My neighbors recommended them and spoke highly of them so I went with them when I moved to Oceanside. I was really beyond amazed with the experience of hiring Spry. They were on time, which had been a problem with the other guys, plus, their price was fair compared to other quotes I got. They are pforessional, were very careful with my furniture, even though my stairs are tricky, and made the process really smooth. 5 stars from me! read more

I called Spry at the recommendation of my dad, whose friend circle regularly refers customers to them (including businesses like their church, from my understanding). They took down my information and I got a call back from Garrett, who was very professional and was able to schedule a team of movers for 9 am this past Sunday. He took down my payment info, charged a $100 deposit, and told me he'd call to confirm 1-2 days before the move. The Friday before, he called me back to confirm whether we were still good for Sunday. I said yes and he said the movers would be there around 9 am, and that they'd call me up to an hour before that to let me know they were on their way. I wake up super early that Sunday, excited to finally be moving into my new place. 9 am came and went, but I heard nothing. Eventually I called back, had to give all of my information again (it was like they had no record of me anymore?), and they said I'd get a call back. About 20 minutes later, a man called me to let me know that "a couple of the movers" didn't show up (um, thanks for letting me know? Why did I have to call to hear this?) and that he was looking for replacements. As he was about to hang up on me, I said, "wait wait, can I get a time estimate please?" He said, "at least a couple of hours" and hung up. A couple of hours came and went and I heard nothing. I tried calling him back but he wouldn't take my call and never called back in response to my voicemails (I wasn't rude or anything). So I called Spry again, had to give all of my information once again, and they said they'd call back. Another hour went by, nothing. So finally I call AGAIN and leave another message. I let them know this was urgent, that I HAD to be out that day or I couldn't do my job the next day (I work from home and half of my stuff was at each place, and not in a usable state), and that this would have serious financial consequences for me. I finally hear back from a woman that I would later learn worked for a different moving company (so they must have contracted it out, but they were apparently happy to take credit for the other company because nobody informed me of this), and she got me taken care of. By this point it was almost the end of the day and I would have been absolutely screwed had I not called repeatedly and absolutely INSISTED that they honor their contract with me. Absolutely horrible experience. If you look at this company's reviews, you'll see that the positive ones are largely from YEARS ago, so that five star overall rating doesn't mean much anymore. However great they may have been 3-7 years in the past, this company will make your already stressful move an absolute nightmare today. I recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I hired "Spry movers" for a storage pod loading job. It was not until after I booked that it became apparent this company is not Spry Movers but instead "1 Stop Moving and Storage". All communication comes from 1 Stop and their logo is on the boxes. There is no Spry Movers in Oceanside - which I confirmed after I went to to pick up my boxes from the address indicated on their website specifically for where to pick up the boxes. When I called to get more info I was told oh sorry we will deliver them to you, which they did the next day. However, I do not appreciate being mislead on the company, considering 1 Stop has significantly lower reviews and is not located in Oceanside (I was hoping for a local company). The 2 men that handled my move seemed very out of it... I also asked them to communicate with me throughout the day on status as I was not sure everything would fit in the pod and had a prioritization of items. All of a sudden they announced they were done and many items were still laying around my garage. Most remaining items also had parts that were already packed in the pod so I was left with incomplete items. My stairs were damaged in the process and they did not seem to handle items with care. So I moved today and worked with spry. I found them here on yelp and was actually questioning them solely of if the fact that they had perfect ratings it almost seemed unreal to a point. So if your like me and that thought crossed your mind, reconsider. By far my best move. They were extremely pleasant and well mannered. They got the job done in an 2 and a half hours my total was $237.50 but I added a big tip because it was beyond great service. Originally I called with this date but never reserved it officially. Someone else booked it but mark went out of his way to switch things around and make my time and date work it. I usually switch companies as I move around every year as a consultant, but easily, I would stay with them. read more

We sent 2 of our rugs out to be professionally cleaned. The rug company uses Spry Movers to pickup the rugs and once cleaned returned to our house. This company was great! They arrived exactly when they said they would, were very friendly and helpful in moving the necessary furniture to remove the rugs and then putting everything back in place while we waited for the rugs to be cleaned. Once the rugs were cleaned, they delivered them exactly when quoted and were very contentious in getting the rugs correctly positioned and the furniture replaced. Highly recommended! read more

Spry moved us on 7/13 and I have nothing but great things to day about them. The movers arrived on time early and the morning, and got to work right away. They helped break down some of our furniture and loaded up the truck in no time. Great care was taken with our fragile items, and all of the items that were moved didn't even have a scratch. In addition to being on time and efficient, the guys were very friendly. This was the best money that I've ever spent. If I ever move again, my first call will be to Spry. read more

I've got information about this company from my neighbor. They have told me that the experience with them was pretty got, however mine was not as good as I've expected. I've moved my 1 bedroom recently to Riverside. I've trusted movers and did not follow the truck. It took me 2 hours to get to my destination (GPS showed 1 hr 56 min) , but movers were not there yet . I understand that the truck is slower, but I was driving no more than 65 mph. The clock passes 3 hours mark, the truck still did not arrive . Driver did not answer my calls , the office manager was always telling that they will show up shortly. Fast forward , it took them 3 hours and 20 minutes to get to the destination , and beside the bill for 3.5 hours I was charge another 3.5 hours for their drive back . that's ridiculous. After complaining over the phone they have ended up discounting 20 min for the drive ( total of 40 min) and they have refused deduct in accordance to the google maps. I had to take this case to the credit card company to dispute. read more

They took the time to get everything into their moving truck - which took a lot of rearranging!They helped move stuff over to my house and even set up my fountain and washer and dryer for me! This company is high level professionalism. The customer service Joy gives makes it a pleasure to talk with her. I would rename her Joy-ful. This company is fraudulent. They quoted me $400 for my entire move. They sent over 2 young men that spent more time texting, than packing and moving. The time frame that I was quoted for my entire move was spent just partially packing one room, in a 4 bedroom house. It took the 2 guys they sent 4 hours to pack just TWO THIRDS of ONE room. These guys are wonderful! I called in the late morning and spoke with Mark hoping to get a same day delivery for a couch and heavy stone coffee table we had purchased thru an Estate Sale Company. Mark gave me a quote right away and said he would get the furniture to our house later that afternoon. Just after 4 pm, I received a text stating the furniture had been picked up from the store and they were on their way. Two men arrived with our couch and coffee table and were very patient and polite while we decided exacly where we wanted to put the items. I found this company on Yelp and went with them because they have a 5 star review. Sure, that may be the lazy way out of finding a moving company, but honestly I didn't have the time or energy to call 3-4 different places and get info from all of them and jot down notes and compare and call back the winner. I wouldn't be able to have that many productive phone conversations with my kids in the background anyways. Maybe my expectations were really low because I didn't do much research, but these movers were really great to me and my family. David was the mover that I talked to the most and he was very friendly and bubbly the whole day and made jokes and fun comments about anything he could to make it a light atmosphere. We had 4 movers and all of them seemed to walk into my house and just start doing stuff without me even having to tell them what to do. It was pretty impressive how they just kept clearing everything out (I would have stopped to whine or cry at least every hour but maybe that's why I'm not a mover). One stand out point that really earned them the 5 star review for me (and I'm guessing others too) is that they were very transparent with how much everything was going to cost and all my different options to reduce the costs. I didn't even think to get a mattress cover/bag, so David asked me if I wanted to use some blankets or sheets that I had, or if I wanted to go to the store to get one, or if I wanted to buy one from his company for $12. I think other companies might have just tried to sell me one instead of telling me about just using sheets to wrap it in. Sounds like common sense, but honestly I didn't think of it at the time. David also kept giving me updates on how long he thought we had left so I could have that running total in the back of my head. When he was almost done unloading at the new house he told me that they could just unload everything and then stop if I wanted, or I could pay them another hour or so to put the furniture back together and rearrange it.
