5 stars for the food, .001 star for the poor shop management. A bigger, light colored hair lady with a two way radio clipped to her apron came up in the middle of my transaction, and because I was waiting on the cashier to finish wrapping my candles the random manager began telling me to insert my card to get the transaction over with. The manager was trying to check someone else out that she was dealing with before I got there. Thought it was weird seeing multiple cash registers closed and the only one open, the manager is trying to rush. I told the manager that I was looking at the products placed by the counter for those who are about to purchase something, to get a last buy. She replied "Oh well we have to wait for you so we can check her out." And I said "whatever, I thought I'd like these car air fresheners but never mind." Before the employee was done wrapping my candles, the manager had logged into the other register and already took care of the waiting customer. This is a perfect example of lazy management, poor customer service skills, and an absolute business nightmare. This manager needs serious training or at the very least someone to tell her her actions are effecting business poorly. Her actions and attitude towards me as a customer made me feel as if the shop deserves a .001 star for actually getting the transaction taken care of. I just moved to the area and was very excited to be so close to a Cracker Barrel, but this store has now shown me the reason why this location is different than all other locations I've ever visited. I have always loved the rustic, country, cluttered feel or Cracker Barrel. The country music playing in the background makes me feel like i'm back at my grandmas. As a breakfast restaurant, I highly recommend Cracker Barrel. The affordable prices, and good portion sizes make it appealing and amazing for anyone looking for a fulfilling breakfast. I wasn't very impressed with this particular Cracker Barrel location. We stopped in on a Sunday morning while traveling from St. Augustine to Tampa. The restaurant was not very crowded, which was nice, and we were seated right away. And I can't complain about the service; not over the top exceptional, but certainly not bad service. The cashier and hostess were fine too. My complaint lies solely with the food quality. My fiancé ordered the smokehouse breakfast and his food was merely okay. Not bad, but not great. I ordered only the three pancakes with butter. Unlike my local Cracker Barrel, the pancakes came out with only one small bottle of syrup rather than two, and with only one small pat of butter for the three pancakes. A little disappointed, and not what I'm accustomed to, but it was okay. It was when I actually tasted the pancakes that I was really disappointed. Cracker Barrel is known to have great tasting pancakes, but these were kind of flat and very doughy in the middle. Not fluffy at all. I don't know if the problem lay in the way the batter itself was mixed, or in the temperature of the griddle, but they were just not tasty at all. I only ate a couple of bites. The manager, in her defense, did stop by to check on things shortly before we left, and I didn't complain, so she wasn't given an opportunity to potentially right a wrong. This was a stop on the way back to Orlando from St. Augustine. Clean, ample parking and great customer service. The food came out fairly quickly. There were three of us and we ordered the Cracker Barrel Sampler, Maple Burger and kids tenders. The sampler was a good portion of everything (meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, and country ham). The chain as a whole has great comfort food. This location is a bit harder to find than some so use your map. The staff always seems nice and I only ever get breakfast at cracker barrel so its hard to mess up. I have had where oatmeal was served cold but with a burnt flavor like it sat at the bottom of the bucket and was scraped off at noon. I'm surprised at the reviews of this CB. We stopped because it was easy to get the RV in and out and I was wanting a Reuben sandwich something fierce. We were quickly seated and Cindy, our server, was on top of things right from the start. I got my craved-for Reuben and sides and husband went with his usual breakfast. All the food was hot, delicious and we got it in a reasonable amount of time. The meat on the Reuben was just the right thickness, the right amount and no fat. You never know what you might get when you order one, but this was perfect. Dan, the manager, introduced himself as we were parking our RV and we had a pleasant little chat. Brian our waiter although funny at first with his dry sense of humor got old fast. Then we ordered and waited, and waited, and waited. We watched tables that sat and ordered after us get their meals, we ordered to go meals 25 minutes after we ordered our dinners for our children at home. Those came out before our dinners! Fantastic service here! Stopped by for breakfast while on my way back to Ohio from Orlando. The staff is so welcoming and polite here. They are all team players helping each other out. I go through my cups of coffee (especially this am) like it's water but my cup was never less than half full or half empty . I got the egg sandwich added cheddar cheese and got grits on the side. So good and just the right amount of food to satisfy me after my 10 cups of coffee. My mom got the mommas breakfast platter with French toast but got pancakes instead. She didn't really care but would of liked French toast instead. She ate it all, no worries. My dad got the special pumpkin spice breakfast platter. I got him to jump on the pumpkin spice bandwagon after these pancakes. I stole half of one from him. So fluffy and love the whipped cream on top. Great! This one however I ordered to go for a Sunday lunch and many things were forgotten. They did not put our eggs and toast, our biscuits (for our biscuits and gravy), and my extra hasbrowns. We arrived at this Cracker Barrel in Ormond Beach for Breakfast. Very unfortunate for us the General Manager was very condescending and arrogant. We made us wait almost an hour to be seated because we wanted to sit together. He made it seem as it was a punishment for not wanting to have our children sit in a different table and because we were Hispanic. I must say, the rest of the staff was very apologetic for his behavior, stating that they realized that it shouldn't of happened and that it wasn't necessary for us to have had this experience. We have been visiting this restaurant for several years. Unfortunately, the restaurant is declining severely. Service has become poor at best. I ordered the cheeseburger and French fries. The hamburger was delivered in 10-minutes, and the waitress informed me that the fries would "be out in a minute." The waitress spent five plus minutes talking to patrons at another table. Thirty-five minutes later the fries had still not made it to our table. The manager was weak with excuse after excuse. Going out to eat any meal should be an enjoyable experience for which you are willing to compensate those involved. Your expectations for a stress free meal does not exist at this Cracker Barrel. I've always been a fan of Cracker Barrel because of the old country feel, its gives it that sort of nostalgia that most restaurants don't have. Our family recently went to CB mainly for breakfast, but a few had lunch. One of my favorite things about CB is they are able to accommodate large parties. Elizabeth, our waitress, was extremely nice and friendly. Our drinks were never empty and she even brought our biscuits out prior to our entrees (win). Downside- my sister in law ordered meatloaf and it came out cold. When we inquired, we were informed that the meatloaf she received was actually left over from the night before.
