Updating with our two more recent visits. I only deducted a star because the last time we went there we were seated in the back/banquet room with a large party who were VERY LOUD. We could not converse at the table. It was also too cold, but our waiter got just the vent over our table turned off and we were much more comfortable after that. However, the food and service in our last 2 visits were still outstanding and well worth the price. I'm adding photos. I feel I must mention again the outstanding quality of the meats in this place. I like my filet mignon cooked with a sear on the outside and red in the middle. Our waiter said that's Pittsburgh style. It was so perfect! And it's hard to make a steak the way I like. read more

From start to finish, our dinner at Alexander's was incredible. We began with the Roasted Bone Marrow, which was rich, buttery, and packed with flavor, it's definitely a must-try for anyone who loves bold appetizers. We also had the Special Salad, a stunning Steak Tartare with arugula, shaved cheese, and the perfect touch of seasoning. It was fresh, tender, and absolutely delicious. The Wedge Salad followed which is crisp, creamy, and perfectly balanced with blue cheese and balsamic glaze. For entrées, my husband and I shared the 20oz Prime Dry-Aged Bone-In Delmonico Ribeye, cooked to perfection, it's beautifully seared, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Our son also had the ribeye with a side of asparagus, and he enjoyed every bite (clean plate!). Our daughter ordered the lamb chops which was just as impressive, it's flavorful, tender, and beautifully plated. We shared sides of mushrooms and onions plus Brussels sprouts, both excellent complements to the main dishes. Everything tasted thoughtfully prepared and perfectly seasoned. A huge shoutout to our server Crystal, who was simply amazing, attentive, friendly, and made us feel so well taken care of. Her timing and service elevated the whole experience. I recently attended a Holiday Celebration here and it couldn't have gone any better, the party was held upstairs in a private dining room, and staffed appropriately with friendly , attentive and professional employees. The downstairs bar created a host of delicious crafted cocktails and a selection of premium wines. Although there was a fixed menu there were options for everyone along with a nice varieties of Hors d'oeuvres, the entrées were made to order and featured a beautiful prime filet mignon, grilled salmon and chicken marsala with an abundance of sides and desserts. This restaurant was the perfect venue for this event and hopefully we'll enjoy more of their hospitality in the future. A few of us decided to have a few cocktails at the bar downstairs after the party ended and again the bar staff executed our drinks (dirty martinis) perfectly. We were treated here for our friends birthday, and you had to roll our large group (of I think18) out of there, we were sooo full. One got salmon, but the rest of us all got the rib eyes, and they were totally enormous, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and very tender. There was too much food to review...appetizers and salads and Brussels and spinach and potatoes and desserts, and of course some pretty amazing drinks. We were in a private room upstairs, and waiter kept us well fed and entertained. I can't think of a single negative thing to say, except that we all could've done with half of the steak we got. This little charm recently re- opened. It's an older building that has been remodeled completely, but kept its old world charm. You can enjoy a beautiful meal with great service in their main dining rooms, which are each decorated a little bit different with the owners own artwork displayed. However, you can also enjoy the bar area, which serves the same menu plus additional bar items that you can only order in that area. Our server was Crystal and I have to say she was so sweet and attentive. The owner also was continuously walking around asking if everything was to our liking. My son and I accompanied my husband on a work trip to Daytona, and on our last night we wanted a nice dinner, so we visited Alexander's. We started with the calamari appetizer- it came on a bed of slightly spicy sauce and was fried to golden perfection! I ordered the 10 oz filet, while my husband and son both chose the lamb chops. The absolute star of the night, though, was the King Crab Mac & Cheese-I can still taste it! My filet was tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare, just how I like it. The lamb chops, however, came out a bit more cooked than medium rare little disappointing for my husband. We had dirty martini with blue cheese olives and gin and hibiscus syrup cocktail. Now, here's where the night got memorable--I grabbed the receipts at the end since my husband expenses his meals. As we were about to drive off, our server Matt ran up to our car and showed me the empty checkbook. I couldn't believe it--I had accidentally taken all the receipts, including the merchant copies! I was so embarrassed, but thankful that he was kind and understanding. Matt, if you ever see this, I'm so sorry! You were wonderful, and the food was great. Absolutely fantastic! By far the best meal we've had since we moved from the Gulf Coast to Palm Coast 2 1/2 years ago. It was well worth the trip. We went to Alexander's Prime Steak House to celebrate our 60th anniversary. Our server, Sierra, was great and had some suggestions as it was our first time there. The french onion soup was some of the best I've ever had, the filet mignon was perfectly cooked as was my wife's lamb shops. Dessert was on the house, delicious as well. The restaurant is decorated very nicely and the bar area was active that night. The owner, Joe, came over and spoke with us and we said we will be definitely coming back to enjoy another meal soon. He has plans for reviving another restaurant that has been closed for years and from what we experienced at Alexander's, it will be a hit also. read more

Waiter was quite into himself. Forgot to bring various items even after being asked. Forgot a few drinks - Coke, a Beach Hippie... Forgot to bring us bread after asking. Forgot another patrons dessert which he never received. My seat was completely separated from the frame. I almost fell off one time - LOL. Another patron found out he had sat on a nail all night. Food was good but service was really poor. Reservations at 6:30. Arrived at 6:00 and sat at the bar where we met family just two more people. Advised them by family that it took 30 mins to get a drink So we get seated for dinner on time. 30 minutes to get our server. Ordered drinks another 30 minutes as they came one here one 10 mins later. Ordered dinner took an hour and came out as ordered but we were starving by then. She asked for ice for her drink by the time the ice arrived her drink was gone. We will try again but not for a couple months when wait staff get their act together read more

The atmosphere and old time crooner who sang timeless classics on a Saturday night was wonderful. The crowd scews older and the ambiance is lovely. The dinner started well enough with great cocktails, delish bread, and fabulous appetizers - French onion soup and calamari. My partner's steak and sides were good. But my steak medallions tasted like they dumped a bottle of wine in them. They were totally over salted and swimming in red wine. I ate a few bites and then couldn't do anymore. I allowed the server to box it and told her not to include the sauce because it had too much wine in it. Unfortunately, she didn't say a word, offer to bring me something else, or comp the entry. My husband and I made reservations for our 6 yr wedding anniversary. We were very excited as we dont go out much at all with two kids and life so 7:30/ Friday night, the night begins. Quickly seated as soon as we arrived, corner table, great waiter, great ambiance. Bread was good, shrimp cocktail was good. Then...it all went south...the bacon bites were 100% pure chunks of just fat. There was no meat just chewing on a big cube of pure fat....we got a ribeye which was far too thick and thus far too rare and the first bite I took was just tough and with gristle. It also lacked any seasoning. It was just a tough unseasoned steak and very disappointing. The crab mac and cheese was totally lacking any flavor and didnt have any crab from what we could tell so again very disappointed. Then the burger...it just tasted like nothing but onion jam but with no bacon and no other flavor and it was mushy. Again so disappointing. After spending that type of money and only took about 5 bites of food in total. Would not be back to Alexanders based on this experience. Truly disappointing experience and anniversary dinner. read more

Saw this was a new local restaurant and decided to try it. Tables were all taken but I sat at the bar. The bartender on duty was super helpful and friendly. She was a very hard worker speeding around making all the drinks for the restaurant. Joe the owner was friendly as well and didn't hesitate to help out his staff. I ordered the Italian Job cocktail which was very good and their take on a manhattan. I got the Alexander burger with fries and they were great and cooked to perfection (medium rare) very juicy and flavor was heavy on the cheese and meat. I decided to try the limoncello which came in a shooter glass which I feel was overpriced, $10 for a shooter of limoncello that is $20 a bottle at total wine is a bit wild. I also got the Profiteroles which was caramel gelato with chocolate sauce and, not listed, donut holes. The combination was just fantastic. Overall I was very satisfied and would recommend to others and will be back to try other dishes. read more

So excited to have an upscale steakhouse right here in downtown Ormond! My husband and I came here on a Saturday for a rare no-baby date night. We had a 6:30 reservation and arrived 15 minutes early. It was packed! Every seat at the bar was taken and all tables occupied. We were really happy to see a new restaurant with such great turn out. We waited the full 15 minutes for our table (husband got a drink at the bar and they brought us bread) but were seated for our table right on time. Our waiter, Eric, was friendly, knowledgable and attentive all night. We started with a couple of drinks and then placed our entire order right away (they do this so that they can properly course everything out). We had the Cesar salad and tuna tartar to start. Both very fresh and flavorful. The Cesar dressing was tangy and the croutons were crisp. My husband loved the tartar but wished it came with more than one crisp. For our main, we shared the 20 ounce Delmonico steak. It was everything we wanted it to be. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare, excellent sear and just the right amount of seasoning. We split an order of fries and an order of the crab Mac & cheese - both super yummy though the fries could have been a little crispier. For dessert, we shared a chocolate crunch cake - it was so good! All in, we greatly enjoyed our evening and we'll definitely be back. read more

If you've read any of the other reviews, you will notice that this location is VERY hit-or-miss. People are either raving about it or panning it. I had some serious misgivings when I noticed that they had no website. So, no place to see suggested attire, menu, or even telephone number. And I couldn't make a reservation with OpenTable. Thus, no reminder text. Not good. I called to reconfirm the reservation and make certain it had been noted that it was my husband's birthday. I was assured they had the reservation but didn't feel as though our special occasion was their special occasion. We pulled into the parking lot and the first thing we noticed were the political yard signs. Big turn off. Also, this was supposed to be an upscale establishment......with no valet parking? Shoot. Even Hull's offers valet parking. Stepping into the bar it took a moment to locate the hostess stand. And another moment to locate the hostess. We were seated quickly (again, with no mention of my husband's birthday). We were taken to a very small hallway with 3 tables. We settled in and quickly noticed that every waiter would be traversing the 2-foot wide pathway next to our table. It was chaotic the entire night. I seriously doubt that the 3 tables added in this space (as a clear after-thought) tipped the scale of profitability for this restaurant. Our waiter (Josh) was nice enough but seemed to be trying too hard to be our friend. I would not say he was attentive but it appeared that he was working tables in 3 different areas of the restaurant. Difficult to get your waiter's attention if you can't see him. We took his recommendation of the dry-aged rib eye and couldn't have been more disappointed. While it was cooked to our liking, it had absolutely no flavor. (James D. remarked that it had NY prices with Longhorn quality. We've had fabulous steak at Longhorn and expected our experience at Alexandars to at least rival those.) Our waiter did not think to offer any of the optional sauces. If he had stopped by shortly after our meals arrived, we might have been able to remedy the experience with a sauce. A drink refill was also not offered. And we had to flag him down for additional salad dressing. We ordered carrot cake for dessert. This $10 dessert was slightly larger than a petit four (1" X 2" X 1"). Not the best carrot cake we've ever had. We wondered how many restaurants we had gone to on our birthdays and been offered complimentary desserts. Again, did that $10 tip the scale? The final insult was the 4% added to the tab for the privilege of using a credit card. I don't think this "place to be seen" deserves any of the raves I've read. And we won't be hurrying back any time soon. Compared to Ruth's Chris, Flemings, Morton's and Michael's, this place has a long way to go. read more

We were very excited to be going with our friends to celebrate their 45th anniversary at Alexanders on Saturday evening We had reservations for 7:00 and arrived on time and were quickly seated. The restaurant was full and very noisy but lively so I had no complaint with the noise. We told the server that it was our friend's 45th anniversary and he congratulated them on such an exciting event. My friend brought a special bottle of wine to enjoy with our dinner. From that point on it was just awful. We waited forever to order appetizers and to get the bottle of wine opened. We told the server to let the wine breathe before pouring any. He ignored that and poured wine for two of us anyway. We ordered two special cocktails and both we terrible. One was remade and the other we just didn't drink. It took almost an hour (seriously an hour) before the appetizers arrived. The explanation was that they had an 80th birthday party for 30 people upstairs and it had backed up the kitchen so please understand. If they had a party for 30 people they should have planned for that, not just let all of the other guests just wait, and wait and wait. Finally the owner, Joe I guess, came by and said "sorry for the delay". After an hour and twenty-five minutes the food arrived. I will honestly say that at that point I was done and if it had not been our friend's anniversary we would have left. The saving grace was that the steak that I ordered arrived and it was perfection. It was delicious, cooked and prepared perfectly. The other main courses were wonderful also. The sides were okay. At this point we had been there almost two hours, waiting over an hour and half to get food. I expected that at the least, knowing that this was an anniversary dinner and so far it had been less than perfect, the owner would come by and offer dessert to say congratulations and thank us for waiting and staying. I guess my expectations were too high. Instead the server never acknowledged that this was a less than great experience and never offered anything. The owner sat at the bar on the phone.
