When a breaker went out in my house it was so stressful so I went to ace with a vague idea of what I needed and was immediately helped by an employee named Austin. He walked me and my fiance throughout the store and answered all of our questions so kindly. He basically saved us, We later saw he was a supervisor (which is well deserved). Called in to make sure they had a product, they said they had it. Got there and it was empty on the shelf. waited 15 minutes for them to check their stock claiming they have it and they came up with nothing. I should have stuck with home depot. read more

Ace is great! Everyone is so helpful and friendly. Sean and Jan helped me find a screw for a piece a furniture that had been stripped out. One of the things I like about this store is that they try to stock the things the houses in this area need, like circuit breakers and fuses. I agree with a lot of the reviews that help is hard to find, especially knowledgeable help. I asked for help the other day finding a particular part I needed and was told it would be in a certain isle. I went to the directed isle but could not find the part. I finally found what I was looking for at the other end of the store. I will say, however, the cashiers, especially the cashiers at the back of the store, are very friendly and helpful. The people working out in the yard are also very friendly and helpful. I have never had any problem returning an item to this store and when we painted our house, we purchased so much custom mixed paint, the manager gave me a nice discount. Ace has good specials, especially when you have their customer card. But the negative attitudes of employees affects the shopping experience. They just indicate where something might be instead of showing you. There are people walking around with communication devices, so why can't they be asked to help? Good selection and pricing but it seems the staff is really comfortable with each other and play around until a customer is near, then scatter. Mostly the younger ones however there are some knowledgeable employees there. I recommend they reduce their operating staff by half so there is less opportunity to play around. I went into the store attempting to get some supplies for a sprinkler project and was helped by a great knowledgeable guy who not only helped me find all I needed but survey mind the time it took to help me and made sure I left knowing I had to come back again. I normally go to the bigger places but you walk in there with no one yo be found. The prices are a little higher but the service and help is second to none so its more then worth it. I have had enough of their lack of customer service. I have tried to ignore it for too long now and now I will never shop this place again. I bought a threaded coupling for a pvc pipe and needed to exchange it for an unthreaded coupling. I did not bring my receipt and the change was in my favor. The checker refused to do it and stated to bring a receipt. Fair enough! It cost me .32 cents but I will never shop this place again and go to Best Lumber or The Home Depot. This is not the first time for their lack of customer service, but it is the last time for me. read more

I have gone about three times into this store, and every time has been completely different. The first time I got greeted upon coming in, which made it a friendly environment you know the whole, "hello can we help you with anything" phrase. Second time absolute no customer service until the end. When I finally received service it was from a person named Sean D. Let me just say he was no help at all, lacking in so much knowledge, didn't even try his all to help me, and at the end of it just tells me to come back tomorrow. Yeah right with that poor so call "service" I would not even think to come back, but I had to later on to make a shelf. Recently within the last week I came back to get materials and had a totally different experience from the last time. I was greeted by a young man named Jerry T. When I got out of my vehicle he quickly asked me if I needed help, I told him I needed some 2/4/8, he got them for me, and all while this was going on created great conversation, he even suggested pine board. Best customer service I have ever received. Just because of this I am giving them a five star rating. They should pay more attention to people like him. That young man will go far if he keeps doing what he's doing. read more
