I can't say enough good things about this bakery. I have a LOVE of crème brûlée donuts. They have a good one here. The glaze could be a little thicker but it's good as is. Our favorite things here are the fresh conchas. One day we lucked out and got warm conchas. Wow! The staff is always so nice. They've even made my crème brûlée donut when they were out. The ingredients are fresh and good quality. I have not had anything bad ever here. They even piped in fresh cream to some item as they are purchased. The Spinach feta bagel is stuffed and so delicious. I live the texture of the bagel. The bakery front is super cute and clean looking. They have 2 tables with chairs if you want to sit there and eat. Hidden gem tucked away behind a Walgreens. Best scones I've ever had for this price. Everything is super fresh, and they have a variety of doughnuts too. Not really dine-in bakery, but they do have coffee and tables for seating. Just saw they serve "giant doughnuts," so I'll be coming back in to get one soon! read more

The donuts here are FANTASTIC! They're not super greasy which is a major plus. Flavorful and hearty. I absolutely love the crème brûlée donut but the marionberry is a close 2nd to it being my fave. I also tried the croissant donuts and they were great too. I've had other bakeries croissant-donuts and they were heavy and greasy, not the Dough Hooks. The 2 things I would say need to improve, the customer service & the location. The lady working the counter, not very personable. The location, there's a lot of homeless around to the point where I held my donuts close as I exited to my truck. Of course, they're probably like others where you leave them alone and they'll leave you alone. I think they'd have more business is a better location. Just my opinion though. read more

My husband did some research to find me a good cinnamon roll this morning. He found the dough hook and we tried it, even though it was on Lancaster, the dead zone for good food. We arrived a little before they opened and we were not the first there. It gave us a chance to see our options. Instead of buying 2 cinnamon rolls, we bought two cinnamon rolls, two ham and cheese croissants, toasted coconut donut and strawberry shortcake donut. PHENOMENAL! This bake shop gets a high review because the donuts are fun, flavors are creative, and they taste good too! Baked onsite with a small but highly capable crew, the customer service didn't disappoint either. My cashier was Ángeles, and while I'm sure that's not all they do, they were patient and kind as I decided on my half dozen with a couple extras. (not pictured: crème brûlée and maple bacon donut, and the chocolate croissant, and berry danish) The lobby is small and can't fit many customers at once. Their menu board is cool, and jam packed with options, which is great but will take some time to get through unless you already know what you want. Outside the donut shop (it's in a tucked away mini strip mall area off Lancaster) the parking lot is unkempt which I didn't enjoy. Not sure if they offer premium coffee (espresso, latte, etc) but if they don't they should. One of their maple bacon donuts or chocolate croissants with a breve latte would SLAP! Most apple fritters are way too sweet but this one wasn't.
