Stumbled across this place via Instagram, because I saw the cream of crab soup, which looked so appealing. This is a little hidden gem in Chinatown. I'd definitely say that I enjoyed what I ordered, three out of three! The margarita was strong and citrusy, Which they had two other choices as well, but this one appealed to me most. The Cajun calamari was lightly breaded, and the calamari was actually seasoned. The sauce that came with the calamari was pretty good too. I had to get an extra one, which was an additional $.50. The wait for the calamari was fairly long, but the server then apologized about that. it was a cool environment, cool, music played as well. I believe it's in some type of mall, because it was a bit hard to find. I would've given this place five stars, but it was the length behind the wait time for the calamari, and when asked for an additional sauce, I was still charged, despite the lengthy wait. But ya boy couldn't wait and had to come through. It's was expensive but well worth it. I recommend starting your order off with Cajun fries and at least 5lbs of crawfish. The garlic parmesan wings were okay, but the soft shell crab was just right. For the crawfish sauce, the mix is a solid choice. Get spicy if you can hang. It'll get your nose running and mouth wanting more. Pro tip: Once you start seeing the sauce at the bottom of the crawfish bowl. Dip your Cajun fries in that mix sauce. The crawfish are huge. The oysters were also very good. They have house cocktail sauce that's very tasteful. I also tried the gumbo and that was delicious. One of the best gumbos I've had. But the water was average. It wasn't Fiji water Small place, so expect a long wait. I had to wait 30 minutes, but it was well worth it. read more

She was able to put in my order and told me the order will be ready in 30 minutes. Got there right after 30 minutes of placing the order and it was just finished hot out the kitchen. The crawfish was seasoned perfectly. The mild level of heat, i feel like did not have as much flavor as the spicy. It's not to spicy and has a lot more flavor. I was half expecting them to be lacking in flavor, since I rarely eat wings with just salt and pepper, but like all fine meats, I discovered that amazing wings need only salt and pepper. The tactile experience of removing, biting, and slurping the head juice with the perfectly cooked meat of the tail was all I could have asked for. Meal 2: Fried Catfish Fried Oysters Fried Shrimp Hushpuppies The catfish was light as air. It was so tender and soft, I could not use a fork. Buttery and delicious. This has raised the bar for me on what catfish could be and should be. The oysters and shrimp were exactly as I wanted, nothing more or less. Came on a tuesday afternoon, and there was no wait at all. It was located inside a strip mall, kind of hard to find if you never been here! The food was pretty good. My cousin wanted crawfish, and I'm not that big of a fan of crawfish, so I opted for the shrimp. The flavor was on point, but the only downside I had was that it was too hard to peel the shrimp, or it was stuck to the skin. Normally at other seafood boils where I am from, it is effortless for the shell to come off the shrimp. I just had to put a little more work for my food. The spice level was also not that different between mild and medium. What was very pleasant to me was the fried soft shell crab! Came here after seeing it on multiple lists of best places to have crawfish in Houston and it did not disappoint. What's great about this place vs other places we've been to is all the different flavors you can choose from. Best of all the minimum orders is only a 1 lbs so you could really try them all if you wanted too. We tried The Grail (garlic butter/Thai basil), the signature (garlic butter/kickin Cajun). Coco loco, and original Cajun. We enjoyed them all but my favorite was probably a the coco loco. It's just so different then anything else, it reminds me of Tom Kha soup. We did most of them medium and the original Cajun spicy. Probably next time we'll go we'll do them all spicy as it's not that bad but enough to feel it. Size of crawfish was pretty decent, mostly medium with a few jumbo and a few small mixed in. We also did the Salted Egg wok fired Blue Crab. While the flavor was good on this, there wasn't a lot of crab and we had to work to get it. We'll probably just stick with the Crawfish next time. More like a 3.5 star rating, this crawfish heaven is located in the mall strip and sort of out of place. There isn't an atmosphere or privacy, but what the hell. I came specifically for the crawfish but there are a lot of other options like boiled crab legs, wings, fries, fried okra, catfish, etc. The sauces are awesome to flavor up the hot and steamy crawfish here, and I enjoyed the mix of lemon pepper and garlic butter. The cajun fries were nice and crisp. Side order of sausage was just okay but I expected a little bit more for the $. Same goes for the corn (1/3 of a cob?!) and boiled potatoes (3). The wait can get pretty long but my party and I were lucky enough to beat the crowd early in the evening. In contrast, the wait time to get our orders were long...my crawfish came out maybe 30mins after everyone elses and our server didn't seem to have a clue about it until we politely asked. You get gloves and a bib to work with although the gloves made the work 2x as hard...think hot and slippery crawfish. We would recommend ordering 1 pound a person at a time, because otherwise they get cold. One of my favorite crawfish place. This gem is located in the Hong Kong city mall. It may look a bit sketchy walking in but it's worth it. I normally get 2-3lbs of crawfish with the mix plus Thai basil extra spicy. This is the best blend of spices. If you're not familiar with viet-cajun crawfish, they boil the crawfish and then toss them in this sauce so it's all smothered in the outside. I prefer this to the normal Cajun style, because there's more depth to the flavors and the crawfish isn't overcooked. I've tried other dishes here but the boil seafood is the way to go here. If you need more sides, I would recommend the crab fried rice or the chicken wings. read more

Positives first .. the fried rice was awesome. I went for the Cajun (crawfish, shrimp and Chinese sausage) and even with no soy sauce or sriracha the flavor was there. Got an order to go as well. Clearly from the two stars you should be able to gather that the main attraction was not it. We waited on the crawfish for about 25 min .. it was lukewarm damn near cold. We didn't make a big deal of it and only asked them to pour more hot juice on the crawfish to warm them up a bit and the juice was still cold. It made the crawfish not even enjoyable. May 28, 2016 I have a friend who raves about this place. Since it's crawfish season, I thought why not. Better try it why they're still fresh. This place is inside HK4, next to Ocean palace. So we were curious of the same thing. Of course we didn't say "at this place they do this..." It was just more like, "Do you offer corn or anything extra if we order a certain amount?" But she kind of looked at us like, "did you not read the menu?" kind of looked like she was annoyed. Maybe because it was because it was memorial day weekend. Service was a bit slow. But when we did get service, my mom felt like she got rushed. Crawfish at 6.99/lb is actually pretty good vs other places with 7.99-8.99. Besides the bibs, they offer you gloves. Nice. On the table there's other things available to you which I don't regularly see at other places. They have mayo, liquid butter, and of course ketchup. They also have the crawfish seasoning in a salt/pepper shaker. Cajun Fries They are ALMOST as good as LA Fisherman. They had that nice crunch to it with the crispy outside and potato inside. Yum. BUT they were HELLA SALTY. I had to drown them in ketchup so it wouldn't be so salty. The Mix - Garlic Butter & Lemon Pepper Goddamn. This was hella good. We got 4lb and they had a good mix of large and medium crawfish in there. And a tiny handful of small. But mostly large. So I was really happy about that. Have you ever been to a place and think omg, I must come back soon because it's that good? This place is it for me. I only like a few crawfish places (why try others when I have a favorite?) but I came here this past Friday first time, and I came back on Monday because it was on my mind the whole weekend. I never set foot into HK Mall for like years, so this is a pleasant surprise to find a good place in this complex to visit now. I love the Kickin' Cajun flavor and The Mixed is also pretty good (mix of Garlic Butter and Lemon Pepper). I'm usually not a big fan of sweet sauces, so it's not too perfect now, but the seasoning is just awesome. If they lower the sweetness, it would be purr-fect. The sauce marinates the crawfish meat so well that after you peel the shell, you can so taste the flavors! The shrimp was like that as well. I got it spicy both times I went, and it's the right amount of spicy level for me. I liked that they had different appetizers, and I thought the crawfish eggrolls were unique, but it wasn't awesome to me (and I had it both times!). The crawfish, however, was spot on still really good. I also liked the fries as well. The chicken wings were average. Another positive was they give the butter, ketchup, and mayonnaise in bottles for you to decide how much you want to put in little cups. If you visit, I recommend only the crawfish and the fries - those are the two I would come back for. Service was ok, but for some reason, I think they pay more attention to customers in the booths rather than on the tables in the center. We called in to ask what size their crawfish was and they said medium and when we got there it actually really was medium sized! (Places rarely tell the truth when it's not crawfish season yet) At first I ordered 2lbs of crawfish but as I looked down the menu I saw this bucket that had crawfish, half a lb of snow crab, large shrimp, clams, mussels, sausage, corn, and potatoes for around 25 so I ran up to change my order and she hadn't put it in yet so I was able to! I got the mix flavor mild which is a combination of literally everything. The food came out pretty quick and my bucket was hugeeee. But I'm proud to say with the exception of a few sausages and potatoes I finished the whole thing! Everything was good and fresh and the little clams also mostly stayed in the shell which impressed me.The flavor was good, the only complaint I have is that while I really do like garlic I had sooooo much garlic on mine that it was literally clumped on to everything. I ordered two lbs of shrimp and two lbs of crawfish in medium spicy "kickin' Cajun" towards the end I was starting to get really sick because it was overly spicy for being medium spice level and the taste of it just wasn't there for me. My friend got clams with "The mix" sauce medium spicy and it was delicious I honestly dipped all my shrimp on crawfish in there. The shrimp were good big sizes and the crawfish were fresh and yummy! I also got Cajun fries and it was okay just tasted like regular fries nothing special. If it wasn't for my friends sauce I was dipping in I probably would of rated a little bit lower but now that I know I like that flavor better I will return and order that next time. My friend didn't enjoy her shrimp because it was over cooked and the shell of it just wouldn't come off when she tried to peel it. But she did enjoy the clams and the flavor of it! I would say this is a hidden gems inside a questionable mall. We ordered crawfish with kickin cajun + garlic and fried oyster with corn as a side. All of these foods were good, even though half of the crawfishes were significantly smaller than another half. They have very efficient order taking. Either you call in advance or you just come and order on spot, they will make your order ready mostly less than the time they promised you. They would text you, as they asked your number even you do on the spot order. So for those who prefer to order to go on the spot and wait, there are descent waiting bench in from of the store. What could make them get 5 stars? Better understanding what customer wants. I couldn't make my corn side to be put inside the crawfish bag to be seasoned, so my corn became plain corn... I didn't push it because i gave up explaining what i want to the order taker. Another thing is the crawfish size, but i don't really think this is fair to push to get equally big size crawfishes in the same bag. read more

I am from Louisiana so Ive been eating crawfish for as long as I can remember. This crawfish is slightly different than Cajun crawfish, it is viet crawfish so you can pick flavors which is pretty awesome. The crawfish were perfectly cooked and many were pretty large. As hard as it is to admit, these were better than Cajun crawfish. One of my favorite food experiences ever. Worth the hour wait. Will be back for sure. Gumbo - also fantastic, the roux was super flavorful Wings - they were huge, juicy, and tasty.
