I had hoped they had specials for the food was rather pricey. $40+ for a 3 meat place and sides & they charge more for drinks than fast food. Yikes. We went with 2 meat plate, sides and drinks and it was over $32 Considering the cost we split plates to save some $. The brisket and pulled pork were delicious. Came here for a work luncheon. You order at the counter as you enter and they give you a pager to be notified when it's ready. I ordered the two meats platter with pulled pork and Texas style sausage for my meats with the pinto beans and mashed. The pulled pork was seasoned well and moist, the sausage was full of flavor and a nice pop when you bite into it. The pinto beans were very flavorful but the mashed was dry. Went to Heim Barbecue in Fort Worth for a company dinner and had a really good experience. We ordered a big platter with several different meats and sides, and everything was solid. The brisket was definitely on point. It was tender and full of flavor. All the sides were great too, no misses there. I tried their Heim Light Lager and it paired perfectly. It was a good taste but light enough to enjoy with all that BBQ. The staff was also super accommodating, moving tables around to fit our big group without any hassle. Barbecue was something my group and I wanted to have while visiting Fort Worth and we were glad that we found Heim Barbecue. While we had a few other options in mind, Heim was a solid choice due to a few reasons. This location has a large parking lot, a decent sized outdoor patio, a roomy interior, plus bar space. While there was no line out the door on my visit, there was a very steady stream of customers during peak lunch hour. The menu is simple yet abundant in BBQ meats and sides. Having a bar and more alcoholic beverages than other barbecue spots is nice. I like that they have BBQ plates (one, two, or three meat) as well as by-the-pound as a choice...as some places sadly no longer have plates for purchase. Please don't ever take plates off the menu! We had their bacon burnt ends (so soft and flavorful, sweet and smoky, and yes...fatty in a great way), beef brisket (love it moist and the seasoning was delicious), pork ribs (fall off the bone tender and didn't need any BBQ sauce though also very good with it), and sides like cole slaw (A-OK, I'd prefer it slightly more creamy), potato salad (so much yum), fries (very typical), mac n cheese (creamy and tasty), green beans (seasoned well), and onion rings (huge rings of goodness). The original BBQ sauce is my favorite but their spicy one is also good. Ask for the sauces when you pickup your order at the counter (since you get a buzzer while food is being prepared) so you can bring the bottle to your table for use. You don't get to see all the slicing and chopping when you order and you just have to trust the process. Good BBQ for Texas but there are better places in and out of state. They only offer one kind of BBQ sauce which is super sweet with no tangy notes or any spice. The big plus is the meats are not overly smoky like other places and are really juicy. Definitely better than the other location and less crowded. Service feels like any fast food establishment and the people behind the counter keep eye contact to a minimum if any at all. Otherwise, the place is clean and well thought out with the fountain drinks and bar being in the middle of the building. Sitting outside offers plenty of shade and an easy exit once you're done. We ordered the brisket and burnt ends (aka pork belly). Everything was good but the absence of a smoky and/or spicy sauce would've elevated the meal. The green chili mac n' cheese, coleslaw and banana pudding was a delight for sides. Glad there is an alternative to BBQ. I'd leave it on the map for next time. read more

I have heard of Heim BBQ and wanted to try it. I have to say good food but OVERPRICED! I did love their burnt ends. I am an ends fanatic and have tried several places. By far Heim has the best. Not too fatty and well prepared. My husband ordered the two meat platter (includes 2 sides) chopped beef and ribs. He got 3 small ribs and a good amount of beef. I got the meat sampler and a side salad. The sampler consisted of 1 slice of brisket, 4 ribs (their ribs a very small), and 2 burnt ends. As stated before, the food was decent, hubby loved the fried okra. The drinks...overpriced. Hubby got 1 beer ($8.95 reasonably priced). I ordered a frozen margarita with an added raspberry flavor. NOT WORTH THE MONEY SPENT! It had little to no liquor and came in an 11 oz whisky glass for $12.95! And it wasn't Happy Hour! I'm afraid to see the Happy Hour serving if what I received is the regular serving. The final bill was $56 for the food and $21.00 for our drinks. Needless to say, all in all, Heim is decent. For the price, I've had better. The customer service is A+. Will we return, probably not. But I am glad I had the experience. read more

We had just visited the Fort Worth stockyards, so we were hankering for some delicious barbecue. We've heard excellent things about Heim and decided to order a sampler of almost everything they had in stock. The flavor of the barbecue was excellent. What was disappointing was the temperature of the barbecue as well as the temperature of the mac & cheese. The manager was very kind and reimbursed us for half of our meal, and did say that he checked the temperature in all of their drawers, but I still can't go over the fact that the food was not hot at all. When mac & cheese comes out, it should be as hot as molten lava. Most disappointing? The fat inside the regular sausage and the cheese inside the spicy sausage was coagulated when it arrived at our table. Lastly, the barbecue sauce container at our table was clogged up so badly that when we tried to use it, it shot barbecue sauce all over my husband's shirt. Upon entering, there was plenty of seating and you order your food at the counter and pick it up when it's ready. I went with the turkey and got two sides: onion rings and the chile Mac and cheese. The star of the show was definitely the Mac and cheese which had such a unique sauce and a bit of spice from the chiles. The onion rings were alright, and I wish they were a bit crispier. The turkey was pretty good and had a hint of spice which complimented the sweetness from the barbecue sauce pretty well. Overall, it's a decent place if you want to enjoy barbecue! read more

We LOVED Heim bbq. My family and I have visited this location many of times and it's never disappointed. My mother in law got the burger and said it was great, my dad and I both got the two meat plates. The star of the meal really was the bacon burnt ends! Those are sooo good but they do sell out!! We have also tried their beef rib and it's amazing too! My hubby has mentioned that the beef rib is pretty close to Pecan Lodge in Dallas. All of the meats were really good and with the Heim bbq sauce, they were even better. As for the sides...the onion rings are thick cuts and the batter is a little on the thicker side in my opinion. I can only eat one or two before getting full on them. Mac and cheese is sooo good and not spicy even though it has chilies in it. The potato salad and coleslaw are decent. The potato salad has bacon bits in it which definitely do make it taste better. I personally don't love Mayo so dishes like those aren't my favorite in general. We have also gotten the loaded potato skins before and those are amazing. Definitely recommend trying those! Overall, I would recommend Heim to anyone and we often bring guests to this place for bbq! read more

This place is pretty popular so be prepared to have trouble finding a parking spot and you'll have to stand in line. We went on a Saturday around 7. We split a three meat plate. We ordered brisket (they didn't ask if we wanted chopped or sliced), jalapeno cheese sausage and pulled pork with cole slaw (terrible) and potato salad (dry). You have to order beer at tye bar and it seems they have a good selection of draft beer. When I asked if they had any cider beers I was told they were out. Beer was $8 and change for 12 oz. We sat inside and shared a table with a family which made it uncomfortable when it came time for bbq sauce. I just think you can get better at many of the other bbq places in the area. read more
