Really had a great date night out. The cocktails were great and the beer tasted like fresh Mountain water very refreshing. The Korean steak was a little spicier than what I thought it would be but still delicious and tender the fish and chips for crisp and what I expected I recommend the potato chips very satisfying Service was pretty good. I know it was a busy night look forward to slipping over there during the week for maybe a happy hour and try some other things This new establishment had their pizza ovens on the fritz that night which is kind of a bummer I wanted to also try one of those as well to add Using the valet is an absolute must. Very tight fitted parking lot and with all the different venues down there if they didn't have it there would be no parking. read more

The service was friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming experience. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite match--especially the meat, which lacked flavor and seasoning. We ordered the burger and friend chicken. A bit of a letdown given the upbeat atmosphere. The drinks were delicious though! read more

Great atmosphere. Entree selection were great. Cocktails were tasty. Easy parking access.

I've been to both their Dallas and Austin location. Their food is yummy and service is speedy. Their drinks are also really good and their rooftop view of downtown Dallas is unbeatable. They have vegan, vegetarian, non alcoholic, and gluten free options and different cuisines from around the world -- their menu should satisfy all dietary needs and taste buds! read more

The ribs are really good. Oh! And so is the pasta! We sat upstairs one evening and really enjoyed the people and the view.

I was super excited to try this restaurant when I saw how pretty the inside and outside of restaurant looked! And yes it was as I saw in pictures and loved the vibe. I went with couple friends and we started off with the famous soft pretzels&provolone fondue, shrimp tempura crunch roll, spicy tuna crispy rice roll, steak frites, chicken cacio e pepe, and black truffle mushroom pizza. Honestly the food was super mid. I learned not to order sushi rolls at an American restaurant, pasta was ridiculous.. noodles easily falling apart and you can barely smell or even taste the black truffle in the pizza. The service was bad! Our server came around couple times, literally only to serve the food when it was ready. AND she got our order mixed up so brought out the wrong pizza. First of all, if your customer orders multiple dish, take note so you don't mess up. We had to wait quite a while after we were done with all the other dishes just for the pizza. And our water glasses were empty almost from the beginning and she not once filled it up. I honestly don't see myself revisiting ... read more

Culinary Dropout - Visiting Dallas,TX dinner & live music is spectacular! Wonderful staff too! - New American Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Service is so bad!! 20 open tables and they still tell you it's a 30 minute wait. Horrible lazy workers

If you're coming to enjoy the ambiance by all means stop by‼ HOWEVER, if you're coming for an amazing dining experience I would STRONGLY advise against it. Our waiter was Carlos and I've never seen a more attentive waiter to his other seven tables. We were waiting longer than 30 mins without being checked on even for drink for WATER refills. I've worked in the service industry and I understand when you get in the weeds and evening dinner rush. However, your largest party should never be completely ignored until their meals are brought to the table. Let alone served by other waiters and you not make your presence felt upon delivery. It would've also helped tremendously to have received a greeting from a manager long before it was made known there was a problem with six entrees being served partially if not completely cold. I'm overly generous with the second star to be quite honest. Need I forget, to add insult to injury CARLOS was very nonchalant and seemingly "checked out" when the issues were brought to his attention. Thereafter the cold items were replaced an additional 10 minutes later. I didn't bother to include any pictures because I'd rather not remember this experience. read more

Loved this place so much. Had live music on the night that we went. Interior was so cozy and comfy, perfect for a date night. Des was our server, he was very attentive all night and gave us a whole overview menu. I would recommend him for any first time visitors. Food was so cooked to perfect, everything is made in house. Biscuits took me back to my granny cooking at home. read more

Had a great experience eating here! The food is always good and the vibes are so cute. I did have a drink I didn't like at all but they changed it instantly for me! Our only dull moment was we went to the rooftop for a drink and the service was VERY slow. Other than that everything was great! read more

Very cute place! I came here for the rooftop but unfortunately there was a big party there so we weren't able to check it out. But the resturant itself was nicely decorated and the food was good! My favorite was the duck fried rice. It's a must! read more

I loved the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant, it was way more relaxed than I expected it to be. Live music was playing but it was loud or distracting. The food was overall good, I personally didn't care for the Caesar salad -- something in it was making my lips tingle despite not being allergic to anything. Service was friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. read more

I've been to Culinary Dropout a few times and have tried a plethora of dishes. I've even had it delivered a couple times. Needless to say, I like it but I don't love it. The service has always been good and quick. The restaurant itself is beautiful. I love the amount of natural lighting. The espresso martini is one of the best I've had in Dallas. I just feel like the dishes have been hit or miss depending on the day. That's a bit disappointing because this isn't a cheap place. The crispy tuna and MAC burger are the dishes I've ordered multiple times and they've been inconsistent with the quality. The hot wings are strange. The best dish i've had here so far is the duck fried rice, it's very flavorful. The waiters keep pushing the fried chicken so eventually I will give it a try. I'd say this is a good option if you're already in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. read more

The service was great and food was good for the most part, ordered the MAC burger but for the restaurant not being very busy the burger was just lukewarm. Seemed like it sat for a little while as the some of the cheese was not all the way melted read more

I came to culinary on a whim and I was met with the most lively bartender I have ever encountered. Liam was everything I could have ever dreamed of in a server/bartender. Not only did he immediately make me feel welcomed while I was alone. Upon my guest arrival he charmed the both of us. He is prior military and I will forever love our troops. He is very personable and make great recommendations! I will forever frequent Culinary dropout for the service I received today. Please hire more people like Liam. Love you Liam XOXO Nya read more

Sooo, I think I found my new favorite restaurant for me and my girlies! Culinary Dropout is such a vibe! Great food (do yourself a favor and get the ribs!), great drinks, and the most perfect rooftop with views of downtown Dallas. Did not get a chance to sample any desserts but they looked yummy! Parking is valet only but there's some free parking available behind the building. I'm sure this place will be a favorite during our upcoming warm Dallas autumn nights. read more

The food is prepared fresh, hot, tasty, mouthwatering, what to add, it is delightful, yummy. The Staff, to whom your order is taken, is aw, so professional, and very customer service committed, and has nice personalities. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful semi crowded not noisy and good lunchtime environment to have wonderful food in an epic atmosphere. Highly recommend! read more

I took a client here for lunch a couple weeks ago. They're relatively new and such a beautiful restaurant, with a bonus of a rooftop bar! If I lived near here, I'd be there watching sports. The bad are was also so cute and just the whole place is a total vibe! I don't remember our servers name, but the three of us ordered the deviled eggs, prime dip, and the chopped chicken salad. My prime rib dip wasn't my favorite, the bread was a little soggy/soft and the meat wasn't the French dips I normally favor (I like hearty bread for the au jus). That said, everything else was fantastic and I'll definitely be back when I'm the area again. read more

Went this past weekend food was ok nothing really stood out to expect for the brussels sprouts and the pizza was solid. Drinks were tasty and would order them again. Love the patio and had a nice DJ that played a good mix of music on a Saturday night. Our waiter was great and hate i don't remember his name. When we 1st got seat him and one other girl was running the upstairs by themselves and you couldn't tell they where under staff for about an hour. read more

Decided to stop by here for lunch after hearing about it a few times and i wasnt disappointed. I sat at the bar and they had numerous people working and it looked like there was barely any wait time. I had the signature old fashioned. While they don't have the block cubes they do compensate by using the 1 inch ice cubes which worked well. The old fashioned mix is made in house daily. I can't recommend enough the chicken katsu sabdwich. It was lightly fried and the coleslaw that topped it was perfect blend to bring out more flavor. The fries were ok so I'd substitute that for the fries next time due to the fries being over cooked. Also the bartenders were very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. My food and drink as examples read more

I loved this place and Jordan was an amazing server. We came for my birthday after a round of treatments at UTSW and they treated us phenomenally. I had the Deviled eggs appetizer which could use some hot sauce in their mix but were still very tasty. The Fried Chicken? 10/10 no notes. I drank both the room service and their version of the Old Fashion which were both delicious. Room service provided a fruity easy drinker and the old fashion had a hipster twist that didn't degrade the classic trust an old fashion gives. read more

Happy, happening place! Love the open airy large space. You don't feel crowded or on top of someone. Seated immediately. Chose the Paloma Spritz cocktail with vodka instead of tequila. The Himalayan salt on the rim is a nice touch. Can't resist grapefruit and this is a refreshing cocktail. The truffle deviled eggs are piped which made a smooth texture. Delicious! Our server is amazing! Gave great recommendations! We like to try different do went with the spicy vegan curry. Very spicy and flavorful, can taste each ingredient listed on the menu. We finished dinner with the banana bar. Yummy! read more

I went here with some friends for brunch one Sunday. The place is quite big and they have a valet but you can park right next to it in the same lot. I got a Spicy Bloody Mary $15.00 to start off which was meh and did not come with bacon like it states or they just forgot it. I got their Fried Chicken & Biscuit $18.00, came with sunny side up eggs, spicy old bay gravy and fresh herbs. The breading was crispy and flavorful. The gravy was really good, it tied everything together flavor wise. The biscuits were just okay but when you got a bite of everything this was real good. I ended with their Signature Old Fashioned $16.00 which was pretty good as well. The service was really good, very attentive and on point with refills. Everything is on the pricier side but I would gladly go back and eat there again. read more

Huge space, lovely, there's indoor and outdoor seating. The food was good, I got the chopped salad which was very tasty with all the flavors combined. I tried the Paloma spritz which didn't disappoint. Our server wasn't around much, which is okay because I was catching up with a friend but still. They have a nice bar area too. I would definitely come back. read more

Hola, soy yo Boi Kenny Powers back @ it again. This time I'm here for an intermission! You know somewhere 2 chill for a min while ur friends figure out where yaw gonna eat. I got a few apps I want to tell you about. Well first if u sit at the bar, THEY WANT 2 KEEP YOUR CARD!!! I hate that!!!! Where is my card going? Am I supposed to blindly trust you!! If u travel abroad they bring the credit card machine to you, your credit card never leaves your sight. -1 star The popcorn shrimp was ummm just ohhh k for me. I frequent meddlesome moth who has cornbread popcorn shrimp and the breading and the tarter is 80% better. I followed that with the rainbow roll. Which has tuna, salmon, shrimp, avocado and spicy crab. For a sushi roll at what I would term a non sushi place, IT WAS GOOD!!! I would definitely order it again. Unfortunately I gotta go! I'm going to have dinner somewhere else but will certainly be back to check out more of the menu. read more

Just posted this review on google, but wanted to add here as well because they deserve the love! Visited for the first time last night with a group of friends and WOW! We had the most wonderful experience!!! We started out on the spacious rooftop balcony, which had such a fun vibe--especially with the amazing DJ playing (shoutout to whoever she was on 7/12!). From the moment we walked in until we left, the entire staff went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of. We all agreed--we genuinely couldn't remember the last time we experienced service that warm, attentive, and kind. We had a large order that covered just about everything--multiple appetizers, entrées, salads, and we couldn't resist ending with dessert. Every single dish was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Not a single miss! Just after our appetizers arrived, the team kindly let us know that rain was on the way and offered to move us inside. Sure enough, not long after we were settled at our new table, the skies opened up. It was seamless, thoughtful, and just another example of how well-run the whole evening was. Can't wait to come back! read more

Our Sunday brunch group decided to try Culinary dropout for 2 reasons: it is a part of the Fox Group from phoenix and they have several restaurants in DFW that I like. The other reason we decide to check it out was that it was "relatively new on the scene. There are several things you need to consider for brunch. 1. This is a big restaurant and I mean Texas Size big restaurant that covers over 22,000 feet. And there are good and bad things about size. 2. We ate in the restaurant downstairs and it was clear that all of the "actions" was upstairs on the roof. 3. We had an experienced waiter who was very accommodating for a group of 8 people. 4. The only issue we had was the menu was not really "brunch forward" 5. The popcorn shrimp were good. But not really a standard brunch item 6. No egg Benedict, no breakfast bread or pastries except biscuits 7. Chicken and biscuit was good as was the kale salad with shrimp. 8. The drinks were good! All in All we enjoyed our visit. The crowd is significantly younger than our group and they apparently have live music or DJ. read more

Our server was Shania. She was great. She checked on us and made good suggestions. My husband got the salad while I got the fried chicken which came either mashed potatoes and a biscuit. We tried a few cocktails, but I don't remember the names. They had live music that was nice. I highly recommend a reservation if you desire to sit on the rooftop. I didn't give 5 starts because they were out of a dish that I wanted to try. read more

Yummy yummy yummy yummy Best mocktail I've ever been served. In fact, everyone enjoyed their drinks. Patio seating was more quiet than inside, and there was a delightful cool breeze. Our waitress provided home run service. She even opened the plastic walls so that we could enjoy the beautiful weather. We shared appetizers: shrimp, wagyu pigs in a blanket, and pretzel bits (these were the bomb). read more
