As a conservative Christian family, that's not a conversation we expected to have over dinner while on vacation. Definitely a conversation that would have been far easier to explain at Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey I believe everyone should be treated with respect, but I also believe families have different values. For us, it made what should have been a relaxing family meal uncomfortable. Because of that, we'll likely choose to dine elsewhere in the future.

My husband had the shrimp and grits and it was some of the best shrimp and grits he's ever had. It was seasoned really well. That being said, they don't own their parking lot and you have to pay at least $13 for parking. The service was not great. We were with a group and they forgot 2 of our meals and also forgot our drinks from the bar a few times. I'm glad that we tried it and really enjoyed the food, but, based on the experience, I'm not sure if we'll be back. They also charge an automatic 20% gratuity no matter what the group size is. Not that big of a deal, but just good to know.

The setting itself feels authentic too as many Mediterranean restaurants feel like you're in someone's home. First The Menu Bait-and-Switch Their website menu and a customer-posted menu are identical both promise pita bread and tzatziki with entrees. We ordered based on that. When we called after getting home asking where these items were, they claimed it was "an old menu posted by a customer." Except their website/menu online says the same thing. Either fix your menus or stop lying to customers. The Portions were pathetic when told they were good sized and oh man the food was Flavorless! For $79 + tip, we got portions embarrassingly small. The grape leaves? Cold, wet, and bland could barely eat three. The rice was lifeless. The $37 "Fish of the Day" tilapia had ZERO flavor and no lemon even basic Mediterranean cooking demands lemon. The $30 salmon kabob was mediocre-sized and barely filling. Everything tasted like it was prepared with zero seasoning and zero effort and no soul. We had to season our own food at home. Our server was too busy with personal conversations to help properly. When handing us our to-go food, she literally said, "I didn't put gratuity on there but you guys can if you want" like she was doing us a favor by separating the hot items from the cold. We tipped anyway because we're good Samaritans when it comes to eating out. When we complained by phone, the response was hollow: "I'll let the Owner know to fix it" the only positive thing: Location is easy to find. That's literally it. The building is rundown, interior cramped with tables crammed together, decor is mediocre at best. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Better Mediterranean restaurants exist all over Destin. This is a cautionary tale of poor execution, dishonest practices, and staff that clearly doesn't care. 1/5 Stars - Never returning.

The location and atmosphere are fantastic, but the kitchen simply didn't deliver. The Fried Green Tomatoes lacked the crisp texture you'd expect from such a classic appetizer. My daughter's 8 oz. filet had virtually no seasoning and tasted surprisingly bland, especially considering the price. I ordered the Wedge Salad with fried chicken, and the chicken suffered from the exact same issue--it was nothing more than fried protein with absolutely no flavor. The biggest letdown, however, was the salad dressing. At this price point, I expect a restaurant to serve a fresh, house-made dressing. Instead, it tasted like something poured straight from a jar. A great wedge salad deserves a dressing that complements it, not one that feels like an afterthought. Harry T's certainly has the views and the location, but great scenery can't make up for under-seasoned food and shortcuts in the kitchen. There are too many excellent restaurants in Destin to settle for an average meal. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you're hoping for food that matches the price tag.

Our waiter was super friendly and they were very accommodating with getting a car seat chair for our newborn so he could enjoy dinner with us. He was also very attentive, easily explained the menu to us, answered any questions we had, and was very prompt at helping us with anything we'd needed. The food was phenomenal, presented very well, and tasted amazing. We had ordered the red fish (special for the day) and ended up getting key lime pie for dessert and we were not disappointed one bit. This is a pricey restaurant, $50 +\- per person, but you definitely get your money's worth with what you get. Overall, this is a great restaurant to go to for celebrations, date nights, special occasions, or just for that fine dining feeling. There's no dress code, but I'd personally recommend wearing your Sundays best (I'd wore leggings and a T-shirt and just felt underdressed). The restaurant was very family friendly so I loved that aspect. Definitely will be coming back to try more items from the menu!

I got the Daily Special (which was a Red Snapper stuffed with crab) and was great. I also tried the Destin Snapper, the Crab Cakes, and some of the Seafood Gumbo. All of which were very good. The Daily Special was my favorite. We had a larger group and did not have to wait at 7:00. The setting was great. Outdoor seating is along a bay, a great spot to view the sun setting. It does get hot out there if you go too early, we were there in July. Parking is extremely limited and they do have valet ($9 as of 7/2026). The line for the valet was very long. We got lucky to find a parking spot, but plan on waiting for parking in one way or another.

The service was fast, and the prices were very affordable, especially for the quality of the food. The restaurant is also right on the bay, which made for a beautiful view while we ate. I ordered the stuffed shrimp, and it was absolutely delicious. It came out piping hot, and the sauces served with it were amazing and added even more flavor. Everyone in my group really enjoyed their meals. A fun detail is that the Destin family and the city of Destin have been closely connected ever since Leonard Destin, Dewey's great-great-grandfather, founded the settlement in 1835. Our server recommended the sheepshead, a local fish species. Until then, I had never even heard of sheepshead, which made the recommendation all the more interesting. We always appreciate tips like that, as trying something new is part of the fun of traveling. It tasted very good, although it was topped with teriyaki sauce and served with remoulade sauce. As a result, you don't really get much of the fish's natural flavor, but as a dish it was very enjoyable. The service was friendly and efficient, and we liked the place so much that we'll definitely be back. It helps that we also find the history behind it fascinating. The menu is quite varied, with plenty of dishes that sound tempting.
