Came in for the lunch buffet, food was ok, nothing special, but what I found bizarre is the owner sat and stared at me eating the entire time. Now I did sit in the booth directly in front of the register close to the wall, but every time I looked up he was staring right at me, for 30 or 40 minutes straight, as if he thought I was going to eat and run out, or put some food in my bag to go...I felt like I was shopping in a store with a security guard following me around the whole store watching my every move....when I would go to the buffet and sit back down he was monitoring me the whole way...Very strange and odd, but this is usual for oregon types. FANTASTIC!!!! My husband and I did a date night here and have the vegetable platter, lamb curry (spicy), lamb saag (medium), with plain and garlic naan. We finished with the mango kalfi. Yesterday we are in a hurry to reach sacramento, On the way we had our dinner at this resta..,This place awesome, Food: I Had Keema Samosa which is good but they mixed potatoes in that but even that was good, and had Chicken biryani and shrimp biryani, that was amazing i asked them not keep raisins in the biryani and asked for medium spicy they made it very well. Ambience: Resta from the out side you may not like it but inside the place looks good and very clean and organized. Service: The service is very good, The people are clean and well behaved with customers. The father and son are amazing in responding to customers, The other guy was very quick in taking out the extra plates on the table. Over all i liked the experience. I have tried Indian food twice before and hated it each time, but figured I would try one more time to make sure I didn't just go to bad Indian places. The Shrimp Tandoori was great, the Lamb Tikka Masala was off the charts. the Chicken Saag and the Dal Mahkini were all 10's. Their spice levels are the real deal true Indian spice levels. I have also eaten here frequently enough that I have been able to try a good amount of the menu and today I thought to myself that this restaurant deserves a good review. Their dinner is really great. You can order anything on the menu that you prefer and enjoy it. I really have to point out their naan because it is actually the best naan I have ever had. Make sure to eat it as soon as it comes out with your meal because it gets cold quickly. It might be a bit buttery for some people, but I can assure you it is well worth getting it anyway. I was a bit disappointed by their mango lassi, but one below average menu item absolutely does not affect the fact that the rest of what they serve is awesome. read more

I've eaten Indian restaurants in many countries including the U.K. and the west coast of the U.S. Cuisine India may be the best of them all. The naan was garlic-buttery goodness (although they only give you one for your order). The chai was rich and full of flavor, a nice hot delight on a cold Salem day. Tikka masala medium spicy was delicious with he basmanti rice. The Tikka masala was a tad on the sweet side for me but still really good. The spice level packed a good punch for medium. I had the Mattar Paneer and my spouse had Paneer Tikka Masala. Enjoyed the food and especially liked the garlic naan. I don't recommend the vegetable samosas, though. I've eaten Indian food all over Britain and at almost every restaurant on Pioneer Boulevard in Artesia, CA. This compares favorably. The food is delicious but more importantly the staff is kind, gracious and accommodating. My wife has many dietary issues and our waitress on the last visit spent a lot of time with her on options, they wound up cooking the food "homestyle", unamericanized, the way they eat it at home. Indian food is one of our favorites and my wife hasn't been able to eat it for several years because of her dietary issues, but she can come here! And it was delicious, I don't even like ocra, but they cooked it wonderfully! The place is always clean and well lit. This is probably my favorite place to eat in Salem, it's obvious they value every customer that walks through the door. The first time I ate here the owner opened the door for a homeless man and gave him money, and just now he served a homeless man a free meal, what a kind person!
