I balked a bit when given the initial price for a plexiglass top for my vanity. However, not only was the turnaround time a few days (rather than the two weeks I was initially quoted) the piece was absolutely perfect. Edges smoothed as I had asked for, carefully wrapped, and they offered me the remainder of the cut piece. I declined, since I couldn't think of a use for it and I knew they would be able to use it. The women I spoke to several times, Sydney, was very kind, pleasant, and knowledgeable. The size is perfection and I am happy I went with the 1/4" thickness as was recommended. Had the need of a structural support for the headliner in my 1965 AMC Rambler American station wagon so I thought of something in the lightweight plastics area. I had worked with Gator Foam board in my earlier architectural model making career and knew it well. However, my trip to Regal Plastics in Austin and discussion with Gabby Porco led me to purchasing a 4 x 8 sheet of Coroplast - a 10mm fluted polypropylene product. It is a lightweight, inexpensive & stiff linear cell product used mainly for signage. I think it will work well for my application. Awesome customer service and really pulled through for us in a pinch! Our project ended up looking beautiful and extra polished due to this signage. I worked closely with Derek (even though he was feeling under the weather, he made sure my order was being made in time! Talk about customer service) in getting 2 large P95 pieces cut and made to our specs for an event and it was a breeze. In the end, they ended up even delivering to our vinyl vendor downtown during rush hours, and that really helped me out time-wise! Worst customer service ever - both over the phone and at the counter. I was looking to spend thousands on some bulk Acrylic glass for a large art project. I walked in and the employees nearly had an argument about who was supposed to help me, as nobody wanted to stop what they were doing and attend to a new customer. The lady who "helped" me was clearly bored of her job and acted put out that she had to speak with me at all. I asked several questions and requested to look at some samples. She pointed at the wall where some samples were hanging and said "everything we sell is over there". I asked about another material that I saw on their website which was not on the sample wall - a big sigh as she went into a hidden cabinet behind the counter and shuffled around for a while before presenting a sample of the material (so apparently it's not all on the sample wall). I asked about another material that I saw listed on their website which was also not on the sample wall - she sighed and looked annoyed and informed me that it was special order and they had no samples for that material. I couldn't be sure if she was telling the truth or just didn't feel like digging through the hidden sample cabinet again. I basically said thanks and couldn't get out of there fast enough. I felt extremely unwelcome there in spite of being ready to spend a lot of money. read more

Ya know - the the signs you see everywhere during election season? Regal's got you covered. They've got stacks of pre-cut 20x24 white or yellow signs for a dollar or two per sign. You can take them to be printed at most sign and banner print shops. They also have Polygal and other great materials for home projects. Service here has always been excellent - especially being patient with me as I try to explain some crazy half-baked art project that I'm trying to make. read more

I called Regal Plastic to order some stock sheets of coroplast to make a guinea pig cage. They knew exactly what I was talking about and even cut the sheets to a specific size for free. There is a $25 minimum order here but the saleswoman worked it out and sold me two 90" x 48" sheets for $12.50 a piece. Unfortunately for the 9-5ers, Regal is only open Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. But they were really accommodating about having my order ready at 8:00am sharp. Pick-up and payment was quick and they helped me carry the sheets out to my car. Really great experience overall, not a single thing to complain about. I will consider them for future cage modifications and art projects too. read more

Went in to get some plastic to make a disc wheel cover for my time trial bike. I told them what I thought I was looking for and they guided me through all the options, the pros and cons of each option, and found some scraps so I could experiment before making the final purchase. Prices for what I needed, very thin ABS plastic, were way lower than I expected. I recently added a cover for my pergola. My installer purchased the sheets at regal. Working with Ian. Installer was great. I then saw they were offering 20 percent off materials and special financing on Presidents' Day. Hoping they would make an adjustment since I would have waited if I had known since I was in a 30 day guarantee window for price. They did not make an adjustment said it was a one day offer which the ad did not say. Would suggest using Home Depot or Lowe's or other vendor that will honor 30 day price guarantee. read more

Just one word. Plastics. Very good at what they do. Jesse on the phone was quite helpful in my search for one small piece of acrylic sheet, cut to a precise size. He pointed out that while they could do it easily, their minimum fee for such work was $25, and for that I could get two pieces cut to size. So I measured our outdoor menu board which had faded in the sun quite a bit. He offered a UV-coated sheet, at the same minimum price for the job which would be more resistant to sunlight and keep the menu underneath bright and colorful. A day or so later I got a call, and picked up two perfectly-cut sheets of acrylic, carefully wrapped and covered with protective film from Jesse in person, who was just as pleasant. Good service, good price, timely order completion, and a new addition to my YelpList of "Special Specialty Stores," places which may only do one or two things, but they do them damn well. read more

DON'T GO HERE!!! I was just in there and rec'd the WORST customer service I've encountered. I was trying to get a piece of plastic fixed that they did with jagged edges. The elderly lady who finally waited on me wanted to argue with me and almost accuse me of stealing because I didn't get charged for bent plastic. (She couldn't even look up my receipt she was so inept) I then asked for someone else to talk to. She said they didn't charge me for some services and now I want it fixed on something I got for free. NOT MY FAULT I supposedly wasn't charged the correct amount in the first place. Then, the lady to the right had to pipe in and say rude comments too. It's like they like this drama! The Manager came and and he had bad customer service skills like his workers. He asked me why I didn't get charged for the bent plastic I rec'd. I told him I don't know. What he should have known is I DON'T work there, so why are you asking me why your business is doing something??? Really? He also told me I needed to request sealed edges and said all his customers know this. How would I know this? I wouldn't. They have all these signs up saying stuff about great customer service and customer loyalty. Whatever........ They even have a sign that says for orders under $25, there is an additional $5 charge. I was charged this. When talking to the owner he said that I wasn't even suppose to have an order under $25. He said to fix the plastic I was sold, I would have to pay at least $10 more to make up for the difference for the $25 minimum. Make up your mind! In the end, they somewhat fixed the plastic, but seriously, this place has MAJOR Customer Service issues! DON'T GO HERE!!! read more

on a return I did, I was charged a 25% restocking fee - NOONE let me know this would happen as if I knew, I would have stored the items till next year - I will never purchase from there again - this was NOT a special order and ALL of the product was returned in perfect order - I found this on the internet - I guess this crappy company feels it applies to them = Some retailers only charge a restocking fee on special orders or customized items. Others only apply the restocking fee if the item has been opened. Electronics companies customarily charge between 10 and 25 percent of the item's price for a return, with 15 percent as the most common amount quoted. read more

The vaudevillian family that walks into the talent agency & then proceeds to engage in the raunchiest, most appallingly offensive acts imaginable...and after the whole debacle culminates in a traumatizing slurry of filth, the talent agent asks, "What do you call yourselves?" And the dad says with a flourish, "The Aristocrats!" Enter "Regal Plastic Supply Company." I've never contacted a plastics company before. After reading both the overwhelmingly polar positive & negative reviews, I called Regal with a simple and easy request, only to learn everything the other negative reviewers claimed in their reviews was absolutely accurate. They are rude, curt, dismissive, & act like they absolutely could NOT care less. I was put on hold twice and then hung up on after I specifically asked to place my order. I spoke to 2 different employees (a woman and then a man) and then was hung up on. When I first read the negative reviews, I remember thinking "hmmm I wish the negative reviewers would just tell me where to shop instead." I found Interstate Plastics & Austin Plastics & Supply, Inc. online...they aren't as high up on searches, but for as rude and abrasive as the people at Regal are, I think it's worth it to award my money to a company that has employees with manners & values its customers. When Regal's management prioritizes customer satisfaction over continuing to allow their miserable, rude employees to hurt their reputation, I would be willing to give them another shot. read more

Regal Plastics Supply called me this morning letting me know my order (that I got quoted from them at *least* 2 weeks ago) was ready. Problem is, I never put the order in, because they gave me a ridiculous lead time (in their defense, this was during SXSW prep madness time), and told them no thanks. So when I informed the guy on the phone that I never submitted the order in any way because their price was too high and their lead time wouldn't work, he got upset and said "Fine I'll just go cut it up" (this is about a $600 custom order) and basically hung up - like it's my fault they didn't wait for order confirmation. Regal can take a hike. I should have been done with them a long time ago. They are far from the only plastics show in town, and I think they forget that. Laird Plastics came through with a 2 day turnaround time and about $50 cheaper than Regal. I've found my new supplier. read more

I visited Regal Plastics to purchase materials to put a plexiglass roof on my pergola. I was unfamiliar with the process and the staff was extremely helpful in guiding me to the appropriate materials and answering all my questions regarding installation and the differences between my options. I also asked if my materials could be cut while I wait, as I had driven about an hour and unfortunately had not called ahead. Rather than make me wait, they located an upgraded product that was already cut to the required dimensions and gave me the upgraded materials at no cost so that I did not have to wait.
