I had an amazing experience at Crawfish Cafe! This was my first time in Texas at all, and it was very heartwarming and comforting to see such a strong Vietnamese community in Houston. Our server was really nice, energetic, and funny. I didn't catch his name, but he really liked to crack jokes. Although I didn't understand all of them, I appreciated the effort. I really liked the atmosphere inside the restaurant, which combined traditional Vietnamese decor such as the moped and coconut boats along with more modern elements like the vibrant mural. And most of all, I loved the creative combination of southern cajun and Vietnamese flavors! There was a large selection of cocktails with Vietnamese flavors that I absolutely could not choose between: Pandan Colada... Lychee Mai Tai... Vietnamese Mojito... But per our server's recommendation, I settled on the Lemongrass Mule. It was refreshing, and I thought the lemongrass flavor worked well with the ginger beer. My favorite thing that I had was "The Grail" sauce in my seafood boil. The thai basil felt very unique and the sauce was so garlicky and delicious! I mopped up the sauce with my garlic bread. Then, I dumped my garlic noodles into the bowl to soak up every last drop! And although we were at the tail end of crawfish season, the crawfish were still relatively plump. The tails were sweet and tender and the heads were bursting with juices! I completely destroyed my 1/2 pound of crawfish. I got combo 2, which also came with a cluster of snow crabs legs! The snow crab legs also went very well with the sauce. And the best part is that it only cost $37! As a native Southern Californian, I could not believe my eyes. I also really liked the crawfish beignets! Upon bite, the pastry burst with delicious savory, cheesy goodness. The filling was so creamy and infused with crawfish flavor. I loved it and thought it was so creative. I also really liked the spicy mayo it came with. For pickier eaters that do not like seafood, there are many options available. My boyfriend opted for the "Bird Pack," which came with 6 wings, cajun rice, potatoes, and sausage. The chicken and rice tasted very good and flavorful.  My only critique is that I wish I got more of the scallion oil flavor from the scallion oil grilled oysters.  This is the best meal I've had in Houston so far! I would totally come back and will be craving this once I go home to California. I can't wait to see what else Houston has to offer.

I went on a Saturday evening at 6. But we didn't get seated till after 7. It was worth the hour wait though. Everything I had there was very good. From the oyster sampler to the crawfish beignets, micheladas and their special seasoned crawfish. I definitely recommend their house special blend signature. And I would get the reg chargrilled and the viet style grilled oysters again. They were great. It was a full house and it was full but not stupid crowded which was nice. The volume level of the crowd and room was nice, not too much echo like some places I've been. Our waiter Ethan was amazing. He was very helpful and friendly. Hopefully we will have him again next time.

I love beignet!!! It's really good and warm! I recommend the beignet and crawfish! They are tasty with Louisiana style. There's a Vietnamese decoration inside. The service always makes sure to check if we are okay with the food.

I love their space after the remodel. Huge cafe with plenty of seating! They have a full bar. We were immediately seated at 6 PM on a Tuesday evening. Great service from Anh! They even have robots delivering food to the tables! On 4/7 - the live crawfish were good sizes, mainly large at $9.99/lb. We got the lemon pepper, medium spice level. It arrived in 15 minutes. It was so flavorful, so good! We found out later that the Viet Cajun flavor is available only at this location so we will be back to try. The combination pho from Pho Prime was surprisingly really good, plenty of meat and noodles were cooked perfect. The boudin eggrolls were also good! We had a really good dining experience here and find the flavors are better than their other locations. I can't wait to go back for more crawfish and seafood!

Great service, food, and ambiance (as you can see the interior was also quite pretty)! I came alone on a Monday evening and got seated immediately. I've been to other Crawfish Cafe locations so I knew what to expect as far as flavor and menu options but I was blown away by the fact that this location also offers pho and banh mi Drink: their mango margarita is my go to drink from them because it always hits the spot and worth all the bang for your buck (only $7.50 and you only need 1) Entree: got 2 pounds of crawfish & 1 pound of (headless) shrimp in medium Viet Cajun & Thai basil sauce. I usually get their signature sauce but my waitress (Thi) convinced me to try something new and it did not disappoint! This sauce combo had a nice kick and really blended the Asian flavor influences very well. I also added a corn on the cob that did not live up to the hype of the rest of my meal Needless to say, I will be returning to try their pho and other menu items!

OVERVIEW: Arrived around 12:15pm on a Friday and only waited 10-15 mins. to be seated. Super busy but so good. Service was very casual and a little slow, but everything we ordered was great. Coming from Austin where we don't have a ton of Viet Cajun crawfish, this was great crawfish and I was excited to get to try it during crawfish season. The crawfish were a great size and pricing was reasonable. Would definitely revisit if I was in Houston again! QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, huge shopping center with plenty of parking. - Reservations? No, but I think you can call ahead to join the waitlist. - Happy hour? No. FOOD RATING: Everything was super flavorful and tasty. We came for the crawfish and were satisfied with what we ordered! Would definitely revisit.

Nut allergy friendly: I had no issues with anything here! Parking: Plenty in the big Hong Kong mall lot. We came with a group of 8 and had about a 10 minute wait on a Monday at 7PM. Time to Order: ~15 minutes for the Garlic Noodles, ~20 minutes for appetizers like wings and beignets, ~40 minutes for crawfish I shared a #1 combo with one other person. I would add another pound of crawfish ($11/lb) if you have any appetite. The amount of shrimp, corn, and potato is appropriate (maybe double potato or corn if you especially like that). I also had one beignet and a chicken wing as part of the shared group order. Crawfish Beignet (5/5): Wow, how unique is this. Incredibly rich and flavorful with an excellent crispy bite. Definitely would order again, not sure if I could handle more than 1-2 myself. Wings (3.5/5): Overall surprisingly good and decent valued wings. Crawfish (4.5/5): A solid mix of larger crawfish (big enough to even get some meat from the claws) and smaller ones, and we got the Viet Cajun style and it was delicious. The spice really mixed in well with the corn. Clams (which one person at my table ordered separately) really pick up the spice. I got to try the Extra Spicy and would definitely get that next time. The regular spicy was good. Garlic Noodles (4.5/5): Excellent palate cleanser and good portions to be sharable if the entree size is ordered. Vincent was a great waiter and kept our drinks topped off. Their renovations look very modern and although it took a while for our crawfish to come out, apps were great to keep us satiated. Looking forward to coming back again.

The new updated crawfish cafe is so nice! Despite all the changes they still remain consistent in flavor and quality! Their crawfish is always cooked perfectly and my favorite flavor to get is their signature. We had Kendall as our server, and she was so quick and attentive despite how busy it was. The new updated venue looks so much nicer, they have more room for large parties and I love their pandan cocktail! I Can't wait to come Back and to try more. I would also like to recommend their fried okra!! Their okra tasted so fresh, it still had a good bite to it and wasn't mushy at all!

Crawfish Cafe is one of the OG's in Houston. They recently remodeled and teamed up with a Pho Spot and I really like how they decorated interior. Much more seating and they even added outdoor seating as well now. For apps, we ordered the Crawfish Beignets (inside of crispy pocket was filled with a creamy etouffee filling and was pretty flavorful, included 3 pieces), Charreboiled Oysters (really reminded me of Dragos in NOLA, good size and liked the charr on them), Fish Sauce Wings (crispy and flavorful) and Cajun Fries (also crispy). Crawfish is $10.90/lb at the moment and I ordered 3lbs of the Kickin Cajun (a little of each size and flavor was pretty good). I also got their sweet potato waffle fries which were really great and crispy as well. They have a washing station for people that just need to wash their hands and restrooms were clean as well. Parking - within the ocean palace plaza Our waiter Emmanuel was super nice and friendly,

TLDR: Loved the renovations. Hand wash station greatly appreciated. Our server, Loan, was on point with her recommendations! She provided great service by being patient and checking up on us often. Food was delicious. Have to come back for the pho. Came by on a Friday afternoon at around 5pm and the line was already forming. Luckily, my party of 5 was able to be seated within 10 minutes. By the time we left, the line was wrapping around, overheard it was a 3 hour wait for them. So if you don't like waiting, definitely don't come during peak hours. (Takeout is an option as well.) Recommend the crawfish egg rolls as a starter. Crawfish cheese bread was OK, but nothing special. Ordered 1lb crawfish, corn, and potatoes with "the mix" seasoning. You can adjust the spice level to your liking. Appreciate the bibs and gloves provided, but still leaving there with fragrant butter garlic hands. ;] ordered the lychee lemonade, not overly sweet and you taste the lychee. It was refreshing! Service was great. Hope you get Loan (pronounced "lawn") because she will take care of you! I preferred this location over the heights mainly because of parking. Thanks for fulfilling my crawfish craving for the season, Crawfish Cafe!

Crawfish Cafe (Bellaire) just got renovated and the inside looks really nice now, definitely a big upgrade. That said, be prepared to wait. Parking is honestly a headache since the lot is shared with a bunch of other busy spots, so it can take a while to even find a space. Food-wise, it's a bit hit or miss. The crawfish seasoning hasn't been consistent. I ordered "spicy" last week and it barely had any spice, my friend who can't handle spice even said it wasn't spicy. Came back this week, ordered the same thing, and this time it actually had a kick. The oysters were fresh and really good. Overall, nice vibe after the renovation, but just know what to expect with parking and consistency

I wish I could've tried more & taken more pics but the crawfish was soooo good & the flavors at crawfish cafe are always sooo good ! I got one of the house blend sauces, spicy level & it was amazing & so garlic-y ! I love viet crawfish bc of that! I did get the boudin balls (not pictured) they were a different texture than im used to, kinda like mushy & I didn't care for them but they won't take away from everything else. I'll go back & try the egg rolls or empanadas. (Which everyone recommends anyways) The crawfish was a great price & very worth it. The service was so quick & they were so friendly despite looking like a busy Friday night. Our wait time was about 20 mins for a table of 6 around 5pm. The vibes there were so welcoming, friendly & the space was so open & big. I will definitely be back to try more & some pho too since it's combined now which is such a great addition!!

They serve beer and wine but have some Asian wine-based cocktails. This is truly a fusion restaurant since they have Vietnamese, American, Chinese, Thai, and Peruvian influences on their menu. They have boiled seafood, of course, including crawfish during the season. On every table is also a $12.95 lunch menu with soups, sandwiches and seafood dishes. This may be one of the better deals out there. We tried a few dishes: drunken lobster, surf and turf, crab fried rice, drunken tofu, and shrimp with salted egg. Two additional people in our group came a little later and actually ordered the lunch special (pork chop plate) and chicken wings. Their napkins are a little strange as they're tri-fold style like you would normally see in a restroom. The dishes were pretty good, but I ended up eating mostly noodles since their garlic noodles are pretty addicting. The sirloin that came on the steak dish was supposedly a little tough but that is typical of a basic sirloin steak. I didn't actually get to sample it since other people grabbed it before I could. They only had L and XL size lobster the day we came...so they said their prices were around $90 and $108...I think we selected the $90 size. The drunken lobster dish can be shared between 2 people as it's a big platter but just 1 cut up lobster. The garlic noodles beneath the lobster pieces on the drunken lobster are way better than the noodles beneath the shrimp and steak on the surf and turf since they are stir-fried with lots of onions, jalapeños and what seemed to be small ground pork/beef chunks.

One thing that really stands out is the portion size--the dumplings here are noticeably larger than most other dim sum spots in the area, which makes it feel like you're getting great value. They had nice flavor, but there just wasn't anything "special." 3.5* Then it was on to the crawfish, and my oh my. Superb, the flavor is delicious and unique. This more than made up for the noodles dish. The potato and corn was good too. Service - 5* Solid. When I first arrived the owner was quietly reading a newspaper and eating his own lunch. He paused to greet me and advised that I could sit anywhere. He provided water and adequate time to determine what I wanted to order. The food came out quickly and he checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok. As time went by, the crowd of folks showing up increased quite a bit and he still managed to check in on tables consistently. Pricing - 4* This is where it was odd. Always subjective but I found the noodles to be overpriced for not only the size but what I felt was a pretty simple dish. The crawfish on the other hand was priced very competitively and made up for the overpriced noodles. I provided pics of the menu for someone to make their own assessment but in general I thought many of the dishes were pricier than they probably should be. I know inflation is certainly killing many businesses and consumers but even these felt a bit off. Overall - 4.5* This is definitely going to be one of my go tos for crawfish when in the area. The flavor is fantastic, the pricing is good, the size of them were solid. There are a couple of other dishes I may try on the next visit. The restaurant is clean, the owner is very nice, and it's a nice low key space to just enjoy a good meal with friends or family.

One of the best Vietnamese places I've ever been hands down. I still think about it a year later…read more They had a very big variety of food on the menu, so you could have your fill of Vietnamese dishes. I believe the crawfish is seasonal, so go during crawfish season because this pho was delicious. The crawfish were so tender and the pho was so flavorful. The beef dish was also so good to eat and balanced. The fried beef balanced so well with the fresh salad and rice. I will say that when we went the parking lot was a little deserted at night. I would definitely lock your doors and take all your valuables. But that's all or Houston, so just stay safe!

We ordered six dishes for four people, but unfortunately nothing really stood out. The salt and pepper shrimp was my favorite dish of the night, though even that fell a bit short because it wasn't very crispy or particularly flavorful, and I wished it had more spice. The noodles, which were supposed to be soft, were actually quite hard and chewy. The fried rice lacked fragrance and depth of flavor. The oriental beef was overly tough, and the Kung Pao chicken didn't resemble the dish at other places as it came with corn and assorted vegetables but had very little flavor overall. While service and seating were fine, the food itself was underwhelming across the board. Given the experience, I wouldn't come back, but it might work for someone looking for a quick, no-wait option rather than standout Chinese food.

The servers are always friendly, and their menu is large and has so many different delicious dishes to choose from. They also have a lunch deal where you can get 4 dishes for the price of 3, which ends up being around $30. My family usually orders either 4 or 8 dishes depending on how many of us are going. Some of my favorite dishes include the Walnut Creamy Shrimps, Salt & Pepper Squid, Salt & Pepper Pork Ribs, Young Chou Fried Rice, Tomato Beef, Spicy Tofu with Minced Pork, and many many more.
