Basket of rolls: apparently these are quite famous and I can see why. Light and airy and the garlic butter is to die for. I coding even get a picture of the full basket because everyone dig in too quickly BBQ russet potato fries: good cut of potato, good portion size but a little salty. The ranch was good and I loved the Marion berry bbq sauce. Lobster and shrimp stuffed mushroom: Wouldn't get again, but good portion size and great seafood. Street corn dip: too many chips for the amount of dip but it was warm and cheeses and delicious, was missing a little bit of spice. Coconut curry squash soup: BEST thing on the menu, 3 of us ordered more to go. Absolutely delicious. Caprese chicken radiatore: loved this pasta. For having cream and pesto I was surprised at how light this pasta was. Really good and didn't leave me feeling bloated. Loved our waitress, she was wonderful. Very quaint and italianesque. Came here for lunch with a friend on a weekday. It was very busy inside so we were lucky to get seating outside without having to wait. A few parties arrived after us and did have to wait for a bit. I had the cucumber refresher mocktail and the wild pear salad, both were great and I have no complaints. My friend got the quiche of the day with a cup of soup and an iced tea. I believe she enjoyed all of those. Service was good, especially given how busy they were, and we had a nice time! read more

The bowl was full of flavor and the curry soup was tantalizing to my taste buds. The curry was perfect. Erica our server provided great suggestions and when she went on break her team made sure we were well taken care of. Now to the crème de la crème their deserts. We shared a banan caramel cream cake that was a slice of heaven, the mixed berry cobbler was incredible. Not quite up to Texas cobbler standard but best in the northwest. Stopped in for lunch today and was surprised to see a special menu celebrating TẾT - VIETNAMESE NEW YEAR - Year of the horse They have a small menu with a signature dish and some specialty cocktails. I ordered the Thịt Kho Tàu which was a very tasty dish with caramelized pork, egg, and special seasonings served over rice and garnished with cucumber. I also tired the Lychee Paloma, a really nice flavor mix. Very refreshing. I wanted to try this place from the moment I moved here and im glad I did. I ordered vietmanese coffee it was strong and I enjoyed that. Pho it wasnt the best but the broth was ok. Lobster and shrimp melt that was amazing! It was soft melting. Argentine steak satay this was very tasty and I would order everytime I come here now. But there was so many other things I wanted to try but I have only 1 stomach and not much time. This place is a great place to bring a date or hang with friends it has a bar and also serve desserts! My wife remembered coming here years ago when she lived in the area and always recalled it being very good, so we decided to give it a try on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant is located downtown near the state capitol, surrounded by historic buildings. The street still has angled parking, which is a bit nostalgic compared to the usual parallel spots. We were able to find parking at the end of the block. We imagine it's much busier during the weekdays. Although the dining room wasn't crowded and we could see several open tables, we were told it would be about a 15-minute wait for our party of four. At first, we thought they might be understaffed. However, once seated, we noticed there were about six front-of-house staff working, which seemed more than adequate--perhaps the kitchen was running behind. The menu is extensive, with lots of creative options built around familiar bases. It's well put together, but almost a little too complicated. We looked it over, made our selections, and placed our order when a server came by. Throughout the meal, we had different staff members stop by, which kept things moving but also felt a little impersonal. The food did take longer than expected to arrive, but when it did, it looked great and everyone dug in right away. My one disappointment was with the French dip. I had asked for the garlic aioli on the side, but it came spread all over the sandwich mixed in with the onions and peppers. I ended up scraping it off, eating half, and leaving the rest. Overall, we really liked the building and decor. The menu is ambitious, the service was attentive though on the slow side, and the food was good--but nothing that stood out as exceptional. read more

I read that this is a busy place and expected a wait for a table. While it was busy, a table opened up quickly for us. The hostess as well as the server were very friendly. I got the kahlua pork sandwich. Dang, this sandwich was so good! The pork had great flavor and the Marionberry bbq sauce and the coleslaw was so good! Came here for lunch on a Friday and this place was pretty packed. We had a 45 minute wait and I was slightly annoyed by their wait process. As they called our name another party asked if they had been skipped, and they did, so they got seated ahead of us (not their fault). But it took another 15 min after that for us to get our table. While we were waiting outside, two new parties came in and put their names down, but I assume they asked if they could sit at the bar with no wait, and both parties did. I wished this option would have been communicated to us as well. Once we did get seated, I got a pho dip sandwich with pear salad. The pear salad is good and the sandwich was better than it had any right to be. The accompanying pho dipping broth was also good, salty for pho but good for dipping. We were doing through and needed to grab lunch and wild pear came up on our search! Boy are we glad to have stopped!!! The chicken salad is a must have! So delicious. Gluten free review: We found this little spot that you can dine outside. They had some gluten free options. I got the Wild Pear Burger with fries and my daughter got the BLT with house made chips. There were some issues with service. We arrived at 12:55 waited 10 minutes to be seated, not too bad. It was busy. We sat outside and continued to watch 2 families who came after us get their food eat and leave. We finally received our food at 2:00 pm. When I got my burger I had a bad feeling and asked again if it were gluten free. She asked and had to take it back to the kitchen to change the bun. Our waters were filled while we waited but no mention of here our food was until we asked. My burger was a 3 out of 5 stars. It was okay. Kind of dry and meaty tasting. I asked for no aïoli, and it came with aïoli at this point I was just going to live with it. The sweet potato fries were delicious I must say. My daughter says her BLT sandwich, placed in a gluten-free burger bun was four out of five stars. The chips looked good but tasted kind of burnt. We are chip lovers. I would try to eat here again because they do have a few options for gluten free but the service left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

This place was highly rated, and now I see why. We went on a Saturday, as one does, and went at about 12:30 p.m. The place was packed, which wasn't surprising, but there were just the two of us, so that worked out, and we were seated quickly. We ordered pretty quickly as well. There were many things to choose from, but we stuck with delicious sandwiches. They came with chips, which I believe are house-made. They were quick to refill our sodas there and we never wanted anything, despite the busyness of the place. They do catering here as well. It would be great to have something catered by them. I will come back here and try more of their offerings. It doesn't appear that they take reservations but another tip is that they have a counter so if it's just a couple of you that may be a way to go. read more

This is the perfect place to take people out of town or a stop for lunch during your road trip. It looked like it kept quite busy, but we were able to walk around the city during our 15 to 20 minute wait. There's only street parking but honestly, the city seems small enough that it shouldn't be an issue as long as you can walk around. I was visiting Salem for a half marathon and was struggling to find somewhere to eat as Salem seems to be a bit of a foodie desert. Ultimately I decided to try Wild Pear as it seemed warm and inviting when I was walking by. The dining area inside is intimate and they offer bar and outdoor seating as well. As I was dining alone, they asked if I was okay sitting at the bar, which I was. I started with their seasonal berry cooler cocktail, which was beautiful and delicious! It was almost too pretty to drink The menu had a good variety of enticing options, however I didn't want anything too heavy so I opted for the small Caesar salad. The salad was crisp, refreshing and not overly dressed. It was the perfect size for me, however they do offer a large size as well. The server was nice, but didn't check on me much, which is kind of odd for a bartender, especially as I was the only one at the bar most of my time there. She was also focused on figuring out a pay discrepancy on her check with the manager in front of me, which was a bit awkward.
