It was our first visit to this bakery. We only noticed it because it was across the street from a Chinese restaurant we like. So we decided to stop in. The bakery is very clean and pleasant. As far is their deserts I wasn't impressed in the least. It was one and done kind of deal and don't think we will come back again. read more

I live in the area, and it is very difficult to walk by this place without stopping in. This is a good old fashion bakery that makes amazing desserts. It actually sells a humongous array of various cookies as well as traditional and modern pastries. I have never gotten anything that was not fresh from this place. Unfortunately, places like this one have been outrun by high fashion and high priced coffee shops, but I hope this places stays around for as long as possible. read more

I'll admit. The desserts look yummy from the outside. However, I've been in the back. Grotesque City. read more

Racists...One of my first jobs were at this bakery. I remember during the interview process being asked what religion I followed and why I was attending a Catholic school if my family is Muslim and what my thoughts were about 9/11. Keep in mind I was 14 at that time. The owners wife was kind to me (russian lady) his daughter who worked there as well made latent racist comments. read more

NOOOOOOOOOOO! CALORIES WASTED!!! Incredibly disappointed in the pastries and the service I received from Cuccio's. Based on yelp reviews, I tried a rainbow cookie and a raspberry filled donut (every day is my cheat day! hurrah!). Blahh the donut was boring (someone give me a Dunkin/Krispy Kreme STAT) and was reminiscent of the kind I can buy in a box at a supermarket. Fresh donuts are supposed to be fluffy like clouds of fried lard (Peter Pan donuts anybody?). The rainbow cookie was heavy on the almond flavor but lacked enough jelly in between the many pretty layers. Also, I arrived with 15 minutes to spare but it took the one girl behind the counter over 10 minutes to slowly get the order of the customer in front of me. Man I guess I'd hate waking up to work at 6 am too but if I could sneak in a delicious pastry or two, I'd be a happy piglet. She probably had a donut. read more

Cuccio's Bakery sits on the corner of 320 Avenue X in brooklyn, Ny. You enter and notice nothing flashy, nothing fancy but you look around and notice their slogan which is "the best buns in brooklyn!" I can honestly tell you that yes, they are the best buns in brooklyn! I will gladly recommend the jelly buns (my favorite), nutella donuts, cannoli, napoleon, crumb buns, St. Joseph and their mocha almond cake. Oh how I love their mocha almond cake! If you are a fan of bakeries and pastries or buns for that matter, stop into Cuccio's Bakery and stock up on their delicious treats. You will not regret it. You do not have to take my word for it, but I know you will love these items once you taste them for yourself. Eat safe and live to eat another day read more

What is great: the fresh bread, the fresh bread, the fresh bread. There is some kind of of wonderful, savory flavor in their bread. We always get seeded loaves, sometimes the ropey ones, some times the regular small or large. Regardless, everyone who tried this bread cannot believe how flavorful and delicious it is. We have to bring at least 3 loaves every time we visit our Italian cousins in New Jersey. For Thanksgiving, we got a turkey bread-- just their amazing bread in the shape of a huge turkey. Needless to say, it was a hit and everyone wanted to take some home with them. What else is great: the cakes, especially the chocolate, and he lemon meringue pie is out of this world, not cloyingly sweet, with just the right proportions and tartness. Finally, the prices are still great. They are renovating right now, and they definitely deserve a beautiful, modern place. We look forward to it reopening, as we have to pre-order bread these days. And lastly, what was the one business open during Hurricane Irene? Cuccio's! When we asked the teenage girls at the counter how they were getting home, they just shrugged and said, "Our parents will pick us up." read more

I recently purchased a cake and mini fruit tarts from this place for my mom's birthday. I have never tasted such fresh fruit tarts, it was so delicious I regretted not buying more! The fruit was so fresh and the filling was not too sweet, it was a perfect balance. The cake was okay not really a fan of the mix between strawberry jam and chocolate cake but overall it was good. It tasted fresh and I would know about freshness I worked 6 years in several bakeries and know that not all places sell fresh cakes and pastries! So if you're in the area stop by and enjoy! read more

Cuccio's Bakery - Fresh fruit tarts! Perfect balance of fruit and filling and not soggy at all, hope to buy some more soon! - Bakeries Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

My grandma and Ma have been going here for centuries... Everything is always fresh and delicious. Rainbow cookies, cheesecakes, red velvet cake. And they have Italian ices in the summer! Love love love read more

I highly recommend Cuccio's Bakery for your wedding cake. They have been around for 50+ years and I now see why. I worked with Janet, their cake designer and she was amazing. I brought in a photo of what I wanted and she executed my vision perfectly. My cake was gorgeous and they worked within my budget which was so hard to come by in a city like NY. The cake was delicious and everyone loved it. She gave me different filling and icing options and the cake exceeded our expectations. I cried when the brought it out for us to cut - it was GORGEOUS! Live peony flowers cascading down the side - it was amazing and delicious. A+ vendor all the way. Thanks Cuccios. - Angie and Rodney read more

Being new to the neighborhood and having the need to buy a cake for a friend's 40th birthday soiree, I did some bakery research and came across Cuccio's. Having read the great reviews and looked at the lovely cakes on their website, I figured that I'd give this bakery a whirl. I ordered a chocolate mousse cake with a chocolate ganache. When asked what type of sponge, I requested Devil's Food. Unfortunately, the girl that took my order didn't know what that meant. I tried to explain that it was like dark chocolate which either didn't make sense to her or she couldn't be bothered and wrote chocolate. At that point, I hoped for the best...lol. Overall the cake was tasty and had a nice design but I can only give it four stars because a dark chocolate sponge or Devil's Food would have made it all the more better. Next time, I will have a word with the baker directly. read more

Awesome as usual. I'm addicted to the jelly but I tried cream filled and it's slamming good

Open early. Fresh bakes and goodies coming out of the oven. Owner is a total charmer & great service! Great prices and you can get yourself a quick pastry and coffee for less that $3. Its open around 6am for the early birds and I'm not sure what time they close but I enjoy coming here to fulfill my sweet tooth. I enjoyed the croissant with chocolate inside since I'm a chocolate fanatic ! I also ordered a fruit cake from them and it was really good and fresh. The cannolis are suppose to be one of the best, haven't tried them out yet but they look really good from the window. Good convenient fresh neighborhood bakery that's been around for decades! read more

Cuccio's serves up typical Italian and American pastries, cookies, and cakes that you find around Brooklyn. It's certainly on par with most of the bakeries in the south Brooklyn area in regards to quality and prices. I picked up platter of cookies and a cupcake. The cupcake had a balanced consistency between lightness and denseness; the icing was rich. My only critic is that the visibility of some of the goods was blocked by counter space. read more

I visited this place with a friend and I absolutely loved it. I had a latte and a chocolate pastry with raspberry. I would visit NYC again just to go back to this place. Haha. I'm joking, but also serious. read more

They don't skimp on portion size here! Red velvet cupcakes were very moist and icing wasn't too dense. The fruit tarts were okay... the glaze that holds the fruit together could have been a little bit less watery. read more

I'm sure everything tastes good, but they've been a bit skimpy on the goods. I wrote a whole article about my experiences with the poorly filled cannoli. I have only tried a few of their cookies and some mocha cake. The linzer tarts were very small and not enough jam filling. The mocha cake had a great taste, but the mocha flavoring was only in the frosting (which was very fluffy). Definitely read our whole review before heading out there. read more

Best bread, pastries, cakes and buns EVER! Prices very reasonable. Going there since the early 70's. God bless Tina.

I don't understand why it says it's closed on Saturday cuz it's opened! The cake was $5 cuz it's from Halloween, but wow it tastes good! It's not overly sweet, and just the right flavor. Also the ppl were nice too. I like it! :) read more

Cuccio's Bakery - $5 cake! Eek! - Bakeries Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

This place is clean , fairly priced and overall okay . The staff is mostly slightly attractive young girls selling the merchandise , Mexican bakers and a small pastry chef . This place is overrated and is running on its reputation to pull it to 4 stars since it opened a long time ago . Average in all around , nothing special or bad in my option . read more

This is a GREAT PLACE with very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly people! AND ALL their baked CAKES, cookies, pastry, etc ARE AMAZING, too... They listen to you and help you in any way possible. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING you could ask FOR IN A BAKERY!!! I'D recommend them to EVERYONE !!! read more

So far I had really good experience with desserts at that place, and we had purchased desserts more than 10 times there. I believe the issue of not fresh desserts (as some reviewers have mentioned) is that this place is never crowded and unfortunately some products expire before they get sold. But if you get the fresh desserts it's very nicely made. If you don't like that place Michael's Pastry Shop is an excellent alternative to go to. read more

Cuccio's Bakery - Too sweet - Bakeries Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

A very large selection of sweets, pastries, cakes, donuts, breads, desserts, and cookies. My favorite of all donuts here is the French Cruller. Every time I'm in the area, I stop by to get one. The Apple turnovers are also very good. During the summer, there's a variety of Ices to choose from, as well as delicious coffee year-round. read more

Cuccio's was our family bakery for 3 generations. It is an intrinsic part of Sheepshead Bay. My Aunt lived in the same bldg and had a dry cleaning business with her husband . Very fond memories of Italian cookies and pastries. Even when we migrated to California, we never forgot Cuccio's and dad, having been born and raised on E. 12th St and Ave. X, always "encouraged" my Brooklyn relatives to bring a couple of boxes of goodies....or else! Still a good buy and delicious! read more

I have been coming to Cuccios for almost 20 years when I'm in the area. I loved their layer cake with the chocolate icing/ganache. It's always behind the register..MY FAV! unfortunately not anymore. They changed it last year and I didn't buy it for quite some time. Went by there yesterday and tried again, won't be doing that again, they changed and ruined the cake. Why play with a great simple cake..? Their donuts were always good, love the jelly and boston cream. You have to eat the cream the same day though, goes bad the next. Best boston creams though tastes like good vanilla pastry cream inside. Other cakes aren't bad and hamantashen are good. Just sad about that layer cake it was always my favorite and now it's just plain bad. read more

Best Onion Roll I've ever eaten, Nuff Said! By the way, everything else is also amazing.

Wait....there was a Cuccio's in Park Slope about ten years ago, then the owner had a career change and closed it down. Is he related to the the owners of this bakery? Are they the same family? Because if they are, I still dream about that bakery. read more

A huge disappointment. Ordered baby gender reveal cake from them. Asked for strawberry cake if a girl and blueberry cake if a boy. Never found neither strawberry nor blueberry inside. The cream was colored pink and had a slight taste of strawberry. Maybe that's the way people have it, but I expected to see actual strawberries or blueberries inside. Caused a lot of confusion at first, until we finally figured it's all about the color. Definitely not the way we wanted or ordered it. Cake was ok, nothing to brag about. Will not order from them again. read more

This is a pretty good Italian bakery. They have a very old school feel and make some very good products. I love their Italian cookies, especially the Savoiardi and Anisette biscuits. They also make AMAZING Italian bread here and people line up on weekend to get it. This place has THE BEST rainbow cookies in the world. Hands down! Period.

Cuccios is not a russian bakery and has nothing to do with Brighton Beach. Ave.X is predominantly Italian, has an Italian dessert and ice cream restaurant, a Knapp St. pizza restaurant(fabulous) and caters to Italians and Jews. It has italian breads, jewish challah and rolls, and great pastry of many kinds. If you need a special cake for a special day, this is the place for you. Brighton Beach has many russian bakeries and I have never seen a russian customer in Cuccios. Russians go only to russian stores, for everything. Brighton Beach may be a short ride to Ave. X, but it may as well be in Kansas. read more

Sort of a mixed review, but now that I have the 'figured out', I know when to shop there for cakes. So I tried this place three times over the past year or so. Each time, as other reviews state, the goods were clearly not fresh. So I gave up on them. Today, well over a year later, my cousin and his new wife come over to my place for coffee and 'they' bring the cake. It's from Cuccio's Bakery. It was in a very big box and when I opened it it was a giant strawberry short cake. It was big, it was beautifully decorated with a flair at the bottom of the cake and it was loaded with filling. I didn't tell my cousin my experience with stopping in there and being disappointed. But in conversation over the coffee and cake, he said he called ahead and ordered the cake, so that it was fresh. Worth knowing. I do want to truly say that this was by far the best strawberry short cake I have had in tons of years. Super fresh, again, ordered that day filled with delicious filling and cream and topped with beautiful strawberries. I'm going to order one every so often for myself! Just me! read more

Great Italian Bakery. Both the bread & the pastries are excellent. Came here from Coney Island. It was worth the short trip.

I am sitting I my kitchen in Tucson, AZ, 37 weeks pregnant devouring Cuccio's rainbow cookies and cannolis. Absolutely to die for and the BEST! When my sister goes back home, it's a given she is coming back with the goods. Love you sis and love you Cuccio's!!! read more

Great neighborhood bakery that's been around forever!! Their buns are really good especially.

I'm sorry to see some bad reviews here. In the last few years I've been coming here I've never gotten anything but fresh cake, donuts and pastries. I made a pitstop on the way home from my moms house and got a Boston Cream donut, which was wonderful! At least they put real vanilla pastry cream in there and not whatever that stuff is that Duncan D. puts in, no flavor in that at all. And their jelly donuts I also love. In the last few weeks I've seen people picking up BD cakes that were beautiful, the people saying how great all the BD cakes were in the past. Their pound cake and hamantashen are very good too, cake slices and the hard iced layer cake is also very good and fresh. French crullers I love and the crumb buns are a fav of my moms. I guess everyone's got an opinion but I've never had a bad thing in this bakery. The 4 stars is only bc it's not close enough to me! read more
