checked out Goldee's Barbecue on a Saturday around 12:05 p.m., and there was definitely a line, but not as bad as I expected. It wrapped a bit around the building, and seeing stacks of camping chairs told me people had been there early. Still, we got through the line and had food in about an hour. Quick tip, I saw someone on Reddit suggest getting there around 1:30 p.m., and honestly that is the move. By the time we were seated, the line had dropped to just a few people, and when we left around 2 p.m., there was no line at all. We even walked right back up to grab merch with zero wait. They still had almost everything too, only the mac and cheese was sold out. Now the food was absolutely worth it. Our full spread was about $84, which felt super reasonable for the quality and amount. Brisket was insanely tender and moist, it just melts. Pork belly was the star for me, rich and juicy, and paired with this light almost jam like sauce that cuts the fat perfectly. The jalapeño cheese sausage was probably the best I have ever had. The Lao sausage was super fragrant with lemongrass and garlic, really unique and flavorful. They also give you sticky rice, which was so good, and free water bottles. They even threw in a free sausage for us, which was a really nice touch. Overall everything was dialed in, from the food to the experience. I would 100 percent come back. Just time it right and you can skip the long wait.

I wish I could rate this place 5 stars to the moon. It's the best bbq you can find in the DFW area! Easy to find parking but it's a long wait and you will want to get here incredibly early. We showed up an hour before opening and waiting for 2.5 hours. Sunscreen, umbrella, bring them! There are seats in case you want to sit down. I had Banana pudding - I'm so proud of them I loved the crumby parts. I got 3! Brisket baked beans were fantastic, no mistakes were had here. Lemon kale slaw salad - I desperately needed a salad with all the meat I got, haha! I wish I got a second one cuz that was sooo refreshing. Brisket - moist, smoky, salt and pepper, and the meat was soft enough to melt in your mouth. They nailed the brisket to be the best it can be! The "avashar" sausage - pork lamb beef with chives garlic mustard seeds nutmeg. This is a new(?) specialty sausage was a hole run with the variety of flavors melting with the fat. Jalapeno cheddar sausage (Tillamook cheese) - I'm biased I always go for a jalapeno cheddar sausage and I love it. House sausage - mustard seed, garlic, black pepper also delivered. I didn't expect to always want mustard seed in my sausage after this! Overall, I come back here for special occasions for friends visiting since it's a long wait. I love the sausages the most and their sweets. The rest are the best versions of themselves and I praise them for the outstanding bbq! Eat here in a cute cabin like home.

If you are in DFW area, this is something you have to experience at least once. We took a Friday off work , set our alarms, and got in line around 7:45 AM. We brought folding chairs and a cooler with adult beverages. The set up is actually well thought out with portable toilets and a hand washing station so you're comfortable while you wait. While in line, we met BBQ lovers from all over. The closer you are to the front, the better the show. You get a front row view of those massive smokers, watching them tend the fire and add wood and load in the meats. It's BBQ theater! Around 11 AM, someone comes out and explains what's on the menu that day. This is when you should lock in your order. I'll explain why later. They lead in small groups at a time, which is honestly genius. It keeps things moving while giving people time to order and find a seat in the small dining area. When you walk in, it all hits you. The smell, the energy, the sound of butcher paper being unwrapped. It is a full on sensory overload. My mouth is watering, my brain was trying to keep up, and suddenly remembering my order felt like high high-pressure!! Here's how it works, you tell one person your order, they shouted down the line eventually to the cashier and everything moves fast. We thought we had it together, but in the chaos, we got charged for four ribs we never received. Lesson learned, know your order and check your tray. What we did get was incredible that included a massive Dino rib, slices of brisket, two kinds of sausage, turkey and several sides. The mac & cheese is a must. Plus they include plenty of their homemade white bread. I won't ruin it by saying more about the food. Let's just say that there is a reason they earned a Michelin star. This wasn't just a meal, it was a whole experience.

I've been hearing about Goldee's for years! The keep getting called "the best barbecue in Texas," "maybe the best anywhere." I've made excuses, missed chances, and built it up in my head to a level that almost felt impossible to live up to. Today, I finally made the trip. And somehow, it still exceeded every expectation. I'll admit, I'm not someone who hands out 4- or 5-star reviews easily. I tend to nitpick. I look for flaws. But let me be clear upfront: this is not just the best barbecue I've ever had and it might be the best food I've had, period. I showed up about two hours before opening on Easter Sunday and was shocked to find the line relatively short, around 15 people ahead of me. The atmosphere alone was worth the wait. The pit crew was already outside working the smokers, chatting with guests, and setting the tone. Everyone, staff and customers alike made the time fly by. Once doors opened, I was ordering within about 15 minutes. Now, the food. The brisket was unreal. A perfect bark, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and so juicy it almost didn't make sense. The flavor was deep, balanced, and unforgettable. The house special sausage? Easily the best sausage I've ever had. Snappy casing, rich seasoning, and just an incredible depth of flavor. The pork belly and turkey were just as impressive both insanely juicy and cooked to absolute perfection. It's rare to see that level of consistency across every meat, but Goldee's delivers. Sides are often an afterthought at barbecue joint, but not here. The mac & cheese was rich and perfectly cooked. The potato salad was exactly what you want it to be, dialed in with no shortcuts. The kale salad added a fresh, flavorful contrast, and the housemade bread tied everything together beautifully. The only minor hiccup: my pulled pork and potato salad were initially missing from my tray. But as soon as I mentioned it, the staff corrected it immediately no hassle, no attitude, just great service. At this level of quality, that's barely a footnote. Goldee's isn't just living up to the hype, it's redefining it. I genuinely don't know how barbecue gets better than this. Five stars, without hesitation.

As a visitor who has heard about the hype of Goldees, I read up on the reviews beforehand and prepared as much as I can with the two hour wait. Our group got there at 8 AM (just in case) and they provide chairs for folks to sit. They open at 11 AM but we were already 10th in line when we got there. Parking fills up so expect to walk further the later your arrival time. Porta potties are available to use as you wait. They are also only open from 11 AM to 3 PM (or until sold out) on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays! Depending on the time of year, it could get chilly so bring a jacket or something to wrap yourself around. As we were waiting, we could smell the barbecue smoke and that only made the anticipation build even more. This place is truly a transformative food moment. The hype is deserved! While turkey may not have been the intended star of the show, it was for me. It was tender and melted in my mouth. Our group got a little bit of everything from the brisket to the pork belly to the ribs. The pickled onions with the pork belly is just chef's kiss and I usually don't add sauce to the meat because I'm a purist that thinks meat should hold its own. Now, I understand how sauce could enhance and bring out the flavors of the meat and be sweet at the same time! If there is one thing I may pass up on the next time, it's the sausage. I would also probably get more pork belly and more turkey. The ribs were okay but not as mind blowing as the other two. I was generally so happy eating that I could sleep then and there from pure bliss. Service was incredible. They went above and beyond for us and took photos. The banter is truly indicative of that Southern hospitality where everyone feels like family and they helped us pack everything up to go because there was no way we could finish. To go containers are available and no separate checks so plan this out beforehand if you have a larger party.

It's real... 3 hrs later lol

I'll give it a five stars because everything was great. They ran out of a few items by the time we reached of them. The people working there were so friendly so great to give us some updates of what's left on the menu. The the staff was awesome. I would like to come here again, but my family that I came with said it's a one and done for them. They would rather go to Daynes combined at all because I do love Daynes Bbq. Send it outside they give you chairs so you can sit in line. They also provide water and sometimes beer. Just be careful when the wind picks up the dust from the parking lot I'm straight at you. Small seating area inside a little bit on the outside. All in all great experience. Thanks for all who keep this establishment running beautiful place great barbecue.

Ok I heard some people complaining about the two hour wait. Well, all I can say is pack a little cooler, bring a chair and sit your butt in that chair because when that two hour wait is up you are going to be amazed at how good this food really is. Look folks this gig has a Michelin star attached to it, and for those of you who don't know what that is look it up and you can see it's a big deal. This barbecue is well worth the wait. Next time I'm in Fort Worth I know I'm coming here again. And I will be prepared for a two hour wait and you should too! Also be prepared for the food explosion that is going to blow your mind away. In plain talk this place is just YUMMY! Come here and eat to your heart's content and your stomach will thank you! So will your brain. You'll be happy, and after all, don't you want to be happy! Come here and get it done. In health and happiness! Cheers!

I've been saving my "this is the best BBQ I've ever had" for this moment. I've tried so many spots in Texas and none of them truly wowed me and I was told that I probably " Don't even like BBQ". But this one... was SO damn good. The sides were a 100/10, and I loved that they were unique instead of the typical BBQ sides. The cheesy grits were awesome! The brisket was incredibly tender and melted in your mouth, and the sausage was packed with flavor. To top it all off, we had the banana pudding, which left me speechless and wanting more I definitely recommend coming here if you want some damn good BBQ. I also want to add that I don't like to overuse compliments when it comes to food unless I truly mean it.

I've eaten at a lot of Texas barbecue joints and Goldee's is in my top tier! I was worried it would be overhyped after getting number 1 on the Texas Monthly's Top 50 BBQ Joints list in 2021 but it still blew me away! Highly recommend getting a full spread to try all their offerings... especially after waiting in line (which is totally worth it by the way). FAST FACTS: * Parking - decent size lot in front of the building with free parking * Open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm (or sold out) * Porta potties available to use while waiting in line * Cooler with free water (and sometimes beer) available while waiting in line * Assorted lawn chairs available to sit in while waiting in line (but many are broken so you might want to bring your own) * Order meats first and sides and desserts * No separate checks * Sauce is available on the tables * To-go containers available to pack up leftovers We arrived around 8:00 am (3 hours before opening) on a Saturday morning and were about 15th in line. We were in the door ordering 5 minutes after opening and were seated at a table with our food by 11:10 am. SERVICE - The workers are all super pleasant and friendly! They make conversation with you while taking your order and preparing the food. There's also a worker helping you find a table and clearing trays as groups finish. Couldn't ask for anything else! PRICING - The total was $79.57.11 after tax ($6.07) but before tip for 1/2 pound of brisket ($18), 1/4 pound of pork ribs ($7.50), 1/4 pound of turkey ($7.50), 1/4 pound of pork belly ($7.50), 2 sausages ($7 each), 2 small sides ($6 each), and a bread pudding ($7). House made bread, pickles, onions, and sauce are complimentary. The pricing is right in line with other barbecue places in Texas and is reasonable considering the quality of food you get. BRISKET (10/10) - This is some of my favorite brisket in Texas (along with Franklin's and Interstellar)... it's incredibly juicy, it's seasoned well with salt and pepper, the bark is flavorful without being overpowering, and the smoke ring is visible. They give you a mixture of lean and moist/fatty unlike some places where you can request one or the other or both but it keeps it so everyone can enjoy all the cuts which is fair. PORK RIBS (9/10) - Again, these were amazing! They're tender but don't completely fall off the bone which is exactly what I like. They're seasoned well and they only charged us for 1/4 pound even though the 2 ribs were slightly over. TURKEY (8/10) - Turkey is never going to be the star of the show at a BBQ place (nor should it be) but this was delicious for being turkey! It was juicy and had a nice smokey flavor to it. PORK BELLY (8/10) - Better than most BBQ places but not my favorite I've ever had... It's served in thick slices and is very fatty and salty but that's to be expected with pork belly. However, the glaze that's served on the side for dipping is phenomenal and adds a delicious sweetness! SAUSAGE (9/10) - Both the house sausage and the jalapeño cheese sausage are phenomenal! The pork casing has a nice snap to it and the texture of the meat inside is ideal... you can tell it's made in house. POTATO SALAD (8/10) - It's a basic potato salad but done right. It's a more mustard-forward potato salad with a good mixture of bigger potato chunks and mashed bits. CHEESY GRITS (8/10) - I love grits and these were pretty great! They're cheesy as described and had the perfect texture for grits. I almost wish there was another flavor added in like jalapeños or something with a little spice but these were still grits done right. BREAD PUDDING (9/10) - It has their house made bread which is so soft and delicious! It's gooey and has the perfect level of sweetness which is a great compliment after all the salty and savory meats! BREAD, PICKLES, ONIONS, AND SAUCE (8/10) - The bread is made in house and is soft and delicious! The pickles and onions are good but obviously don't steal the show. The BBQ sauce has the perfect balance of vinegar, sweet, and smoke. This was my first time at Goldee's and I'm happy to report that it's 100% worth the hype! If you are a BBQ snob and haven't been to Goldee's, you're missing out. In my opinion, they do the basics right... there isn't anything super innovative or unique (although the house made bread is a nice touch) but they nail it across the board with all of the meats and sides. Nothing was disappointing, the pricing is reasonable, and the service was impeccable. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the Dallas/Fort Worth area!

    Literally everything on their menu

Look, I'd love to say "Don't wait in this crazy line; you can get good Texas BBQ at other spots anywhere," but unfortunately Goldee's completely blew my sky high expectations away even after I hyped it up in my brain for months and stood in line for 2 hours. Popped in line with some friends on a Friday morning just before 10:30 AM and was honestly pretty worried that they might sell out of items, but we got inside to order just around 12:30 PM with everything still available. I will say that they ran out of beef ribs just 2 people behind us, but hopefully that's a helpful data point for non-morning folks trying to plan their visits. My friends and I tried pretty much everything on their menu and it's literally all amazing. Beef rib and brisket just melt in your mouth and super smokey. Pork belly with the pickled onions is possibly the best bite I've ever had in my entire life. Their turkey (seriously?? turkey??) is so juicy and flavorful, I would swear on my life they replaced it with ham. I'm a BBQ sauce hater and even their sauce blew me away - perfect balance of tangy and a little sweet. The pork ribs, sausages, and banana pudding were also great, but just a rung below, so if you have to skip something I'd pass on those. Service is also incredible, which is no easy feat with an endless line out the door. When you finally get to the front, they give you burnt ends as a little thank you for waiting and after of a bit of banter, they even gave us extra pork ribs and sausage on the house! This is now just a crazy obnoxious review, but I genuinely dream about the food here and I can't wait to be back. 10 stars.

The number one Texas BBQ, does it live up to the hype? Goldee's only open 3 days a week and people show up early to line up for their Texas classics! I got there around 9am and the line was already wrapped around twice. They provide water and chairs so you're not dehydrated under the sun. They take care of their customers and I waited roughly 2&half hours. The menu is simple -- nothing fancy, nothing extra, just pure Texas classics done right. And if you're lucky enough to come on a Sunday, do not skip the bread pudding. It's a must-order and it disappears fast. Love the vibes here and the food and especially their bread pudding. I still miss it till this day. But would I wait again? Probably not because I was only in Dallas for 48 hours. If I had more time, then I would come back.

It's a good spot with decent bbq--a solid 3.5. We came an hour before opening and there was easily 100+ people in front of us. Not an issue--I'm no stranger to waiting in line for good bbq (it's the Texas way). They have coolers filled with water so it doesn't make the wait too bad. Ended up waiting a total of 3 hours--that being said, I don't know if I'd necessarily wait that long again. Ordered 1lb of brisket, 1lb pork ribs, 2 different links of sausage, banana pudding, bread pudding (Sundays only), and cheesy grits. All good--but nothing that made go "wow! That was worth the wait." Was sad to find out that the Lao sausage was just a special/April timeframe cuz that's really was what made us want to try this place out. Unfortunately some items I wanted to try were sold out JUST as we got to the front of the line (pork belly, brisket beans) but not a big deal. The major downside for me was you can't choose the type of brisket you want. I'm not a huge lean brisket girlie and we ended up getting only 1 slice of the fatty and the rest was lean. If you live close by/got relatives who want to try it--I'd see the appeal of coming. Otherwise, Texas has so many great BBQ places that you don't need to go out of your way for a place that requires such a long wait time.

We waited in line for hours on a Friday to try Goldee's. I think it was actually the Fourth of July. It was hot outside, I was pregnant, and I had just found out I have gestational diabetes, but we were in Fort Worth during Goldee's hours of operation and we had really wanted to try it, so there we were. This kind of super long wait to try a restaurant is never fun but Goldee's tried to make it a bit less uncomfortable by providing folding chairs, free water, and I think they also might've had free beer. We made it to the front of the line and saw that the ordering process is quite slow. If Goldee's is at all interested in investing in becoming more efficient, I would start here. Anyway, we were able to place our order and find some seating inside. The BBQ was good, but for my husband and me, it did not justify the long wait. While I enjoyed everything, nothing especially stood out as like life changing. We normally go to Hutchins and we felt like our BBQ itch can be scratched just fine by continuing to go to Hutchins. I really should have written this review sooner but I think we liked the brisket a lot, the turkey and the ribs were decent, and we didn't love the sausage. The one thing that I enjoyed more than I anticipated was the kale slaw. It provided a nice refreshing contrast to the rich meats. The beans were not my favorite. I'm really glad we tried this place while we could (I can't imagine waiting that long with our 2 month old), but we are not up for that wait again. If we like happened to be in the area and swung by and there was no wait, we'd be happy to eat at Goldee's again, but I won't be signing up for that long wait anytime soon.

Brisket - we didn't get a fatty piece which I liked because it allowed me to not get full easily Sichuan Lamb Ribs - softest lamb I have ever had (that wasn't in a curry) and the rub on it was not only the perfect amount but a perfect blend Tandoori Turkey - this was really moist and not spicy, great choice for those who do not like red meat Seekh Kabob Sausage - the casing was well done and the flavor profile wasn't overpowering, sometimes desi spices can overtake the meat and that was not the case here (no pun intended) Kochumber salad - well seasoned and I am so glad it is on the menu because you need a fresh element to palate cleanse and cut through bbq fat They open at 11am and the line started forming 10:30am, it moves at a good pace. We were also instructed with what's on the menu and the parking situation which I thought was professional and well organized. We found some seating in the area next to the truck.

"Sabar BBQ: Where the lamb ribs made me want to high five a stranger."…read more TL;DR: Get there early, order the Sichuan Lamb Ribs, let Zain carve you a plate of happiness, and prepare to have your taste buds do a Texas two-step with Pakistani spices. Worth every minute of the wait. This one's climbing my top 50 list faster than a brisket disappears at a family reunion. After one failed mission to Sabar BBQ, where I showed up too late and found an empty pit (and an emptier stomach), I came back like a man on a barbecue pilgrimage. The sun was blazing, the line was growing, and I wasn't about to be left holding nothing but a napkin this time. Pitmaster Zain Shafi runs this blue trailer like a flavor command center. The smell hit me halfway through the line and had me grinning like a kid at the state fair. I made my move when it was my turn, and if you know me, you know lamb is my kryptonite. I ordered the Sichuan Lamb Ribs, then couldn't stop myself from adding brisket and Tandoori Turkey. The sides? Kachumber Salad and Daal Chawaal, because even Uncle Sean needs balance in life. Zain loaded everything up, tossed it all on top of some naan for good measure, and sent me to my table like a champion headed to the winner's circle. The first bite of lamb ribs nearly had me proposing to the pit. Spicy, tender, smoky perfection with a bark that made my heart sing. The brisket was rich and juicy, the turkey came with that tandoori kick that slapped me awake in the best way possible. The sauces just tied the whole thing together like a big barbecue hug. The yogurt mint cilantro sauce was made to cool and lift the brisket and turkey to a whole new level. The red sauce packed a punch and paired with the lamb like it was born for the job. I boxed up some leftovers for my wife, the Side Dish Queen herself, because a man who doesn't bring home naan from Sabar BBQ is a man sleeping on the couch. She confirmed what I already knew: this was next-level barbecue, the kind that earns legends and long lines. Sabar BBQ is only open on weekends, and only fools show up late. I won't make that mistake again. This was stop number 15 on my Texas Monthly Top 50 journey, leaving me with 35 more glorious BBQ pilgrimages ahead before the passport is full and my belt officially waves the white flag. If loving these lamb ribs is wrong, I don't wanna be rib-right.

With a bit more seasoning and flavor, the sides could be the hit of the location, and this I think will come with time and practice. Tried the greens (little bland, but wonderful texture), Mac and Cheese (actually seasoning was spot on), and beans (with meat...meh). The greens and MC were the hits for sure. Brisket was on the dry side, maybe overcooked, and could have used some better trimming before cooking I think. Did not try sausages or chicken, but both looked appetizing. They are still dialing in their pits is my guess, and expect cook quality to improve with a time. Quality of meat may also be worth considering. Overal, Brown's is definitely worth a visit, and as they find their groove they could be a contender. Right now would put them at a fair 3.5 stars, but the energy, great attitude (smiles means repeat business), and great beginnings is worthy of 4 stars even now, and a welcome addition to the neighborhood!

I came back on early Saturday evening after a nice cooling rain. It was pleasantly not crowded. I got a couple of empanadas from one truck and a couple of smash burgers from another. Both items were delicious. When I go back, I want to try something from the hibachi grill. I got an Oakcliff smashburger and my son enjoyed a Dallas. We loved our burgers. You could tell they were made fresh with chunks of avocado and bacon for me! The empanadas were good if a bit small. The dough pocket could have been premade, so I'll have to try something else from that food truck. That's the beauty and draw of a food truck park as pi your able to try have what you want and still eat together! I hope people come out and give this place a try. Come check it out, they got something for nearly everybody!

The explanation given that the system "couldn't handle the wind" is deeply concerning. If awnings advertised and installed for cold weather cannot be safely used in windy conditions, that is a serious operational and safety issue that should be addressed before guests are seated underneath them. Instead, customers were left exposed, freezing, and ignored. What made this worse was not the weather, but the complete lack of accountability or alternative solutions. No effort to relocate guests, no escalation to management, just repeated refusal. This reflects poor planning and even worse customer care. Management should take this seriously. I would expect someone to reach out, because this experience alone is enough to keep us and others from returning.

Ribs were good but looked oddly brown - maybe put in a steamer? Smoked turkey was okay - tender and not overly smoky. Potato salad was bland, Cole slaw was even more bland. Pinto beans were surprisingly good! We asked about bread after getting our food and were told bread comes with a meat dinner. Oops! They would get it - but didn't and we then asked again just for the principle of it all. When the rolls came, cold, hard and not worth even a bite. Everyone working there was polite and attentive. ( One note- the trivia music was SO loud you couldn't hear or talk comfortably.) Probably not worth repeating. Oh, and we were only one of two tables eating.

We all agreed that our dishes lacked flavor in one way or another. The brisket & pulled pork were cooked well but had no seasoning, the salsa tasted like blended veggies but was missing salt or cilantro or something- anything!, and the elote was drowning in butter. The BBQ sauce Sweet Baby Ray's, which is fine, but don't label it as your BBQ sauce and then give me SBR with my to-go order. There is a housemade glaze that we all thought was very odd - had a strong raisin/date flavor and it was sweet. The only things we could think of that it might taste good on were something sweet like a cinnamon roll, or maybe to glaze a ham. I tried it with the pulled pork and didn't love it. Overall, our meal was fine, but completely forgettable.
