we were trying to find an impossible to locate stihl lawnmower that is always shown unavailable to order online. the yucaipa store miraculously had one in store and the store supervisor ramon was more than helpful helping us locate this mythical lawnmower and even placed it on hold for us to pick up. we made the trek out to yucaipa and wow this ace hardware i believe is THE only hardware store available in town so it has everything- all the hardware, gardening, even lumbar yard and stuff. basically a home depot. definitely the largest full-service ace i have ever been to. super well-staffed and friendly employees who are always ready to help. love this neighborhood ace! be sure to download the ace app and sign up for deals :) read more

IMO, if you want a true hardware store experience with knowledgeable people and a great selection you cannot go wrong to come to this Crown Ace. You definitely know you are not in a big box store with their limited number of employees who (again, IMO) have no real experience in the respective departments. It has been my impression the Ace employees truly want to help you find the item you are looking for or help with solving a problem you presented to them. Some items might cost a little more, but I feel getting the expertise is worth it. read more

ACE store would not allow special replacement part order for stihl part over the phone and no option to do so online; you have to go in person. You can, however, do this through Wilbur's Power Equipment in Mentone! Get with the times. Some people do not have the time for 20 mile round trip drives to place an order and then another 20 mile round trip to pick it up. read more

By far the friendliest most helpful hardware store around. Ramon helped us with our paint colors and ac cleaner we needed. He personally showed us where everything was at all the while joking around with us. I don't think we have ever had as much fun at a hardware store. read more

Thank God for Barbara! We were dealing with plumbing issues all weekend regarding our utility sink. Ace had mostly everything we needed and we made multiple trips all weekend as new issues would arise as they do with plumbing. Just when we thought all our problems were solved, the faucet of the utility sink started to drip in excess. We removed the cartridges from the faucet and so back to Ace I go. I had no idea what I needed to do or get. At this point everything looked the same and I was tired. Barbara came to the rescue. She took them apart and found exactly what was needed to fix the issue. She took her time and explained everything to me. I got home and we put everything back together and no more leak. I'm so happy to live close to an Ace and so thankful for the employees. They really know their stuff. read more

10/10 service. My business will stay at Crown Ace over any other hardware store simply due to their customer care and professionalism. I left this on their formal review , but wanted to put these specific employees on here here because my interaction with them was so wonderful: Brodie: has EXCELLENT customer service skills. He was kind, polite, empathetic, informative and patient with me as I had a very hard time choosing a paint color (I had to come back 3 separate times that day due to a color swatch not matching the gallon I originally purchased). He even took the time to explain how colors are mixed, and proceeded to help me choose a new paint color. I could tell he had other important tasks he needed to attend to, but still made me feel like I was the only person/task that mattered each time I came in (ALL 3 TIMES). He is an excellent employee, and deserves a great amount of recognition. Ariel: helped me so much when I was overwhelmed about what paint color to choose. She patiently showed me an even broader selection of paint colors online when I needed more than what was on the swatch wall. I would have had no idea there was more paint selections online than on the paint swatch wall there without her! She also found me a very discounted plant when I was searching for house plants. Her kindness attention to detail was exceeded expectation. Leanne: was gracious enough to return my Gallon of paint due to it being very different than the swatch color I had bought. She could tell I was distraught about the whole ordeal, and ensured I felt valued as a customer. She even helped me pick my final color! She has manager and customer service skills galore. From the moment you walk in everyone makes you feel welcome. Came here after going to Home Depot where I couldn't get helped. Within 5 min at Ace 3 people were eager to help me. The selection is not as big as a regular hardware store but they make up for service. The Selection they do have is Quality. As far as value goes I can't say if there's any savings but who cares when your Service exceeds anyone. Thank You and will return soon read more

Good neighborhood hardware store. If you're looking for #6 split washers this is the place to go. If you live in the area and don't feel like going to Home Depot or Lowe's, this is the place. Rude Ride and rude. Absolutely the worst customer service and employees there is around. They are so rude, never want to help and when you try to ask for help they avoid you or roll their eyes. Cashiers are absolutely horrible in person and on the phone. No one smiles there and they all seem and have the attitude that they are miserable and don't care. No hello, no thank you no smile. Curbside...forget it, once you say it's curbside they hang up on you because their and customer service is crap and they just don't care. I get better service at Home Depot and Lowe's and to be honest they are cheaper so I would rather drive further for cheaper prices for the same items and brands and get better customer service. Not sure who the manager is at this Ace but if I were you I would re evaluate your rude employees. read more

This is a real hardware store with a whole room for all kinds of fasteners, screws, nuts, bolts, washers, and workers who know what they have and are helpful. Also, they have a great paint center with quality paint and supplies. There are all kinds of tools, from building to gardening to automotive tools. I went to Ace Hardware in Yucaipa on Wednesday, 12/13/23, to get some cleaner for my BBQ. I was greated by employee Aelyn who help me find everything I needed. Her level of customer service and kindness is impeccable. I also saw Kelli who has helped me in the past. Both of these young ladies are why customers keep coming back to Ace. We just had our knives sharpened and they are razor sharp. I didn't realize how dull they were until they sharpened them for us. They only sharpen straight edged knives no seraded knives. read more

I was fortunate enough to find this place last week, when it came time to replace a 30 year old Stihl chainsaw. I met Chris, and 2 1/2 hours later, he was walking me to my car; literally. I had a ton of questions , wanted the right bar/chain combo, wife said new PPE, ethanol free fuel questions, etc. etc. I threw everything at this guy and he loved it. He loved sharing information. He knew it was a big purchase for me, gave me all the time in the world, and made sure I had all the answers before my purchase. Then he walked me to my car and helped me load up. We shook hands, and he thanked me like two gentleman. WOW, my new hardware store. Only problem, the store is 70 minutes one way AWESOME SERVICE BY EVERYONE IN THE STORE. It was really incredible. I've only written one other review in my life, but just had to say what an awesome hardware store this is! FYI, the nut and bolt selection is to die for too! read more

Literally the worst hardware store I have ever visited. I went multiple times to get lumber and they were repeatedly out of the sizes I needed, and nobody seemed to have any idea when they would get any additional lumber. On top of that, any other items I need they seem to always be out of. And their staff has absolutely no idea what I'm asking for. Perhaps hiring qualified individuals would be a great start for a local hardware store such as Ace. Especially considering their slogan... Unfortunately I shop elsewhere now even though this is right down the street from my house. read more

Friendly staff helped me quickly resolve some questions I had for the appropriate product for my project and have gone in multiple times to warranty my Craftsman hand tools as well (one of the only Ace hardwares that care a good selection of Craftsman tools). ordered something on Memorial Day sale and they said they would call me in a week to pick up after 2 weeks no call I went there to see if they had it the lady looked at the paper they wrote me and after 30 minutes of waiting she found the box they ordered for me and she said she would have to take some stuff out of the package because the price was $149 and the sale price I had on my paper was $99 incredible I couldn't believe it it was a sale they had on memorial day and now they did want to honor the price wow I guess cu service doesn't matter to these people never go there again read more

EPIC FAIL......Dropped in on Sunday around 1 p.m. to buy a Traegar BBQ grill, as they were having a weekend sale of free assembly and free delivery. Waited and waited at the grill area and not a single sales person engaged with me to answer questions or make a $500 to $800+ sale for the grill and supplies.....I wandered around the store looking for a sales associate or manager, but could find none. Went back to the grill display area, and despite there being THREE female ACE workers engaged in a gab and chuckle Fest, not a single one of them approached me or even said a word to me, despite the fact that they were only 15 feet away. Who trains these people? Sorry ACE, you just lost a BIG sale, as I will not give my money to a store that has no one geared to helping the customer with questions and lazy ass associates who would rather chit chat than help a customer. read more
