Very pleased with their competitive pricing, DJ came back out to template our kitchen. Within a week, Luis and Pedro were out installing our new granite. They do excellent work and we were very pleased with the finished project. During installation, we encountered an unexpected issue that nobody could have anticipated, but the project manager, Moises, promptly addressed it, going above and beyond to make sure we were 100% satisfied with the agreed upon solution. New Stone Concepts gave me excellent service and was very patient with our project as we asked them to come by our house and measure for the counter top before we had actually installed the country sink. Once everything was ready, one more confirming measurement was taken and the installation went without a problem and looks great! We were afraid that there might be lots of dust based on other reviews, but it seems that they have solved the dust problem because there really wasn't any. The installers were friendly and professional and looked after the details so the counter was clean and polished. Then they adhered a removable sheet of plastic over it so it would stay that way during the tile back splash install. My hat goes off to this team. read more

High prices. Terrible service. False Advertising. I had a terrible experience here. I came in for a remnant I put on hold. I spoke to someone that morning and then gave them a call 40 minutes before I got there to give them the heads up. When I got there, the sales rep I had talked to on the phone that morning was helping someone so I waited. There were a lot of staff around no one said hello to me, not even the rep I was waiting for. Finally, the rep finished up with the client. Then another customer comes in, and the rep goes to help her and leaves the building. I continue to wait with no help. I finally announce that I need some help and got help begrudgingly. I told them what I needed and what I had on hold. I come to find out that the remnant is not as big as they had advertised online. There were cut ins in the remnant on all edges making the usable space too small. The lady helping me did not know the inventory so was unable to recommend something else. I asked about their fabrication prices. The sales rep wouldn't tell me over the phone, and they told me they don't tell pricing in person. They send an email afterward. I got out of them that a sink cutout is $135. I told them that was pretty high, and they didn't care. They said it was the retail price, and they prefer to work with builders. Jokes on them. I have never in my life received this kind of service. I have one word: AMAZING!! New Stone's attention to details and the high level of concierge services was just what i was needing. Their prices were comparable to others and just a little better. I would spend what ever it takes to get the quality of service that i received from them. They came and did all the measurements beforehand and then from order to install it was no more then 5-7 days. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well. I wish I could give more stars, as I actually prefer to write positive reviews. First, do not expect to be treated as a priority. Yes, I understand Austin is booming at the moment, however, top customer service is making your client feel as though they are your only client. We did add to the scope of our project after our initial discussion and prior to the measurements/templates appointment. Our quote was considerably higher than expected. Not to worry, there was a miscommunication about one area and all was made right. We thought all was going well until the install. On install day my bar was cut short. 12 inches short as to not allow an overhang for a bar. This bar was in fact discussed and actually recommended by the owner (DJ) at the template measure. So, when DJ came to chat about it I as quite surprised that he arrived agitated and on the defense. Cutting to the chase (and channeling my inner/former Yankee) I told him it needed to be fixed. His make up gift to me was to install marble inserts in my shower. Weeks later I was sent the invoice and still had a useless shower as the necessary inserts were not installed. After being told by his wife/office manager that these pieces were "complimentary" and I should pay, I once again explained there would be no payment till the job was complete. The inserts were installed shortly after that discussion (and are of similar material, not the exact same as I was told they would be). I was kind in giving 2 stars as Scott and the installing team are great guys! read more

New Stone is amazing. I looked around Austin for countertop places and it seemed like all the contractors I hired for the kitchen remodeling recommended new stone. There is a reason why it seems like all contractors use New Stone. They are super professional and they do an amazing job. Did I mention they are priced quite competitively. Also the plumber they use is way cheaper than any plumber I've seen around who does the same job. I believe they are the best in Austin. You can't go wrong. I'm not sure how long Home Depot takes to install countertops, but these guys took around 4 hours and made sure I was completely satisfied. They did an amazing job and were super patient. My wife and I got two bids on putting in granite in our kitchen and both bids were within $20 of each other. We chose New Stone because our Realtor recommended them to us and I am very glad we did! The final product looks great and we wish we did this years ago. DJ, one of the owners, came and did the measuring and gave us the bid. The day before the install Shawna from the office called and confirmed everything and told me what I needed to do to get ready (i.e. empty out all the cabinets). Brian, who helped us out a TON, did the demo of the old counter tops and came back the next day to finish the grout. The installers did a good job with the granite but I am glad that Brian was around when they needed help. Finished product looks great and we will use them again. read more

We worked with 6 different home repair/remodel contractors in the month of our remodel. These guys were great. Everything went according to plan and ended up being one of the smoothest installs. DJ made great recommendations on the type of counter tops and style of back-splashes. We opted to purchase our faucets elsewhere and have their guys install them. Everything came together perfectly. We hired new stone to install our granite and back splash in our Kitchen. I looked all over the place and they great reviews, competitive pricing, and were recommended. They were easy to work with and very accommodating to our schedule and dates we could work. I would give the granite portion of the sale 5 stars but we were disappointed with the backsplash install. We did subway tile which the backsplash guy Kelly said was a little more difficult. A lot of the edges of the glass were jagged cuts and some pieces have small chips. The main thing we dislike is many of the tiles are crooked. It was disappointing to see after spending so much money and time. I would recommend them, but not Kelly or maybe just don't use glass with him. Since I wrote this review I contacted new stone and they said they will fix all the tile at no cost to me. That is great! Once it is fixed I will definitely give them 5 stars. read more

We are so happy with the work from this company. The owner visited personally to survey the job and complete the measurements. Our cabinets are little different than most and he discussed the difficulties and how they would handle the process. One thing we wanted to do was keep the existing tile backsplash when replacing the counter. Other companies were very leary of this saying the tile will probably come off. DJ expressed his concern but was sure they could make it happen. We worked with Dawn in the office for choosing the sink and faucet. She was terrific and very helpful with the research. They did a great job on the install. They removed the old tile counter without disturbing the backsplash. It took all day to get the new counter installed but they did a terrific job fitting it back in with the existing backsplash. Also, they cleaned up after every phase of the process which kept the dust down considerably. If you are considering a new counter top make sure you talk to New Stone Concepts before making your choice. read more

I have guess that all the 5 star reviews came from DJ's family, because they are not 5 star. DJ was pleasant but if this is his company, he needs control over his staff. The installation and the customer service is lacking. Moses our project manager was nice, but he did not monitor the work and therefore was "embarrased" by what happened. The finished product is fine, but this company is not worth your business. Brian was sent to put in the metal braces for the bar. He spray painted them black with our white counter top. They are visible when you sit at the table and in the family room. common sense would have meant to paint them white, but that did not happen. This was the least of issues with Brian. He was insistent on leveling the bar, but once he did, we had large holes and have to replace all of the molding. The molding had to be replaced to cover the 1/2 inch gap that Brian created. He could have asked and offered options, but he did not. We lived her for 15 years with an unlevel bar, but now it is level but we have other problems to fix. Moses offered to pay for the materials or send Brian back. The bigger issue with Brian was that he brought his dog to the site and staked him, without water in our front yard. That is pretty unacceptable behavior. We provided water for the dog. Our neighbor also asked Brian about the dog. What kind of person brings a dog to a site where they are doing work without letting his employer or the customer know? Strange. We live a gated community. Contractors can be here 7 to 7. After that, if there is a complaint they can be asked to leave. We have had contractors inside later than those hours, but only inside, not outside cutting quartz counter top. The community also requires proof of current insurance and a current drivers license. These measures were required because of damage caused to the community by contractors including driving through gates. The first day while Brian was here, Luis arrived at the gate with no drivers license. The gate called us, we called DJ who said he would deal with it. DJ called Brian and told him to stop and go get the installation crew. Because of all of this, the work did not begin on the first day until 11am. Brian eventually left. The installers, Luis and Juan, went to lunch and then returned. We asked them to stop cutting outside after 7. We provided templates for the sinks to DJ on his second visit, but none of the sink holes were cut. We got a couple of answers on this, some of which made sense. they wanted to cut inside the house which would have caused bad dust. We insisted they cut the quartz on the deck to keep the dust down. They did not leave until 8 the first day but said they would return on Tuesday at about 10. They were not half way done, but said it would take 4 more hours of work. Tuesday morning, they don't show by 10:30 so we called. Diane, who needs a course in customer service, told us that our crew was sent to Waco for a big important job. Then she told us they were thrown off the site at 6:30 Monday night (untrue), and that they would be here by 1. We are west of Austin so Waco is a long way from here. She said Moses, our project manager, would call. When he did not call, we called back and Diane said he would not be in the office until 1. Eventually, we got in contact with Moses. He agreed to come out and see the work. he also agreed that it wasn't right to not finish the work, but Luis told him he only had 1.5 hours work left. Moses promised the crew would arrive by 3 on Tuesday. The arrived close to 4. Moses arrived, was embarrased by the work, and when Juan and Luis arrived, gave them instructions. They were here until 9. They did little to clean up the mess since they seemed pissed to have to be here. They used a wet blade to even the surfaces of two pieces of quartz. This level white speckles all over the cabinets which had dried by the next morning. Glue was tracked all over the floors which we have had to scrape off with a razor blade. The appliances were dust and finger print covered. We have spent a week finding the mess and cleaning it up. And for the final issue. To start the work, we were required to give DJ a 50% deposit. Before he came for hsi second visit, Diane wanted us to drive a check down to the office. We said No because DJ was coming on Monday. We gave him the check. It took 2 weeks for it to show up against our bank account. In an effort to end this fiasco, I sent a check for the remainder (minus $50 for the wood and the paint for the black brackets). The following day, I get an email from Diane with the invoice attached. The invoice shows NO RECORD of the 50% deposit at all. New counters cost thousands, and they cannot even acknowledge that we have paid them a cent. Ridiculous. read more

My wife and I have been wanting to get new countertops for several years. We have had the style picked for 3 years now. We finally decided to make the plunge and New Stone Concepts was recommended by a friend. WOW!!! I can not say anything but good! DJ came out and did the measure up gave us the estimate. We had one other estimate and they weren't even close. Plus the other person did not make us feel comfortable with their company. DJ was so kind and patient and answered all 232,000 questions (small exageration) that we had and never once made us feel silly for having so many questions. The schedule was set and the schedule was met. No delays no issues. It went extremely smooth. The install crew were extremely professional and obviously knew what they were doing. We have close to 100 square feet of counter tops and very oddly shaped in some areas. Never once did the install crew appear to be "stumped". They just took care of it! About the seams...You can't even see them unless you are trying to find them. DJ did say that the pattern lends itself to hiding the seams however I have seen other countertops and these seams are the best by far! I highly recommend DJ and New Stone Concepts. read more

Final result was good but getting there was painful. We remodeled our kitchen, wine cellar and one guest bathroom. We hired New Stone and DJ seemed like a great guy and his wife a quality person as well. Unfortunately, the kitchen island was cut with the grain running backwards but we accepted it and had everything else gone smoothly, we still would have rated 4 or 5 stars. But after the install, the granite was not smooth or polished (though it is the most expensive grade sold). When I asked about polishing, I was told by their foreman that the granite yard should have told us that it would not be smooth or polished after installation. Further, I should take it up with the granite yard, not New Stone. When I pointed out that I purchased the granite from New Stone and was sent by New Stone to the yard to pick the specific slabs, I was told that the fine print on New Stone's contract states that they do not take responsibility for such. That comment did not sit well with me and I explained that I have the ability to hire attorneys long enough to bankrupt them - that led the foreman to change his attitude and send someone to clean and polish. The final result was that was all that was needed (as I expected). The granite is now fabulously beautiful. DJ never called or was heard from and has since lost at least one large job from one of our friends. By the way, hire your own plumber - their plumber has no company name, no last name on his card and does not return calls. One of the new faucets he installed was leaking and it was difficult to get him to come back and then he said it was a defective faucet. Our regular plumber came out and showed us that there was a loose nut that caused the leak. DJ is a nice guy but a lousy businessman and I would never recommend him. read more
