Stumbled in here quite by accident while walking around downtown. Food and service was surprisingly good. The atmosphere is great. I guess you could call it a Godfather themed restaurant with a particular emphasis on Peter Clemenza ("Leave the gun, take the cannolis") Is there anyone who doesn't love that? I think the server who helped us may have been the owner. Either way, she was beyond helpful and really so sweet. The food was delicious and well priced. Clemenza's Pizzeria solid local pizza place in Millburn attached to a full service restaurant (La Cucina Di Clemenza). My favorite here is the meatball slices. Tender well seasoned meatballs cut into slices on top of delcious pizza. People here are quite friendly and I love to pop in for a slice or two. Less crowded than other places and I don't know why. I think it is the best in town. Give it a try. Over a year later and I still really like the pizza here. Brussel sprouts were not roasted, they were desiccated. Too bitter to eat. The calamari was too chewy to eat. My Caesar salad wasn't even tossed. I think at $10, a place could do more than put some romaine on a plate and squeeze dressing over top. The sausage added to the pasta with sauce was a dry disappointment. And to top it off, the hostess was not exactly forthcoming. The desolation within throughout the whole service should have been our indicator of quality. read more

Eh, it is ok. With all of the great italian places around (Basilico, to name one), the prices are too high for the quality of food they bring out. Bread was cold and not very tasty for an italian restaurant, and there is no pepper on the table. They will only come around to grind pepper, they don't have pepper to leave on the table so we had to ask them to grind pepper in our bread plates so we could dip the cold bread in some olive oil/salt/pepper. My boyfriend's veal marsala was swimming in canned-mushroom tasting sauce and the vegetables were swimming in a sea of buttery oil. It wasn't awful but we expected better for the price. I ordered Linguine Tre with tomato, shrimp and asparagus and it wasn't bad. The sauce was pretty good, but it lacked enough asparagus for my taste. Shrimp was prepared well, and linguine was cooked well too, so no complaints there. My vegetarian friend wanted pizza in the dining room, which they seemed to frown upon. He has a favorite pizza next door (owned by same people) and they wouldn't let him order it. And another thing- the restaurant management has a really sketchy history. The owner's husband was involved in some kind of drug ring, torturing prisoners in his basement. No, I'm not joking- I wish I was. This is the reason the town denied the restaurant a liquor license. The people who work there are very friendly. The front of the restaurant is nice and cozy, but the back, not so much. We thought the service was very mediocre and the food was just average. I appreciated the size of the portions (soup, salad and spaghetti) because they weren't large like most places serve, but it was pricey for the amount of food provided. I didn't care for the ricotta cheesecake, but that may be a matter of preference as I hadn't had it before. Anyway, I don't think I'll go back. read more

La Cucina Di Clemenza used to be my favorite restaurant and then they changed it to Cucina 382. They cut the portions in half but left the prices the same. We asked for more bread and they gave us 3 pieces and charged us $7.00 for it. I asked why mashed potatoes no longer came with the salmon and was told they are off the menu and that the real chef only works weekends (we went on a Thursday) and the other chef was too moody to ask. So what did we get the fake chef?? My salmon was maybe 4 ounces at best and I had to ask 4 times to bring out my asparagus that came with it. I understand change but the charge for the bread was over the top. Then i saw on line it is called an appetizer. smh I will go visit Basilico from now on. Their bread is free and they give you a piece of Salmon big enough that you don't need to ask for a second basket of bread. Very disappointing, I gave them 2 stars because the salmon and dijon sauce was delicious, but my friends veal parm tasted really weird. Time for a change for me now. read more

Came with my mixed family and was immediately sat in the back of the restaurant. I haven't experienced this bad covert racism in the restaurant industry I was shocked. They sat us in the back amongst other African Americans and it felt as if we weren't to be seen. All white customers were sat in the front.The food then took an hour. I'm pretty sure the delivery guy spit in my food. Here's the thing: if you don't want to provide delivery as a service, then don't. That's cool. Not every restaurant does, and you don't have to either. But please, please do not accept delivery orders--especially via Grubhub--and then call angrily and ask for directions three times, when I clearly included the address as well as a note that 'this is the Hilton' (there's one Hilton. It's really big, and I found it with my crappy Apple Maps app.) Also, you clearly ignored my 'please include plasticware, thanks!' comment, with which I included a smiley face. :-) Anyway. After he called the third time to tell me he was arriving, I ran down to the lobby to retrieve my meal, and saw the delivery guy stalking off angrily. Ok. So I took said meal upstairs, discovered there was no plasticware, and went back down and asked for some. Still, at this point, I'm optimistic. I'm like: the meatballs got good reviews, and the sandwich I ordered sounded fantastic--chicken cutlet, fried eggplant, cherry peppers and mozzarella. How could you go wrong? Well, for one, the sandwich was cold. Like cold, cold. The cheese was coagulated, and the bread was mushy. And the ricotta that came with the meatballs was hot. Not sure how this temperature exchange occurred, but whatever. I figured that at least I could eat the meatballs. And I could have, had I not had extremely strong (negative) childhood memories of Chef Boyardee. The sauce was EXACTLY the same flavor/smell as canned ravioli, and the meatballs were a similar texture. Or, should I say, meatball--singular. As I threw the other one away, and only managed to suffer through half of the first one. Have you ever had Chef Boyardee? If you have, please take a moment to imagine the smell. It was spot on. Went here last night with two other couples. My wife made reservations through Open Table. Never heard of this place before and I was eager to try it based off a recommendation from a friend. My first impression when I walked in was, "Wow, what a really nice joint." I actually ran into parents of two of my friends who I haven't seen in LONG time. Nice to see them and catch up. We were promptly seated by the hostess. After being seated, who I presume is the owners wife brought over a complimentary basket of Focaccia bread since we booked our reservations through Open Table. Very nice gesture to start the night. For appetizers we ordered the meatballs, rice balls and fried calamari, and hot peppers. All I can say is Wow. There wasn't a scrap left on the table. I caught a really hot pepper that I felt for probably 20 minutes. For dinner, I had the The Clemenzas Sunday Gravy combo. It consisted of Rigatoni, Sausage, Meatballs and Braciole. IF I had room to finish it I would, so I got half to go for lunch today. Not sure what everyone else ordered as I was in the zone with my meal. For dessert, the owners wife again brought out a complimentary Tartufo. My wife put in the comments on Open Table we were celebrating a birthday and an engagement that night. The woman said she read the comments and brought this to us with a candle. Very night touch. Overall, the decor and the feel of the place is outstanding. There is an upstairs room I didn't get to see. With no liquor license, this is a BYOB. They have a bar in place and ready to go in what appears to be when they get a license. As a food blogger, an Italian, a Jersey girl and Godfather fan, I can say on good authority that this is an amazing restaurant. The food is wonderful; the chicken parm and the balsamic chicken are phenomenal, but I think my favorite (and a must-try) are certainly the meatballs. And the hot peppers side, which are always delicious. As a stickler for hospitality and dining-environment; I can say that the service and staff are all very friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant is both very clean and decorated beautifully. A great restaurant can accomodate all number of occasions as well; a date, dinner with the family (including kids), a large party, dinner with co-workers, or just for two if you're too lazy to cook. This is certainly one of those restaurants, and there's a pizzeria attached. But the best part? It's BYOB. Buon Appetito! read more

I've had two meals at this restaurant, one dining in and one take out. Frankly, the meal in was a lunch some time ago and I don't remember the details. The other day we had take out from La Cucina Di Clemenza and the food was almost entirely forgettable. Nothing was bad. It just ranged from meh to bland. The soups-- escarole and bean and pasta fagiole were probably the best things we had. They were decent renditions and had plenty of stuff in them. All in all I prefer Sofia's versions (right around the corner). Two pastas, cavatelli and broccoli and Iinguine Alfredo had very little flavor. A seafood salad was a strange rendition with only shrimp and crabmeat served with a honey mustard dressing on the side. Thank god it was served on the side so I could make my own dressing. Sausage and broccoli rabe was also disappointing. Quite a bit of broccoli rabe with lots of garlic, but not a lot of flavor. Salads were decent with fine quality greens. This is a restaurant you want to like. It is very pretty, but the food is pretty uninspired. I don't think I will try it again. read more

This place was pretty decent. The food was amazing, the friend calamari was prob the best I've had. My boyfriend ordered a pizza pie and I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. Both were so amazing. My only reason for not giving it five stars was the service. When we first came in the lady in the front seemed a bit off putting, being an interracial couple we get enough looks as it is (even in this generation) but she really made us uncomfortable. Then our waiter came and he was sooo nice, it made us get comfortable again and enjoy our meal, we even made sure to leave an extra big tip on the table for him we were very pleased, until we were leaving and i was waiting outside for my boyfriend to bring the car around and I heard our sweet waiter say some pretty rude stuff about him as he pulled up, I guess he didn't notice me standing two feet away. But other than that...it was delicious, and I will recommend it to others but me and my bf will prob not be coming back. read more

Service was very slow. The first hour consisted of ordering and eating our appetizers. After we told an employee that we had been there for over an hour (to which he unhelpfully responded "time flies when you are having fun") we received our entrees. Used to go here a lot (sometimes twice a week), but the quality of the food has gone WAY downhill, to the point where it doesn't even seem fresh. The pizzeria they own used to also be better. Now that it's staffed by kids who'd rather be elsewhere it's also a complete waste of time. The last time I was there it took 25 minutes from them to make me a chicken cutlet sandwich and both time when I asked about it all I got were mumbles and shrugs. The last couple of times we ordered pizza from here it was ice cold by the time we got it. They charge too much in this place for the quality of food and service provided and there are too many other cheaper/better Italian options in Millburn to even consider this restaurant now. read more

LOVE this place. Pizza baker has an attitude BUT because his pizza is worthy of an attitude. The place is divided in two; one side is an upscale Italian Restaurant for wooing your honey or family; other side is a small pizza place but both are very practical and gorgeous. Outstanding food, service and staff! I absolutely love this restaurant. My heart goes out to restaurant industry/family run businesses for all that they have endured throughout this past year with the global pandemic (and all who suffered in general, just terrible). I know that a lot of restaurants struggled and still continue to, especially with getting the help that they need. At Cucina 382, despite how busy they were during my visit, I could see that the staff were running around trying their best to make every single table feel at home. I think everyone needs to have patience with restaurants during this time as they recover/get back on their feet from being closed for so long. It seems like they host private parties/big reservations in the back and smaller groups in the front near the entrance. I was so glad to see that they had tables of 8+ plus people, I'd love to host an event here in the near future!! 5/5 Stars!! read more

Had a nice meal here on a quiet-ish weeknight (only a few tables in the resto but one was a hen party, so i guess you can say it's good for groups. Also, with 3 or 4 tables full in the resto, why did they seat us by the restrooms???). Caesar salad was ok, but some of the lettuce was going a bit brown. I really was hopeful of this place. When we walked in the atmosphere was so charming. They are still new at this location and do not have their bar open yet but that didn't really stall us. We ordered the broccoli rab and fried calamari for appetizers. Not impressed with either. The Rab was dry and the calamari was bland and gritty. For the main course I had the spaghetti and meatballs. The spaghetti felt tasted like something out of a can. Their was no seasoning and the meatballs were bland. My father ordered shrimp scampi with "skinny spaghetti" (we thought angel hair but who knows) and he said there was no taste and the pasta was dry. We gave the tartofu a chance. My ice cream was old and there were tiny horrible cherries with some kind of nut in it. It was just not a good experience. For the price it was not worth it and we will not be going back. read more

I have been here several times and haven't been disappointed yet. Even though I "want" to try new things, I tend to go back to my favorites. I typically order the braciole entree with a side of the HUGE meatball appetizer with the meal (warning these meatballs are enormous and 4 people can split them and still have some left over) - and I love the rice balls as the appetizer. So far I've only gotten two types of pizza from Clemenzas: The cheesesteak pizza, which is sinfully good, includes 3 different cheeses, a ton of steak, tri-colored peppers and ample caramalized onions... way to ruin my diet, Celemenza's!! ;P Their crust is also very yummy. It's flavorful and soft and just kinda perfect. Also tried their sicilian. It's not great but it's far from the worst I've ever had. Seems like the dough didn't have quite enough time to rise but both times I ordered it's been burnt more than I like. (Not a fan of burnt parts.) Have had no problems with their service, in fact, they're usually quite friendly and kind. read more

My boyfriend and I received a gift certificate to this restaurant so we decided to go last night. Overall, the place was average. They have a huge bar when you walk in, yet they don't serve liquor. Pretty misleading if you haven't done research or called ahead to ask. So that was a disappointment. Now for the food. We shared the focaccia appetizer which was tasty, but very salty. We also shared the crab cake special appetizer. That took awhile to come out. There was plenty of crab meat, but the bottoms were burned and the top, undercooked. My boyfriend ordered chicken parmigiana as an entree and said it was just ok - too much sauce. I ordered the spinach ravioli dinner special which again, was just ok. The service was fine, but a little slow being that the restaurant was not full. Would we go back again? Most likely not. read more

Because the pizza was so delicious, we went back for dinner in the main restaurant. It did NOT disappoint. Everything was wonderful. The staff was phenomenal. The portions were large enough to have take home lunch the next day. I had a chicken dish, like piccata, over penne in the same sauce. It was remarkable. In addition, there were over 10 tables and only one server. I love the decor to this place. It is very airy inside with high ceilings. My family came here on Valentine's Day, and the seafood dishes here are very good as well as the arancini. The fried calamari had a nice crispy coating and tender inside. My wife tried the Penne Cinque Cinque and the sauce was very flavorful. Daughter had the shrimp scampi which could have had a little more flavor but that may have been because the other dishes were more pronounced. I had the Linguini Tre, which everyone in the family said was the best. The dessert were good but a little pedestrian. They should jazz it up a little.. We went here on Saturday evening before a show at Paper Mill Playhouse. The place is super cute - looks like a little Italian village. I had the pear salad, which was small but delicious. My partner had the lobster bisque. She said it was good but a little bit salty. For dinner, I had the zuppa di pesce with white wine and garlic sauce, which was AWESOME! Tons of shrimp, squid, clams and mussels. Really delicious. She had the shrimp scampi which she loved. For dessert, we shared the banana cheesecake (bananas mixed into the batter - YUM) and the cannoli, which was killer. The waiter was attentive, but not overbearing. The check was $118 with the tip, so not cheap - but we loved it and we'll be back before the next show we attend. read more

I would give this place less than one star. The ambiance is way to try hard. The mozzarella was definitely not fresh along with the seafood. I even asked our waiter who appeared to maybe also be the owner. He said both were fresh. He seemed to be the owner as well based off the fact that in the middle of ordering our food he went to go take a call. It is also very rude to do that as well of course. I also saw one table sent their soup back. Someone recommend this place to me and I should've known not to go based off of the reviews. I find it odd that this place has been here for a while yet has so few reviews and not a lot of positive ones.
