Cafe Bombon (sweet Spanish coffee drink, condensed milk and espresso)
    Erin C.

The cutest outdoor beach-side cafe, turned Tiki bar in the afternoon/evening. We stopped by on a Saturday morning to find coffee and were delighted by the selection on the menu. We tried the Café Bombón, which was explained to us as a Spanish coffee drink with equal parts espresso and condensed milk, served in a clear glass to see the layers. We ordered that and it was a little art treat for our eyes, and taste buds. The oat milk lattes were also on point and up to standards - will be back for more. It seems the upstairs tiki bar is hopping later in the day while passing by. We will return to discover more of this cafe/bar. The owner came out to chat with us and gave us plenty of local recommendations which we highly appreciated. It was refreshing to chat to locals who are welcoming to newcomers.

When you are in Miramar Beach there is a nice paved path that runs for miles just north of the ocean. When we are in town for vacation my wife and I like to always run on this path early in the morning. We would always pass a nice looking breakfast spot on our runs to the East. The last time we were in town we finally decided to just end our run at the spot and then walk back to the condo after breakfast. Sandos is a newer spot with a great location. It is definitely more of a breakfast place although it is open through an early dinner (~6ish). It isn't a standard restaurant, as there isn't really an "inside." Instead there is a counter with some stools and then open seating on the main floor and rooftop seating. There was a good crowd each morning we passed by but nothing crazy. We both ordered breakfast sandwiches and my wife got a coffee. My wife liked her coffee, but both of us were very underwhelmed by the breakfast sandwiches. Well they weren't sandwiches, more like pastries with egg and sausage? They were very small, and we were still hungry after eating them. So overall this is a great location, it is a nicely maintained restaurant, and the outdoor seating gives it a good vibe. It is somewhere I'd feel comfortable stopping in at if I was in the immediate location, but there are several other breakfast spots I like more that sit along Scenic Gulf Drive.

We decided to try out this spot around 7:30am on a Saturday in April. It wasn't too crowded. The staff was friendly and helpful. We got some food and iced lattes. It was very delicious. We can't wait to go back! Plenty of seating too and a parking lot behind the building.

Mai Tai, Blackbeard Revenge and Captains Orders. All great!!

Gotta love local!!!…read more Got some pizza here on a week day during our Fl summer vaca b/c we were looking for something locally owened. Got the hawaiian, pepperoni and cheesy bread. All super good! Crust was a thin crust, not too paper thin though, so a nice in between of thin and regular. The cheesy bread was SOOOO good! The cheese on the bread was nice and thick and gooey! A+++ on the cheese bread in my opinion. Great helping of cheese. So if you just want cheesy bread that's light or mid on the cheese I would recommend clarifying your preference b/c they're serious about the CHEESE part of the bread! Called ahead to see what the busiest times are and typical wait times, b/c wasn't sure if we should order assuming longer wait times or if we should wait to order until closer to being ready to be hungry enough for everyone to eat. Called and the gal on the phone was SOOO nice and friendly, advised week day order before 5pm and will be ready within 30 mins. Advised we'll order before 5 and will probably put order online and she asked for my name and advised she'll keep an eye for my name to come through, which I thought was just an extra step of nice courtesy that I wasn't expecting and just thought that was so thoughtful! Was about $90 for two big pizzas and the cheesy bread, but SO worth it. The pizzas were also BIG! So was very happy with the portion sizes. Happy to spend this money for the quality and supporting local owned establishments that put out quality product! I would recommend purchasing here over other franchised chains.

One can find a good variety of cuisines here. You can get American food (burgers, sandwiches), Jamaican food, Middle-Eastern food, Thai food, ice cream, etc. On my visit to this food hall, my family and I got Jamaican and Thai food for lunch. I don't remember the names of the restaurants from where we ordered the food, but I got Jamaican Jerk Pork and beef puff pastry from the Jamaican restaurant, and my wife ordered Thai Fried Rice, dumplings, and a noodles dish from the Thai restaurant. I also got a pint of a local beer from the bar. The food and beer were fresh, flavorful, and good in taste. The portion sizes were good as well. The pricing was high at all the food stands, but that is expected given the food hall setting and Destin being a tourist destination. We had a good time. We enjoyed our meal. I definitely recommend checking out this food hall when visiting Destin.

I am a fan of a food hall because of the options. Everyone can try what they want and it also give you the chance to try multiple things. Which is what my family and I did. I had the spring rolls, drunken noodles ( which is not pictured) and the brisket taco. My family had the other items and said they were good. I loved the spring rolls! The drunken noodles had a little spicy to it even though I got the lowest spice level. But they were good as well. I look forward to going back when we travel again.

We visited The Local Market because we kept hearing they had "the best Cuban in Destin." After…read moreeating there, I honestly do not understand the hype at all. First off, this is not a real Cuban sandwich. The bread was completely wrong. Real Cuban bread, especially if you've ever had one from Ybor City in Tampa, has a very specific texture and press. I even explained before ordering that I only wanted the outside pressed and toasted, while the inside stays cool. That's how an authentic Cuban is made. Instead, they brought out a sandwich that was heated completely through. The meat, cheese, everything inside was hot. It completely ruined the sandwich. When I politely asked about it, the employee seemed irritated and had an attitude about remaking it. They eventually brought another one out, but honestly it still was not good. The bread tasted wrong and the sandwich itself just wasn't enjoyable. It got worse from there. My grandson ordered chicken tenders and fries. The tenders were bad, and the fries tasted like old grease that should have been changed hours earlier. My wife ordered a shredded chicken and cheese sandwich that honestly smelled questionable, like the chicken may have been turning. The final straw was the fruit cup having visible mold growing in it. At that point we lost our appetite and decided to leave. Very disappointing experience overall. Poor food quality, bad execution, and not worth the money. We will not be returning.
