By the time the store opened, the line had grown to being over twenty parties long, so plan accordingly if you don't want to be waiting for a while. Between the four in our party, we shared a three meat BBQ plate with bacon burnt ends, brisket, and their house made sausage. For our two sides, we chose their hatch chile mac n cheese and their Mexican street corn. Following the recommendations of many Yelpers, we also ordered two of the brisket tostadas and two of the birria tacos. When we received our plate of meat, I was a bit surprised at how little of each meat there was on the plate, but in hindsight, this ended up being the perfect amount of food, where everyone was able to get a sample of everything. Of the items we ordered, my favorite was definitely the burnt ends. These were melt in your mouth tender, and was insanely rich and decadent. Each of the three pieces in our order had a beautiful bark on the outside that resulted in a satisfying crunch with every bite. The casing to the sausage was snappy and the sausage itself was very juicy. The brisket was fall apart tender. The brisket was a bit light on seasoning, so I ended up using the Aztec Gold BBQ sauce they had sitting at the table with it. The sides that we chose were both delicious. The pasta in the mac n cheese was cooked perfectly and the noodles was generously sauced. The elote was sweet and smokey, and the Cotija cheese added creaminess to the side. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Hurtado Barbecue and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit if you're in Texas and are looking for great tasting BBQ.

I recommend the…read moreTex-Ethiopian platter for a thorough sampling of all the best things this restaurant offers! It includes: Smoked Doro Wat (Spicy Chicken Stew), Awaze Rib Tip Tibs, Awaze Brisket, Awaze Pork Ribs, your choice of 2 sides, Texas Toast, gluten-free teff injera, and rice pilaf! The hardest part is choosing the sides because they're all amazing, from classic BBQ sides like potato salad, fried okra, baked beans, corn, collard greens, and mac and cheese to Ethiopian sides like shiro wat (chickpea stew), misir wat (red lentil stew), tikil gomen (cabbage and carrots), and more. Even berbere-spiced mac and cheese! Berbere is an incredible blend of Ethiopian spices that is amazing on everything, savory or sweet. If it's just me eating with no one to share, I like to get the Big Ash loaded baked potato. Your choice of meat on a perfectly fluffy hot potato with plenty of butter and sour cream -- it's soooo comforting and delicious!

Each dish had unique use of Ethiopian inspiration, especially the nachos I had. The platter is huge and there is no way one person can finish it. The chips are Ethiopian toast points and added a crunch that was delightful. The ribs were cooked perfectly. They did not fall off the bone which we like. They are true competition ribs allowing you to nibble off the bone. Granddaughter loved the flavor and juicy quality of her brisket! I'm giving the restaurant 3 stars because we had to wait for our food for over an hour. The wait staff were a bit indifferent to our order and had to be reminded twice our order was not complete. The restaurant was not that busy prompting me to believe there is a disconnect between the front and back of the house. The restaurant is in a strip center in Arlington. It's a comfortable little restaurant and bar and the adult beverages looked delicious!!

We almost didn't wait but so glad we did. So one of the guys came out and did a menu introduction and a Goldee's intro as well. Without futher ado here's the order: 2 lbs of brisket 2 links of Lao sausage (Sticky rice/fish sauce) Kale Cole Slaw Potato Salad A subtle smell of seasoning & traditional seasoned Texas Post Oak smoke rolled out of the front door... At the counter we were greeted with two gentleman slicing and dicing all the proteins. A tray stacked with the goods we made our way to a table. First bite of brisket without sauce.... Perfect, literally the way I think a brisket should be served hot dripping with juices. No one asked what type of cut or the dreaded "lean or wet" question was asked nor was it needed. Brisket and sauce was just as delectable. The bark was well rounded never offensive or bitter. The Lao sausage was a well received addition though maybe not the compliment to the brisket. Sides: Potato Salad was straight out of a Bavarian Beir Garten with the green onions and vinegar. Excellent touch to cut the rich meats. Kale Slaw again was another great addition with the cutting hint of ACV. Excellent well rounded rendering of the Texas tradition of fall apart smoked meats. I'd say the #3 ranking Texas Top 50 BBQ joints fits really well. I'm going to recommend and suggest this Brisket to strangers near and far. Job well done.

If you like a stronger black pepper taste in your bbq then I think you'll like it. I do think their subtle asian twists on bbq is cool and unique. Ordered: - Brisket - They give alternate half and half lean vs moist. It was good I liked it. - Beef Ribs - Mom was interested in trying it so we got it. I'm just a pork rib girl more than a beef rib girl. - Pork Ribs - Unfortunately, it wasn't as "fall of the bone" as other places. It may have just been the piece we got, but the one we had was 70% bark and 30% meat (if that make sense, I prefer more of a true 50/50 split) - Lamb Ribs - Not something you see at every bbq so we got some to try. I liked it. Can't decide which one I like more between pork vs lamb ribs. - Lao Sausage - Their sausage is kinda big. I felt like 1 sausage is the size of 2 sausages at other bbq joints. It's serves with sticky rice and honestly it works really well. - Mac & Cheese - A bit heavy on the pepper. It was alright not my favorite mac and cheese. - South Carolina Pork Hash - a unique side that is special to them. Pork Gravy over jasmine rice. Too mushy for me. - Lemon Kale Slaw - It was alright. Not my favorite slaw. - Banana Pudding - Yummy. I really like their banana pudding. It had a slight cinnamon and almost graham cracker taste to it. - House made bread - Yummy. Almost like a sweet roll meets white bread. We went on a rainy Friday morning. Arrived at 9:30 ish, got our food and seated by 12:30 ish. Asked the dude first in line what time he got there and he said 7:30ish. People abandon their lawn chairs so they had a decent amount near the entrance of the store that people just borrow while they're waiting. When the rain got bad, they let customers wait in the covered area where they store the smokers which was nice.

Nice small food park in Dalworthington Gardens/Central Arlington…read more I just happened by on a Monday but the trucks were in hibernation mode. I came back on early Saturday evening after a nice cooling rain. It was pleasantly not crowded. I got a couple of empanadas from one truck and a couple of smash burgers from another. Both items were delicious. When I go back, I want to try something from the hibachi grill. I got an Oakcliff smashburger and my son enjoyed a Dallas. We loved our burgers. You could tell they were made fresh with chunks of avocado and bacon for me! The empanadas were good if a bit small. The dough pocket could have been premade, so I'll have to try something else from that food truck. That's the beauty and draw of a food truck park as pi your able to try have what you want and still eat together! I hope people come out and give this place a try. Come check it out, they got something for nearly everybody!
