I've been trying to get a quote from this company for a few weeks now, but I keep hitting a message to nowhere. I'm not super keen on having to drive around until I face-to-face with enough businesses that I have a good price comparison, but I figured I'm moving to a local town, these folks are in my neighborhood, and it would probably be easier to hire someone local (because y'all KNOW I love to support my local businesses!!!) and I am starting to get upset that I cannot seem to get ahold of them via phone. Maybe they're the best thing since pressed waffles...maybe their services are in such high demand that they cannot handle the overflow of calls. Maybe the inerwebz are lying to me due to a deliberate hack by a jealous competitor. Honestly, I just want to quote from some honest people who are decent and I know they won't lie to me about how much it costs to move my items just over 10 miles away or so. I mean, I could probably put some coolers full of a few cases of cold brew out in front of my house with a sign that says "More of this...and pizza if you put my stuff in the truck and don't break stuff." I'd probably get a decent batch of Military folks who help people move because they're just nice people. However, I don't want said nice people to feel bad if they do happen to break stuff, and that's usually why you hire a moving company. I'm not too sure I can trust the ones one discount sites say will cost $20 an hour for 4 guys to move your stuff for eleventy five miles or less...because there's always something in the fine print. I'm hoping these guys are just busy and haven't been able to clear their voicemail. Either that, or my dyslexic self will have to come limping back to Yelp and admit I don't know how to dial a phone like a big girl... I just want to move. And at this point, I'm about to start offering people beer, pizza, AND fresh baked cookies. I make some sweet peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. Just sayin'... All I need is a quote...and I'll keep trying until I get one! Update: thank you for the swift Yelp response! All together I paid about 400 bucks. They guy who owns the company was even onsite to supervise. Said he started the place himself years ago with just one truck and a couple guys. He himself is a veteran as well so that was great to know. He really cares about his company and his customers and it shows. He will even donate any items for you that you no longer need or want. The excellent team at Right Way Movers were professional, amiable, courteous, and most of all, careful with our fragile belongings. We had 3 of their movers move us in a 26-foot truck and they were just as cautious toward the end of the move as they were at the beginning. Anything that could break or rip was wrapped very well and all of our stuff made it to the new home in perfect condition. They stuck to the estimate they gave us - which is very important to me. We only needed to have a large toolbox, about 5 boxes and a couple baby toys (jumpers and ball pits) moved but they showed up early with 4 guys and whom I'm assuming was the owner. It took them about 45 minutes to load up their truck AND they helped me clear out the rest of the trash in my garage and house. When we got to our storage unit, they worked as a team and were quick to get everything into the unit in an organized manner. They rearranged my unit to get everything to fit but made sure to put what I needed to be able to get to later at an accessible location in my unit. These guys were so quick and nice! We hired this company based upon Yelp reviews and were absolutely thrilled with the results. The owner was great at getting back to me in a timely manner and was even able to reschedule our move when our move date changed last minute. He was cordial and always made me feel like he was happy to have my business. We initially agreed upon 3 guys but on the day of the move, he showed up with 4 workers, "but only if we wanted the fourth." At first I was put off thinking that he was just trying to get us to pay more, but it turns out that he has just been in this business for a long time and knows how many people it actually takes to move. Had we gone for the original 3 guys, we would have paid a lot more as the move would have taken longer and we would have run into overtime. I quickly changed my mind and was thankful for the extra worker. Now,on to the move itself. Let me tell you, I have never seen movers work so fast in my life. Not in a "hurry up and let's be sloppy kind of way," but in a "time is money" kind of way. All of the workers were professional, and out of their way respectful.
