Culinary Dropout was super fun. The menu is sort of a fresh fusion approach to eclectic flavors in novel ways. I had the Mongolian ribs, which came out crispy and tasty. The staff were attentive, and I'm definitely going back to eat my way through more of the menu. read more

Nice restaurant but very slow service. We had 1.5 hours to eat before picking up our child. Drinks were very slow to start. We could tell this was going to be very slow. We ordered sushi for an appetizer and our entrees to come after. Manager comes by at 45 minutes and apologizes for long wait. At one hour mark, we tell our server we need both soon so we could pick up our child on time. Sushi was dry and entrees were not good. Server blamed us for rushing the order. It's a beautiful location and I hope it's just they are new and figuring things out. But at those prices, I expect more. read more

Culinary Dropout is the new "must go to"restaurant in Franklin. Especially in the ever-expanding vibrant Aspen Grove Franklin area! We were warmly greeted by the reception staff and seated near live music that was enjoyable (while still allowing to have a nice conversation). The whole experience was wonderful. The drinks are outstanding- see pics of our favorites! Mule, Cadillac, playboi and old fashioned! The food Was absolutely delicious- each dish better than the one before. Noisy atmosphere and overpriced food and drinks! We saw a happy hour advertised here, so made reservations for 5:30. Our waitress informed us it was only at the bar, which it says nowhere. It's also only Mon-Fri., so too bad for us, as we happened to be there on a Sunday. I guess we missed that, but all that's to say, the experience started off on the wrong foot. I know that cocktails have gotten more expensive lately, but for $15, I expect a really excellent cocktail. Ours were just okay. The menu was a bit strange, and nobody in our party of four raved about their food. By far, the best thing was our appetizer, which really was good! There is also no division between center booths, so you feel like you're having dinner with like 10 people. This lack of privacy and sound attenuation also makes it so noisy as to be oppressive. We were practically shouting at each other the whole meal. This place is very trendy, and it seems to be popular, as it was crowded, so good for them, but we won't be back. read more

This is a tough review because overall this is a really nice establishment. We were there for Sunday brunch today. I called in ahead of time and was told there was no reason to make a reservation as there was never a wait on Sundays at noon. I found this odd because Sunday at noon is prime brunch time, but ok. We got there and only about 2/3 of the tables were full. The person at the host stand told me they had only one chef today and were seating based on the ability to serve in a timely manner. Another ok. We waited about 15 minutes at the bar. The bar staff was great and very attentive. There was live music (5/5) and multiple TVs with Sunday NFL games (another 5/5). Once we were seated the real issue began. We were a party of 4 - two orders of banana bread french toast (5/5), one fried chicken and biscuits (4/5) and one pork bowl with egg (1/5 due to a large amount of fat in the meat). The majority of the food was good but the waitress gave us bad information about our order. She told us the chicken and biscuits was bone-in, which it wasn't. This caused one of the party to order something different than what they wanted. She also said the order came with french fries - which it didn't. She admitted that she was new so we let it all slide. The manager came to the table randomly (we didn't ask to speak to him) and he was great. The prices were fair though the servings sizes were a bit small. Overall I might return if I was looking for an excellent banana bread french toast or a chill spot to have a drink at the bar - otherwise probably not. read more

Food was just mid, the space was cool and it was certainly crowded and a place to observe the what-nots in Williamson county. But service was just ok and the food was a high-priced Applebee's fare. Very hopeful, this will improve as they are opened a little longer. If not, perhaps the chef should consider going back and finishing his culinary education. Good luck!! read more

Forget whatever is on your list of restaurants and GO HERE!!! Phenomenal service our waiter, Brayden, was so attentive! Our food and drinks came within minutes of ordering. The manager Ryker again exceptional service, went above and beyond. Told them we were pregnant and they surprised us with a congrats dessert. Food and drinks were amazing! We sat at the bar and, I must say, the bartenders were quite awesome! Not sure about the spelling of the names but Drew, Megan, Thomas, Melody and Ashton were outstanding! Friendly and attentive and never had to wait for anything! I really enjoyed my dining experience at Culinary Dropout. We had a larger party and this was most people's first time at the restaurant. We all loved the atmosphere and the optional outdoor dining space. We really enjoyed the pretzels & fondue, whipped feta & tahini dip and pork belly nachos. The 36 hour ribs were a hit as well! Cocktails were fantastic, especially loved the Old Fashioned American Spirit. The staff is super friendly and provided wonderful service. We will definitely be back! read more

I think this restaurant has potential. The atmosphere is awesome! Love how spacious it is. The service was spotty but again...they just opened so I am willing to overlook that aspect. The food was pretty good...sushi was a bit mushy, chips and onion dip was exceptional! The reason for the 2 stars is that the drinks were extremely expensive and were so filled with ice that a large piece fell out when she sat it down on the table. With this economy, please stop overfilling our drinks with ice. It's an old trick and you aren't fooling anyone. If you have the nerve to charge $17 for well drinks, then you cannot have ice spilling out of the top. I took two pulls on my straw and the drink was gone...Come on, that's absurd. I even asked the waitress and she agreed that the ice was excessive. I spent $300 here for lunch but won't be back if this is the standard practice. read more

I really like this place. I got the double burger which resembles a Big Mac but tastes much better of course. I got a salad and they got the cheese wrong on it but it's ok. I will have to try again next time. The place was only open for I think three days when we went. So I have to cut them some slack. The fries were very good although a little skimpy. The food was good although a little pricey. Franklin needs a place like this that's open late. They are open until 11 Mon-Thursday and Midnight on the weekends. Oh and the place is pretty loud so if you like a quiet place this is not for you. The pretzel bites with cheese look really good. We will have to try next time. read more

Sit at the bar, ask for Alli as she is the best...the menu is great and so many different options, there is something for everyone but it's the people that makes it special/different from most other places in Franklin!
