Fantastic brisket! Mac 'n cheese to die for! Even better was the love and genuine warmth of the staff

Chopped & sliced brisket, green beans & Mac n Cheese

Wanted a bite close to where I was shopping, so Yelp guided me here for some so-called good BBQ. I ordered the two meat plates, but I only wanted brisket. The sides were limited spicy beans, green beans, pasta salad, mac n cheese & deviled eggs. I choose green beans & mac n cheese to be on the safe side. Little to my surprise nothing was safe... this was complete TRASH!!! The brisket was DRY AS CARDBOARD, not a lick of moisture whatsoever. The mac n cheese was creamy but missing salt & the green beans were straight from the can. This was a complete waste of money in my opinion however the customer service is 5 stars. If you want REAL QUALITY BBQ don't come here Yelpers. Ronnie's pick

$56 for two two meat plates-- ridiculously overcharging for what you get

Confused how there are so many high ratings for this place... The BBQ at Bodacious is exceedingly mediocre and horribly overpriced. I paid $60 for two two meat plates with a meager portion of meats on both plates. The sides were flavorless and bland.. the macaroni and cheese had black pepper in it.... Black pepper. The BBQ sauce was bland... the ribs were Ok, one of my ribs was nearly all fat- clearly not paying attention to what is being served. The ribs weren't warm and were just sitting out when cut-- the sausage quality was poor, fatty and again lacked flavor. The highlight was the chocolate cake And raspberry cheesecake-- but that's not why we came here. Yelpers you will get better BBQ at a Dickeys and that's say a lot- Hurtados was closing otherwise we would have gone there-- in a crowded BBQ market you have a lot of other options.

Wow - just what we were looking for! We were looking for great Texas BBQ and Bodacious did not disappoint. This unassuming little building opened up to a counter of delicious meats, serve your own sides (so many choices!) and desserts galore. We had perfectly tender and incredibly flavorful ribs, wonderfully spicy beans, hot and juicy corn on the cob, tangy and flavorful potato salad, and some of the best coleslaw I've had! I highly recommend the jalapeños as well, crisp, bright, and super spicy. Another surprising star? The homemade banana pudding, and oh my gosh you'll want 3 - one for now, one for breakfast, and one for a midnight snack. So much fun, and the nicest staff anywhere. Just amazing - I highly recommend and will be back anytime we're in TX!

Came in during lunch time and was able to get through the line very quickly. The service was very friendly and guided everyone through their meats and processes. I get pork ribs and brisket at every BBQ place I try, unless they have Beef ribs then I will definitely get that! The ribs were fall off the bone and tasty. They have a crispier rub on the outside with a hint of sweetness. The brisket was too dry for my taste. I tend to ask for the fattier or more marbles cuts. Also I don't think it was a fresh cut so that may have added to it. I actually had to put salt and pepper on the brisket , which is something I never do.

The combo meal easily feeds 4.

I was visiting friends locally who decided we would go out for local bbq for dinner. Bodacious was the closest to their house, even though they had not previously been there. It was quiet, with good food and great hospitality. The Family Pack is a good deal for 4, perhaps with an extra side or two. The brisket was lean. The sausage was my favorite. I thought the pulled pork could have had a bit more flavor, but that's nothing a little sauce - or, as I did, putting it between buns with the pickles - doesn't make better. Our sides were really good, creamy cole slaw and cheesy-smooth mac and cheese. The only thing they were out of was unsweetened iced tea, and we got some mileage out of that ("Y'all know that's not a thing here, right?"). Everyone here goes out of your way to make sure you're enjoying your dinner.

It includes: Smoked Doro Wat (Spicy Chicken Stew), Awaze Rib Tip Tibs, Awaze Brisket, Awaze Pork Ribs, your choice of 2 sides, Texas Toast, gluten-free teff injera, and rice pilaf! The hardest part is choosing the sides because they're all amazing, from classic BBQ sides like potato salad, fried okra, baked beans, corn, collard greens, and mac and cheese to Ethiopian sides like shiro wat (chickpea stew), misir wat (red lentil stew), tikil gomen (cabbage and carrots), and more. Even berbere-spiced mac and cheese! Berbere is an incredible blend of Ethiopian spices that is amazing on everything, savory or sweet. If it's just me eating with no one to share, I like to get the Big Ash loaded baked potato. Your choice of meat on a perfectly fluffy hot potato with plenty of butter and sour cream -- it's soooo comforting and delicious!

I expected "knock your socks off" but got very good food instead. I expected a packed dining room but at 12:30 it was almost empty. We ordered the sample plate for 2 which included ribs, brisket, rib tips, and doro wat (chicken stew) with rice, injera and we got beefy collard greens and cabbage with carrots sides. The ribs were excellent. I also really liked the chicken stew. I was surprised by the sour flavor of the injera. The thin bbq sauce was tasty while it was not sweet or full of vinegar. It was a nice alternative to traditional sauces. While we enjoyed our meal, and I would order the ribs and chicken stew again, this place is a bit too far for a repeat. But it introduced me to Ethiopian food which I can find closer to home. I love the creativity of the owners.

We came at noon on a gloomy Thursday morning and we were able to sit down and eat our food at 1pm. Service was quick! Staff was extremely friendly and hilarious, making the experience a good one from top to bottom. Great job, team. Barbecue was TO DIE for. Some of the best I've had in all of DFW. It's a bold claim, I know, but you've gotta go try it for yourself. Brisket was so tender and melt-in-your-mouth, the jalapeño cheddar sausage was amazing, and the sides were PHENOMENAL. Great mac and cheese. The space is clean, small, and cozy. Would love for more seating for the sake of the line, but I understand the hype and exclusivity appeal. I assumed that the line would be smaller because of that. I was wrong. I got there at about 9:30 am. The line was still long. I stayed and I finally got inside the building around 12pm. I got a pound and a half of brisket, half a pound of pork belly, one pork rib and three sausage links. The hot link, the jalapeño cheese and the regular sausage. The brisket was amazing. The pork belly was pretty good as well. The sausages and the pork rib were just okay in my opinion. They gave me the hot link sausage for free. The line moved fairly quickly and the employees were very friendly. They seemed happy to work there. It was a great experience, but I will have to admit something important. I'm a bbq connoisseur and I am coming to the conclusion that waiting for hours for great bbq isn't worth it anymore. Goldee's BBQ was good. I would suggest finding a place in the city that you live in that has good bbq and skip waiting in long lines for hours. Places like Goldee's are a one and done or a once every few years or so. By the way,all the food I got totaled with tip $150. The money and your time makes it not worth it in my opinion.

I say this because after my experience with the manager Erin, she made me feel we were not suppose to eat it and return it in whole. I called on Friday since they were closed on Thursday. The manager asked me to bring the turkey breast leftovers I had so she could replace it with the brisket. I got upset and explained it's 1/2 gone. She said I understand but you need to bring it. I told her I would be there in 30 mins and hung up. I was in disbelief but still gave them the benefit I thought she needs to see prove. I arrived and the whole situation went horrible on their part. I maintained civil but now I regret it. A young lady acknowledge me and knew who I was. She took my turkey breast leftovers. I waited for awhile and I could see that Erin didn't know how to handle the situation because she involved other employees. I started to feel uncomfortable like all Earles were on me. I maintained my composure. And then Erin and another guy walked over to me, they didn't apologize nor seemed concerned as if they were being inconvenient. They just asked "You have your receipt". I showed it to them from my phone, she took my phone and observed as she expected me to be lying. I told her " I only ordered brisket not sure how they could get this wrong". She just mumbled, handed my phone and they all walked back to the prepping area. Waited for a bit finally she come to the front register and I walked over to her and she says "Was this the only order you had that day". Now I got upset and got loud told her "Yes it was my first and last time I will order from here". She then proceed to explain why the amount of brisket was being given to me. I cutt her off told "Let's just get this over with". I grabbed the bag and told her "I will be calling corporate and giving a review". Mostly I was disappointed and pissed at their behavior. I felt as if I did something wrong. They kept my leftovers, I don't understand that part. An apology goes a long way....sure didn't get one from management.
