Yummy yum! The chicken was flavorful and very tender, which some Indian places miss, but not this one. Be aware, we got medium spice and it was perfectly spicy for me,but quite on the spicy side for medium. The malai kofta was delish, I would recommend! The paneer pakora was fine, but I would not get it again. The batter was so thick (maybe how the dish is supposed to be), but not my thing. The service was fine. Its a small place but pretty open.

Chicken Tikka Masala and rice, delish!

Insanely good! My brother and I ordered delivery in mid-October 2020 and I ordered delivery again for myself in late November 2020. Delivery seems to be via a third party app, just wanted to put that out there. Food was delish! My brother ordered Vindaloo, I ordered Tikka Masala (crazy different for me, I know). Both were hot and fresh upon delivery, chicken was quality, and portions were good. I was a little perturbed to see specks in the rice, but quickly realized they were cumin or coriander seeds, so yummy. They really added to the flavor of the rice. Definitely going to make this a regular stop in Salem.

Lunch buffet - tandoori chicken was a treat

If your craving some Indian food or perhaps a lunch buffet while in Salem then this place may suffice. Not the best I've had by any means but also not the worst either. Buffet setup is not the best or cleanest but the associates seem to try to operate this small restaurant business as best they can but it is a small restaurant space so keep that in mind. There is also no parking dedicated to restaurant so pack some change as you'll need to pay for parking - FYI Tandoori chicken was my favorite from what I had but the other items were just ok nothing to write home about if you get my drift. Just an ok place to get a quick bite. Will I be back? Probably not only because I was here in business and I'll leave myself to visit other Indian restaurants around the neighboring cities to get my Indian food fix.

Pretty dang good. Ill be back at least once a month. Magically, the dish I ordered wasn't too spicy for me.

The ambiance was soothing. Tried lamb, chicken, and beef, all turned out great to the taste buds.

Delicious! Definitely the real thing! They made our dishes dairy-free for us and it was ready on time. We'll be back!

Not a friendly place. They looked open and the man inside was not happy that we came in. The open sign was on.

Ask the Community - Cuisine India

Is the buffet open for dinner as well or only during lunchtime?

Yes. And my friend from Pakistan has me take him here and says it's as authentic a Punjabi meal as he has back home. The butter chicken here is amazing!

What time does the lunch buffet start?

    I believe it’s 11 AM! So good!

Can I order off the menu at lunch?

Yes it's what I did and I was able to get just what I wanted without anything I didn't.

So much flavor with each bite that I didn't want to finish it lol. Unfortunately, I did when I got home... I told myself I was eventually gonna try other items and here I am, swinging by last night and ordered the 5 piece tandoori chicken. Beware! This might take a little longer to prepare so be courteous with your wait. The gentlemen working on 9/15/25, I did not catch his name, gave me a heads up that it will take a bit longer. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait. When it was ready, I could smell the aromatics thru the light breeze and it had me floating over. (imagine a cartoon character floating over while twinkling their toes). The gentlemen asked if it was for here or to go, because he wanted me to try it and let him know how it was. I said it was to go, but I sat back down with my wife to finish our drink and tried it out. I tried a bite and ended up eating a whole piece of chicken lol...SHEESH! I had to let him know that it was excellent on my way out and what he recommended for me next time around. So far, they are killing it and I wanna give a shout out to the worker on 9/15/25 for his friendly service and recommendations! I can't wait to try the other items :)

    Sewell Sweets - Custom cake

    (48 reviews)

My fiancé and I were looking for a bakery to make our wedding cake. We approached Sewell Sweets…read morewith excitement -- submitted an inquiry, made follow-up calls, sent emails, and confirmed directly with the owner before visiting. What followed was pure frustration. When we arrived, the employee had no idea about the cake box listed on the website and offered to call the owner when we raised the pricing discrepancy. While helping us, she was also audibly complaining about another customer, saying she "couldn't even wait 45 seconds." We ended up paying more than the advertised price and were only told after the fact that in-store pricing differs. All four cakes went in the trash. They were dry, stale, and one tasted so off that we couldn't take more than one bite. $48 for product that was completely inedible. When we called to report it, the employee showed no empathy, made no apology, and had a noticeable attitude. When the owner called back, I was calm and polite. I was hoping for basic acknowledgment, given we had planned to spend significantly more on a wedding cake there. Instead, he led with camera footage, misrepresented what I had said, declined my offer to return the cakes, and ended the call with nothing but silence and "I'll take it into consideration." Maybe it was an off day. These things happen, even at great businesses. But a great business apologizes, asks questions, and tries to make it right. None of that happened here. What makes this experience stand out isn't just one bad interaction -- it's the pattern. Unanswered emails. Misinformed staff. Inedible products. Dismissive phone calls. And then a same-day public response crafted to discredit rather than reflect. Do yourself a favor and find a bakery that actually values your business, your event, and basic human decency. Sewell Sweets is not it. --------------- UPDATE: The owner has replied to this review on Google, and while I have no interest in a public argument, several claims in that response are inaccurate and anyone reading deserves the full picture. We were not attempting a random walk-in tasting. An inquiry was submitted early-to-mid March, a follow-up call was made on March 18th, a follow-up email sent the same day, and we spoke to the owner on March 19th -- during which he confirmed he had seen our emails, that our date was available, and that he would be in touch. I told him we would be coming in the next day, exactly as his employee had instructed. We followed every step we were given. The owner did not apologize multiple times. He opened by citing camera footage -- for a quality complaint -- then told me I had claimed a cake was dropped on the floor, which I never said. I described the taste as "off" like he said, which is not an insult by any reasonable standard. There was a lot of silence and he just said "I'll take it into consideration." Twice. That was it. At no point during any of our interactions did we raise our voices, argue, or say anything disrespectful. We were nothing but polite. Also worth noting -- just because someone else didn't complain, doesn't mean our experience didn't happen. For someone who described an extremely busy service day, not a single positive review appears to have been posted that day, which goes to show not everyone shares their experience. In fact, this is only the 2nd negative review I have posted in my entire life and the only one that is food related. The owner claims he looked "carefully" into our experience -- yet by his own account, in just 25 minutes he managed to receive word from his employee about my call, conduct an internal review of the situation, review emails, confirm proper handling and quality of preparation, speak with three separate staff members about our interactions, and check camera footage -- and still had time to call me back. That is quite a thorough investigation for 25 minutes. Finally, it says a lot that a lengthy response was written the same day to dispute a customer's experience, yet an email sent over a week prior was never acknowledged and a call from days before went unreturned. ------
