Great cheap food! HOWEVER, horribly awful customer service. I've never been to a place with such rude employees. My 14 year old son asked "do you have quesadillas?!" Rudely the cashier snapped back "nope" then he asked "chimichanga?" She snapped again "nope!"... I left it alone but when a lady came in to give her order and the same cashier looked up at her and stated snarkely "I can only write so fast." I was over it... They also don't wear gloves. Unbelievable, they only accept debit or cash? No credit card, and they don't even have a chip reader so if the strip on your card is even alittle messed up it won't work. And then they just very rudely say you're gonna have to go get cash or something. Get up with the times! read more

Gosh I hate bad reviews but here goes. I have been getting food Taco Town in Niceville for over 20 years & never ever had a employee treat me the way I was treated today. I placed a order via phone for a taco salad. When I went to pick up I saw a taco salad being made and remembered I hadn't told them I don't want chips. When I walked to the counter I said "I don't want chips with my salad" Completely forgetting to give my name. She should have said what is your name instead of "I don't 'even' know who you are" That was not the problem. Her clear attitude towards me was a problem. I told her my name and got my food. I never said a word after that. On my way out the door she said "have a nice day... OR NOT" (This is not okay) I turned around and told her to please don't start with me (because of her apparent attitude) There was so much yelling I didn't understand a word she said because she was so irate. This might be a classic case of a temper/anger issue. As her employer maybe they could look into whether she is stressed. Perhaps a lil time off to decompress would be a start. Ordered two soft tacos and one reg with a can of Diet Coke for less than $4 (and gave cashier $1 tip). Looks like you can pay w/debit card for a 75 cent fee. We ate in the diner-like atmosphere with no music... while staring at the terrible view of the road. The tacos are similar to the tacos that we'd make at the house (without the dishes to clean up!). Okay food but employees seemed to be annoyed with me for wearing a mask inside to pick up my food - got a sarcastic attitude from lady behind counter - all employees don't wear gloves or masks when preparing food and it's dirty inside. The food that I order did taste good, however, the employees do not wear gloves when preparing food and I have seen the cashiers on several occasions answer the phone and handle transactions at the cash register and then help prepping food without washing hands or wearing gloves. Friendly staff. Cheap food such as .79 cent tacos. My friend and I ate here for a total of $14 without drinks. There is only one table inside and it's small. So, most people seem to plan to order their food and go. The food portions are okay, but it wasn't exceptionally flavorful. Maybe I'm biased because I live in Louisiana. The guacamole dip was tasty. The chips were hardy, not thin. Their enchiladas and soft tacos use flour tortillas, not corn tortillas. Parking would be a pain during busy times because there are only about ten spots along the road by the small building. Looked fairly clean. I didn't ask about bathroom accommodations. read more

OK, so take this place for what it is. A hole in the wall taco shack. I've tried many different things, but I keep coming back on Taco Salad Tuesday/Thursday and getting the Chicken Guacamole Salad with 2 of the home made Hot Sauces. (1 for the salad, 1 for the handfull of chips they throw in with the salad.) The guac is good and you can get out of there for less than 5 bucks. read more

I've been a customer of taco town for over 10 years but after today I won't be going back. I've gone in multiple times where the service was rude or very sassy but today was too much. When going into the store I was the only one there but the man acted as though I was wasting his time deciding what to order. He also kept speaking loudly to get me to move more quickly. After placing the order I decided I also wanted to order a sweet tea and was handing him the change from my initial order to pay for it and he spoke to me as though I was an idiot and didn't understand how change worked when I was just trying to hand him the money back to cover my tea. I went there again after trying it before. The soft tacos I ordered were just o.k. but I've had much better. You really get what you pay for and oh, by the way, forget about paying with a credit card. They only accept cash or checks. Well for starters the lady behind the counter was not helpful with the menu. I asked her what the most popular thing on the menu was and she shrugged her shoulders. They don't have cilantro which was odd for a ''Mexican restaurant'... then she put my food in the styrofoam togo box in the microwave! No enchilada sauce on the enchiladas and they were topped with nacho cheese. Then they didn't use gloves to assemble any of it. We used to leave school during lunch (ok, we were breaking the rule but as a highschool student you could afford this place and the food was a lot better than school lunch or Pizza Hut). Friends of ours recommended this place for the smothered burritos and tacos. We tried it one night and we were not disappointed. If you are looking for a tasty, quick, cheap Mexican meal, then this is it. It's not fancy and we always order the food to go. We get the hot & mild salsa and mix them together to make it medium. The hot is HOT. The seasoning on the beef for the tacos and burritos is what we like. Very flavorful. It has become a regular spot for our family. The kids love the tacos and we get it maxi which includes lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. They have 5 locations so they are doing something right. read more

Coming from Little Mexico aka San Antonio, I was craving mexican food like crazy. And since I don't eat Taco Bell, you couldn't believe how happy I was to see a small taco shack on the corner while making my way to the library. So after working up a nice little appetite doing school work, I drive back down Partin and pull into the itty bitty parking lot (litterally 4 or 5 spaces). I go into the quiet building decorated in one dollar bills featuring their previous owner's names tacked on the wall. There is a high counter along the wall with stools on the front of the building with one attractive dude munching on his taco in peace. So I order the daily special (Friday is burrito day) and some cinnamon munchies to-go. I'm given my total I don't remember what it was, but it was comparable to prices I would've got back in Texas. After pulling out my lovely blue plastic I am informed they are a cash only establishment. Hello, it is 2009 step ya game up and get a machine for goodness sake! The lady was kind enough to tell me where the nearest ATM machine was while she held my order. I come back cash in hand and low and behold not only has she kept my ticket they made my order for me. I pay, grab my food, get in my car and head home. The burrito was huge and had lots of cheese on top, which is always a good thing in my book, BUT the meat and beans lacked all flavor. No salt, no pepper, some fajita seasoning NOPE. Bland Bland Bland!!!! So I move on to my cinnamon munchies. They are nothing more than stale fried tortillas with cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on them. They didn't even warm them up, oh but the brown paper bag that held them sure was greasy. I mean I could have made this at home with the Taco Bell seasoning mix from the grocery store. I'll probably go back just to make sure it wasn't a fluke day. So lets total this up 5 stars - 1 star for not accepting various forms of payment - 1 star for the lack of seasoning used in the food - 1 star for not having freshly fried cinnamon munchie desserts = 2 stars. read more

They effed up my order, and refused to correct it. The manager even yelled at me to the point I was crying and had to hang-up abruptly.

I go in here quite frequently and don't ever care much for the rude service but tonight may have iced the cake for us. I was completely appalled by the unfriendly attitude that one of the employees ALWAYS displays but tonight was over the top. Not only did she get frustrated but slammed the phone on the counter and the owner, who was standing right there, never said a word. There was an issue with the debit machine and stated to her I'd get another card and she goes "no, just take the food and pay another day". I asked her if she wanted my number and said I will go to my car and get another car and she again said no just take it and go! Are you kidding? I looked at the manager expecting him to step in at that point but nope, nothing. I will not be going back. They need to add to their motto on the wall, "rude employees". read more

I love everything about the Taco Town in Niceville. I have heard MANY people complain about the previous owner, but I do believe he has since been fired or has quit. Every time I've gone in to order something this past year, the employees have been nothing but friendly. Yeah, they seem rushed, but that is VERY understandable. I mean, they have a tiny building which only seats about 10 people and there is only a total of 2 workers working at a time. I personally love going there and reading all of the dollar bills stapled to the walls and I love how the employees joke around with me every time I'm there. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their food!! They probably make the best tacos I've ever had. I do wish they were able to find a different and bigger location, but they have been there for as long as I can remember. Good food Great price. The best taco salad in town add the guacamole sauce yummy. I usually get the special of the day and I have never been disappointed. The salads are large enough to share and always good, the crispy taco shell bowl is wonderful and full of lettuce meat cheese tomatoes, I order extra guacamole sauce cause its that good. I have been getting food at this place for several years now and am surprised the other reviews aren't as favorable. I have not been able to eat at Taco Bell since Taco Town opened. You get a lot of food for the price and my family loves it. They are always busy when I come in but the employees move quite fast and for as many times as I've been there I've only had a mistake in my order maybe twice. Yes they don't take credit cards but businesses are charged a fee for credit cards and this keeps the price down. (I had trouble with the ATM once and was going to cancel my order but they let me bring my money the next day.) This location is called "Taco Town To Go" which is why there's limited seating so no complaining there. read more
