Just stepping out of the car to smell the smoke wafting from this establishment lets you know that ecstasy in BBQ awaits (Post-Oak, we found out is the key to the smoke). Minutes from the Ft. Worth Stockyards, this location is absolutely beautiful inside and out. We were welcomed by the pit masters on the way to the main entrance to have a quick tour of the open pit and numerous smokers, before we even stepped inside the restaurant proper. "You wanna see what you'll be eating?" It was a mesmerizing and humbling experience to see what these guys do to bring real Texas BBQ to locals and tourists alike. The ordering process is pretty simple by looking at the multiple chalkboards (I'm paraphrasing here): 1) Giddy-up and get in line! 2) Order your sides 3) Choose your meats 4) Enjoy your feast! Local beers and assorted bottled soft drinks are on ice along the queue, where the cashier will gladly pop the tops for ya. Watch the skilled carver slice fresh meats right out of the warmer to your liking and weigh each morsel in front of your starving eyes. Our party of 6 ordered a 3 pound family tray with plenty of sides, and dessert was destroyed Man Vs. Food style in about 30 minutes. All 3 sauces on the table were a dream come true and helped develop the requisite "meat-sweats." Even the "spicy" sauce was just full of flavor instead of tongue-melting heat. Terry Black's - you are the new King of 'Cue for our family. Thanks for an amazing experience and continued success!

So much to choose from! Fatty brisket, pork ribs, both styles of sausages, a d many sides

Honestly, for my first time at Terry Black's barbecue, this was amazing. The food was super good tender fall off the bone and juicy. I didn't even have a tried chewing because it was just that good. I love the turkey and lean brisket. And our people w Honestly, the staff was really helpful and patient in explaining the differences between fatty and brisket, along with all the other cuts. Even though it was packed, the service was fast -- very much an in, eat, and out kind of place. Seeing the pit was a highlight. I even caught sausage that had gone in about an hour and a half earlier, sitting at around 170° and just starting to get color -- real low and slow in action. The only downside for me was the sauces. The spicy BBQ still leaned too sweet. The sides, though, were excellent, and the complimentary bread was a great touch -- I even saw people taking whole loaves to go. The atmosphere was electric, with families everywhere and a really lively, global feel. It is on the pricier side, but honestly feels justified for the quality and experience.

I was not impressed by the alcoholic beverages, especially the black margarita. It was really watery, heavy on the alcohol and not mixed well. The black color was also not appealing. Service and food however were phenomenal. It's very organized. Very casual and busy restaurant. Highly recommend the brisket, Mac n cheese and banana pudding.

Fresh cut and priced by the pound.

Fun, friendly service. Priced by the pound so when you order you let them know what meats you'd like and how much. More expensive than other BBQ places around DFW. Brisket is tender and a little fatty so it comes out super flavorful. Beef ribs have a good seasoning! And they fall off the bone. Cheddar jalapeño sausage also flavorful, but not as juicy as others I'm had more on the lean side, which isn't bad. All of the sides were delicious with good flavors!

I was visiting my fam in Texas. I love barbecue and Terry Black's had always received the best ratings. Now, I know why! Hands down, this was the best barbecue that I've ever had! I went for lunch on a Tuesday and avoided all the long lines. The gentleman behind the counter asked a few questions about my BBQ preferences and began slicing and preparing my amazing lunch plate! I'm sorry, that I didn't capture your name. I appreciate you and you deserved proper recognition. The BBQ was absolutely amazing! I enjoyed Brisket, Spare Ribs and Coleslaw. Everything was absolutely amazing!

Always a fav bbq spot of ours. The brisket is always good. The beef bone is even juicier and fattier. The cream corn is my fav side dish. The Mac and cheese was very good today too. Last time is was a bit dry. Today it was perfect cheese consistency. Everyone in the group enjoyed their bbq. I just wish the pickles/onions/jalapeños could be self serve like at other bbq joints. They are quite stingy on the pickles/onions and jalapeños priced per piece. The bbq sauces are very good. I love the sweet one. It's like a honey mustard base I think.

First time at Terry Black's, and it did not disappoint. This was our first stop upon arrival and I don't know if it was the hunger or just how good the food was, but everything was fire. There was a line, but it moved quickly, and there's plenty of seating both inside and outside. We ordered a little bit of everything to share between three people, which came out to $120+, but it was worth it. FOOD REVIEW Brisket (fatty) - 5/5 Juicy, tender, and packed with smoky flavor. Beef Ribs - 4/5 Not usually my go-to, but the kids really enjoyed them. Jalapeño Sausage - 5/5 A must-try. The flavors came together perfectly--so good and it wad mid-spicy. Mac & Cheese - 4/5 Not my personal favorite, but again, the kids liked it. Cream Corn - 5/5 So good we had to get seconds. Green Beans - 5/5 Really good! Potato Salad - 5/5 Really good! Banana Pudding - 5/5 Another one we went back for, definitely worth it. Cornbread It's in the photo, but we didn't get to try it... the dog beat us to it. The staff was amazing, and even the other patrons dining in were super friendly. I'll definitely be back and next time, I'm taking a frozen brisket home with me. Thank you, Terry Black's, James, and Dakota for an amazing Texas BBQ experience.

Ribs wear to die for bbq was amazing. I wish the sides were more tastier but they were fine nothing amazing. There was a big line and it was packed but the line moved fast. Seating was not available when we got here, you have to move quick to get a table as soon as someone gets up.

Today was an absolute horrible experience from the time we entered the Restaurant until we walked out. We started off by ordering sides and the lady was absolutely rude. I mean disrespectful in every way. We asked if they had baked potatoes. Response was do you see baked potatoes. When we got over to order the meat, we set our tray down so we could read the meat offerings. The lady taking the order "demanded" we move our trays to the other side. Frustrated I explained we couldn't see the menu and therefore couldn't order the meats. The whole experience was handled poorly. When talking with "the Manager" he could tell we were upset by how we were treated and went in defense mode. We left immediately. Terry blacks may have good BBQ but the Fort Worth location has a major customer service problem. No smiles. No warm greetings. Not one friendly person except from the guy outside by the Grills. We drove here From Rhome Texas...good news is Hurtados is right around the corner.

Amazing smoked meats and friendly staff. This place hit a home run! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. Bright and welcoming ambiance. The food was off the charts. Highlights were Mac and Cheese side along with sliced brisket and jalapeño kielbasa. Wow! Go here...and eat!!!

Pinto Beans, Ribs, Jalapeño Sausage, Brisket, Mac & Cheese, Potato Salad, Pickles & Onions, and Cornbread!!!!

My mom and I went to Terry Black's for an early dinner. It was both our first time eating there. We told the lady at the counter close to the door that this was our first time there. She came from behind the counter to explain how to order and explained the menu to us. I thought that was super nice. The restaurant was nice and clean. Plenty of seating inside as well as patio seating. The patio was actually really nice. Now let me tell you about the food! We had pork ribs 10/10, brisket 10/10, jalapeño & cheese sausage 10/10, pinto beans 10/10, potato salad 10/10, Mac & cheese 10/10, cornbread 10/10, but I put the cornbread in the bowl with the pinto beans made the two 20/10, and some tea. I thoroughly enjoyed Terry Black's barbecue. I will definitely be going back.

Hey y'all. Just wannna let you know where to forward my mail cause I ain't leavin! Man. This was far and away the best bbq I have had (aside from that spot in Pearland) in my life. The entire experience makes me wanna sing the Oompa Loompa songs as I dance in the streets with beef tallow smackin to my lips. Man. So yeah. They serve BBQ here and it's obvious that they take it rather seriously. Dude working the fire pit at the smoker nodded to me like I just got off a day long cattle run and in my defense, I do work for a consulting firm. lol! The meat is served by the pound and they have a bunch of sides too!!! I went big big with a half pound of brisket and 3/4 pound of pork ribs. Absolutely delicious and juicy and seasoned to absolute perfection!!! But also I could taste the beef flavor. True good ole cow!!!! Just divine. So yeah. I'm gonna just live here til I can't afford to eat bbq anymore.

Brisket is very good - top25 in state of Texas IMO. Sauce is also good. The prices are quite steep - $30 for 1/2 lb brisket and two sides.

Worth every minute of the wait. This one's climbing my top 50 list faster than a brisket disappears at a family reunion. After one failed mission to Sabar BBQ, where I showed up too late and found an empty pit (and an emptier stomach), I came back like a man on a barbecue pilgrimage. The sun was blazing, the line was growing, and I wasn't about to be left holding nothing but a napkin this time. Pitmaster Zain Shafi runs this blue trailer like a flavor command center. The smell hit me halfway through the line and had me grinning like a kid at the state fair. I made my move when it was my turn, and if you know me, you know lamb is my kryptonite. I ordered the Sichuan Lamb Ribs, then couldn't stop myself from adding brisket and Tandoori Turkey. The sides? Kachumber Salad and Daal Chawaal, because even Uncle Sean needs balance in life. Zain loaded everything up, tossed it all on top of some naan for good measure, and sent me to my table like a champion headed to the winner's circle. The first bite of lamb ribs nearly had me proposing to the pit. Spicy, tender, smoky perfection with a bark that made my heart sing. The brisket was rich and juicy, the turkey came with that tandoori kick that slapped me awake in the best way possible. The sauces just tied the whole thing together like a big barbecue hug. The yogurt mint cilantro sauce was made to cool and lift the brisket and turkey to a whole new level. The red sauce packed a punch and paired with the lamb like it was born for the job. I boxed up some leftovers for my wife, the Side Dish Queen herself, because a man who doesn't bring home naan from Sabar BBQ is a man sleeping on the couch. She confirmed what I already knew: this was next-level barbecue, the kind that earns legends and long lines. Sabar BBQ is only open on weekends, and only fools show up late. I won't make that mistake again. This was stop number 15 on my Texas Monthly Top 50 journey, leaving me with 35 more glorious BBQ pilgrimages ahead before the passport is full and my belt officially waves the white flag. If loving these lamb ribs is wrong, I don't wanna be rib-right.
