So had to do a follow up on the first and second reviews for consistency. Dayne's has consistently been on point no matter what I've ordered. Definitely in the my top 5 in the state. Continuing to add a fun variety of tasty sides and execution of those has been legit (lumpia or lumpia Shanghai). A TX BBQ twist on Filipino version of a pork filled egg roll. The pork belly was really good as well, prefer the beef burnt ends personally but really good nonetheless. I was last one in and last one out on this day so hard to grade service as they were cleaning up. read more

I have been wanting to visit Dayne's bbq since it came out on the Texas monthly top 50 barbecue joints of Texas. We had the chance to visit it yesterday for a Friday afternoon lunch They were moderately full, but the service was reasonably quick, with the staff being pleasant and helpful. Unlike most barbecue joints, their menu is totally à la carte. While they do run special meats or dishes for a month or so, they do not have a daily special on the menu. There are no 2 or 3 meat plate specials in other words. We ordered 1/2 pound of the turkey, a "Beefy Texan" sausage along with a side of the "Frito pie beans" The turkey was very tasty and moist. It's amazing what happens to Turkey when you cook it in a pound of butter. The sausage was good, not dry not too spicy. Good. With the beans, it was kind of hard to tell just how good they are. This was a serving of pinto beans, topped with shredded cheese and then topped with chili cheese Fritos and jalapeños with creamers. It kind of works. It was very tasty. It was also kind of a surprise as I was not told about the chili cheese part. We also got some brisket to try and again it was very good exactly what you would expect for a good barbecue place in Texas. It was well smoked, it had a delicious bark And was very tender Overall, we found Dayne's to be to be a good BBq restaurant. As a plus it was easy to get to. A true hidden gem in the quiet town of Aledo. We have been to a few places in Texas whenever we come to visit, and this is definitely a contender for the top spot! Ordered the Trinity, the OG burger, and a pulled pork sandwich. The jalapeño sausage, and brisket were Divine! The OG burger was also really tasty. And we loved the mac and cheese and street corn sides. The pork sandwich was a bit on the dry side but still good. Lots of room to sit both inside and outside. Expect to wait in line awhile, and service was just ok here. When I was ordering the cashier kept cutting me off. Overall the service wasn't terrible, but nothing really stood out about it either. I love Dayne's and I'm still sad they moved out of Fort Worth and to Aledo. I've been coming since they were at Lola's followed them to Camp Bowie and now Aledo! We came on a Friday for the lunch and thankfully the line wasn't out the door but was after we got there!! We came for the OG Burgers, we love these, they are the best!! Other local bbq jts do their own burgers now but nothing compares to Dayne's!!! The Frito beans are the best side, love em!! We checked this place out for lunch recently and it was really good. Dayne's has been on our list for a while and we finally found a day to check it out for lunch. We tried the "Fort Worth the Wait" platter. We added a Holy Voodoo sausage link, beef bacon, and the lumpia to try a little bit of everything. We also tried the banana bourbon delight. For sides, we had everything expect the broccoli grape salad. The amount of food we got for the price, was very reasonable. Everything was flavorful. The sausage was the group's favorite, then the brisket, beef bacon, turkey, pulled pork, and ribs. The customer service was excellent. Might be the best bbq I have ever had and I am 54 years old! It was myself, my wife and our 30 year old son and we had the platter that was $95. We took a lot of food home. This easily could have fed 1-2 more people. Brisket would just melt in your mouth. All of the meats were outstanding. My favorite side was the Mac and cheese but wife loved the street corn. Saw Dayne's coming in at #7 on the Texas Monthly list so drove the hour and 15 mins from Frisco with the family to check it out. Heard so much about the OG Burger that I had to give it a shot. The burger alone could warrant a 5 star review. Wife and I both said may be the best burger we've ever eaten Ordered the BBQ "Trinity" as well. Brisket amazing, ribs solid, and had the two sausages offered. Both what I expect from a high end spot. Sides wise, I'm a cole slaw guy and enjoyed their version. Driving around Texas eating BBQ on the Texas Monthly Top 50 list. Arrived at Dayne's Craft Barbecue early on a Friday as husband and I wanted to eat a couple of the kolaches and then wait for the BBQ. The kolaches are fresh, delicious and some of the best we have ever eaten. They have a nice large parking area. You walk inside are greeted by a smiling employee. We ordered, ate and talked to several people that work and run this great Barbecue place. While waiting to order BBQ one of the employees was walking around giving out a few free breakfast tacos! Wow, what a treat. When we finally ordered our food we got food to eat there and food to bring back home. The Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ List takes you to places you can't even pronounce, and while on a trek to Dallas, I made an intentional stop in Aledo, Texas, to try Dayne's Craft Barbecue. This was my first trek to Dallas since May, and since I was locked in on my Texas Monthly passport, I knew I had to stop at one of the heavy hitters before attending a wedding with my girlfriend. Outside, Dayne's has plenty of space, with grass lots available if worse came to worst. For arriving at 11:40 am, there was still plenty of parking. There was a train track right next door, so if you're coming from I-20, be warned of the tracks. There was a small line, which is expected for a top 10 BBQ joint on a Friday. There was only one cashier, probably to help filter the people eating and the people waiting to get their food because it was pretty filled inside. The cashier was extremely welcoming and helped us decide what sausage link to get, with this week's black pepper brat special being an easy pick for him. Having been driving from Austin on an empty stomach, I was pretty hungry, but all things considered, it only took about 30 minutes from getting in line to getting my food. It's pretty efficient, and we immediately got a table after ordering. Yes The server was even more welcoming than the cashier as he brought us our food. He explained everything about the restaurant, from their traditional red BBQ sauce to their special Carolina gold sauce that had a Texas twist to it. Everything looked incredible on the tray, and I'll share my thoughts on everything. Brisket: I ordered a fatty piece of their brisket, and it was heavenly. The Carolina gold sauce definitely added extra flavor, but the brisket was already super flavorful and almost melted in my mouth. Black Pepper Brat: Their weekly special brat for 10/3 was easily one of the best sausages I've had on this journey so far. It was almost Cajun-like with its pepper base, but the sausage itself was super flavorful and juicy. I'm the most impressed by this. Pork Ribs: Not my favorite ribs from this journey, but they fall off the bone and are very well seasoned. They were a little too smoky for my liking, but my girlfriend seemed to really enjoy them. Apple Slaw: I've had many slaws in my life but have never been huge on it until I had Dayne's apple slaw. It's the right mix of crispness from cabbage to the juiciness of an apple. I'm super pleased with this. Frito Pie Beans: These beans were compact. Some beans can be a little juicy, but these Frito Pie beans topped with Fritos, crema, and jalapeños were so incredible and were destroyed by the two of us. Flamin' Hot Street Corn: This is the second BBQ joint I've been to that added Flamin' Hot Cheeto dust to a side, and I can say that it pairs better with this corn than with macaroni. I demolished it on my own with no help from my girlfriend. I hope she was okay with the one bite she had. My fault. Dayne's is one of those barbecue restaurants that feel integral to the city. Though tourists like myself might come through for their stamps and to try a high-ranking joint, the typical patrons are Aledo residents eating at their hometown BBQ joint, and the love that Dayne and company put into this makes me jealous of the almost 6.7k residents who can swing by almost any day of the week. When we arrived around 10:30 AM on a Saturday, there were no parking spots along the entire first row (there are other parking spaces farther away). The line was only a few people out of the door, so we were inside ~10 minute after arriving but it took about 35 minutes in the inside line before we were able to order. The surprising part was that it took an additional 25 minutes before our food was finally ready (total time waited = 60 minutes). There were no seats inside after we ordered, but people were sitting down waiting on food. Even though they have devices on the tables to keep away flies, there are still lots of flies landing all over your tray of food. They have all the typical meats and sides along with a few fun choices. The fried bologna melt was a fun one, but ultimately not that interesting. The OG burger is a must. The sides were decent. The meat was good. The brisket is pretty salty. The bacon brisket is basically all fat. The pork ribs were very good. The pulled pork was some of the best pulled pork I've had. The turkey was lovely (and made such good turkey leftovers to eat as a cold cut the next day). In Arlington for a concert with my teen daughter, I knew I had to get some stamps on my Texas Monthly BBQ passport. Aledo was not too far east, so I planned that as our stop after commuting from Houston. My daughter seemed apprehensive claiming she really wasn't a huge fan of bbq. I've been a fan of Dayne's since they were a food truck serving amazing BBQ in Fort Worth. Now I drive over an hour from Anna to Aledo to get my fix! My favorite item on the menu is the OG Burger. Everything about this burger just hits all the right notes on your taste buds. Fresh meat, greasy cheese and all the fixings pressed between a sesame bun make it one of my favorite burgers of all time. And trust when I say I've had my share of burgers across the country. However, you can't go wrong with your traditional BBQ plate either. Their brisket and Beefy Texan sausage are also a must in my household. We also enjoy the beans, sans the frito pie part (picky kid!), Mac n cheese, and their desserts always hit. Overall, you can't go wrong. My kids even love their grilled cheese sandos! A friend and his son were driving across country to move from CA to VA and wanted to come visit us because we hadn't seen them since my husband and I moved to TX two years ago. Our friend hadn't been to TX before either so we thought we could make his short stay as Texan as possible so we took them to the #7 ranked BBQ according to Texas magazine -- Dayne's Craft BBQ. We got there a little after opening on a Sunday. There was a line, but it wasn't going out of the door. My friend's son was hoping for breakfast burritos, but they weren't serving any that day. So we ordered a Trinity Platter which consisted of 1/2 lb brisket, ribs, and 1 sausage link and 2 small sides (we chose Mac & cheese and the Fritos pie beans) We ordered an extra 1/2 lb of brisket and 1/2 lb of pulled pork. Then we searched for a table. Thankfully there were some tables outside under the covered patio, underneath an electric fan. It was hot, but not too hot (for TX). For our visitors, it was quite hot because they were coming from San Diego. Anyway, the food got there and it was absolutely beautiful, but also very delicious. I especially loved the sausage. It was their sausage of the week, a mix of berry and gouda. The combination of the sweet and savory and cheesy was a flavor explosion. I actually still think about it and it's almost a week later. As a Filipino, I love that their Friday special is smoked pork belly lumpia. I have yet to try that. Overall, wonderful food, great service. The lady in the front was so sweet to my friend's son. Wow - another great meal from Dayne's! We had to be in the area for an appointment and while we've had some of the food from Dayne's, my wife had never been "to" Dayne's. So today was the day. We arrive at about 11:45 on a Wednesday. The lot was nearly full and there was a decent line inside. As we got to the front door, Dayne and Ashley were sitting on a waiting bench outside on the front porch. Some entity was there taking their picture and later interviewing them and their staff. We got in line. It took about 10 minutes to make it to the ordering register. We ordered: - The Trinity Platter (with Mac and Cheese and Broccoli Grape Salad as sides) - Bourbon Banana Pudding dessert x 2 (to go) The food took about 10 minutes to prepare and was brought to our table. The server just followed the sound of the beep from the pager and called out my name. The food was great. - Pork Ribs: We especially enjoyed the pork ribs. So tender and flavorful. - Brisket: The brisket was equally good. - Sausage Link: I wasn't sure which of the 3 sausage choices to order as my wife had left the line to get seating, so I went the safe route and got the Texas Beef sausage. I really wanted the Havarti / Jalepno. Oh well - next time. The sausage was good. Definitely had a beefy flavor to it. - Mac and Cheese: Really nice Mac and Cheese. - Broccoli and Grape Salad: This was good, but surprising. Everything but the grapes are finely chopped, as in food processes chopped. Then the grapes were halved and folded in. Finally made it out to Dayne's Craft BBQ in Aledo, and it was absolutely worth the trip. Craft is the key word here--every detail feels intentional and expertly executed. We ordered the Trinity Platter ( 1/2 lb brisket, ribs, and one sausage link), then added the brisket bacon and sides: the famed Frito Pie Beans and red potato salad. Let's start with the meats--outstanding. Excellent cuts, smoked to perfection, beautifully rendered fat, and rubs that hit just right without overpowering the meat. Every bite was deeply satisfying. The ribs were tender and nearly melted off the bone, and the brisket bacon is something truly special--hands down better than any burnt ends or pork belly I've had elsewhere. The craftsmanship really shines in the sides. The Frito Pie Beans may be my new favorite BBQ side anywhere: rich pinto beans topped with melted cheese, chili Fritos, a drizzle of sour cream--and the magic touch--candied jalapeños that bring the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and heat. Absolute knockout. The red potato salad is another win. Potato salad can be hit or miss at BBQ joints, but this one is a definite hit--well-cooked potatoes, fresh dill, great texture, and just the right amount of mayo. Sauces aren't usually the focus in Texas BBQ, but their golden sauce deserves a mention. It's a unique yellow curry and vinegar blend that complements the meats beautifully without stealing the spotlight. The Texas beef sausage was fantastic--served on soft brioche that soaks up all those smoky juices. Add the red pickled onions and house-made pickles and it's perfection. While we were in Fort Worth for a karate event, my family who loves me took me out to eat. On the ride there, they kept saying how I might not like it. They were scared they hyped it up too much. When I hear people talk like this, it worries me. My cousin said it was state ranked...etc etc. I was like wow. This place turned into a classic disappointment. Let me state this. If an establishment has to offer gimmick food for sides, there is a problem. The broccoli grape salad was recommended so much, I thought I would be having the nectar of the Gods. Nope. It was just cold, I mean not temperature. It lacked seasoning. This is coleslaws less spicy, and equally unexciting and unnecessary side that doesn't need to exist. Think the cold broccoli salad at chicken salad chic, maybe worse. It doesn't get much better. At the best places, like burnt bean, snows, franklins, and heck even coopers, the brisket comes with this wonderful bark. It's a bark that is peppery and almost too salty but it works. This brisket had neither it, nor was it tender. The jalapeño cheese sausage was not spicy, and actually felt like the ratios were off. You know grainy. The sides felt more like carnival food. A truly GREAT place lets the meat talk, and has great classic sides! We did semi like the street corn. The pulled pork was ok. The turkey was actually our favorite item! Wow was it good. The rib was tough. We did appreciate the different sauces. If it's wasn't for heavy's in Hondo, I would say this would've been the biggest bbq disappointment ever. It's also pricey. I don't know who votes on the top bbq places if it's true that it's top ten in state. I would take coopers over this place any day. It's doesn't even belong in the same breath as burnt bean, snows, frankins...I don't recommend it. For us Fort Worth was a colossal disappointment for food. We stayed for almost a week and we didn't like any of it except one sushi place. We had to find a random hole in the wall bbq place on our way out to find a decent one. This place is great. Even though they're a BBQ place, I think their OG Burger is my favorite burger in DFW right now. The actual BBQ is also delicious - we've tried the sausage and brisket. Their sides aren't great IMO but when it comes to the meats they know what's up. Service is always very nice. I can't personally recommend the breakfast burritos/tacos - very heavy and greasy. Come during lunch before they run out of stuff and don't waste time filling up on sides, you'll be happy. read more

So it's GREAT that they open early BUT, they don't start their Q til 1030. So that was kind of a bummer. Since that was the case...kinda glad I was a little behind on getting there. Got there about 920a, thought guess I'll wait, maybe get to go, eat on road and while waiting in line for Goldee's. Ended up ordering the brisket burrito, good breakfast burrito, but wasn't what I was there for. I ended up eating the burrito and waiting til 1030 for them to start the lunch Q. Brisket shreds easily and has a good smoke to it and a good smoke ring like Q is supposed to. Ribs by itself are D-licious!!! Good evenly spread rub, fall off the bone meat. The apple coleslaw is amazing..super refreshing...I like the apple in it. Best coleslaw so far..almost same as KFC, and sorry to say that's my fav, so if you like KFC, you'll like theirs. Potato salad is good.. The people here are super friendly and seems like almost all Q spots are the friendliest...need to pass that love to other retailers read more

Great food. Super delicious meats cooked to perfection. Our favorite is brisket and pulled pork but have tried the rest and it's all great. Sides are very imaginative spin on many favorites. We love the beans and spicy corn but also head turn at the Cole slaw with crisp apples! It's order first then sweet people bring your food on trays. Barbecue Glory = Dayne's. Today's lunch search led us to Aledo, 20-30min SW of Fort Worth. How did we just find it?! You wait in a quick line to order, fill your tea/soda (or grab a beer/cocktail from the tiny bar), find a table, & your food is brought to you by the nicest staff. Meats by 1/4lb (brisket, turkey, bologna, brats, etc.), burgers, Q sandwiches... so much AND all so good. Sides are modern takes on slaw, potato salad, street corn, but the mac n cheese is something religious!!!!! Definitely worth a visit, but arrive hungry ;-) read more

Okay...I'll start by saying the food was good, not great, but the experience was horrible. Their website, google and every other website showed they opened at 7am. We tried to find out more information; what time to show up, is it full menu or select items, how long is the line at 8am, etc. We showed up around 7:45 on a Saturday. 1 person in front of us, we think we hit the jackpot. Get to the order station and my wife asks if everything on the chalkboard was gone, the cashier stated, "no, that's our list from yesterday." we also learned that at 7:45am on a Saturday that they only have BBQ Tacos and Burritos...the full menu was not available until later. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD TO PUT ON YOUR FRICKIN' WEBSITE!!! the website didn't even show tacos or burritos as an option. we were upset but decided to at least try a couple tacos, ordered a brisket taco, sausage taco and a barbacoa taco. the cashier stated they're out of barbacoa...yet it WASN'T on the chalkboard, but items from the previous day were. DO BETTER. food came, the brisket was good, cheese was cold and not melted at all. the tortilla was the worst tortilla in the history of soft tacos. it seemed like it was meant to be a fresh flour tortilla but cooked about 25% of the way. it was tough and doughy, NOT SOFT & FLUFFY. the sausage taco was a disappointment. it wasn't BBQ sausage links chopped up, it was breakfast sausage...NOWHERE did any sign mention this. I'm ordering a sausage taco at a bbq place and get breakfast sausage, not linked sausage...just be aware of you want to try the sausage taco. overall, bad experience...but the food wasn't horrible. we want to come back when they have a full menu and hope they make the additions to the menu about breakfast only before 11am and that the sausage taco is breakfast sausage, not link sausage. read more

The location was cool the food was really good not my favorite of all the bbq places I've been. (Snow, interstellar, Goldie's, pecan lodge, meat anywhere, saltlick, terry black) all around but the bacon brisket was unique to find here and the taste was spectacular. They have a great menu and I liked the ambiance of the restaurant. Service was great very friendly. Didn't try the burger, but was told that's what they do best. Next time. TOP TIER BBQ! Highlights: the best banana pudding ever and great meats. The Meats: The pulled pork has a perfectly seasoned rub that allows you to taste the spice and the smoke. Complete with a superior fat to meat ratio, this BBQ is perfectly juicy and bursting with flavor. The brisket bologna was so good. Sides: Mac and cheese is creamy with perfectly crunchy bread crumbs that add a very nice texture. Sauces: The red sauce is a go to for the pulled pork with a nice mild, somewhat sweet flavor. The mustard based sauce had a beautifully complex flavor that is like a Carolina mustard BBQ shaking hands with a German mustard. Dessert: the bourbon banana pudding was the best banana pudding I've ever had. It's a salted caramel drizzle on top with some butterscotch morsels in the middle and thick, creamy pudding on a base layer of Nila wafers. Service: super quick, very friendly cashier, and clean restaurant with outdoor seating. Very worth the drive from Fort Worth or Dallas. read more

The best BBQ hands down!!! We got the biggest plate for the 4 of us and left with lots of leftovers. There were 2 kinds of sausages. That was my least favorite of everything I ate. The brisket had a good bark on it as well as a ring. The flavor was great. The meat was moist. The cuts were good. The smoked turkey was moist. Had a good smoke flavor and it was plenty. The ribs were amazing. I don't know what they did but they were amazing. Did I say the ribs were amazing because they were amazing. The pulled pork had good flavor and moist. The sides were great. We had them all! I never had beans with Fritos but it worked! Broccoli salad with grapes were nice refreshing side. Mac n cheese was very cheesy. Red potato salad, good. Corn with hot Cheetos crushed on top had a nice kick. Apple coleslaw was great. We did have to wait about 45 minutes but there was a nice breeze. read more
