though they didnt put any on my potato to begin with. We've been coming here since they first opened and I'm thrilled for the owner's success as we've watched them grow! I had one of the best omelettes ever at The Pancakery. I had the Grilled Shrimp omelette with a side of pancakes The shrimp was so well seasoned and the omelette had so much flavor! Last week we stopped at the Pancakery so I could get my blueberry pancakes. The pancakes were light and the blueberry compote was sweet and the blueberry juice would sink into the pancakes. I ate every single bite. Because it was so good we stopped by Saturday and had a much different experience. The pancakes were heavy, and the blueberry compote was gelled. By this, I mean, it was so thick I had a to cut it with a knife. I mentioned this to the waitress that they needed to add more sugar and water to the compote and she just looked at me and walked away. She never went back to the kitchen. The host needs a new position. I think we were in the restaurant for 15 seconds total and the host could not have been ruder. We walked in and he IMMEDIATELY looked annoyed that we were there. While on vacay in Destin, we went shopping at the mega gift shop next door and spotted this place on the way out. The name was catchy, so I made a mental note to come here the next day for breakfast. It was during Spring Break so the place was packed but the wait time was very reasonable. The staff was friendly and had us in and out of there in no time. How can anyone come here and not get atleast one pancake dish? It's in the name! It's not just your everyday, run of the mill buttermilk pancakes (which they do have), but they also have different batter and topping options as well. The Strawberry Fields was calling my name and a great choice it was. First off, the serving size is crazy. It can easily be shared between two or three people depending on how hungry you are. The strawberry compote on top wasn't overly sweet like I expected to be, but was a perfect pairing with the fluffy pancakes. I added a side of sausage and eggs which was kind of spendy in my book. I feel like it should be a combo option or something. The Chocolatier was a little overly indulgent and more of a dessert to me. Delicious though. A nice bite to contrast the sweet pancakes was the Atomic Bomblette. It was a spicy omelet filled with hot sausage, jalapeños, peppers, onions and mushrooms. The name was fitting because not only was it spicy, but it was a flavor bomb too. I'm always going to pick savory over sweet.
