the food was good no complaints I requested the fettuccine with a white sauce Instead of red. you could taste the distinct flavors it tasted like it was made with a white white crab ravioli were very light the muscle sauce was also very light on flavor it tasted like a cream butter service was was prompt they were crowded about an hour after opening but the wait was not long I loved the wine selection as well read more

I went for the first time and had dinner here yesterday. It had been on my list and I'm glad I finally tried it. I made a reservation at 730 on open table and I'm glad I did. The reservation was easy to get on the same day but they were also very busy. The host sat us right away, the server was kind and the food came fairly quickly. We ordered the meatballs to start and they were good, just a little salty. Then I ordered the short rib and my boyfriend ordered the ribeye. Both were perfectly coooked and incredibly tasty. We were too full for dessert but I look forward to coming back and trying more things soon! read more

Love this neighborhood spot! The Brussels sprouts are my go to always. Service is great.

Excellent service and food. Had reservations for 5 and were immediately seated even though our party were not all present yet. Our waiter Paolo was so nice and attentive. While waiting for the rest of our party, He asked if we wanted to sample any of the wine selection before committing to one. Tried 3 different ones and ended up really liking the Chianti. So we ordered the bottle, why not?! We ordered 3 appetizers and they were all good, thought the burrata could use maybe some more balsamic since it tasted a it bland. The mussels were delicious according to my friends, I didn't indulge since I was allergic to them. The beet salad was very refreshing. Onto the mains. The prosciutto pizza a bit undercooked for our liking but it was still Good nonetheless and nothing was leftover. The highlight was definitely the pesto gnocchi!!! That is a must order. It was cooked perfectly and the pesto sauce was to die for. By far the favorite dish of the night. The pork ragu pasta was also very good and was paired with a chili sauce topping. It oddly brought out the pasta even more. Lastly we had the meatballs. We asked for extra bread and helped soak up all tasty and saucy dishes. What a great experience. Service was so accommodating. We brought a birthday cake and they brought it at the end of the night with candles for the birthday gal. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed such a wonderful dinning experience and didn't feel rushed to finish our meal. The entire staff were pretty attentive. The restaurant inside was simple yet like fine dining, and they even had outdoor tables. read more

We always love going to Creekwood! The food is consistently excellent and creative. We love to order their Brussells sprouts, mussels, black cod, corn & asparagus pizza and hamburger. I enjoyed celebrating my mother's birthday here. Every dish was really delicious and fresh, and the service was extremely friendly. Reservations on weekends is encouraged! I really liked the fried Brussels sprouts - such a hit. The salad, mussels, pizzas, and gnocchi were all good. Pizza is thin crust - not Neapolitan style, but still very tasty. I especially liked the potato pizza My dad wanted to come back the following week but sadly his plans changed! read more

I had a hard time deciding where to take a good friend for a very belated Birthday dinner on short notice and after a lot of back and forth I decided on Creekwood. It turned out to be a great decision! Our party had the Little Gems Salad, Burrata, Gnocchi, Cameroni, Wagyu Ribeye and the Corn & Broccolini Pizza. All of the items were between a very good to excellent at a reasonable price point. The show stopper to which my party of 4 agreed was the Gnocchi with Pesto. This was far and away the best Gnocchi I've ever had in my life.. The pesto and seared pillowy potato dumplings were mind blowingly delicious.. The 14oz Wagyu Ribeye at $68 is frankly a bargain in the bay area and something that can easily be shared by two people. The service at Creekwood was exemplary. Out server for the evening was polite, efficient and borderline telepathic... I'm already looking forward to my second visit... Keep up the Great Work Creekwood! 5 Stars All Day! We came here with some of our dearest friends for holiday cheer!!! We had an excellent time. We started off with the burrata and mushroom pizza. very nice portion of both to share amongst us. Flavors were great execution was lovely. We then moved on to the winter salad, everything was fresh, and it was not overdressed, which was also appreciated! We shared the mushroom pappardelle and cameroni! The mushroom pasta was cooked very well, the mushroom flavor was outstanding, and they worked with the mushroom well and that it did not make the pasta watery as it can be! The cameroni was the star of the evening. Delicious flavors very hardy!!! perfect Ragu!!! Bravo!!! we were all very stuffed, but we could not pass up the gelato and a piece of the chocolate cake, which was all very delicious!!! The only complaint I have, which is a typical complaint of most restaurants I go to is that they have very poor tea. It always amazes me how much money restaurants will designate for coffee, but then they give one step above Lipton for their tea!!! I advise the restaurant look at Harney & Sons. They are an excellent price and wonderful quality. Our service was great. It is a pretty small restaurant and the server managed everything beautifully and the manager pitched in. The restaurant inside is very warm and inviting and clearly it is a neighbor restaurant with locals that come in every week. Bravo!!!!! We unfortunately did not take pictures but the pictures on the website are pretty accurate.!!! They do not have cocktails here but we did get lovely glasses of wine and a bottle of Moscato d'Asti!!! read more

What a cute little place. We got a bunch of things to share and the hits were burrata and little gem salad. We shared the margarita, prosciutto, and a corn & asparagus pizza. My wife took me here for my birthday, as she knows I have an affinity for great Italian food; particularly, gnocchi. Creekwood did not disappoint! I got the gnocchi, but the server suggested the bolognese sauce instead which was a great choice. We also had a corn and asparagus pizza, which sounds strange but it might be the best pizza we've had together (or ever! Dessert was fantastic. Not overly sweet, but oh so tasty. I noticed Creekwood as I was driving down Sacramento St. several weeks ago and thought it looked sleek and interesting so mentioned it to hubby and so Thursday evening, we were hungry and decided to walk in just before 6pm. It wasn't a problem to get a table. There were several people there, but definitely tables and the bar available. By the time we left, around 7:30, it was hoppin' and looked full up! Service was wonderful. I ordered Prosecco (perfect) and hubby ordered an IPA. We began drinking our drinks and the waiter came over to let hubby know that he made a mistake and brought him a different beer - so the next beer (the correct beer) was on the house. Hubby ordered halibut crudo to start, and I ordered the brussels sprouts. The crudo was simple and good. The brussels sprouts are "pistachio fried peppercorn praline" preparation. Honestly, we didn't taste any of those flavors, but that said, they were delicious and I'd order them again. For the main I ordered the halibut main dish and it was exactly as you'd expect and good. Hubby got the pappardelle and liked it very much. What we really enjoyed was the warm environment, the friendly service, and the multiple options of items we could order...especially me, being pescatarian. This could definitely become our go-to comfort place. So yeah, we'll definitely be back! read more

My friend decided to bring me here which I was excited because I wanted to try this place for so long. Upon arriving the place was fairly empty which was fine because I had a toddler dining with me lol. The waiter was friendly & accommodating. I posted the ribs which wasn't good! It lacked flavor & was tough to chew. I was disappointed! I probably won't be going back no time soon! read more

I am usually am lucky enough to find parking right up front when I dine at Creekwood. We made reservations for Saturday evening dinner via OpenTable - unfortunately, upon arriving learned that the reservation was for inside (I had requested outside in the reservation notes because there was no option or distinction I. The reservation itself - it turns out, if the option doesn't appear, that means there are no outside tables available). Fortunately, the staff were able to offer a table that would be free for an hour and 15 mins until the next reservation, we took that and later were kindly told we could stay longer due to a cancellation. The crispy Brussels sprouts were super tasty and perfectly crispy. This is the only way my sister likes them so she was very happy! The Roasted Beet salad was nice and refreshing on a warm evening. It was also quite tasty. The vinaigrette was not overwhelming, it was a great touch to bring out the beet and berry flavors. The basil pesto gnocchi was superb. Gnocchi is always a bit heavy but the portion size was great, my sister and I shared this so it was just right. The basil pesto was flavorful and the pine nuts were a perfect topping. The margharita pizza was great. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. Crust wasn't burnt or undercooked, just right. Even the one slice I had leftover was yummy the next day! The almond cake was interesting and I absolutely loved the strong almond flavor. The texture was different than a normal white flour cake but I think this made it better. I didn't much care for the raspberry sauce on the plate. Overall great service. I especially appreciated that despite the reservation confusion, they helped make things work out for us. The server was also very attentive and kind. Food was awesome, parking was way. Love it! read more

This small restaurant in Berkeley was definitely a hidden gem. The prices compared well to other similar restaurants in the Berkeley area, but their food does outshine many other Italian restaurants I've had in the area. The meatballs were a great appetizer to start and came with bread. All the entrees, particularly the Cameroni were very good. Their pasta tastes handmade and is cooked al dente. My favorite part of the meal was trying the Green Tea Panna Cotta, which I thought was a very unique thing to have on the menu. In addition, it also tasted great but I wish you could taste the green tea a little more. read more

I've had my eye on Creekwood for some time, so I was glad when my goddaughter's bday dinner landed us here on a weekday evening. Food, service and atmosphere were all great. It's not a big place- maybe 10-14 indoor tables (plus a few out front), but they easily fit our party of 10. It was beer and wine only- no cocktails/liquor. A few apps were ordered- shishito peppers were simple and delish, goat cheese plate was an interesting mix of flavors and super yummy, meatballs were good, mussels seemed to be fine but didn't bring about any comments as being remarkable. Entrees ordered were the burger (both guys felt guilty ordering a burger at an Italian restaurant but were happy they did), Gnocchi with creamy pesto (these were larger 2-bite gnocchi and chewy-delicious), crab ravioli (available in small and full-size and also yummy), Meatball calzone and Fettuccine were both good. The bill came and it was surprising that they didn't add gratuity for our large party. The amount shocked nonetheless. Everyone deserves to make a living, so I hope our servers, and staff are well taken care of! read more

Wonderful, local place. Simple, pretty space. Great service. But the standout is the food! The Brussels sprouts are amazing and the other night we had a pizza with asparagus on it that was terrific. I've had the burger several times and it never disappoints. One of my favorite desserts is their homemade chocolate chip cookie. It arrived warm and gooey and was so nice. Definitely check this place out. Glad to have them nearby. We also get takeout sometimes. read more

wow if I could give this place 100 stars I would. We decided on Creekwood for a little fun date night after finding it on Yelp's Top 100 of 2021 & it's definitely worthy of that title. we shared 3 dishes & finished it all so you know it's good!! Food: We ordered Brussel sprouts to share & they were the best I've ever eaten. the bowl is also HUGE for the price. Perfect amount of saltiness from the seasoning & perfect amount of crunch. They were cooked just the right softness on the inside. MUST ORDER. then, we shared the pesto gnocchi & meatball calzone. gnocchi was amazing, fluffy and soft and chewy. the sauce coated the little pillows perfectly. heavy cheese though so if you're not into that, then don't order this LOL. meatball calzone was delicious as well and the meatballs were flavored perfectly and the pizza crust was crunchy but not hard. Overall, we both LOVED the sprouts & the gnocchi (would order again!) and enjoyed the calzone but probably will try something else next time we visit. The Moscow mule was also delicious! Service: Ben was the best server! He was always checking in to make sure we had all our dishes, cleared plates away, overall very attentive. There was also another lady filling our waters and she was the sweetest & gave us the best recommendations! (don't know her name but had a high pitched voice) Definitely would recommend trying this place out if you have a chance!! Came on a Tuesday night & booked the day before & most slots were still empty. Not sure if they take walk ins though. Book on opentable! read more

The service here was great! The lighting & candle lit center pieces on each table really added to the ambience of this restaurant. It looked cozy. Outdoor seating & indoor seating is available but due to the size of the restaurant, I wouldn't suggest to bring large parties of more than 10 here. The host sat us, & offered us to taste beer, & wine prior to ordering. They took care of us, & the quality of the food was very good. I had the ribeye 16oz, & my goodness it was tender & flavorful. I had it done medium rare. I'm definitely returning. Oysters tasted fresh, the local halibut was good as well. I would definitely recommend this place if you're catching up with a friend or going on a date. Definitely a good spot to dine. One star off, only because I felt that parking can be difficult, & restaurant was small, & they only sell beer & wine, with a small selection of cocktails. Pricing is very standard, & expected for this type of restaurant so please do visit! read more

I've had this restaurant bookmarked ever since I saw it listed in Yelp's Top 100 restaurants. I'm so glad I came and tried it last night. I came on a Wednesday night and there were plenty of tables. I could see it getting very busy on the weekends. My friend and I shared the crispy brussel sprouts, gnocchi, and Margherita pizza. Everything was delicious!! I love how the brussel sprouts were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and was the perfect balance between sweet and salty. The Margherita pizza was also good and loved the fresh basil on top. It got cold very fast so I would've finished this faster. My favorite of the night was the gnocchi. The texture was like soft clouds and the sauce that accompanied it was even better. We ended up using the crust from the pizza to eat the leftover sauce on our plates. The food is amazing and is pretty affordable for a nice restaurant setting. So I could have sworn I reviewed before our take out experience which was awesome. We loved the food. This time we went and had our meal at Creekwood for Father's Day. The food was mostly good. We had a lot of things: Little gems salad: too much dressing but good Asparagus pizza: awesome Sausage pizza: awesome Pasta: awesome brussel sprouts with sugar topping?! It was weird but still ok. I would have preferred it without the sugar topping and it should have an aioli to dip the sprouts in. The service was snarky. The waiter seemed like he had an attitude the entire time and I have no idea why. I had read yelp reviews prior and it said that you could bring your dog and how nice they were about bringing water out. We'll, they never brought water out for my dog and when I asked, the water had hairs or fibers in it. So weird. Maybe the owner came at the end of the meal to check on things. He didn't say his name but we didn't mention anything because, why? The experience was over. Overall, I would say it was a good experience. The food is great but in the future, we will stick with take-out which we love. read more

We have been driving by this place for years and finally decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint. Our server Paulo was amazing. He gave great recommendations and was quick to check on us after our food arrived. We had the Brussels sprouts, pork chop and a cameroni ragu. Everything was great. Paulo brought us out a Calabrian chili paste for the pasta and with a bit of additional salt the dish was an absolute home run. The Brussels were nice and crispy, but could have used a hit of lemon juice or something acidic (they were still good without). The pork chop was absolutely massive and the morel sauce that came with it was rich and decadent. For dessert we were feeling pretty full due to the generous portions of all of the dishes we had so we went for the blood orange sorbeto which was a perfect way to end the meal. We saw the carrot cake get delivered to the table next to us as we were wrapping up and knew immediately we have to come back to try it. We chatted with the owner Greg for awhile. He was extremely personable and gave us insights into all of the food. Apparently he also makes all of the desserts. If you're reading this do yourself a favor and give this place a try. My boyfriend and I came in for dinner during a busy rush. We were thinking about turning away to eat elsewhere, but the manager was very accommodating and sat us down at their high top area in less than 10 minutes. He ordered us our first round of drinks, as well as our appetizers while our server was greeting other tables. Because it was busy, we had to sit shoulder to shoulder alongside other people, but we aren't too picky about that. The ambiance is very intimate, perfect for date night, however it can be a little loud when busy due to larger parties. We were then greeted by our server who was the sweetest young lady ever (I didn't get her name) and she guided us through the menu and gave us her recommendations. We ended up ordering the margherita pizza and the prosciutto pizza.. shook. These pizzas were amazing. Thin crust, delicious sauce, fresh ingredients.. and not to mention their chocolate molten cake for dessert was the perfect end to our meal. My boyfriend said this spot makes the best margherita pizzas he has ever tried.. go try it out! read more

** The following review reflects my delivery experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** This is the kind of comforting upscale restaurant that makes me long to go back to an actual face-to-face dining experience. Someday soon hopefully. It was the high quality of what Jamie W. and I ordered that evoked that memory of what now seems like an eternity to a foodie like me. I discovered that co-owners Greg Poulios and Mark Louie worked together at Zuppa in the city (which closed about three years ago) and that executive chef Liam Bonner ran the menu there as well as a long-ago favorite of mine, Globe. I remember the roast chicken and Margherita pizza at Zuppa, so it made sense that the Cali-Italianate menu was so appealing to us. We started with the $13 Little Gems Salad, which combined little gem lettuce with banana fingerling potatoes, red onion, crispy pancetta, and a six-minute egg halved, all of it sprinkled with pecorino and accompanied by a creme fraiche vinaigrette (photo: https://bit.ly/2RFSyi0). It was a hearty melange and quite tasty. The main event for me was the $27 Roasted Half Chicken which was separated conveniently into dark and white pieces. You just know I like dark, while Jamie prefers white, and the chicken was complemented by sunchoke puree, seared cauliflower, and collard greens (photo: https://bit.ly/2RFsW4O). The poultry was tender and juicy with the greens giving it more of a southern twang than a Neapolitan accent. Jamie then surprised me by ordering the $19 Meatball Calzone, quite a carb-intensive confection stuffer with house-made meatballs, mozzarella, pecorino, chives, and marinara sauce (photo: https://bit.ly/3v57F2S). What a gloriously savory turnover! Coming in at #36, the restaurant made Yelp's Top 100 this year. Well deserved from what we had. Just enjoyed our first (but not last!) visit to Creekwood before a show at Berkeley Rep. The location is a bit unexpected but the ambiance and vibe is just perfect. We went on a Friday night and it was packed inside and out. The food was amazing and portions are huge! You can easily fill up on the small (not small) plates at the beginning of the menu. We tried the Brussels sprouts and the beet salad to start. Both were very tasty. We also had a pizza and the papardelle with mushrooms. The pizza was simple, crispy and perfectly charred. The pasta was amazing too. Can't wait to go back! read more

Our family had dinner on sunday night and were underwhelmed by the service. We were seated for over 15 minutes before our server came by. I asked if the fries that came w/my burger could be subbed for any kind of vegetable - when the food arrived no veg, just fries. The other server dropped off our food when it was ready - our waiter came by about 2/3 through the meal to see if we needed anything. Once we received our bill, he'd entered my glass of wine incorrectly resulting in a higher charge. It was an overall disappointing experience. read more
