My sister and I wanted to get our nails done today and the place we wanted to go to was closed when we got there, so I looked up nearby places and found Covington Nails. It was close and they were open, so we went in. I needed a mani-pedi and she was getting a full set. The woman who did my manicure said her name was Mina and Jenny did my toes. Neither of them said a word to me until They were almost done and I asked for their names. Then they made a little small talk for the last few minutes and it seemed forced. It came time to pay for what was a quick and messy nail job and it was $35! For a plain and simple mani pedi. No flowers or extras, and there is definitely more nail polish on the skin AROUND my nails than there should be for that price. Another woman came by trying to help me get out since I guess they were closing. She lifted up the arm rest on my chair and DROPPED MY PHONE!!!!!!! My droid was on the floor and the back pieces came out and everything!! Needless to say, I'm pissed! I asked her what her name is and she said it was Tracy. She had me turn it on and had my sister call me to see if it worked and yeah, it TURNED ON, and our 5 second phone call went through, but that doesn't mean there was no damage!! She told me if it doesn't work in the next few days to give them a call and that they would "take care of it", whatever that means. I then asked her to acknowledge in writing that she dropped my phone. No way am I going to call with an issue and have them say they don't know what I'm talking about. So then it turned into a huge issue and the owner came up saying she was there she saw what happened and to just ask for her. She didn't want anything to be in writing, saying things like "I'm a business owner, I have honor, you can trust me", which frankly made me trust her even less. I finally got them to agree, probably just because they all wanted to get out of there, and I wrote down a statement and had both Tracy and the owner sign it. On our way out the door, they still had the nerve to say "see you next time". There had better not be any internal damage to my phone, but if there is, they will be paying. read more

My friend has been going here for years and I always forget about it. After popping by my normal place that had 2 girls working and a wait I decided to drive out to Covington to try this place. I called on the way to let them know I would be there in 5-10 mins (in hopes that when I got there I could get straight to a chair). When I arrived at the salon the man I spoke to was waiting for my daughter and I and said "you called right?" then showed us to the pedicure area. I like that they use plastic liners in the foot bath. It had been awhile since my last pedi and being summer and always in sandles and flip-flops my heels were beat up. The lady did a great job getting my feet soft and smooth again. The massage on my legs was a little rough, I feel like my muscles are sensitive or something but I said "that hurts" and she lightened up. I was very happy we the service and we will be going again! read more

This place is hit and miss. I read several of the reviews and most of them are dead-on, unfortunately. Most of the techs "bed side manner" is atrocious. They are horrible about being tipped; if they were polite and not so greedy I assume everybody would tip them happily. But they almost panic if you don't produce it right away - something weird is going on there. . . I don't know if they are solely surviving on tips (which would be a crime) or if their supervisor is threatening them to push hard for them. To be honest - they way they handle it - you almost don't want to tip them. I've never seen nail techs so anxious about whether nor not they are going to be tipped or not. Since they don't speak English very well, you can barely understand when they ask you questions, and they have everything and everybody packed in there like sardines. Professionalism is not their strong point by any means. read more

I have tried quite a few nail salons, and this one is by far my favorite. The ladies all speak to me while they are doing my nails. I can have real conversations with them - in English. They do a fantastic job. I love working with Kim, she remembers so much. Every time I go in, we pick up with our conversation right where we left off. She remembers things that I told her from 2 years ago! It is always clean, and they use the disposable liners for the pedicure chairs. I would highly recommend Covington Nail. read more

I went to this salon today for a pedicure because my normal salon was closed. The gal that did my nails tried talking to me, but I could not understand a word. She hit a button on the chair and my whole body started shaking. Then she got out her tools. She dug and dug on my poor toes. Even the way she grabbed them with her fingers hurt. She dug out a part of my toenail and placed it on my knee so I could see. The massage was awkward. She was looking at me the entire time. She dug her fingers into my leg so hard it was painful. I won't go back. read more

Manicurist was very nice, But salon was not willing to do actually good designs - lots of excuses why they could not do this or could not do that. They use very very cheep acrylic powder creating nails that break easily; if you are looking for quality work, go somewhere else. read more

Love Jimmy and the rest of the team. They are typically busy so I would recommend an appointment.

By far the worst pedicure and customer service I have ever received. To start, when I first got here I told them I had limited time and was wondering if they could get me in and out in an hour. They insisted they could, so I stayed. Now I understand if you don't have time or are not capable of getting me in and out in that amount of time but in that case just tell me and I gladly will go elsewhere. Not only did they not even begin to do my nails until 20 minutes later, the lady doing my nails kept leaving in the middle and walking around doing other "chores". She was so slow because she was more focused on socializing with other people than doing my nails. It got to the point where I had to remind all of them I had to leave soon and wouldn't be able to get a manicure as well because they took too long. The pedicure I got was trash. She barely even touched my feet with the tools and was doing a half ass job on every part of the pedicure. She was also extremely rough and was constantly tugging on my feet. I had to skip the massage part of the pedicure (even though I doubt I missed out on much) because I had no time and still had to pay the full price for the service. Will not be returning ever again. read more

I visited here for a pedi. as I was too lazy to drive to Kent. I wish I had made the effort. Very poor communications skills, I was sat at a chair straight away, then waited 20 mins. for someone to pay any attention to me. I was not given any options and only learned there were options by watching what other customers were having done. Very basic pedi, she kept massaging the end of one toe repeatedly and virtually no massage on rest of my feet. The staff were constantly stopping and having conversations with each other in their own language. Acceptable polish job. Not the worst pedi, I have ever had but I would not rush back. They do have excellent massage chairs. the best part of my experience. read more

Spend your money elsewhere Took my daughter here for birthday left us sitting for hrs half done took 4 hrs to be exact. Spent 138$ my daughters nails had fill material over cuticle and were really Mis shaped no matter how many times we tried to explain they did not fix rather they acting irritated. I did full set with shellac the lady had to redo 3x putting my hands in the polish setter for a total of 6x I think this may be why 3days later not 1 but all my nails were lifting. I returned and told the owner he sent me to a lady to fix she clipped the lifting nails all the way to tip applied glue and I was thinking she would put the fill material now but nope she put clear polish and said done. I was mortified how could she think this was even acceptable? This looked like I had let my nails grow out without a fill for months plus it was lumpy. I said um no this is not ok she insisted and said you come back in week to get fill. I replied this is going to break off it's weak I tried showing the owner he couldn't be bothered. Needless to say they broke off damaging the beds of my nails I showed this to owner he blamed it on my nails said they are unhealthy look. I replied they are now! They were just fine until you all decided to just clip glue so it ripped my nail beds. I hadn't had anything but mani's for at least 6 months prior I only decided to do full set because I was going to Vegas with friends. These people are rediculous. Also our pedi polish chipped off within a couple of days as well because they didn't clean the lotion off the toe nails before polishing which I asked them to do and they did not!! read more

Last month I went into Covington Nails, I had by far the worst experience ever!!!! While I was having manicure and pedicure, the area was very dark. I was scared because I didn't even know if the lady that was doing my manicure/pedicure can see what she is doing. So I felt tensed and intimidated the whole time!!!! They seriously need to like turn on their lights or something because that was just a terrible experience!!!! They need to do something about the lights because when I get my nails done I would like to feel relaxed and not scared that the workers might cut me. They could get in big trouble for doing this. I don't know if they are being cheap and just trying to save electricity or something. But the customers come first. I am angry!! The next time I come back I expect that they do something about it or I might have to report this. read more

I was in the area and didn't have time to get to my nail salon and thought I would pop in and check out this place... The nail salon was very cluttered, but clean. Unlike the place I generally go this place rushed and hurried you in n out. My nails were ok not the best. Also compared to what I generally pay for the same thing they were highly priced. This will be my one and only time here. read more

The other day I was getting my nails done here. This experience is supposed to be relaxing, but one nail tech was very a bunch of bracelets and it was making a lot of noises and made my head hurt. I just want to relax while getting my nails done. Please have her remove those bracelets! I am not the only one that thinks this. I have had friends that told me about this. Other than that everyone is nice here. I dont hate it here. I just cannot stand those damn bracelets!! read more

This place sucks. I went here yesterday. I walked in and it's about the same size as a typical strip mall nail shop, but PACKED. I think there were about 15 ladies working there. Every seat was occupied, and most of the ladies were working. I asked for a fill and a pedicure (both shellac). The man said sure, and they sat me in a pedicure chair. That was at 4:20... I didn't leave for nearly hours. I asked if they were sure they had time, and they assured me it would be quick They left me in the chair forever... And didn't listen to what I said. I told them the polish on my toes was shellac, so they would have to take it off differently, but they just ignored me until they tried. And they asked me if it was shellac; I said yes, and I repeated that if already said that twice. When she asked if I wanted shellac on my toes again, they started talking in Vietnamese... She said nothing to me, so I asked if they do shellac on toes. She said 'too hard', and I said that I would go elsewhere... I get it all the time at my normal place, but we'd recently moved and this was close. They treated me like crap--and when I only left a $5 tip (which was generous, considering it was a bad experience), she actually said "$5? For both?" YES!! You can't pay attention to your customer and you charged me $60? Never. And my nails look like crap--the paint was sloppy. I just wanted out of there so badly. read more

We love this place for our pedicures! We usually go in as a group of 4-8. We DO make appointments first . They can always accommodate us, I want to say they have either 8 or 10 pedicure chairs. It is kind of cramped getting to the chairs but who cares once you are in them. I love that they use the liners for the soak tub so it is new for each person. We are a fun group & the girls that work there always join in with us talking, and joking. We do the $38.00 Thai Ginger Pedicure. HEAVEN! It is never less than an hour and usually last 1 1/2 hours. It includes sliced up lemons, limes & leaves in the water, sea salt scrub, peppermint foot mask, paraffin, hot stone & regular massage. We have tried to find other places in more middle ground for all of us. In the end none of us mind traveling. (most the girls come from Renton & a couple of us in Auburn- one from Shoreline, it's that good....well and the company) read more

I have been going here for quite awhile. I am always a good tipper having come from a tipping industry. I thought it rather crass when they posted a sign to tip in cash but ignored it as I always tip in cash even when using my credit card. Today, when I had to prompt to be given my bill-handed over my CC, another technician across the room yelled to me "You tip her how much?". I responded "I will take care of it". She pursued 3 more times on the tipping issue before I had to get even firmer (ready to get really angry) as the full salon was made aware of the situation. This to me was NOT professional, nor called for. I firmly told the tech with my CC to run it for the price of pedi and I would handle it. Needless to say, my usual $5 tip went to $3, and I'm seriously considering not returning. Also, there was much anger and back/forth between the techs in front of the full salon of clients as Jimmy was not there. Again, yet another profesionalism issue. There are many qualified salons in the area and I believe I will be doing some 'research'. read more
