Would definitely go again! We had the conch fritters and clam chowder to start and they hit the spot. I had the shrimp tacos and was really good wish they were more spicy but still amazing. we've been here before when they first opened and it was so good, but everything tonight was just off. Service, food quality and ambience. We seemed to be an inconvenience to the server. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, supposedly stuffed with crab but there was no crab to be found. Just mushy and gooey. Fish and chips were over cooked, fish dry. A/C seemed to be on the fritz. I now have another favorite restaurant in St. Augustine. The location is great, right in the heart of all the beach activity. A rare view of the ocean from the upstairs deck . Beautiful. Our waitress was quick and friendly plus the manager stopped at our table to make sure we were happy ( we were). I highly recommend the drink Lime In The Coconut. My first time at Crabby's Beachside and heard some good things about it. I've never eaten a tuna bowl so when I saw that on the menu I had to try it. I ordered To-Go and waited about 20 minutes at the bar. I didn't see a separate seating area for To-Go orders so I sat at the bar. The Tuna Bowl is a restaurant specialty and was made with Ahi Tuna, coconut rice, avocado salsa, shredded carrots, wonton strips on the side, seaweed salad, cilantro cream and soygave sauce. It was a large portion in a To-Go plastic box and lid. I didn't know tuna could taste so good! Fresh, hearty but light, great accompaniments and sauces, this is my new favorite meal! After a previous good experience in Crabby's, we were disappointed because the clams were tiny, rubber, pencil erasers, and the oysters were gritty and shriveled up, not too much bigger than my thumbnail.. There only 11 on my plate, the server brought the 12th one and it was a joke, not much bigger than my little finger nail. The servers were quite busy, but that was no excuse for their surly attitude. It's good and has two great bars and location by the pier. Service was fantastic. I only gave 4 stars because there are just so many other locally owned, non chains, on St Augustine Beach that are better or the same and less expensive. We had the crab and spinach dip (the only part of the meal that disappointed) a grouper fried fish sandwich, and a dozen raw oysters. All were good, but not $60 before tax and tip good with 2 waters and no booze. We live on the island so we will try it again. read more
