He got the one scoop chocolate oreo and I got a two scoop with pineapple coconut and strawberry basil. The icecream was sooooo fluffy and creamy. There are lots of tables and chairs to choose from and there's also a bar inside which is where the bathrooms are located. This place is vegan friendly as well with unique flavors like cherry pistachio. I'm not a cherry fan but I will say, that flavor was pretty good and same goes with the coffee one. I got one of the specials that they put together which was Horchata ice cream with marshmallows, I felt like she could have added more marshmallows ( got only 3 small pieces) because it was a great pair. I walk up to the counter and order a small brown sugar vanilla with waffle cone and the woman behind the counter asks which cone? Looking over at my choices I pick the bright orange waffle cone that must be packed with enough food coloring to make the most virile man sterile. It's flavored orange dreamsicle I'm told. Moments later my ice cream cone arrives and honesty it looks amazing. I take a bite and after a few seconds feel let down. My mixed emotions about soft serve ice cream kick in. Why can't this be a proper frozen custard? I ask myself. It would be so much better. All in all I wish this place would make exquisite custard instead of concentrating on all the gimmicky toppings and flavored waffle cones. Just get the basics right. The people here are not very friendly. That's not negativity. It's a fact. Never got a "hello" and usually I had to stand and wait because no one was behind the counter. Went last time with my husband and saw the woman go outside and just stand there on the phone so we waited a few minutes and left. The flavors are okay. Nothing mind-blowing. In all honesty I got a pint of ice cream at Roth's that was better and cheaper than the double at Slick Licks. ‍ The less-than-great flavors and shitty service are not a good combo. Took forever (over 20 minutes) with a small line. That's on the management to staff them better. After my 20 minute wait I was finally told they were out of Bananas. Is there a Banana shortage now? That's pretty basic for 1pm to be out of. Let down #2. At that point I was banking on the shake to bring home a 4 star becuase of the wait but that wasn't happening. Nope. I got a Fruitty Pebbles shake and it wasn't even mixed well. I came to the conclusion most of what they have are over priced vanilla ice cream smoothies with breakfast cereals. Big let down. 1 star is hard and you almost got it. Edit for the owner: I never ordered a "freeze". I ordered a Banana shake first and a fruity pebble shake to replace it. I wound up here after a recommendation from a friend, to treat my daughter and niece after a hard days work. The menu was reminiscent of Grease, with flavors named Pink Ladies Cherry and Bananny Zuko Split, but the experience and flavor didn't live up to the hype. My daughter (lactose intolerant) was able to enjoy Rizzo Raspberry, but the Oreo toppings we paid extra for ended up on the floor. She said it tasted more like a Pina Colada coconut than raspberry. We waited for the ice cream machine to cooperate for my niece's 'Tell Me S'more' in a cup, which turned out to be chocolate sprinkled with graham cracker crumbs (nothing special). Kenickie Dough had a weird aftertaste that I couldn't get past. Overall, they have great ideas, but need to work on their product. I paid $15 for 3 ice creams and left wishing we'd stopped at 31 flavors. P.S. It would be a good idea to have a trash can next to an outside eating area. read more

I really want to love this place, but it's getting harder and harder. My first visit, around October last year, was AMAZING. There were Halloween flavors that were shockingly accurate to the candy bars they were imitating. The cones were a little crispy, a little chewy, and soft. So delicious! The charcoal cones were just as good. Since then, it seems like the business is becoming a little stale. I've been there around 10 times, and it's like my experience is worse every time. For a while, they would be randomly closed on weird days, inconsistently. I can understand that a small business might not have super regular hours, but there needs to be a way for customers to know! I knew that this was a pattern so I checked Yelp and their website to see if they were open. Both sites said they were open, but when I go? Nope! It's not unprofessional to be closed sometimes, it IS to not let customers know. I went a few days ago, after a few months not going, and I was insanely disappointed. The woman working at the front didn't seem friendly or polite at all. We asked her about her favorite flavors, she said she only liked the vanilla. When we asked her about the Teacher's Pet (Apple flavor) she told us it didn't really taste like apple. She didn't seem to like the ice cream she was serving, and was definitely not selling it well to patrons. We found out that the cones aren't made in house anymore, which is pretty sad. They're just crunchy now, like any other cone. The lemon flavor (I forgot the name) was really delicious though! Super tart and delicious! The animal cracker machine was broken, but I can't fault the shop for that. Another thing about Slick Licks is the owner. If you look at her responses to criticism, you can tell she doesn't have any respect for people who put money in her pocket. If she's this rude to customers in Yelp, do you think she's treating her employees well? Even if she is kind to her workers, is someone who harasses a customer at the drop of a hat really worth your money? I'm starting to think no. read more

Wow I'm super disappointed. First of all when we walked in we weren't greeted at all. Then she came abs said in front of us as we were looking at the flavors. Then she says that's last months, look above you for this months. There were 6 flavors, none of which i was interested in. Vanilla, chocolate, coffee, macadamia, guava, coconut. My son picked chocolate with a chocolate cone. There were only 5 toppings to choose from. She got his ice cream, charged me for the middle size, and the ice cream barely covered the cone. For $7 i would expect some ice cream. I was really glad i didn't pick anything for myself. I'm heading to baskin robins now for a real ice cream cone. Only go to this place if you want to be ripped off while they disappoint you. Id post a picture but my son was done with the ice cream in less than a minute. It was so tiny. Based off my own experience and the experiences of others this place is just terrible, not to mention they have 4 health code violations, one of which includes CROSS CONTAMINATION. As a culinary student about to graduate it is disgusting you even stayed open with something like that. Cross contamination is a serious problem that can and will kill many innocent people. Not only that but the staff is rude, especially the owner with her passive aggressive replies in store and online. It's so you know Yelp is for reviewing the ENTIRE BUSINESS not just the bland ice cream. Why go somewhere with mediocre food when they have shitty staff? If I go to a business I want a great meal/treat with great staff. Not one or the other. Do better. Also the pandemic excuse is old, it's been over a year.
