This is going to be the most bipolar review I've ever written because I'm so hit or miss on Culver's. On one hand, the food is delicious for a "fast food" joint. And that's probably due to the fact that it isn't really fast food. They make your food fresh to order. (Do we have a category for this type of place, yet? Fresh and fast food?) So, Culver's and McDonald's don't really belong in the same category, in my opinion. Butter burgers are made fresh to order, and I really enjoy their cod sandwich. The cheese curds are addictive and the root beer is top notch. I love their zero calorie diet root beer. Delicious! The staff is always very kind and helpful. Really, it seems like a great company. I wouldn't mind my son working there, and that's a huge compliment from me. On the other hand, Culver's just doesn't do it for me. There's no "it" factor. For the type of place it is, I would compare Culver's to Steak n Shake back in the day (when it was also 4 stars vs the 2 stars it is today). Back then, Steak n Shake was happenin'! It was the place to be so many times! Going late at night to get a fresh steak burger and a malt shake hanging with friends. LFG! That's want I want from Culver's... old school Steak n Shake for guys in their 40's. Alas, it may never be. I never get excited about Culver's. I know people who do. But for me, it's just an option that's better than other options. I give 4 stars, though, because that's 100% on me. The place really does all they can to make sure you have a great evening. It's just hard to drop $50-$65 to feed your family fast food. Really NICE fast food. But fast food, nonetheless. I hope you fall in love with Culver's. I really do. I hope in 20 years, you have the same nostalgia I have for the Steak n Shake that was from a whole 'nother, special world called the 90's. For now, I guess I'll just take out a small loan and go to Culver's for the kids. But I will say that diet root beer is the bomb! read more

This used to be the best Culver's around, but they are going downhill lately. I can't seem to get a correct order from them anymore. The latest order had a correct receipt, but the fries were missing and instead of mayo and pickles on my chicken sandwich they put mayo and lettuce. The whole order was wrong. If German church Road wasn't closed and it wouldn't have taken a longer drive I would have definitely went back ... the burgers were good but the sides were terrible! Burnt and old seemed like they had been sitting for a while. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Didn't even bother taking pics of the curds or onion rings because it was pointless and the French fries already had looked pretty much disgusting. Surprised the burgers were good. Went thru the drive-thru for an elderly handicap person who can't get out of his house. We rarely go here & we never go thru the drive-thru!!! He wanted food from here. He wanted 2 orders of chicken tenders & 1 fries which came up $19.37. Wow... to me that's super pricy!!! Once we placed our order, the cashier dude put a number sticker on our side mirror. We didn't know what was going on. He didn't tell us about it, he just assumed. We looked at him confused & we finally asked, do we pull around the building & wait & he just nodded. He didn't even speak... WTH?!?! As we went around the building, there was already 2 cars ahead of us "waiting"!!! WTH?!?!? So as we were waiting, there was 2 more cars that came around us to the other side forming another line. Are they that freaking slow?!?!? That's why we don't eat here!!! This is a pretty new Culver's in Cumberland. It sits in the parking lot of Meijer. I was going into Meijer to shop for my groceries and stopped to get a burger for lunch. I did not go in I went through the drive-thru. There were cars in front of me but the line moved very quickly and as soon as I pulled up to the sign someone came on the speaker to ask if I was ready to order. I ordered the double butter burger with cheese. They have a system where they place a Post-It note on your mirror and bring your food out to you if it is not ready when you get to the window and people are waiting and that is what happened to me. So they had me park in front of the restaurant there are six spots designated for waiting for to go orders. I did not wait long and they had my burger out to me! Everyone I talked to and that waited on me was very friendly. I think that was the first time that I had a burger at Culver's and I was pleasantly surprised. I like my burgers like the burgers from Steak and Shake they are thin with a crispy edge. The bun was also very fresh. I will be stopping here for lunch again! read more

I went for a drive after work today and found myself on Indy's far-Eastside. After a while, I began looking for a place to get a bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised to see a relatively new Culver's location just inside the town limits of Cumberland directly on East Washington Street. This location is owned and operated by Caleb Hill, who also owns the Post Road Culver's. Typically, as a chain Culver's shies away from having people who own multiple locations since they do require their owners to be in the store working. However, Caleb has proven to be a rock solid owner and his crews are uniformly top-notch. This Culver's is located in front of the Meijer on East Washington Street. It's a solid location, though I found the overall layout a bit cramped. This is especially true given the increased use of drive-thru during the pandemic. Culver's is, of course, a fast food chain. I'd personally put it on the higher-end of the fast food industry. Culver's has been in Indiana for a few years now and I believe is up to 56 Indiana locations. They are most known for their "Butterburger" and for their custard. I tend to be fan of their Butterburger, however, I also like their chicken sandwiches. I don't get their custard as much as I used to, though I'll occasionally pick up a chocolate shake or a concrete mixer. The buildings are nearly all of the same design and the interior tends to be relaxed and comfortable. The drive-thru is usually solid. During the pandemic, I'd put them just behind a certain chicken establishment that people love to hate in terms of operating their drive-thru. I'm not sure when this location opened, though I'm aware it hasn't been that long ago. I was surprised they didn't yet have a review on Yelp. My mother used to do wholesale food sales and the Culver's on Post Road was one of her locations for a while. I got to know the crew well and really enjoy Culver's. As noted, this location is a bit cramped. Post Road has a fairly broad drive-thru that allows you to easily pull up and wait for your food. It's possible here, though it's more difficult and less obvious what you're supposed to do. The drive-thru personnel were super friendly, understood my order, got the pricing correct, and were operating effective and efficiently. I pulled forward to wait on my double Butterburger with fries and a large unsweetened iced tea. It was probably less than a five-minute wait. The order was correct and quite tasty. They do have some options for outside dining and, of course, a dining room. Culver's always does well with accessible parking and this was no exception. This is a welcome addition to the far-Eastside of Indy/Cumberland and I have no doubt will do quite well once people realize it's here waiting for them. While I will continue to mostly patronize Post Road, there's no doubt I'll stop by Culver's if I'm in this area. read more

I know it's a chain restaurant however this location is close to home and the service is always A1 as well as their food! Because it's a newer location I just knew that would have a lot of kinks to work out well they've gone well above expectations! I can't say how well the customer service is here, employees hold the door for you if you are coming in or out while they are- very rare now days, they address you immediately, I am so mad at myself for not getting the boy's name, but yesterday ( 10/25/24 at around 5:30-6pm) he was working the middle register and he was by far the most polite, kind, and prompt kid I've ever seen working anywhere! We ate here on a weekday night and it was rather busy. They seemed well staffed. The cashier was very polite. We didn't wait too long considering how busy they were. The food was hot and fresh and the order was correct. We ordered concrete mixers after dinner and here's the disappointment. When they brought them out ice cream was all over the exterior of the cups. The mixers were only halfway mixed as well. Once you got halfway down, it was all icecream, no mix ins. read more

Very fast service and very nice employees. It is a younger crowd that works there and they did a great job greeting us and helping me order. My kids love that they get a custard with their kids meal. We ate there to kill some time before a birthday party and it was very clean and well maintained inside. I had the cod dinner. Two pieces and French fries filled me up. This is one of our top picks for some good fast food. The food is always hot, tastes great, service is great, and the workers are great. Even during their busy days, they are pretty quick to get your order to you. I have rarely ever had issues, except for an occasional wrong item in order - but they were quick to fix it with a smile. the tenders were so bad , they was a bit slow , and my burger was no bueno dry kids kept staring at us

Stopped at Culver's for custard to take home the other day and usually go in but did drive through . They had Pint on the menu which I am accustomed to measurements but was not familiar with how much is in a pint . I asked and was told 4.79 - I rephrased and asked how much in cups - no response - then how many servings - again no response . Finally just told him I take 2 . At the window the pints were delivered and everybody at the window was cracking up laughing . Do not appreciate that at all . For general I formation a pint is 2 cups and a serving is 1/2 cup which means each pint has 4 servings . We will have a lot of custard for a while . Might need to educate people inside to just answer questions instead of laughing . Culver's food is really good btw but we will go Inside from now on read more
