One of the few asian markets in the area with very fresh seafood! Although they do not have a huge variety, they do have lots of asian snacks and drinks to choose from. Canned milk tea, mochi, instant ramen, Pocky sticks... they've got them all! When we came, there was a big swarm around the seafood area. Most people come here for the fresh seafood: fish, live shrimp, crab, etc. That is one of popular reasons that people would endure such a tiny little grocery store like this. Not only that, there was a long line for the cashier checkout area. It's not very organized either. Although they have two aisles marked with blue tape, many people just cut other customers or go infront of eachother! Not very organized and the staff didn't care too much to organize the lines either. They also have a sushi boba shop connected to the building, but it seems to be closed due to COVID. When I was checking out my cashier & another worker started talking in another language & dying laughing which I didn't think anything of until immediately after when my cashier (a woman) looks at me & says "ebt?" lmao like why would you just assume I'm paying with ebt? As a Black customer, I can't ignore how this assumption seemed to be rooted in racial stereotypes. Do you ask every customer that? Honestly it was extremely uncomfortable and inappropriate. The girl was very rude, she told me if I DO not want to pay for the bag I have to carry the lobster home the way it is. The lobster was $15,99 per pound they tried to make me pay $15.99 per pound for the bag with every drop of water too with it. First thing I noticed walking inside was that it was very dirty and stinky in this store. Big black flies just flying around the store. Their stock was decent but the workers there don't care about customer service unless you are friends with them. We had a lady cut in front of us because she started a conversation with one of the cashiers and stood in front of us. Don't let the interior/exterior look scare you! BEST place for fresh dungeness crab. And by fresh, I mean live. You pick your crabs out of a giant tank and take them home and plunge them into a homemade hot tub. Delicious! And the price can't be beat! $3.29/lb if you buy five or more crabs ($3.49/lb for less). Any grocery store is going to charge at least $6/lb for previously frozen and cooked. Yuck. They also have live lobster, fish, clams, mussels, and other sea creatures and a wide variety of frozen fish. The staff is very friendly here as well. The lady today gave us a Chinese calendar for Chinese New Year toda. This is only one of the places on Lancaster worth venturing to! read more

My biggest mistake was not walking out of this place. As soon as I walked in, I could smell the decaying fish odor. "Fresh" seafood market doesn't smell like decaying fish. I was in the mood for oysters so I looked at their selection....well, or lack thereof. In a proper oyster market they are usually kept underwater with good water circulation to rid them of waste products. These were just on ice, as you see them in places like wholefoods, and they were visibly not so clean. I asked the guy at the counter where these oysters were from and he threw his hands up in the air and said "I don't know", as if I was asking something unreasonable. I bought a dozen, needed some brushing to get them clean, and when I found out that only one or two of them looked edible after shucking them, I ate one of them and threw the rest away. I can't speak for other seafood, but if their lack of concern for oysters and the odor of decaying fish is any indication, then I would stay very far away from this place. I would make the drive to Beaverton and go to Uwajimaya where they actually have fresh seafood, or better yet, drive to oyster farm. read more

This place is awesome! Freshest seafood and super cheap prices. Really good live selection such as crab, crawfish, tilapia, clams, etc., and a big frozen seafood section. You won't find a better seafood market in Oregon without going to Portland. It also has a really good grocery section, not a huge variety, but it has the basics like potstickers and pocky. I've been going here since before they moved to this location and miss it since I moved out of state. And for all the whiners talking about the smell, they must not go to seafood markets normally because it isn't that bad compared to other places even in Newport. Also, if you feel they treat you not very nice, it is probably because you came in with the attitude that you are better or know it all because they are the nicest people if you get to know them. This place is a great new find for me. They have a huge selection of fresh seafood as well as live crab, lobster, clams, oysters, shrimp, crawfish and scallops depending on the season.
