Worst mexican food ever. Bland. Employees not especially friendly. We left and walked by some food trucks that looked so much better.

Sweet corn. We had 2vhugh bowls of chips and salsa from the salsa bar. That was very cool. Very good place. Lots of choices. I think you will enjoy. I would return for sure.

Dat Burrito had good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is in a busy shopping center in the heart of Destin. It is just north of 98 and west of the 293 bringing you over the bridge. You are going to be near this location at some point in your vacation so keep it on your radar. You do have to be actively looking for it as it is a pretty unassuming building. The food is a mixture of standard Mexican fare (e.g. tacos, burritos etc.). You can eat in store, or get it to take away. There isn't much ambiance, so this is definitely more of a "to go" type place. I would note there is a great toppings bar in the store that you should take advantage of even if you are getting a to go order. We have loved everything we have ordered, so there isn't any way you can go wrong. The prices are very good for the portion size as well.

First of all the spot is kinda hidden from all the main streets which are usually the best tacos spots, the little "hole in the wall" spots, but it wasn't. I was planning to send my wife and her friends for the tacos while the boys stay playing cards, we ended up going and it's a good thing we did. As soon as we get there there is a few men standing outside like 4 and they are drinking it up. I jumped out the truck and they straight up stared at me. Not a good sign off a female was by herself. Ok so I went inside and right off the bat another 6 men playing pool and drinking heavy. Hmmm.. nobody manning the taco shop on the inside and only one employee in the cash register with a line of a few people getting chips and house supplies. So then I thought what in the world kind of establishment is this??! So the lady said that there was no one to man the taco shop so I said why does it say open on google. I just left and I don't recommend going at night or let alone go by yourself or as a woman.

Gringos are not the typical client but doesn't bother me, I enjoy being a bit confused and enjoying some authentic food, this is not a typical Mexican restaurant, more of a basic food truck menu, simple, quick and tasty. I tried the carnitas tacos and my wife had a strak quesadilla, bottle of water and a canned lemonade drink. I loved the food and vibe, my wife not so much but we left with full stomachs and a light bill. Have fun and try this out, real community feel, no frills but authentic high quality chow. Recommend and I will return!

The space has a cool indoor/outdoor setup, and the night we went they had live music, which made the whole place feel really lively. We sat inside but could still enjoy the music while catching some basketball games. The menu leans Mediterranean and everything looked incredible. We started with the tzatziki, shrimp wonton rolls, and potstickers. All three were great, but the shrimp wonton rolls were my favorite. For my main, I ordered the grilled shrimp pita (loaded with shrimp) with fries--definitely hit the spot. Around the table we also had burgers, a Mediterranean bowl, and pork belly tacos, and everyone loved their meals. We were so full we didn't even make it to dessert. Overall, great vibe, great food, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out--just plan on taking an Uber or Lyft since parking is limited.

We had the burger, a patty melt, and blackened shrimp along with the cheese curd and taziki appetizers which were so good that we had them eaten before I even had time to get a photo. This was our first time at The Harbor Tavern but it will not be our last, we will be Mali this a regular dinner destination.

We chose to sit outside, and while the service was great, the food was even better. For starters, I had the orange margarita (recommended by our waiter), and wow, it was delicious. I've never had one quite like it. For my entrée, I ordered a mix of three tacos, and each one was packed with flavor. The only downside was the number of tiny flies outside, they kept finding their way into my drink. Not sure if that's typical, but I'd probably opt to sit inside next time because of it. That said, the food and overall experience were really great, and I'd definitely recommend checking this place out!

We stood there for a while trying to figure out if we needed to seat ourselves or if we should wait on somebody. We were finally noticed and directed to a table. After being seated they brought us chips and salsa. For the most part, I love chips at a Mexican restaurant! They're always so thin and crispy and taste fresh. I guess you can go wrong in some instances, but these were PERFECT! Thin, crisp, and salted. And the salsa was just right. It wasn't too spicy. I ended up ordering the quesadilla and my partner ordered a combination plate. Her combination plate had a tamale that she didn't want so I took it. I can say that the tamale tasted like it came out of a can. It was not authentic at all. I can't go wrong with the quesadilla that's pretty much my go-to. She really enjoys her tacos and she said they were pretty good. Overall the food was okay.
