Turkey and a chopped beef sandwich with slaw and fries
    Andrew G.

I will say, the team was very friendly. Coming down to the food, Davis is very average. There's nothing that will blow you away, but nothing was terrible. I love coleslaw and that was probably the best thing we had on our plates. All that being said, a self-serve ice cream machine is always a welcomed site.

I love me some David's BBQ my favorite is smoked turkey and potato salad. The service is always great and the atmosphere is laid back nothing special just clean and comfortable. The free old fashioned soft serve ice cream takes me back to childhood memories. When I want potato salad and don't feel like making my own they're always my go to spot.

The food was great, with a large amount. Good conversation and friendly staff. It reminded me of my local spot at home

Great family bbq restaurant. The walls are covered in signed pictures and served is good cafeteria style. Super fun place. Best part is the ice cream cone at the end! The staff are so kind. They sliced my girls extra cheese to eat. Now to the food, all the meat was good. I liked the ribs best. The sides were ok. I wish there was a potatoe or something else as an option. The ice cream cone at the end was great and the toast was great tooo!! There's also a drive thru which I thought was cool for a BBQ. Definitely check this place out!!

Wow! David's is the epitome of Texas barbecue. You're greeted when you walk in, the employees are all so respectful and helpful, and the food is great! I went with my dad and we got beef brisket, pork ribs, onion rings, and fried okra. The brisket was good (maybe on the drier side considering we asked for moist brisket), but the ribs were outstanding! Both the fried okra and onion rings were perfect, couldn't have asked for better! Even my dad loved the onion rings, and he considers himself an onion ring connoisseur lol!

It's been 4 years since I've been to David's! I used to live right around the corner. I would go almost every Tuesday! The are very friendly here especially the Owner! Great atmosphere and great conversations !! This place has been in Pantego for many years and it's a staple for folks that live near by ! I wish I still lived in the area but I'll definitely be back for another visit ! The brisket and sausage was delicious and don't forget to ask if any burnt ends are available!!

Sliced Brisket, Sausage, Fried Okra, Potato Salad

First of all, I stopped eating to write this. That in and of itself should say it all. Brisket was amazing, well trimmed, flavorful, moist, but doesn't disintegrate when touched. Mild sausage was really good. The Okra is honestly a determining factor for me and for Texas okra at a BBQ place it was spot on. I could have had just that and been happy. Sauce was fantastic. If there were any small notes it would be a touch more salt and pepper in the potato salad, but that's just for the sake of having some kind of criticism. If you like good Texas BBQ and live in this area, and you don't make it a point to periodically visit this place and support them you will be doing yourself and the entire community a huge disservice.

Okay, I found my favorite barbecue joint close to my house. This place was really friendly and the food was amazing. I was there around 3:00 on a Thursday afternoon and the place was not crowded at all. Everyone who was working there was really friendly and when I told him I was there for the first time they walked me through the process Basically get in line out to the right look at the menu. Figure out if you want a dinner plate option or specific cuts. I went for a two meats plate that was turkey and pork ribs Then you move on to the side section where you can pick up either. Coleslaw, baked beans, potato salad and some extra barbecue sauce. Additionally, if you're looking for things like fried okra or if you're in the mood for french fries or even onion rings, you can request that and they will bring it out to your table. The place is oh it's been around for a while and the decor shows it but it was comfortable. It was clean and it was an authentic Texas BBQ experience. I grabbed a soda fountain drink, and got busy with the plate in front of me. The pork ribs were amazing. I am definitely going to be ordering this again. The turkey was thinly sliced and was really good. I just wish I had another couple of slices of bread to make a sandwich out of it. The coleslaw and the baked beans were great. No disappointment there. So the okra and the onion rings were wonderful. It was just so filling I couldn't finish them so I brought the rest home. Now let me share that you can actually get ice cream at this place So I grabbed a cone and have some soft serve ice cream after the meal The whole team there was amazing. Jesse behind the counter was awesome, friendly and made me feel comfortable. Diane at the register was very friendly and it was nice to talk with her. Other members of the family came out and I really do appreciate that. That was really nice that they were very friendly and helpful to other customers, not just me. I absolutely recommend this place. Would I go back again? Absolutely. Next time you're in the pantego area, please stop by. It is awesome, I'm telling you it is great barbecue.

It was just ok. The chopped brisket was not very good. The ribs were tender but they didn't taste smoked. They tasted baked.

By the time the store opened, the line had grown to being over twenty parties long, so plan accordingly if you don't want to be waiting for a while. Between the four in our party, we shared a three meat BBQ plate with bacon burnt ends, brisket, and their house made sausage. For our two sides, we chose their hatch chile mac n cheese and their Mexican street corn. Following the recommendations of many Yelpers, we also ordered two of the brisket tostadas and two of the birria tacos. When we received our plate of meat, I was a bit surprised at how little of each meat there was on the plate, but in hindsight, this ended up being the perfect amount of food, where everyone was able to get a sample of everything. Of the items we ordered, my favorite was definitely the burnt ends. These were melt in your mouth tender, and was insanely rich and decadent. Each of the three pieces in our order had a beautiful bark on the outside that resulted in a satisfying crunch with every bite. The casing to the sausage was snappy and the sausage itself was very juicy. The brisket was fall apart tender. The brisket was a bit light on seasoning, so I ended up using the Aztec Gold BBQ sauce they had sitting at the table with it. The sides that we chose were both delicious. The pasta in the mac n cheese was cooked perfectly and the noodles was generously sauced. The elote was sweet and smokey, and the Cotija cheese added creaminess to the side. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Hurtado Barbecue and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit if you're in Texas and are looking for great tasting BBQ.

The hardest part is choosing the sides because they're all amazing, from classic BBQ sides like potato salad, fried okra, baked beans, corn, collard greens, and mac and cheese to Ethiopian sides like shiro wat (chickpea stew), misir wat (red lentil stew), tikil gomen (cabbage and carrots), and more. Even berbere-spiced mac and cheese! Berbere is an incredible blend of Ethiopian spices that is amazing on everything, savory or sweet. They are true competition ribs allowing you to nibble off the bone. Granddaughter loved the flavor and juicy quality of her brisket! I'm giving the restaurant 3 stars because we had to wait for our food for over an hour. The wait staff were a bit indifferent to our order and had to be reminded twice our order was not complete. The restaurant was not that busy prompting me to believe there is a disconnect between the front and back of the house. The restaurant is in a strip center in Arlington. We almost didn't wait but so glad we did. So one of the guys came out and did a menu introduction and a Goldee's intro as well. Without futher ado here's the order: 2 lbs of brisket 2 links of Lao sausage (Sticky rice/fish sauce) Kale Cole Slaw Potato Salad A subtle smell of seasoning & traditional seasoned Texas Post Oak smoke rolled out of the front door... At the counter we were greeted with two gentleman slicing and dicing all the proteins. A tray stacked with the goods we made our way to a table. First bite of brisket without sauce.... Perfect, literally the way I think a brisket should be served hot dripping with juices. No one asked what type of cut or the dreaded "lean or wet" question was asked nor was it needed. Brisket and sauce was just as delectable. The bark was well rounded never offensive or bitter. The Lao sausage was a well received addition though maybe not the compliment to the brisket. Sides: Potato Salad was straight out of a Bavarian Beir Garten with the green onions and vinegar. Excellent touch to cut the rich meats. Kale Slaw again was another great addition with the cutting hint of ACV. Excellent well rounded rendering of the Texas tradition of fall apart smoked meats. I'd say the #3 ranking Texas Top 50 BBQ joints fits really well. I'm going to recommend and suggest this Brisket to strangers near and far. Job well done.

If you like a stronger black pepper taste in your bbq then I think you'll like it. I do think their subtle asian twists on bbq is cool and unique. Ordered: - Brisket - They give alternate half and half lean vs moist. It was good I liked it. - Beef Ribs - Mom was interested in trying it so we got it. I'm just a pork rib girl more than a beef rib girl. - Pork Ribs - Unfortunately, it wasn't as "fall of the bone" as other places. It may have just been the piece we got, but the one we had was 70% bark and 30% meat (if that make sense, I prefer more of a true 50/50 split) - Lamb Ribs - Not something you see at every bbq so we got some to try. I liked it. Can't decide which one I like more between pork vs lamb ribs. - Lao Sausage - Their sausage is kinda big. I felt like 1 sausage is the size of 2 sausages at other bbq joints. It's serves with sticky rice and honestly it works really well. - Mac & Cheese - A bit heavy on the pepper. It was alright not my favorite mac and cheese. - South Carolina Pork Hash - a unique side that is special to them. Pork Gravy over jasmine rice. Too mushy for me. - Lemon Kale Slaw - It was alright. Not my favorite slaw. - Banana Pudding - Yummy. I really like their banana pudding. It had a slight cinnamon and almost graham cracker taste to it. - House made bread - Yummy. Almost like a sweet roll meets white bread. We went on a rainy Friday morning. Arrived at 9:30 ish, got our food and seated by 12:30 ish. Asked the dude first in line what time he got there and he said 7:30ish. People abandon their lawn chairs so they had a decent amount near the entrance of the store that people just borrow while they're waiting. When the rain got bad, they let customers wait in the covered area where they store the smokers which was nice.
