We'd been traveling since the wee hours of the morning. Landed in Pensacola and made our way to Fort Walton Beach and we were hungry bordering on hangry. We found Burrito del Sol and Yelp and thought a hearty burrito might be just the thing. Yahtzee. This spot serves up pure deliciousness. I got a southwest style burrito with tempeh and it was wonderful. The tempeh was flavorful and I love that they have burrito styles to choose from. The southwest style did not disappoint. It came with tortilla chips and salsa and the burrito itself was ample without being overwhelming. It looks unassuming from the outside but is cute and squeaky clean inside. The prices were reasonable and the service was friendly. Get to it!
Delicious!! I had a vegetarian option (it could be vegan with a different sauce) and it was sooo yummy. The tempeh was prepared to make is actually taste good, with a slightly sweet/caramelized flavor. It was served with a side of chips and salsa. The vibe was casual and colorful. Service was great, the cashier helped me understand my choices and the ordering process. The only thing that could make it better would be if the food were a little spicier. The salsa was not spicy at all, and the chipotle sauce was like 1.5/10. Flavors were tasty though. I would definitely return. My husband and I each got burritos and we ate for $27.
I had the Baja Shrimp Tacos and I was a little disappointed that the tacos didn't really seem like they had enough "stuff" in them. I was expecting a lot of cheese, lettuce, salsa and stuff but it was really lacking. The flavor of the shrimp was good but I was still hungry when I was done (I doubt they would fill a grown man). I visited on a Wednesday during lunch and they were really busy and took 10 minutes to place my order and then another 25 minutes for my food. The place and tables didn't seem too clean and normally I would give a place like this a pass, BUT it cost $25 for a drink with 3 tacos and a few chips. The bar wasn't open until 4pm so I didn't get anything from there. Seems like an okay spot for lunch, BUT I wouldn't go here for dinner.
Food Steak Taco (Baja style)--9/10; it's like a party in my mouth. Steak Taco (Chipotle)--8/10 Steak Taco (Southwest)--7/10; this reminded me of Taco Bell flavors; nothing to write home about. Chicken Quesadilla (Baja style)--10/10 Queso and chips--9/10; delicious! Queso was creamy and salty, and the chips were fresh and seasoned. Ambience It's got that dive bar feel, but it's clean. Service You order at the counter and have a seat. They give you a number and bring your order to you. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and made great recommendations.
This is a great quick service Mexican option in Ft. Walton! The burrito was made to order and each bite was super fresh. It was not greasy at all and I really enjoyed it! The queso was sooo delicious too! We went on a Wednesday where you can get queso in your burrito for free as well. They serve the burrito with chips and salsa, but I thought the salsa was bland. The inside has plenty of seating, and doesn't have too much of a fast food vibe. The service was fast!
I went to Burrito Del Sol after a very long day. I came in and was able to quickly order my food. What I noticed is that with the menu you can order either Taco, Burrito, Nachos, or Quesadillas and have them in Baja, Chipotle, Southwest, or BBQ Style. I decided to get the Steak Burrito in BBQ Style. The steak in the burrito was really good and juicy. The Problem with the burrito is that it didn't feel like a true BBQ style. I feel like if they added some BBQ sauce and more cheese it could have helped the burrito a lot.
Burrito Del sol was recommended by a few residents from Destin. I am so thrilled I listened. The food, service, and atmosphere at this restaurant was consistent with their reviews. I ordered a kids' shrimp quesadilla, prepared extra crispy, and the order was perfect. My daughter enjoyed every bite, and the portion size for the kids' meal was quite generous. The tacos were very flavorful. However, the taco salad with ground beef was the standout item on the menu that I highly recommend. The crust of the shell was fried to perfection. Despite occasional busy periods, the service remains attentive, and the food is always served hot, fresh, and beyond expectations. This establishment continues to impress with its quality and consistency.
I had high expectations since this was recommended by a local. The ambiance was great. This place had a cool vibe and cool T shirts for sale. My steak tacos were solid and I would order them again. Chips and salsa were mediocre at best. Salsa lacked flavor and heat. The classic margarita was also a big disappointment, especially served in a plastic cup. My main reason for going was for the tacos and they were delicious. Overall, I would go back but I won't bother with the margaritas next time.
Went to Burrito del Sol on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm. It was packed. There were just two of us, and nowhere to sit. We got our order to go, but a seat opened up while we waited. We both orders the shrimp and bacon taco special. They were very tasty! The portions were more than enough for lunch. The rest of the menu seemed pretty good. The service was great. There's a bar attached, which seemed to have a pretty good vibe. We will definitely be back to try some other choices!

We're back! Burrito del Sol is our FWB go-to, but we were a little ways away and looking for dinner. Found someplace that turned out to be nearby Burrito del Sol...went in to look at the menu - and the waitress overheard us mention Burrito del Sol - and she told us to just go there, it's better! And...as usual, it was fantastic. Steak Burritos and shrimp tacos can't be beat. Great staff as always. read more

We were planning to play darts at Salty Duck, and also needed to stop for dinner. Burrito Del Sol was right next door, so we decided to stop in. We went to the bar area which was very festive. I loved the decorations, and the bartender was friendly. My husband and I decided to split the baja burrito which came with a side of chips and salsa. It was plenty for both of us. The burrito was good. I didn't order a meat, and would have preferred more black beans and less slaw, butbit was still really good. Also, there is a nice grassy area behind the restaurant. Perfect for kids to run around. read more

While on my family vacation in the Destin and fort Walton area we stopped in this burrito de sol location that is on the fort walton part of the state. We had just left the gulfaquarium and wanted some Mexican for lunch and heard good things about This place so we drove over. Place has some really cool decor inside and has pretty large and spacious seating. Upon walking up you have three lists of options. Which is basically what entree you want, what meat you want and the sauce you want. You place your order and they give you a table number and they bring the food out to you. They have have fountain sodas for you to self save your own drinks. I personally went with a chicken quesadilla and it was really good. Nice cheese flavor and chicken was tasty. Highly satisfied with the quesadilla. I also got some loaded beef nachos to share with the kids and they were solid. Chips nice and soft but the beef was just ok and they were shady with the queso big time. My younger kids got a cheese roll up which hyped them up because Taco Bell has cheese roll ups and that's the only place they have seen those before. They we're more like cheese quesadills. The kids said they were ok. My oldest got a chicken burrito and the wife got a chicken taco salad. Both seemed satisfied with there meal. Overall I enjoyed our trip here. Different vibe from other places in fort walton and Destin. Not seafood and a bit cheaper. Not a fancy place by any means as you aren't waited on but I don't need that everywhere I go. Was a nice relaxing vibe here and I enjoyed it. Would recommend if you enjoy median places qdoba or chipotle. Similar styles. read more

I had the Burrito with blackened shrimp, Baja style. My wife had the taco salad with chicken southwest style. Both were delicious! You order then take a seat. The bar is connected & you can order food from that side as well. Worth another try- we will be back. read more
Great presentation & service. I ordered the grilled shrimp taco salad to go without cheese. The cashier quickly realized dairy is no-go territory for me, and helped by removing any dairy products in the order! Truly going the extra mile in service. The taco shell is basically a fried wanton skin, so it's crispy at first and will get soggy over time. The salad could do some balancing between its red cabbage & rice&beans, but overall the ingredients were fresh and made to order. Definitely will try other entrees on my next visit! read more

Yummy! So glad I found out about this place before heading down for vacation. I had the shrimp taco salad Baja style with 1/2 romaine lettuce with 1/2 the purple cabbage and a side of corn and bbq sauce so almost a combination of the Baja and bbq style! So delicious!!! Everything was made fresh and I loved the chips and guacamole. My husband had the steak quesadilla and no complaints from him. Their red salsa is also great! A lovely local chain of delicious quick burritos, tacos, salads and quesadillas. Would go back if I had more time but if I return for sure! read more

Always so good!!!! You pick your choice of meat or no meat, how you want it, and a style. I got Shrimp Tacos Baja style. Served with chips and salsa. The Baja style is a little spicy but the pineapple salsa really brings it together. It actually had a signed taped saying peanuts were being used today (for their special). We didn't think anything of it but after we ordered mentioned we have a peanut allergy for a child. The worker came out to the table and said that she was going to remake the kids meal to be safe. That they were going to change all their gloves and make sure it was clean. We truly appreciate this. read more
Wish we found this place sooner! We've been coming to Okaloosa Island for years but had only tried the Destin location. This one is much much better. The menu has a lot to offer and everything sounds delicious - we will have to come back to try more. The food is very fresh and the portions are decent. I love the different flavors of meats and toppings you have to choose from and they have specialty limited edition items that change often. You can also customize your order if you don't want one of the preselected flavors! read more

For our last night in Florida, we decided, last minute, to try Burrito Del Sol and our expectations were exceeded! The fast- causal (ordering at the front & being served our food), chill environment made it easy for our party of 8 to order & receive food quickly. Each person ordered something different & the consensus was unanimous in being very impressed with the quality, taste, and price. "That was awesome" "Great service" "So delicious" Personally, I found the seafood was absolutely phenomenal! Members of our party even stated that when they stay in San Rosa (45 minutes away), they will make the drive to come back. You will not be disappointed! read more
Great little mom and pop Mexican restaurant in Fort Walton Beach. Burritos are excellent! Pick your protein, toppings, hot sauce. I got the Carnitas burrito, tender, juicy pork, Baja style, rice, black beans, onions, guacamole, really good! A side of house Mango hot sauce, a side of chips, a great lunch was had! read more
