After visiting two other companies and locations, I was blessed to find the manager Cecilia at the 3700 Centreville RD location. She was patient with me and also took the time to show me multiple units to make sure I was comfortable with the size. I could not ask for a better representative to help me pick the right unit and secure place. I would recommend this location 100% for anyone looking for storage. I also have spoken with several different people on the phone who were also very friendly. I started renting on April 1st and everything went smoothly - I thought I had enrolled in auto-pay, but apparently I hadn't since Patrick called me yesterday to let me know I had been charged a late fee for May's rent. He had great customer service and I understand there wasn't anything he could do about the fee. He gave me the number for Devin Moreno (the regional property manager) who has yet to get back in touch with me. I left him a voicemail yesterday morning and tried calling again today - nothing. All in all, I'd recommend this location if you sign up for autopay and just need a place to store some things. If you're looking for superior customer service from management, go somewhere else. **I've also read some reviews on here about them "forcing" you to sign up for their insurance. It is VA state law to have insurance on your rental unit. I had to sign up for it and then I cancelled it online as soon as I got home. Yes, you have to sign up when you check-in, but that's just the company protecting themselves. If you do it correctly, you don't ever pay for it and you can use your own personal property insurance.**

I had had a great experience with them just last year when I last moved and knew they'd be able to get the job done again. My project was immediately responded to and they were able to help me move two weeks later on their soonest available date. The three movers, Pat, Renaldo, and Kevin were incredible. Communication leading up to the move and theday of was great. They were able to move all my large furniture within 2 hours. Everything was wrapped carefully and efficiently. They were kind and thoughtful, helping me make adjustments to the furniture layout once we got to the destination. Their positivity through one of the hardest situations I've ever gone through was much-needed and made me feel confident in entering this next chapter. I even had a last minute change to the destination (originally everything was going into storage but I ended up finding an apartment just in time), and the professionalism and patience from the entire Bookstore team through this change was excellent. Pricing was reasonable yet again and came out to about $500 (excluding tip) for the truck fee and moving of 16 large items. Thank you Bookstore Movers for helping me when I needed it most!

We were disappointed with our recent experience with Bookstore Movers. The crew was polite, but the…read moremove felt much slower and less efficient than it should have been. We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.

I feel very lucky to have chosen Extra Space Storage (ESS) in Herndon because the customer service is OUTSTANDING. They are all very personable and knowledgeable. I had all of my questions answered and felt very confident that if i had any questions or concerns at anytime, someone would be available to answer them. I think these days, good customer service is hard to come by, and ESS in Herndon deserves a ton of praise. In regards to the facility itself, I don't have anything to really compare it to. I have the 5x10 unit, which perfectly fits the contents of my DC apartment. It is easy for me to just swing my the unit to add or remove items at any time, and moving everything into the unit was easy as well. So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. Overall, would definitely recommend PMC - they're easy to work with, fair and transparent about pricing and you're sure to be met with professionalism!
