What drew me in was the giant welcoming space. From the street, you can tell that there's plenty of table space with plugs pretty well distributed along the wall. Since Starbucks across the street was entirely full, this seemed like a good alternative since I wanted a smoothie rather than coffee anyway. Yes, everything here is on the slightly expensive side, especially for Astoria. But I think it's because of their striving for fresh food options in the health food desert of Queens. Everything is made from scratch on the premises (at least from what I could see of the kitchen). They pipe in pop music overhead, but I found that headphones easily blocked out the volume. I came here a lot but today I had a very bad experience. The food was not well cooked. The sweet potatoes were hard, the sweet plantains were very hard and dry, and the macaroni was rotten. This plate made me very nauseous, I would have complained at the restaurant and asked for my $20 back but I began eating the food when I arrived home. Picture that your corner bodega expanded and made pseudo foo with a certain how do you call it Greek flair (Zeus bowl anyone?) and shakes and salads and a whole mess of other stuff. It is Astoria after all. Do I expect that all of it will be great? No. The appeal is that you'll find something you like here and come back to get it again and possibly even be able to sit down to enjoy it because there is a real lack of seats in other establishments which are just smaller. Ultimately this is a convenient store to have in the neighborhood and it's better than another bank, 99 cent store, or overpriced restaurant trying to pay the rent by flipping overpriced burgers. A meal can cost you about ten dollars but it's not a bad one and might even be mostly healthy. read more

Let me start by saying typically I love create. The salads, sandwiches, bowls, etc. are always good and they have great options. HOWEVER, my fiancé and I almost always order delivery, and literally every single time we order there is something wrong with our order. Ingredients are either left out or the wrong things are added. Sometimes you just shrug it off, but other times it is the most frustrating thing ever. It's not exactly cheap, and when you add in delivery fees and tips, I want exactly what I order. It can't be that hard to read an order and make accordingly. I'm starting to think that we need to find a new place, which is upsetting bc we do actually like Create, but it's not worth it if you order something and your directions are ignored. read more

I've been meaning to try Create for a while now, but I wasn't blown away. The atmosphere is cool, and they do have some healthy choices and a complete different smoothie area that I would like to try some day. BUT I came here and I was a little bit lost to be honest since the layout is a bit different. I wasn't even greeted or explained or anything. I had a chipotle burger and it was ok. I don't think I'd have that again but they have a bowl and salad section that maybe I'd give some second thought. Customer service here is very indifferent, even at the cashier. I used to like this restaurant but after what happened the other night, my family and I will never order from this place again. Not only does the order get processed late, but the delivery takes an hour/plus to get to us when we live a few blocks away. We ordered from Grubhub and all the ingredients are labeled, and any changes we need to our order are visibly mentioned. We ordered a salad, and asked that it include the dressing on the side and with avocado in it. The salad instead comes with no avocado, and drenched in the dressing, so much so that the lid was not closed good and got all over every sandwich and the bags. After calling the restaurant., a female manager (middle age with blonde hair) proceeded to explain that it was our mistake, that "[we] make mistakes too," and that they couldn't refund us any money. They offered to send a new one, but at that point; it would've been delivered in an hour again and everyone's food would have been cold. Meanwhile, we live very close by, where a new salad could've been run out in like 5 minutes. Anyways, her attitude was so horrible and when she wouldn't even correct her mistake or admit fault and refund us for the one salad, we decided to go to the restaurant to return the salad. We get there and this manager (how I got the physical detailing of her) was nasty to us. Absolutely horrendous. Eventually she apologized and "didn't mean to come off as rude," however she still didn't see fault, took the old drenched salad back, and didn't refund us. At that point, we lost money for nothing. All in all; they lost business and customers that have eaten with them since they first came here. P.S. - After going back the next day, a male manager apologized completely, claimed that he would speak to the other manager about this incident, and refunded us the money for the salad. I went there to pick up a salad, and though it was good, I felt it was a little expensive. As a very healthy person, I do not eat meat from most places unless I am 100% sure it is organic. SO I basically go to an Amish farm get my food... SO at Create, I go the large salad, without protein, and added a bunch of things, like tomatoes, olives, cucumber, cheap things really, and once tossed around with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, wrapped in a plastic container, my total was $10 and something... Can't remember as I didn't get a receipt. My friend had two sides, meaning sweet potatoes and beans, she got two drinks and paid over $12, which I thought was a bit stiff... But maybe I'm not used to this type of place. It seems people love going there, and will buy anything at any price. A chocolate bar, that I know to be very good quality and tasty, was $4.50 before taxes. It's only chocolate guys, what happened to family places where you could eat and drink for less than ten bucks? Astoria is a great place to eat, and Create is good, but I cannot justify the prices. read more

I thought the food was okay, not amazing but pretty decent. The people that work here rush you and its a bad set up, with a not so direct instruction on where/how to order. They try to overcharge you so be careful with that. I simply wanted a wrap on bread instead of a tortilla and they wanted to charge an additional amount. I just tried their chipotle quinoa bowl with grilled salmon and it was pretty good, except the salmon was more on the drier side but not bad. They seem to have a very extensive menu-salads, sandwiches, smoothies, coffee, breakfast items, burgers, bowls blah,blah... which can be overwhelming for an indecisive person like myself. The portions, well at least for the bowls are massive- suitable for two meals. I think if you're in the area and looking for a healthy meal this place is suitable. Foods ok. First time we visited the place was about a month ago. My boyfriend got the pad Thai wrap and said it was ok. At the time I was recovering from tonsillectomy surgery and specifically asked the gentleman behind the counter if the chicken cream soup was spicy or had any spices and he said no. WRONG! Lots of cayenne pepper! A Spoon later I wanted to die and it was in the garbage. Today we decided to order from them and give it a shot and again it was just ok. He got the pad Thai wrap again and I made my own omelette. It was pretty good considering you can add up to 4 items. Only problem was that I chose the "Garden salad" as my side and it was literally a handful of mix greens straight out of a container. I've been a customer of Create for 4 years now, but recently I've been disappointed time and time again. Delivery basically isn't an option because the order is usually incorrect. I've received a completely brown avocado in a delivery order, the wrong size salad, a salad without dressing, and orders with missing ingredients /sides/sauces. Today was sadly the final straw for me. I went in and ordered a vegan rainbow bowl (listed at $9.99) and added chicken to it. I asked for spicy mayo on it after it had been sealed (I profusely apologized) and was met with great irritation and attitude. When I went to check out I was told it would cost $17! For vegetables, quinoa, and a piece of chicken. I said that was wild and was told because it was a vegan bowl it would cost $6 for the piece of chicken! Craziness. Like a tax for being a meat eater. I'm a big fan of the food itself and enjoy the healthier options but it's too much of a hassle to get what you ask for (and apparently at a reasonable price!). read more

Such a great place! Was picking up my sister from school and decided to take her here for lunch. The atmosphere, location, and view are all amazing. I ordered the "Korea Town" sandwich and my sister got "The Astoria." Being Muslim, I usually have to pay close attention to the menu to make sure nothing I'm ordering has pork, but I don't have to worry about that here because they don't sell any pork!! Both sandwiches exceeded our expectations! The beef in my sandwich was so soft and juicy. My sister said her sandwich was one of the best she's had in Astoria. The only reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars was because we ordered the chipotle fries and they forgot to include them in the bag, resulting in them having to deliver the fries. Would recommend it to all my friends, and can't wait to eat there again! read more

I used to be a big fan of this place until, like many other Astoria businesses, started cutting corners. The portion of meat in their bowls is getting smaller and smaller. And its not like I am demanding super size portions, but a 3 inch size portion of salmon in a $13 bowl is simply unacceptable. I asked them to put in a tiny bit more and they tried to charge e $23. Avoid this place. Stinginess like this is why many places don't last too long in Astoria and this joint is going downhill as well. read more

Fast, fresh food with the health conscious eater in mind. Very clean. Very quick. A lot like Dig Inn, or imagine if chipotle upped it's game and also served a ton more vegetables and fruit smoothies etc... a lot of make your own combo plates or quinoa bowls and wraps. So many options you might get overwhelmed, but there really is something good here for everyone. Pretty affordable, and really varied flavorful options. Create is an awesome addition to the Ditmars area! While, I've only tried their smoothies (the ginger one is so far my favorite ), the other foods that they serve look amazing! ! Recently visited for a quick lunch and loved everything about this place. Made a bowl, everything was very tasty and fresh. Also was I and our very quickly. I went with Brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, broccoli and the steak. Also got a ice coffee from the coffee bar,m which was great. Definitely recommend for a fast, healthy, tasty meal. read more

I want to love them so bad but it's always just a few downsides with them. There's only a couple of employees there who are so sweet but the others just always have a attitude as if they hate their job. Working in customer service you should always be upbeat. The other thing is that they almost never have açaí bowls, why have something on the menu that you can't sell? I get it once or twice, but numerous times that you run of açaí is ridiculous. My go to is half a chicken , broccoli, sweet potato n usually 1 other veggie and it's delicious and under $15!! I've been to this place a few times and got açaí bowls and they're very good but the employees there not so much. When I ordered the bowls both times I went this weekend they weren't very nice and they had attitude. On top of that when I went to pay the second day the prices were switched up. The first day I got an açaí bowl with pineapple added and peanut butter added extra and the price was $11.45 then the next day I went in I got the same açaí bowl but didn't order the pineapple extra only peanut butter and the price was $12.30 I told them that the day before that the pricing was different and instead of trying to resolve the issue nicely they were giving me attitude and I was getting upset. Eventually I went to give the money and the worker said to me "I'm going to be nice and make it $11.42" I was very disappointed with this service. Overall the food is good but I didn't appreciate the nasty and negative attitude. read more

Awful experience with this restaurant. Food is still not here an hour and fifteen minutes late. Called the restaurant and got yelled at on the phone that it was busy and we are far away.
