We go inside and proceeded to the host stand. As we walked in, we saw the host, possibly a manager, hold a full conversation with the party in front of before seating them. Several employees passed us a number of times, but no one, including the host even acknowledged us. After, waiting about 5-7 minutes, we realized that we must be invisible. Much, much better than I expected. Clean, friendly, and food was fast. My turkey and dressing was enough to feed two men and a baby. Our server was pleasant and attentive, and the pricing was lower than I anticipated. No wireless signal and no public internet network, combined with no TVs in the dining area (that I was seated in, anyway) made me twiddle thumbs for a minute. According to our server, it's an established problem. It didn't bother many other folks because the restaurant was packed. It would have been nice to check in and write this from the restaurant but I couldn't connect to Yelp. It was my first time here, which is odd because I frequent the area often and haven't heard of it before. The menu is nice, lots to choose from. Similar to cheddars with slightly less options. Unfortunately, they were out of Lemonade (odd right?) on a Saturday but we grabbed drinks none the less. I ordered the chicken fried chicken. It was seasoned perfectly with a light and airy batter. The chicken in some parts was awfully dry and overcooked but I finished what I could. I was not impressed by the Mac & cheese. I actually sent it back because it tasted like the blue box stuff. The broccoli rice casserole was alright. The rice was not fully done but I ate it anyways. What a disappointment. The other meal I had was perfect so this was double the DISAPPOINTMENT. The Beef Tips are only available 2 days a week. So you would think that this would be some type of specialty disc from them that you could count on being good tasting quality food. It was not. Please take a careful look at the picture from the menu and the picture from the food they gave me. The menu food looks juicy delicious even appetizing. The food they gave me look like it came out of a dog canned dog food. Not only did it look bad it tasted bad the seasonings were ridiculous. The consistency was gloppy there must have been at least three cups of rice on the plate which means the amount that they gave me for a dish that cost $18 was pitiful. I really don't know how to explain how bad this dish was to you. Is it it says if the cook was back there having seizures and forgot what cooking was about. To the manager of this location in Arlington. Our server named Tausha was the worst service I have ever had. 3 of us got 2 rolls and 2 plates. That was fine. We asked to get one more roll. She gave us an attitude and didn't even say oh sorry. Most of the food on the menu are fried or grilled. She told me the grill was broken today, so they can't make my order. Are you kidding me ? She didn't even say sorry or nothing or ask if she could get me something else . I had to ask for a menu and her response was nothing. When she brought it, it had food and hairs between the pages.I was disgusted, so I ended up with no order. My husband got his food which came with a spoon. It was YUCK. (See the pic) He asked to exchange it, then she brought another dirty one. She took it back and never came back to bring a clean one. She never took care of empty glasses and plates. My wife and I always get the chicken fried steak or I will get the chicken fried steak and she will get something along the lines of turkey and dressing or something to that fact. The point Remains, the food 99.9% of the time is always on point. In all the years I have gone to Cotton Patch, I have only had one bad experience with the food, and it was immediately rectified. Service is always going to be hit-and-miss depending on where you're at and how busy someone is. I'm not a pretentious little princess the things that I need to be attended to as soon as I hit the door or my butt hits the seat. But I do have a criteria in which a server gets a decent tip. For example, as long as they attend to me after I arrived within the first three to five minutes, they're going to get a pretty decent tip. If they consistently see to it that I have tea, water, need anything and so on. They're getting a great tip. If your server ethically sales on all fronts, don't be afraid to tell the manager. If a server sucks at their job, then perhaps they shouldn't be doing that job. The fact remains, I've always had decent service, decent food and a decent experience at any Cotton Patch I've ever gone to. read more

I came here with Paul H and I agree with the 3 star rating. This place is homestyle cooking with a heavy hand of salt. Everything was a a little salty for me. The portions are very generous for the price which was very reasonable. You won't break the bank coming here. I came here with my family and was able to sample a little bit of everything. I enjoyed my tilapia but the steamed veggies that came with it looked a little sad. My mom's salmon wasn't as good. The portion wasn't as generous and it was a little dry and salty. The fried catfish and hush puppies were good. The fried chicken was too. I think this place is great if you're down with something fried. The healthier options weren't as great and I think they tried to compensate by adding a bunch of salt and seasoning, Overall this place is ok. Nice service. Clean and tidy restaurant. The location is freshly built so it still has that new feeling. Foodwise, if you want something healthy, get the tilapia. If not, go for the fried chicken. It's a sure thing on the menu. read more

I know that's a pretty strong statement to start out with but our experience last night with Cotton patch take-home was terrible. We ordered four entrées the sides that come with them were tiny, and they forgot to put one side in. under cooked the catfish. Also when ordering online they needed our car information for curbside. Well there was no curbside, we had to go inside to get the meal which goes against the reason why we were doing curbside. This was the first time I had gone to this location and I do not recommend them to anyone. My first time eating at the cotton patch. The waitstaff was nice, I was seated promptly. I started with the fried green tomatoes. They came out hot fresh and ready. The tomatoes were not mushy they were ripe and good. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The CFC was breaded nicely and had a good flavor. Although my potatoes were cold the gravy warmed them up. The broccoli was the best ever. The drink I ordered must of been a virgin drink that was the only thing that wasn't on point. We just received the absolute worst service ever here. The 20 minute wait for someone to even come to the front and acknowledge was excessive and also waiting for a table especially when it was tables available was the first thing. Then when the hostess finally did come to the front she ignored us (party of 2) to get the count of the people (party of 5) standing behind us, which i might add they came in AFTER we did. When she finally did acknowledge us standing directly in front of her, she informs that she will go and find us a table. That was another 20 minute wait. The hostess then comes back to seat the bigger party that came in AFTER us and when asked why did she do that when we had been waiting, she responded with "did i speak to you personally?" Which she did speak to us personally. And then walked off to go find more menus. I have never had this type of service/experience from them before. We will definitely not be back again. This place has gone downhill quick! We didn't have to wait for a seat, that should have been a red flag. Usually this place has a lot of clientele and it was a Friday afternoon. Now I know why no one comes here. The service was not good. I'm going to let the tea falling on our table count as a mistake. However, forgetting the small different items requested, never brought, not a mistake. That's just bad service. Glasses empty for a long period of time, and passing by empty glasses not very good service. The food was EDIBLE. NOT VERY GOOD. The fries were cold and the food was not tasty. 9/2/17 We walked in with another server who was gracious enough to sit us as well before clocking in. She immediately started getting my family cotton patch's infamous rolls when I noticed she forgot to wash her hands. Because my family was undecided about what to get, we let her take another order for a big party that just got seated. Boy, was that a mistake. We did not see our server Alex for at least another 15-20 min. Our appetizer was forgotten and our food came out warm. Judging the body language of the rest of the waitstaff, they weren't happy to be at work. This experience for us was very disappointing. I stood at the front for three minutes waiting for someone to seat. Was passed by several employees who didn't even give me a glance. Finally I was sat in a section near the front and who comes to wait on me but this young girl who waited on me the previous week. I thought to myself oh no not her. Last week took forever and served me lukewarm food. I thought oh well maybe tonight would be different. It was definitely not the same service, it was worse. 29 minutes after I arrived she got a table of 5 and basically monopolized all of her time. After 45 minutes I had enough. I got up and asked the young man who sat me for the manager. I just wanted to pay for the salad I had eaten so I could leave. The manager asked me what he could do, but at this point I was so disgusted I lost my appetite. He offered me free lunch for tomorrow but I declined. I won't be back EVER. Never been to a cotton cafe before so I decided to take a venture and try it out. Eck! Got the meatloaf and when I took a few bites I noticed the center was pink. Now if you know how meatloaf is made, it's made with eggs that is nothing to play with. So I let our waitress know (who was great might I add).... she promptly got the manager . He already rolled up with an excuse that it was the tomato sauce and that they bake it twice. I'm like I have never seen tomato sauce make the outside of the meatloaf brown and the inside pink and mushy. And he eats this everyday. I'm like than you are eating raw meat. He said its not raw. Not I'm sorry or can I get something else. So I paid my tab and left.
