Tried to have a conversation with Jamal or Jamil....All he did was belittle and scream at me. Would not let me get a word in. Then he started threatening me. Claimed he's the manager & can talk to me any way he feels. Eventually I had to scream at him back just to be heard. I feel sorry for any women who have to work with him. Update: I had emailed them over a year ago requesting a call back per their instructions and have yet to ever get a response. I even had to call to eventually have the auto pay turned off and couldn't do it in the front office. I don't like to dwell on the past but felt it necessary to let any future customers at cubesmart know that they can do better and look elsewhere as they don't care about their customers or your belongings. If I could give zero stars I would. Your belongings aren't safe here. They allow units to be robbed repeatedly with no protocol in place to increase protection. You are forced to pay for insurance that literally covers Nothing. Theft isn't covered. Most nice items won't be covered. It's a total scam. There's a chance employees are involved. They're suspiciously uninformed and unhelpful with regard to these issues, even defensive. One employee in particular, Rose, was extremely rude in an already stressful and distressing situation for us. Maybe have trash cans available for customers. We paid over $300 a month and expected our things to be safe. The least employees can do is be kind and respectful. Not look up your number in the system to harass you after you leave the facility. I started renting a 10x20 temperature controlled unit in December of 2021. My first initial 3-4 months were great. Since maybe April of this year things have really changed. The place is very dirty and seems to not be managed properly. There have been dead bugs, dirt, and grime in the hallways that have been sitting there for months. My rent has also gone up to over $400 now. Lastly, the air does not even circulate in the building and it is no longer temp controlled.You would think the cleaning standards would be up to par this day and age. See the pics below. UPDATE: they still haven't reached out to me! They told me it takes 48 hours to get in touch with me after I emailed their "help" account. 1 week later, still nothing. I will continue to leave 1 star reviews every week until this is resolved. So yourself a favor, NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. I used this location for a few years. Never had issues. But when it came time to move out, I called and told them I'm leaving by end of June. They said no problem, that I'd be good to go as long as I was out. This place will raise your rents every six months. I pay autopay so they get their rent on time everytime and I have excellent credit. So not a disgruntled loser customer. When you get there, the entrance door to the building is ALWAYS broken, and hanging off it's hinges. So much for keeping your stuff secure. When it rains they put trashcans out to catch the rain, as it is leaking to the inside of the storage units (instead of repairing the roof... but yet they raise rents every six months. MY TRAILER WAS STOLEN FROM HERE!! I recently purchased a travel trailer for my 45th birthday in February. I entrusted Cube Smart with the storage of my trailer, being that they have cameras, gated entry etc. I parked my trailer on-site on 2/23/23, and it was stolen on 3/7/23. I haven't even made one payment on the trailer and it's gone. David (General Manager) was able to see who stole my trailer on camera, and because of the code they used, he also has all of their information (license plate, phone number etc) and refused to give the information to me or the police officer. Claiming he needs a subpoena. Whose side are you on? the thief or your customers? Why aren't you doing everything you can to get my trailer back? He literally sees who stole my trailer, and will not help the police get it back for me. I even offered to not press charges. Just call the guy, and tell him to bring back my trailer. Still nothing. Come to find out my trailer is the 3rd trailer that's been stolen from the SAME GUY USING THE SAME CODE!! And they are doing nothing to support law enforcement or to help me as a customer/victim. Here We go! Jamil was a rude person that doesn't belong in customer service business. Instead of making resolution of the problem he fight you and blame you from his mistake. He wants me to move my RV to another spot because he said that its to big on my existing spot. I was with him when he issued me my spot and now hes telling me that its my fault that my RV is to big for my parking and i need to move it to another spot which is more expensive. Edit: in response to the owner, we have already emailed to that email address and we were told they would get in touch with the district manager who would give us a call but we have yet to receive one. I don't see why we have to continue to email and call, we should be receiving the call you should be reaching out to us. This has been ongoing for months. Over charged by 2 months after we canceled our spot and removed our trailer. After countless phone calls to the store, to customer service, and email to corporate we are still waiting for our money to be returned. This place is terrible. Been there since 2020. Rent raised every 6 months. Customer service sucks. They don't care and told me that they have zero control over rates. I been with this facility for a long time and never had issues with them till late last year and this month. I had my storage unit broken into 2 times by someone cutting the locks off. One in November and this month Feb 2021. So i moved out of that unit and i purchase a new unit. Would of been nice from them to get either a discount on my new unit or something because of the theft break in. They did apologize for the theft break in. The employee there says it has great security but if you know that their has been a break in into your customers units, you should take high measures either hiring a security guard to walk around patroling or installing more security camera's in the hall ways of the storage units. Yesterday as i was leaving i noticed that the front entrance gate is broken and its open a little enough so someone can slide in to get inside without pressing the security codes. I mean overall It is a great facility and the people working there are fantastic but seriously they need to get better security. I have to agree with Steven W. This place is definately is not on my list of storage facilities. In fact do not rent from Pechanga parkway, Temecula location. My unit was ransacked and every box was compromised and specific items were stolen. When I approached management requesting logs regarding entry along with every time my unit door was opened I was told that that information was not available. They raised my unit price $100.00 after 2nd month. I was paying $393.00 month. This place is a scam. I moved out as soon as I had confirmation my items were taken. I had pictures of when I first moved in. I believe this could be an inside job. I clearly did not violate any policy, my unit was emptied and cleaned. I was charged for the next month when I closed my contract with the facility. Since my payment was already processed, (early) now they do not want to give me my money back..Thank goodness for my bank. So long story short, Management handed me a pamphlet and told me to make a claim. Thats it. Do not use this facility. I've learned my lesson the hard way. I called to inquire about a 5' x 10' storage unit. I was quoted a price, but was told there weren't any available. Later, I received a phone call that one had opened up, so I stopped by. Because it was close to my house and convenient, I decided to take the unit, even though it looked dirty inside. I was then quoted a much higher price on-site than I was quoted over the telephone. I was forced to buy a lock from them, even though I had my own. I was also forced to pay for insurance, even though I had written proof from my insurance company that anything we put in the unit was covered. I asked for a credit back for the insurance and was told "no." It's not about the money; it's about integrity. I ended up putting NOTHING in the unit, and canceling after the first month. DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE FACILITY!!!!!!!!!! We had our stuff in here and just recently picked it up, EVERYTHING is infested with COCKROACHES!!!!! I'm not talking about little ones either these things are MASSIVE! Hundreds of them. So now that I paid $230 a month for a storage that I thought would keep all my belongings safe I have to throw everything in the trash! Called the office and the main cubesmart hotline and they keep saying that they can't do anything about it and it's just my loss. Not their responsibility at all. They told me to call the insurance place that they provided for an extra fee every month and the insurance place is even worse to deal with! This is my first storage rental. But I truly enjoy how wonderful the staff is. The place is always clean. My storage area seems safe. I just don't like the creepy quiet music lol. It reminds me of a movie. I just suggest maybeeeeeeee making the music a little louder so I'm not looking behind my back assuming someone is playing the music. Overall. I really recommend this place. When I drove up with my rig, met with the office personnel and found out they CHANGED my location to a completly unsatisfactory spot. Very overpriced, and disappointed with what you get for the price. If our family was in state we would have all of our/their belongings moved asap.( will save up soon to do so anyway ) Our first day moving in, we noticed they give you a complimentary moving truck. So We reserved it for the morning .we showed up to pick it up and was told someone else took it, despite our reservation, and wouldn't be able to provide one now. Which lead us to last minute scrambling and paying a lot more to move, then anticipated. Also we pay so much for insurance and "climate control" but I'm not sure why, because every time it sprinkles the roof caves in and water flows into all the units, there are no covers so yes your things get soaked. We have black mold, puddles, water stained and permanently damaged belongings now. And the insurance covered hardly anything, as it's only for 2000$ worth of damage. So much for climate control. Even the restroom has no roof , just a giant hole, from I'm assuming a collapse. Very disappointed, again, we will be moving our things elsewhere , we haven't even had our unit for a year. :( read more

As of today, 6-23-18 we have come to an agreement. I am pleased to say that the company cares about customer service and is being fair about our disagreement. Thank you Cubesmart for listening and being proactive instead of reactive. Update* The door to our storage was to be repaired today, 06-26-18. At 3:45 I went to Cube Smart to ask them when the repairman would come. The repairman did not show up so we were told that they promise to be out Thursday 6-27-18. I must now put my moving team on hold and hope they can come when we can get into the unit. We were to be moved out in April when the door broke. They did not show up... 06-27-18- 3rd time the doors will not be fixed today. The vendor flaked out again for the THIRD time this round. Arranged for tomorrow. 6-30-18. On the 28th they didn't show up. Yesterday the 29th we signed a form allowing The manager of Cubesmart to accompany the technician into our unit because this entire week we have arranged our schedule to accommodate a technician that did not show up. Our lives have Revolved around this screw up for almost 3 months. We were told the door is fixed. I will go in on the first day I can get there. I hope it is working. read more

Went to sign in new contract 5/24/2020 and open a small 5X5 unit. We had reserved this unit weeks ago, told the price, and double checked on the unit being set aside for us. After 20 minutes of over phone filling out paperwork ( Coviv-19 safety protocol ), was told we can NOT use our homeowners insurance, MUST pay for theirs! As a final insult, as the agent reads total due for this move in, there is a $$ amount for a lock ! We told her we have a Heavy duty lock in hand, ( Public storage in another city) which needed to meet a P.S. units requirements. No, we have to BUY THEIR LOCK !! The agent was very polite and understanding, it is Cube Smart Management that I will never rent from again, or recommend to anyone. As a side note, my girlfriend is a Travelling RN, works at hospitals all over the U.S. We have rented over 10-12 storage unit in the past 14 years, Big name and local Mom&Pops, never had our lock denied, never had to pay insurance when showing our Homeowners policy. read more

Due to a quick sale of our home, we were required to place all of our belongings in storage until we purchased a new home. CubeSmart was the closest location for us, making it the easiest choice. I read mixed reviews, which made me nervous, but they have been AMAZING from the start. When calling in to request a quote we were connected to a call center. The customer service was amazing and really helpful in selecting the appropriate unit. While I normally hate call centers, CubeSmart does an excellent job in this arena. Not only does it allow you to talk to someone 24/7, but your call is answered quickly, and they are honest about whether or not they can answer your questions. When I called in regarding a specific question, they instantly connected me to the manager of our specific store who was able to help us. The call center agent also helped us find a great deal for 1/2 off our first month of storage! Our unit was indoor, clean and temperature controlled. The units are inside of a secured gate, and each renter is given a unique gate code so they can track who is in/out and when. We had only anticipated using the unit for one month. Due to a nightmare experience with the moving company we hired, we had to leave our stuff in storage for a week longer than originally planned. When I called to explain the situation to the manager she was extremely empathetic and helped us tremendously with pricing for the additional month. I know that she definitely did not have to help us with the pricing, and her sincerity really meant a lot to our family. Overall- this has been an amazing experience during a very stressful time! Over priced and unsecured. We stored our travel trailer here for two years because there was not a spot anywhere else when we bought our trailer. The price increased about a year ago with no extra amenities offered. But, again, no where else had room. Our trailer was broken into while stored there. Probably homeless person because nothing was taken, just evidence of break in and sleeping in the trailer. We were offered to be put on the waiting list for an inside spot (rather than outer perimeter). It happened again but the tv was stolen. Again, we looked for somewhere else to store but nothing available. It has been broken into a third time. Damage to locks and blinds and property taken. We will not leave it there again. No one answered the phone or returned calls even though someone lives on premises. The light behind our trailer was not operational. Trees are over grown on fence line making areas easy to climb. Security cameras are not on fence line and are not covering RV parking area. Don't park here if you care about your RV. read more

I have to share my experience as a warning to those seeking out a self storage. We had our entire household goods stored at this location almost 2 years. We resided in San Diego and only came to the storage to either place recently purchased items or get clothes. In April 2019 I went to the storage to do exactly that but upon opening up the unit i noticed there was more space in the front and didn't see our (2) large home speakers (50 lbs each), one of 55" TV was missing and everything looked out of place. I just thought that maybe my husband may have removed them to another area of the storage to give us more room. Well I asked him later in the day if he moved them and his reaction was why would I? I then told him that I didn't see them. When he said he didn't touch them he immediately drove up from San Diego to check on our storage. When he got here he noticed the missing items and called the police. I also reached out to the Manager, Brandon and told him the situation. Temecula police was called out took down all the information and Brandon said he would review tape footage to see if he could find anything suspicious. I realize that there were hours and hours of reviewing to be seen but this was suppose to be a secured storage with surveillance and so something out of the norm should have popped up. When i followed with Brandon he said he reviewed the times we came in/out of the unit and couldn't really tell if he seen us take it due to the grainy footage. My husband and I rarely went up together due to our schedules. These speakers were 50 lbs each and it took the both of us to carefully unload it and store it. My husband noticed that the hinge on the roll up door was loose and that the back doors were very poor and didn't line up with the wall. He asked Brandon to change the lock which he did. When the (2) officers came out the corridor leading to back storage doors reeked dog marijuana. This was brought to Brandon's attention. He shrugged his shoulders and we took it as he wasn't concerned. I know that thieves are very smart nowadays and I for some reason can't shake the feeling that this was an inside job! The ladies in the office of course showed no type of concern other than reminding us when the rent was due! Delmy was very helpful in the beginning but became very rude towards the end. Patricia well she just goes with the flow and until the string is pulled from her back she decides to speak. I believe that if they showed more concern since there are other tenants who may fall victim too I think I would feel much better but because the lack there of that's why I feel the way I do. I feel that Brandon most of all was part of this robbery. That's my opinion and not a fact but I'm sure God will sort this out and the truth will come to light! read more

If it wasn't for Patricia and her great customer service, i was going to cancel my unit on my first day yesterday. My first day of moving things in, the so called general manager "Brandon" was the worst manager I've ever came across. I had extremely heavy couches and there was an open parking spot where my unit was literally about 50 steps away. I wanted to unload my couches since it was closer to my unit. Roughly it would've taken me 5 minutes to unload. Then I was going to move to another designer area. But Brandon "General Manager" came out yelling "You can not load here. This is not loading zone you need to move NOW." Remind you, there is no signs saying I can't park or unload in that area. Prior to me unloading my stuff there was a Caucasian couple with a trailer and pick up truck parked in the red area and nothing was said to them. I asked Brandon what happen with the people parking in the no Parking Zone and then stated "There to sitting in there car." As Brandon continued to TRY to get a point across and talking to me as if I was a little kid. I told Brandon that he was being VERY disrespectful and that I would not tolerate him speaking me in that manner. I had my little bro and his friend with me and Patricia was there to witness this entire situation. As Brandon is continuing his rant, he said you need to move now. I then stated "If I don't." Brandon then threaten to call law enforcement. As I close my U-Haul I walking into the office to speak with Patricia and asked her if I could buy plastic wrap for my couches. Brandon is walking around with a smirk on his face. I then stated that "I heard about you in the reviews" a then he stated "Well you should've listened to yelp" and then laughed. As I am trying to calm down, my father then shows up and Brandon acted as if he didn't do any of this. He told my father that he apologized and that he told me nicely to move my U-Haul, which was completely false. I've never encountered anyone with such disrespect. Corporate or whoever is Brandon's boss needs to watch the tapes and ask the staff about this situation. I will do whatever it takes to get my voice is heard. This situation was completely uncalled for. When my father stated that there was no signage Brandon said "I've been trying to get signs for over 3 years now and they won't come out to do it." Which isn't our problem. I paid $200 for this unit and got treated like total crap. If corporate is reading this PLEASE contact me and PLEASE ask your staff about this situation. (review for normal storage) Giving one star is being nice. They do NOT deserve any stars at all. Got a storage unit here because 1) it's the closest storage place to my apartment and 2) there were so many good reviews on here. First of all, MANAGEMENT doesn't manage anything. For some reason, they cannot seem to manage to take their lock off my storage unit. That's a huge problem because that means I have absolutely NO ACCESS to my own storage unit that I PAY FOR. I can't put the things in there that I need to. I work 5 days out of the week. I wake up at 4 AM to go to work and don't get home until 8 at night. On weekends, majority of the people willing to help me haul all my things into my storage are unavailable. I have a washer and dryer that I (weighing at a whopping 125 lbs) can barely move myself. To top it off, I have a Nissan Altima. How can I fit ANYTHING in there?! I asked them to use their truck and they said it is unavailable. I have gone there at least once every other day and have seen two of their trucks just sitting there!!! They said they would call me when they have a truck available, not once have I received a call. I've gone there in the weekend asking them to take the lock off and the lady in the front desk says she can't do it because the manager is the one who is supposed to do it. MANAGER IS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. EVER. Second of all, lady in the front told me that manager lives on site for people who can't make normal business hours. I go at 6 or 7 (decent time) to ask management to take lock off, he is no where to be found. Lady then told me next day that I'm supposed to call the 1800 number, called it, it's customer service.. in PENNSYLVANIA. Spoken to three different people from customer service, first told me he could not get a hold of manager and if they don't call me back in 15 minutes, call customer service again. Waited 30 minutes just to be sure, called again, this guy told me he got ahold of manager, but manager can't open because it's not regular business hours then hung up. Called once again and then this guy also got ahold of management, manager then said he is an hour away from location, customer service guy told me to wait at CubeSmart until he comes. I'm livid that I have to sit here and wait an hour for this guy to come. So I thought I would write my final thoughts on this place. I'm going to be asking for a reimbursement from the storage unit that I haven't used AND a reimbursement for the money I had to spend to get a uHaul truck because they apparently had no truck available for me to use. This review is for RV STORAGE ONLY, NOT a regular storage unit. Everyone there is very nice and I'm sure I would be very happy with a normal storage unit there, but I do NOT recommend them for RV storage. The staff that works there is the reason this isn't a 1 star review for the RV Storage. It feels like it wasn't designed for RV storage, it's very tight and hard to get around the lot in an RV. I have a 32 foot 5th wheel and I almost hit other RV's and the sides of some of the storage units multiple times in the short time I was there. I signed up, then tried to park my RV and realized it would be a nightmare to do on a regular basis and left after 90 minutes of trying to get it parked. That's probably why they have RV spaces available when most other places in Temecula do not. It feels like they just tried to cram the RV spaces in as an afterthought. Also the phone setup there is crazy. You call a local number, then get put through their national call center to try to get connected to the local office, it's a pain. Like I said, very nice people working there and if you want normal storage I'm sure it's fine (they should fix the issue with the phone number though) but for RV storage it's not good unless you have a very small trailer and you are an expert at parking it. I will admit I'm not a seasoned expert at parking a 5th Wheel, but that's only 1 problem. The "alleys" in between the storage units are very narrow and it's very easy to scrape the side of your RV when trying to turn down the alleys. If you are looking for a normal storage unit, I'd definitely give them a chance, but for RV Storage, I'd keep looking. read more
