Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens

Beautiful museum! My…read morelatest discovery. Impressed with the garden, flowers, nature, art, and waterfalls. It was very refreshing to be there. I felt like I was stepping into a different world away from Ormond Beach. A must see!

I went to this museum and garden in a Saturday afternoon. I had first had trouble finding the…read moreparking area, but eventually found it after seeing the sign directing to the free parking lot. I first thought I was in the wrong area as I couldn't find the place to pay my admission, but I found out it was at the museum building. I was also informed by the attendant that the garden admission was free and I only had to pay if I wanted to see the museum. Since I wanted to support a non profit business, I paid the 8 dollars. The attendant was very nice to inform me the art area, and the artists who made them. It was a very small museum with just a few rooms and exhibits. The Renaissance exhibit was nice, but very small in just one room. The bigger area showed artwork from a local artists. There were also some pictures in the staircase, but the third floor was reserved for parties and events at the rooftop. The gardens were nice, but also pretty small. I loved the birds, squirrel, and the turtles enjoying the gardens. Many guests were enjoying seeing the turtles sunbathing. Unfortunately, the waterfall and fountain wasn't turned on in some places, and I only saw it working in the main entrance and turtle area. There was a cute kitty in the garden too, but it avoided me. I was in and out within an hour, so it was just a short visit. I must sawly the 8 dollars just to see the museum was a bit high, so I would suggest to charge the whole 8 dollars for the museum and gardens (make the gardens charged admission as well). I am glad parking was free and bathrooms were clean. The only air conditioned area was the museum. While the area was pretty small, and only took an hour to see everything, it was still worth the trip. You could spend more time just enjoying the turtles sunbathing. I would visit again, but most likely for an event next time instead of just seeing the area. Overall: B+
