Honestly this has been the WORST move ever. First of all they send one person and they don't know where the other guy is that is supposed to help. So he has to leave to go get the other guy. They come back 2 hours later with two trucks which is not what we asked for. And as they're moving, they're rushing, being very careless. They put a hole in the wall, lots of scrapes on the walls and scratched up our fridge and washer/dryer They're packing the truck in a weird way to where they cannot fit everything. Since time is ticking they say we have to go. One of the trucks would not start. So as time is ticking, they're trying to get the truck to start. I understand that this is out of their control but we are still being charged for the time we utilize them. After paying for their services we still had to rent a uhaul to do the rest ourselves. So unprofessional. Would not recommend!!!! First of all this is not a fake review. My mother booked you guys. and this happened on the 29th of June. Do not use this company. I had 1 item that I needed moved from the ground floor to a room upstairs. It was a large chair with built in bed. It was heavy and awkward, which is why I wanted professional movers to assist. I have used other moving companies locally but I used The Student Movers based on a recommendation. Don't make the same mistake I did. I appreciate that the crew was timely and called first, but that is the extent to which the service was good. It was clear they didn't have the tools they needed to do their job. No shoulder dolley was provided to the crew, or straps to secure the item. They use colorful language in our home (we don't really care, but is certainly not professional). In moving the item they damaged multiple spots on the wall and the door frame to the new location. My real issue isn't with the crew, but rather with management. This company will make nothing but excuses when you reach out with concerns. They have repeatedly told me that the crew is A+ because one of them is a NCAA Div 1 athlete and the other is a veteran. This is clearly a tactic to save face for online reviews, but has no merit to the reality of the poor service they have provided. I appreciate the company providing opportunities to these individuals, but not at the expense of your customers. If I could give this company negative stores I would!! I am so disgusted by them! We booked them for our move yesterday snd we were suppose to have 3 movers. While 3 movers showed up, one mover decided after sitting on his behind for an hour smoking (literally) that he didn't want to work anymore and left before the truck was even half way loaded!! We hired a moving company so my husband wouldn't have to worry about loading and unloading and such but that's exactly what happened! He did more work then 2 out of the 3 movers we were suppose to have. To top it off, my husband was charged THREE TIMES the amount we were quoted, which he did not even authorize!! When we called the company today, we were basically told oh well, it happens! We were even nice enough to go to the store and get gatorades for the 2 movers left AND we bought them lunch... and tipped the guys! The movers were not students, they told us that.. we were told the company originally started to help students make money for school (the main reason why we hired them) . PLEASE do not give this company your business!! You will regret it!! They customer service is aweful and they don't care about their customers.. please be warned!! So you as an employee of a "rebuttal company" would rather call your customer names and insult us?! That has to be a joke!! You had one employee who left, which we DID NOT "cut loose"! Check these cameras you keep mentioning and you will see this same employee sitting in my garage smoking the whole time before he actually left. He did not even lift a single box! He left on his own! Ask your employees who complained about him more than we did! I CAN NOT believe you would post a response like this to someone you just billed $2300(which will be fought btw)! The lady on the phone was awful. I called on a Tuesday and to schedule a couple of guys to help me move on that Friday. She told me that they were busy because of the "delta virus" and she was being nice by trying to squeeze me in the following week. She went on to tell me that no other movers would move me on the day I requested. I stated that's not true has I have quotes from other companies for the exact day that I am requesting. I simply want to compare options. She replies "oh good for you" and proceeded to hang up on me. Very disappointing. read more

PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY SAVE YOURSELF A HEAD ACHE, bad customer service bad company period. Bad with the BBB. Worst experience, we hired two movers for the minimum of 4 hours, only labor. First they were late, they were not friendly and did not care about anything. They didn't bring any equipment to help with heavy items, they borrowed our dollies, straps. It was a game to them to see who could move heavier by themselves, balancing items on their back bumping into walls, door frames. Furniture was damaged/scratched, mirrors were broken, walls were chipped and the door frame was broken. They did know how to pack the truck. We paid for 4 hours and were done in about 2 hours. If they would've slowed down and used the 4 hours they were paid for and helped each other out instead of being individuals, maybe worked as a team. If they would've taken a little pride and treated our items like if they paid for them maybe there would've been less damage. I understand every move can't be perfect but I seen all the damage and it could've have been avoided. The door frame and wall was chipped because he was trying to prove to the other mover he could carry the heavy oak queen size headboard by himself as he was being made fun of that he was weaker. The 4 foot dresser mirror was broken because they were horse playing around tossing the couch cushions into the storage container when one of the cushions hit the mirror, it fell and broke. All damages were avoidable. Maybe some training on working as a team and not making it a competition with peoples valuables , treating items like their own. I would not recommend them! And no it's not a fake review seems like they like to respond with all the negative reviews with it's a fake review. Bottom line: the move was fine; the issue is the company's dishonest management. We had a simple move from one apartment to another in the same city. We called asking for quotes and the lady that answered, Michelle, gave us what sounded like a very promising deal: certified movers and a 10% military discount. The movers arrived at my apartment and we filled out the paperwork together. I asked when the start time for the bill began, and the worker informed me that it would begin when they would start moving items. At the end of the move, I began to be a little concerned when I had to wait over 20 minutes for the bill. The movers said they were receiving the bill from their supervisor, Michelle. Finally, the movers explained the bill to me, and I signed for the bill. After the move, I discovered I was missing two lamps. I made a call to the company to see if perhaps the lamps had been misplaced or if they could be located. Like others, instead of being offered help Michelle accused me of accusing her employees of theft. Not the customer service I expected! It turned out the company did have at least one of the lamps, and they gave us the lamp albeit missing the lampshade and we have not seen the other lamp. The real dishonest part came afterward. A few days later I found out my credit card had been charged nearly $100 over the agreed upon price. I questioned the price with Michelle, and after being given a run-around she stated what was on her computer was the final price, not the bill that was signed for. This was when it was revealed that the company tracks the location of its employees through GPS, and they charged based on how much time they spend at a location. Remember the 20 minutes the employee spent on the phone "getting the bill" from his supervisor and the paperwork at the start of the move? The supervisor kept her employee on the phone to give us a bill that ended up not mattering in their books and which only added to the price. On top of that, the promised 10% discount was not given, again despite being on the bill that the movers had given us. I was done dealing with Michelle, whose customer service is terrible the moment you have given your business to this company. I asked for the owner and got the president, Shawn Wood. His rudeness was not at all what we expected to receive as customers, but he did say he would give us our refund "seeing as we were military". He didn't admit that his company was in the wrong, but I didn't care as long as I charged the correct amount. After trying to follow up on the refund he promised, he blocked my number. I filed a dispute with my credit card company, which two months later is still on going. Despite promising the refund, the merchant is fighting the dispute, and they even had the nerve to forge documents claiming we agreed to their charge. Luckily, we still have the carbon copy of the receipt showing what we agreed to. If for some unknown reason you still do business with this company, keep your receipts and take pictures of the original receipts! You will surely need them! read more

RIP OFF MOVING COMPANY. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND If this was the only moving company available here in Southern CA I would move everything by myself. So I just used Student Movers to help me move from Wildomar to Murrieta this past Friday. I can't even believe how much they are charging me, after quoting me $860 on the phone last week, the total came out to be $520 more, which no one prepared me for. Please do your homework and check the reviews here on Yelp before agreeing to use this awful company. I should have known something was suspicious when the office manager Margaret showed up at my home in a huge hurry right before the move started, because a few initials and signatures were missed. I feel like I was scammed to be 100% honest. I fully regret using them, and for not doing my homework by checking Yelp first. You can see they have several very poor 1 star reviews. They overcharge for fuel/equipment and do not explain how all the charges work when they quote you a moving fee over the phone. If your okay paying an additional $500 plus for your move, then this is your moving company. The guys who helped me move were helpful, so the real issue is obviously with management (Shawn) and his mother Margaret who run the company. Deception, dishonest, and downright unprofessional. Did I mention unethical too. I might add they use the name Student Movers so you will think that they are going to be honest and humble and good people to work with. Their is nothing at all about this company that has anything to do with students. It's all a big scam, bunch of phonies. And to think I actually tipped the guys at the end not knowing how badly I was being screwed over. read more

What an amazing organization. We want to say a HUGE thank you to our two movers, Thomas and Issac and to the incredible customer service we received. They were literally life savers during our move! {Backstory (not about Student Movers): We will try to keep this short, on the day of our move our professional movers bailed on us and we had to be out of our house by 9 am the next morning. We called many moving companies and everyone was booked or double booked for that Saturday. So we went top plan C and rented a UHAUL and hired some movers through UHAUL. They were horrible! Rude, on their phones and we caught them going through my jewelry. So long story short we only had them help us with the heavy furniture and then sent them on their way. My husband and I began to load the truck ourselves and after several hours we were dead tired and so physically sore we literally couldn't lift another box.} So we tried to come up with a new plan and then finally found Student Movers around 7 PM. The wonderful woman (I am so sorry I don't remember her name) heard the distress in our story and helped us find two wonderful young men to come move us. They showed up after dark around 8:30 and started moving right away. Literally as soon as they got here, one young man went over the paper work and the other already started loading boxes into the truck. We originally hired them for 2 hours and they were willing to help keep working on their Saturday night and helped us unload at our new house until 12:30 AM. The next day was Father's Day and even then they agreed to come back and help us again. They spent 4 hours loading and unloading the final truckload and we will forever be beyond grateful. Issac and Thomas were so polite and efficient. They worked the entire time they were with us, they didn't constantly check their phones or lollygag like the "professional" movers we hired did. We would recommend this company and especially these two individuals any day. The woman on the phone was so helpful and reassuring throughout my many calls too. 1 star because I can't leave 0 stars. I hardly ever leave bad reviews, but it'd be a disservice to the community to not. Booked for two movers to help with my move, and one showed up. The one mover who did show up worked hard. When I called the office the next day to figure out the bill for one mover, I was cursed out for 5 minutes on the phone telling me how lucky I was to have one person show up to help me move. So I contact the office again to ask if they remember where 'certain items' were or how they were packed so I can retrieve them and right the lady that answers the phone that's (supposedly)responsible for the crew came off very angry defensive and would not answer my question, she constantly referred to my review. Would not recommend this company. I had a very simple business office office move to another office three miles away. My IT and phone guys moved our phone service, computers, monitors, server all before hand, so all that was left were 4 desks , a reception set up, empty aluminum file cabinets, a conference table,a fridge. All our files and miscellaneous things were pre-boxed. Somehow it took them eight hours. The new site was on the ground floor with no elevator. I found one guy laying on the floor watching his phone next to a unit that had to be disassembled for moving. They almost left without taking one desk, and they broke our copier. The reason given was the load "shifted" durring the three mile drive with no freeways. When I wondered why it was taking so long for them to get to our new site, I couldn't find them in the parking lot. After even more time with no appearaance i evventually searched the center to see them standing around by the wrong building doing who knows what. The addresses were clearly marked. They disassembled fruninture for the move, but didn't put it tgether when they were done, because they didn't have tools. I was left to assemble all the stuff the next day. Customer service lady was incredibly rude when I brought up the broken copier, suggestinng our IT gut did it or we did it. As if I was lying. Based on myy experience, avoid these guys ike the plague. read more

*WARNING* Do not use this company. I have used USA movers, no problem. I have used Ruff n Ready, no problems. I used Student Movers, and bam right off the bat, problems. Everything you can think of with this company will happen. Are you concerned with items being damaged/dropped, don't use Student Movers. Are you concerned with property/home being damaged, don't use Student Movers. Are you concerned of being ripped off and getting bamboozled, don't use Student Movers. This and many other things happened during my move making this a horrible experience and just plain sad. My wife's vanity was dropped and damaged, items were dragged in the truck instead of being carried, causing damage to dressers, sofas etc. the movers didn't wear gloves, which got white sofa dirty. Moving into new property, I asked them to be careful to not damage entry, doors, etc., and that what they did, damaged almost every area, so I asked them to just leave everything in the garage since they couldn't be careful. The movers, let's be honest are not students, so that's false advertising. Lastly, this is the worst part, Michelle, the collector, tried to rip me off with by over charging me...like a used sales person. I just couldn't believe it. Not just unprofessional, but literally breaking the law by stating certain required federal fees were imposed, which I confirmed after that it did not apply. You know how sometimes, God, or a higher being is watching or looking over you? Well, my card did not go through and she couldn't charge me because Student Movers (Finance) used the storage location as my billing address causing the payment to be declined. As soon as that happened she started calling me a criminal for not paying my obligation. This is where it all changed, and I said, you give me a breakdown of all applicable charges and I will help you clear the payment. So it went from $1300 at first, to $900, which I agreed on. Mind you, I asked for the owner to call me due to clear up most of these issues, and I was never called back. Sorry, but no reason for a company like this to be in business. Oh last thing...she also mentioned, and I'm paraphrasing here, "we are not like ruff n ready"...we don't get involved in drug paraphernalia, they got caught in the boarder crossing to AZ for carrying drugs. I had the worst moving experience on Thursday June 17. If I could give negative stars, I would. I scheduled my move for 9am. They didn't show up until 6:15pm. Michelle was very unprofessional on the phone and in person. I was very disappointed since I was a returning customer. I didn't have this type of experience the first time and that's why I used them again. First of all, they never called to confirm. I had to call the day before to see if we were still good for the next day. She proceeded to tell me that they scheduled a move before me and wouldn't get to me until 1 or 2 pm. I already had plans on moving at 9am. When was she going to inform me of this? Upon moving day, 1 o'clock comes and no phone call. I called and she told me that there had been an accident with one of the movers at the other move. I asked if he was ok and if he would be good to move my job. She didn't know. 2 o'clock came and still no call. I had to keep calling back to check in. She told me they were still in Long Beach and maybe I should find someone else to move me in Temecula. Same day move!? I called around and everyone was booked or it was too late since it was now 3 o'clock. When they arrived at 6:15pm, I told them we needed to hustle since my storage closed at 7pm. I didn't want to get locked in. They took their sweet time and acted like nothing. When Michelle got there to help, they picked up their pace. They were careless and dropped many things, including a bbq. We didn't get all moved in until after 9pm and it was only a one bedroom. I was very disappointed. Michelle was very unprofessional and needs to be retrained on her customer service skills. I will never use this company again. Move date: 11/9/17 - WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I'm no stranger to moving, moved several times throughout my life and we've always done the work ourselves simply because no one takes care of your things better than you. Only reason we chose to hire professional movers this time around was because we have a newborn and we were working with a super tight time frame due to new construction being done. Girl on the phone guaranteed professional movers, quick, efficient, full-service AND furniture would be disassembled and setup in the new place. Sounds amazing right?!? Wrong!!!! HUGE MISTAKE!!! Here's the short version: 2 young kids showed up morning of the move with 16 ft Penske truck (not the big red and black company truck as shown on their website). This truck was no where near large enough to move our entire home so we ended up being charged additional mileage!! Multiple items were damaged during the move which included our couch being dropped in driveway and damaged, mattress being ripped on stair banister, nightstand dropped down the stairs, dryer dented and scratched, crib and dresser scratched and cracked, head board and foot board of our brand new master bedroom set scratched.. the list goes on and on! I wish we had been in a position to send them away however due to our tight timeframe our hands were tied. When my husband called to speak to a supervisor to discuss the small truck and damaged items, she began yelling at HIM and was unimaginably rude! Not an ounce of customer service or remorse! She told her crew to leave and hung up on him...what?? Who does that?? We were asked by the crew to pick them up lunch and take it out of their tip! Ummm... on a normal basis we would've probably offered but this was 10am, 2 hours into our move and so far things were not off to a great start. I just couldn't believe it!! We were kind enough to get them lunch. Our real estate agent and parents had stopped by during the move and had witnessed most of the events, they too were at a loss for words when seeing that none of our items were being padded, no blankets were used to protect furniture, the dolly used on raw furniture surfaces causing black marks on our newborns brand new WHITE crib and dresser!! Hardware to our beds went missing (my dad had to go to Home Depot so we could assemble our bed ourselves). What's most upsetting is that it ALL could've been prevented by using simple basic moving techniques! So unprofessional and beyond frustrating!!! To top things off, most of our belongings were left in the garage, washer in dryer left in driveway. So much for full service I guess. We made several attempts to make contact with supervisor again which didn't happen until they were ready for payment of course. My husband refused to sign final paperwork until we spoke to someone regarding damages. Finally able to speak with the same woman again, who was by far the craziest and rudest woman I've ever dealt with hands down!! She said she was calling the police (which we waited for to show up and never did) and THEN proceeded to make an unauthorized charge to my husbands credit card!!! We are currently in dispute. This company is great at showing up on time but that's about it. I had them move me. I'm a single mom so moving is stressful. They had a good team but are not one bit worried about time. No matter what the object is they put it on a dolly. Dinning room chairs you name it. Some things would be faster and safer to just carry. So that was one thing that got on my nerves but I just let it go. That and the team smoked so took several smoke breaks on my time. What you think should take 6 hours they will turn into a full day. They didn't break anything that was a plus. But when I called the next day asking about a couple boxes that didn't make it from my old place to my new place the guy who answered the phone got angry with me. Not concerned one bit that I was missing a new box of cooking pans. I was hoping they might still had them on the truck under a moving blanket or something. As they are well equipped to take care of your things. But instead the man said are "Are you accusing my man of stealing? How would they know what's in the Box? " I told him I just did not see my new Box of pots and pans that were in the original Box from the store. Could he please check with his movers to see if favre on the truck. I'm not a confrontational person I tip these men even after I paid absorbedly for the move. I was grateful for the help but not treated very well. My issue was not looked into. I was treated very rude on the phone. What was a okay Experience was turned into a very negative experience from a lack of professionalism and understanding or concerns. Called in the morning to inquire about moving a few pieces of furniture locally here in Temecula. Was told that they could do it SAME DAY and would give me a call back in about 4 hours. So 4pm came (6 hours or more since I originally called) and I had heard nothing so I called Student Movers. The lady who answered the phone was comical. She told me I was crazy to think that I could get moved same day and that "when you move you plan for these things weeks in advance". Great Point....only it was YOU who said you would move my things SAME DAY. I was simply checking back because I hadn't heard from you when you said you would CALL ME. This lady became more and more angry and began telling me how they move million dollar homes out in Wine Country and they are Nationwide and VERY large and on and on and on. Ever heard or known someone who feels the need to read you their resume? LOL. She had to be heard and started naming a bunch of local places that I should have called instead and that (again, this is funny) "I was crazy for sitting around ALL day thinking that I could get moved SAME DAY". Well enough time wasted here on the phone with this charmer. So I ended the call saying that "I would indeed call someplace else and be sure to tell everyone I knew NOT to call Student Movers!"
