One of the best barbecue places we've ever tried. Thank you for a great barbecue. I'll definitely be visiting you soon. Another one for the record book!

Might be the best bbq I have ever had and I am 54 years old! It was myself, my wife and our 30 year old son and we had the platter that was $95. We took a lot of food home. This easily could have fed 1-2 more people. Brisket would just melt in your mouth. All of the meats were outstanding. My favorite side was the Mac and cheese but wife loved the street corn. Overall, I cannot rank it high enough. 5 out of 5 easy!!!

Dayne's has now become a staple in Aledo. Starting as a food truck I'm glad they found a home here. Their barbecue is obviously well-known and loved. But their desserts and sides are also not to be missed. Sometimes barbecue places have great barbecue but lack on the things that make them unique. Dayne's has a good mix of great barbecue, good sides, and monthly specials to keep you coming back. Glad to live near this go to.

This was my first time going to Dayne"s. I kept hearing about it and reading the BBQ rankings. It did not disappoint. The building itself is rustic and just screams BBQ. The cashier took his time explaining what they were know for and so did the other patrons in line. The OG burger was amazing and one of the best burgers I've had in the metroplex. The brisket was right up there with Franklin's. They had 3 different types of sausage and a great mustard based bbq sauce that went well with the turkey and pork. I will be back to try the beef ribs!

Everyone kept talking about Dayne's so we had to try it. Rated #7 on the Texas Top 50 BBQ and boy it did not disappoint. From walking in and being greeted, the burnt ends/brisket/hamburger and sides were easily some of the best food and service we have had. They earned a 5 star in our book! Great job all around Dayne's and team.

Im torn.....went there for our first time today, line moved OK, service was good....Got the brisket, ribs, pepper sausage, and an OG Burger all were cooked perfectly, not sure if what I received was a full 1LB of brisket or not but....I understand meat prices but $36 for 2 1/2 slices seems wrong.....the OG Burger is now my new favorite burger, damn its good....minus the sausage which I thought tasted weird and was too dense Id have given all the above a 5 star..... BUT, then there is this alternate universe where all their sides and single dessert lives....awful sides for the expensive tiny portions...very bland Mac n cheese, inedible elote, bland potato salad .....and the banana pudding for $8.50 should have been more than box pudding mixed with cool whip....no bananas, no cookies.....just...butterscotch chips?.....WTH? and only two sauce flavors, one was a Carolina sauce (this isnt Carolina and its weird tasting) and the second tasted like watered down ketchup with brown sugar and a drop of hot sauce in it.....not good Ive also never seen a BBQ place charge extra for pickle slices, onions or jalapeños on a $122 platter......you can rationalize meat prices, not pickles and onions would I go back?...probably not at their price points compared to quantities received....like I said meat prices are high enough why gouge us on all the little things as well this is what $122 gets ya 6 ribs 2 1/2 slices brisket (supposed to be a full LB)? burger 1 sausage link corn, Mac, potato salad 3 teas

Slaw, corn, brisket and pork brisket. Yep the OG burger.

Everything went really well. Excited to know this place in my backyard. Highly recommend, service was on point, food was well done and creative sides are the best I've had in awhile. The slaw cut the richness of the meats, corn adding some respectable heat, pickled onions a nice fresh touch, cool pickles probably home made $$. Cool little bbq joint that I'll frequent.

Decided to come here for lunch around 3:30 PM on a Saturday. I was surprised that it wasn't too busy and happy that the food hadn't run out. Ordered the burgers and brisket, and it was delicious. I'll have to come back to try the other items.

The Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ List takes you to places you can't even pronounce, and while on a trek to Dallas, I made an intentional stop in Aledo, Texas, to try Dayne's Craft Barbecue. This was my first trek to Dallas since May, and since I was locked in on my Texas Monthly passport, I knew I had to stop at one of the heavy hitters before attending a wedding with my girlfriend. Outside, Dayne's has plenty of space, with grass lots available if worse came to worst. For arriving at 11:40 am, there was still plenty of parking. There was a train track right next door, so if you're coming from I-20, be warned of the tracks. There was a small line, which is expected for a top 10 BBQ joint on a Friday. There was only one cashier, probably to help filter the people eating and the people waiting to get their food because it was pretty filled inside. The cashier was extremely welcoming and helped us decide what sausage link to get, with this week's black pepper brat special being an easy pick for him. Having been driving from Austin on an empty stomach, I was pretty hungry, but all things considered, it only took about 30 minutes from getting in line to getting my food. It's pretty efficient, and we immediately got a table after ordering. Yes The server was even more welcoming than the cashier as he brought us our food. He explained everything about the restaurant, from their traditional red BBQ sauce to their special Carolina gold sauce that had a Texas twist to it. Everything looked incredible on the tray, and I'll share my thoughts on everything. Brisket: I ordered a fatty piece of their brisket, and it was heavenly. The Carolina gold sauce definitely added extra flavor, but the brisket was already super flavorful and almost melted in my mouth. Black Pepper Brat: Their weekly special brat for 10/3 was easily one of the best sausages I've had on this journey so far. It was almost Cajun-like with its pepper base, but the sausage itself was super flavorful and juicy. I'm the most impressed by this. Pork Ribs: Not my favorite ribs from this journey, but they fall off the bone and are very well seasoned. They were a little too smoky for my liking, but my girlfriend seemed to really enjoy them. Apple Slaw: I've had many slaws in my life but have never been huge on it until I had Dayne's apple slaw. It's the right mix of crispness from cabbage to the juiciness of an apple. I'm super pleased with this. Frito Pie Beans: These beans were compact. Some beans can be a little juicy, but these Frito Pie beans topped with Fritos, crema, and jalapeños were so incredible and were destroyed by the two of us. Flamin' Hot Street Corn: This is the second BBQ joint I've been to that added Flamin' Hot Cheeto dust to a side, and I can say that it pairs better with this corn than with macaroni. I demolished it on my own with no help from my girlfriend. I hope she was okay with the one bite she had. My fault. Dayne's is one of those barbecue restaurants that feel integral to the city. Though tourists like myself might come through for their stamps and to try a high-ranking joint, the typical patrons are Aledo residents eating at their hometown BBQ joint, and the love that Dayne and company put into this makes me jealous of the almost 6.7k residents who can swing by almost any day of the week. I sent a picture of my tray to my dad, and his response shows how lucky I am to be at Dayne's: "You suck and I hate you." RIYL: Visiting cities you would never visit otherwise

Best: OG Burger and the side of broccoli and grape salad. Can skip: bacon brisket They open early! When we arrived around 10:30 AM on a Saturday, there were no parking spots along the entire first row (there are other parking spaces farther away). The line was only a few people out of the door, so we were inside ~10 minute after arriving but it took about 35 minutes in the inside line before we were able to order. The surprising part was that it took an additional 25 minutes before our food was finally ready (total time waited = 60 minutes). There were no seats inside after we ordered, but people were sitting down waiting on food. Even though they have devices on the tables to keep away flies, there are still lots of flies landing all over your tray of food. They have all the typical meats and sides along with a few fun choices. The fried bologna melt was a fun one, but ultimately not that interesting. The OG burger is a must. The sides were decent. The meat was good. The brisket is pretty salty. The bacon brisket is basically all fat. The pork ribs were very good. The pulled pork was some of the best pulled pork I've had. The turkey was lovely (and made such good turkey leftovers to eat as a cold cut the next day). Overall, good food if you're willing to wait in line and at the table an hour and drive outside of the city to Aledo.

In Arlington for a concert with my teen daughter, I knew I had to get some stamps on my Texas Monthly BBQ passport. Aledo was not too far east, so I planned that as our stop after commuting from Houston. My daughter seemed apprehensive claiming she really wasn't a huge fan of bbq. And as we came in, we saw that pork belly lumpia was a special but now unavailable. She asked me to order. So I did. A smoked bologna melt. Brisket. Broccoli and grape salad. Hot Cheetos street corn. And a cocktail from their convenient and cozy bar. From the moment she took her first bite of the bologna melt, Dayne's made my daughter a believer. She loved everything!!! She said it was worth drive and wanted to come back again. Dayne's, thank you for a terrific experience. She was right. Absolutely worth the drive.

I've been a fan of Dayne's since they were a food truck serving amazing BBQ in Fort Worth. Now I drive over an hour from Anna to Aledo to get my fix! My favorite item on the menu is the OG Burger. Everything about this burger just hits all the right notes on your taste buds. Fresh meat, greasy cheese and all the fixings pressed between a sesame bun make it one of my favorite burgers of all time. And trust when I say I've had my share of burgers across the country. However, you can't go wrong with your traditional BBQ plate either. Their brisket and Beefy Texan sausage are also a must in my household. We also enjoy the beans, sans the frito pie part (picky kid!), Mac n cheese, and their desserts always hit. Overall, you can't go wrong. My kids even love their grilled cheese sandos! If you're in Aledo, I'm jealous you live so close. And if you're not, make the drive. You will thank me later! Pro Tips: Grab a drink (in my case a DP or cold beer!) from the bar in the back to enjoy while you wait if there is a long line. Also, I was told they make OG burgers everyday now and have upped the quantity, so they rarely sell out. ENJOY!

I am going to try to be positive... its gonna be tough. Service issues... 1) 30 minute line that should have been a 10 minute line. Slow due to no urgency by the staff. 2) my food arrived at the table by the waiter so late that my table was done eating. The manager offered to refund my money but I refused. I explained the issue and I let it go. Food wise... very good but I was annoyed and over it by the time my food came.

Anyway... A friend and I stopped in just a few minutes after they opened mid-week and were very disappointed. That an the fact that the young lady we followed in the door was on her first day as a server EVER didn't help. The bbq that we were served look as though it had been pulled out of the refrigerator and put in the steam table just minutes before we ordered. Both of our plates of food were cold and the meat was an unappetizing gray color. My friend's order was screwed up, probably because the new girl had zero idea of what her duties were or what the menu combinations were made up of. We heard her introduce herself to the cashier as the new server and she was turned our way to take the order with no idea of what she was doing, no idea of what was on the menu, etc. Flavor was unimpressive and honestly I was so put off by the whole situation that I didn't even make a stink. I just paid and left the plate of food. I know this place gets some decent reviews and maybe our visit was an anomoly, but I won't be giving them a second chance. 3/18/2016 - Received the comment below from the owner who gave a bit of an explanation as to why things may have gone awry at the time of my visit. I'm happy to see the owner will be more involved and pleased that he has taken the time to drop me a note. If he is willing to reach out to me, then I feel that I can do the same and I will give TBS another shot if I find myself out that way.

It was crowded, as we expected, but I called ahead & got on the wait-list. Our wait was less than 20 mins. We were all seated together with croissants & drinks served promptly, but that's where the pleasant experience ended. Our waitress was Miranda & I can't blame her for our poor experience as she worked very hard to serve us. However, it took much too long to serve our food & much of it was cold. To Miranda's credit she apologized several times for the delay. Because of the lack of correct temperature, the food seemed less appealing & flavorless. My husband ate only his croissant & nothing else on his plate. We took his salmon entree & vegetables home to heat up & eat later. I specifically ordered my salmon cooked med-rare but it came out med-well throughout. However, the most frustrating part was when it came time to pay our bill. It was presented on a handheld computer which we have successfully used in the past. But for some unknown reason it kept telling us that it could not accept our payment even before we attempted to use our credit card because of a transaction already started on the central register, or something like that. Miranda could not even explain it. While everyone else had already paid & left we finally got it figured out & completed the transaction. All in all it was a very unpleasant experience but because of previous good experiences we will hope this was a one-off & will not be repeated when we return.
