Looking for some good fish & chips, my friend and I headed out to find some. The Yard Food Park has a lot of options for food but we had never been to Baja Fish before so we decided to give them a try. We were definitely not disappointed! We both got the same thing: the #2 which is a fish & shrimp basket served with fries, cocktail and tartar sauces, wedge of lemon and ketchup. It was delicious! Perfectly fried, the giant shrimp and tender fish filets went down without a whisper. Oh so good! The Yard has a great indoor seating area along with a bar serving drinks of all kinds, as well as an outdoor area where kids and dogs can also play. I ordered the clam chowder bread bowl from here- which doesn't list what is in it. I am pescatarian, so when I got it & there was bacon in it... I politely asked if they could make it w/ out, or give me something else instead. It wasn't until after they were really rude to my partner & I- that I requested a refund. They refused, & stated I took too long to bring it back. Even though, it was still warm. The food is overpriced, the workers are rude, & the menu isn't clear. I had heard nothing but great things about this Eatery, and it didn't disappoint. We ordered (2) 3-piece Fish & Chips and a Captains Platter. The fish was very tasty and delicious, and I would definitely order again. In my opinion, the Fish & Chips at Baja Fish and The Battered Fish on Commercial are both great choices with great service... It's just a matter of convenience where you are at the moment. read more

Bf and I really enjoyed eating here! First time we ordered was on delivery app and we both got fish sandwiches. The fried fish was excellent and toppings gave it a fresh cut to the crispy oily fish so nice contrast! The bun also delicious and has a slight crunch. I love when buns are toasted! We went to the yard and didn't realize they were a food truck so we were excited to order. They have a wide range of fried fish, oysters, calamari, and other things. The fish and chip is going to be my next try! They so offer a party option that ofceres everything to try which is nice. The seasoning of the fried fish is good and the fried also has this citrus hints to it and flavorful. Bf is really picky with his food, but he always finishes his meal when we eat at this place. Crispy, golden on the outside, delicately perfect on the inside; Baja Fish knows what fish and chips should be and they nail it. Simple. Tasty. And those fries! Honestly, I'd go back for just the fries. Also, the tartar sauce is on point! I don't like my tartar sauce too sweet and this had a deliciously dill tang that I love. Don't forget to mix some of that goodness up with your ketchup for an excellent fry sauce. I've also tried their fish sandwiches and you should too! So yummy! TL;DR - call it a 3.5 stars for now. I had a sandwich that my sister picked up for me. It was good but it didn't blow me away, and the fries got a little salty toward the end. Pretty satisfying, not too heavy, but I did want a little more by the end. ____________________ FISH SANDWICH: I wanted a Classic Style sandwich which was on the menu posted on The Yard's website, but apparently they don't make that anymore? So my sister got me the Ensenada Style and subbed tartar sauce for the cilantro lime crema (we're not fans of cilantro). It had sat for maybe 10-15 min by the time I ate, so I missed the crunch of the fried fish, but overall it was a good combination even with the substitution. The bread was on the soft side - I was wanting something a little more substantial as it fell apart on me by the last couple bites. FRIES: These come with the sandwich which is great. It's a bummer when fries are separate. They were good, but got a little salty by the end. My sister and her two friends also got sandwiches with fries, and we were all wanting a bit more when we finished our food. Overall, this was a good experience. I'm so disappointed that the previous owner had to sell. He had a quality product and assured me he would have new owners continue to deliver the same recipe and taste. It isn't. I have come twice thinking the 1st time they might be still working out the kinks, but today the breading was soggy (grease), and the coleslaw (which is extra now) was just chopped up cabbage with WAY TO MUCH mayo and a sugar. I don't usually give a five star right off the bat but I was quite happy with "Baja Fish". I got the two piece Fish & Chips, inside the hot af container was one big and one massive piece of fish. Slightly dark (like I like). The edges were crunchy giving way to a nicely crisp coating as you got further. The giant pieces were still hot when I got back to work. A couple beers deep, and these Fish and Chips were darn-near perfect. What can you say? Big hefty pieces, good portion of fries, and lemon or two.
