I and my family-6 of us went the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, upon arriving we were greeted by the host who told us they had a limited menu, choices weren't the greatest, I chose meatloaf, and generally love their meatloaf, wasn't even hot , got the smallest serving of mashed potatoes and gravy ever, my wife and daughter both had the grilled chicken tenders meal and both said the texture was like they had been sitting in their juices all day, We would probably never choose Cracker Barrel again for a family meal the night before Thanksgiving, too many restaurants with better menu choices!! Cracker Barrel is pretty darned awesome because they allow overnight parking for RVers in their lots. No obligation, but they're like you to consider eating a meal in the restaurant. I'm a fan! There were quite a few other RVs when I arrived at 8pm. The "RV and Bus" spaces were all occupied and others were scattered all about. I took a spot in the corner near the dumpster as that seemed the quietest away from the highway noise. I was out and on my way at 6am before they opened. I was not disturbed all night. I continue to visit Cracker Barrel even though I feel the quality here has declined over the years and I'm sure thats an effort to reduce cost and maintain their profit margins without passing all the increased cost on to their customers. I personally would have rather seen the menu cost go up instead of the quality going down. I have always felt this brand is one of the more wasteful business models outside the buffet industry, to be direct they served to much food and they throw out percentages as high as 30% of what they serve (I've been given this number by several people who I know that has worked for Cracker Barrel they all say that number is probably a conservative number). This location was mostly empty when we arrived, that in itself means something, blame it on Covid-19, the economy or simply that the last year of limited seating, social distancing or simply the fact that we have been retrained and more of us are eating at home more often than not. This restaurant is laid out like the rest of their cookie cutter design, this is one company that has not reinvented themselves in the least they look the same, act the same and the finish product continues to decline. Our server today was Derrick and he was a pleasant person that was attentive enough but lacked enthusiasm and I'm sure he is struggling if he's depending on tips to make a living here. I prefer having breakfast here but the hour of the day usually dictates my choices - today it was lunch and I wanted to try the fried pork chops until I found out there were boneless I was highly disappointed being I don't remember my country grandmother or even my mother frying boneless anything and with the persona this brand puts on they shouldn't either. I decided on fried chicken it's bone-in and came out in less than 10 minutes - it was luke warm and dry like something that sat under a heat lamp - the mashed potatoes and gravy was pasty and the green beans and corn muffins were cold the rest of the items were served about the same. I never saw a manager and Derrick stayed with it although he didn't seem very motivated as he pitifully dropped off the check and reassured us this wasn't an effort to turn a table. Today Saturday October 25th around 1:45 my hubby and I went to the Ormond Bch, FL Cracker Barrel. It wasn't busy and we got seated immediately. Unfortunately, our experience with the server named Francis was very disappointing, she was rude from the start, my son was trying to order and apparently he was taking longer than she wanted because she looks at me and says "Do you at least know what you want?" and rolled her eyes, my son is only 8 you can be a little bit more patient! This CB isn't the easiest to find. Signage to the restaurant needs improvement. Perhaps that's why there were so few patrons on a Saturday morning. I haven't been to a Cracker Barrel in SO long, so I was super excited to come here for breakfast on a Sunday morning with my family! We were a party of 8, so there was a little wait time, but we were more than happy to walk around the store. There's nothing better than a good ole country breakfast of eggs, ham, pancakes, and their homemade syrup! I was also pumped to try out their new menu item: MIMOSA! The breakfast did not disappoint, and everything was cooked perfectly. Everyone got different items, from yogurt and granola to the country friend chicken (lunch item). They had all day breakfast items, as well as the option of the normal lunch and breakfast menu. You always have to start off with some of their fresh biscuits, so of course we ordered some for the table. Our waitress was pleasant, but she did disappear at some points, and the manager had to step in. All in all nothing major, and we have a wonderful time. The restaurant is adhering to all COVID precautions with masks, gloves, social distancing, etc. I would recommend coming out to enjoy a nice breakfast, if possible! read more

When did you guys start opening at 7 AM. Every birthday for years we would come there before school and my children and I get together on the anniversary of my husband's passing and have breakfast. We came this morning 6 AM like always and it says you don't open till 7 AM. I don't think we came as early last year but every other year we've always come 6 AM. Cracker Barrel means a lot to us because it's some thing we used to do it my husband all the time food is always good. Service is always great at the Ormond Beach one. The long waited (2 hour wait time) thanksgiving meal was absolutely disgusting and nothing like advertised in appearance, actual items nor taste. The gravy was cold and runny. The sweet potato had no pecan and again somehow runny. The stuffing was cold and lacked any substance or taste. Beans were can tasty. And no cranberry at all! Not a great experience at all which is unusual. Wasn't busy but it took us 25 minutes to be waited on; she kept putting her finger up at us telling us to wait. Drinks didn't appear for another 10 minutes or so, and despite the fact that she reminded us multiple times she needed to bring the biscuits/cornbread, it came 5 minutes before we were done eating (biscuits came, cornbread never showed.) Then we waited again to check out because she entered our ticket wrong. On top of all of that, almost every person on the wait staff wore their mask on their chin. 5 stars for the food, .001 star for the poor shop management. A bigger, light colored hair lady with a two way radio clipped to her apron came up in the middle of my transaction, and because I was waiting on the cashier to finish wrapping my candles the random manager began telling me to insert my card to get the transaction over with. The manager was trying to check someone else out that she was dealing with before I got there. Thought it was weird seeing multiple cash registers closed and the only one open, the manager is trying to rush. I told the manager that I was looking at the products placed by the counter for those who are about to purchase something, to get a last buy. She replied "Oh well we have to wait for you so we can check her out." And I said "whatever, I thought I'd like these car air fresheners but never mind." Before the employee was done wrapping my candles, the manager had logged into the other register and already took care of the waiting customer. This is a perfect example of lazy management, poor customer service skills, and an absolute business nightmare. This manager needs serious training or at the very least someone to tell her her actions are effecting business poorly. Her actions and attitude towards me as a customer made me feel as if the shop deserves a .001 star for actually getting the transaction taken care of. I just moved to the area and was very excited to be so close to a Cracker Barrel, but this store has now shown me the reason why this location is different than all other locations I've ever visited.
