Order at the counter. If you get a large drink you can bring it back on your next visits. Food is prepared as you order. Find your own seats. There is a ful bar. The fries and ribs are phenomenal.

Chopped Beef sandwich plate, green beans (fantastic) and potato salad.

The food is fantastic. People are very nice and helpful. Best bbq I've had in quite a while. We have been meaning to get there and finally did. They have a pretty nice bar.

Railhead is another Fort Worth's "staple"... or so I was told. Being a staple doesn't mean the food is good though... I felt the meat was dry. I had to counteract this by dousing it with bbq sauce. I think people come here because of nostalgia and a really cold beer.

September 2020? I know I've eaten here several times since then and updated at least once? In Ft Worth for the day,I was headed to Railhead for lunch when I passed Panther City BBQ. For those that don't know,it's purported to be one of the best on the planet and ranked #10 on the Top 50 list I chose to keep going till I got to Railhead for several reasons. You don't have to sell your First born or 2nd mortgage your home to enjoy good BBQ . I know,it's in Vogue to tell your work bros and sis that you're checking off the top 50 list. Now,I'm not suggesting you don't pursue the Ark,but occasionally throw these old guys that built the business of Texas Q tradition a bone and save some money at the same time. Our ribs, turkey, chopped beef, potato salad and French fries today were solid 4 star authentic Texas Q. In addition, I literally saved 1/2 what I'd have spent Boutique Q'n it. So without further ado..... Go!

The food was really good and as you can see generous portions. Service was really friendly and the ambience was casual.

I had heard such good things about railhead. I frequented FTW and every time they said you want good bbq go to railhead or heim. Railhead was closer this night so I checked it out. Was a slow night and maybe this was the main mistake. Got a 2 meat plate so I could try out a couple of things. I am beyond glad I got moist brisket because it was dry, so I can only imagine how the lean was. The ribs were okay, nothing to write home about. The sauce? It's the type I hate most: tastes like Campbell's tomato soup with seasoning. There is a place in Houston with similar sauce and while it's objective, I greatly dislike the sauce. The sides: potato salad was the star of the night. Which sadly isn't saying much. Green beans were pretty limp and yeah. Just not for me. I'm also a bit of a hippy when it comes to the environment and the fact they serve styrofoam trays and plastic cutlery just annoys me. I would think it's less expensive to just buy cafeteria trays and a set of utensils but I also don't run a restaurant so who knows. However, it's incredibly wasteful. So I hate to sound like a negative Nancy, but in a town full of BBQ restaurants I'm sad. Hope it was just an off night for me but yeah.

    Horrible brisket

People should listen to the Yelp score instead of the "propped up" google score. I've been to every bbq joint from bad to the best in Texas and this easily is in the bottom 5 for sure! Locals only you could tell are the ones trying to help with reviews and business overall, I think mainly due to the cheap ice cold beer. I'll give them that, unfortunately that was the best thing there. Guy behind the counter was a smartass to several customers in front of our big party. Not one in our party of 20+ said they'd ever come back and I don't blame them. Get someone who at least knows how to slice a damn brisket against the grain. Flavor of it is the only reason I give 2 stars instead of one. Chewed like leather, sides sucked, ribs 5/10 at best, chicken dry as hell!

This is our favorite barbecue place. Good ribs, ice cold beer, good prices, BUT, they are ALWAYS out of green beans. We tried to order some today at 7pm and the cashier said that they had been out since 4:30pm. So why didn't they make more for the dinner crowd? Every time they are out. Poor management.

We have been to Railhead many times. The barbecue ribs, green beans, and coleslaw are all my favs. The super smoky, flavor, and good portions of ribs for a fair price, brings us back pretty regularly. The restaurant is fit for your cowboy hat and boots, very casual. It's clean and always busy. The staff there is very accommodating even though they are super busy. Today, my ribs were a bit on the fatty side and they were happy to provide some ribs that were more lean, without a fuss. This is a great spot for locals to come or if you're visiting you will not be let down with this Texas barbecue!

    Sloooooow line
    Del B.

So, they were VERY busy on a Tuesday evening around 5:30. Parking lot was full, so we expected to wait in line. There were about 30 people ahead of us and the line was absolutely crawling -- almost stand still. We watched several people waiting for their food and finally figured out that they had only one person taking the orders -- and he was the same guy cutting the brisket and making sandwiches for EVERYONE. We were probably in line for 20 minutes. The food, beef brisket, pork ribs, and sausage were all excellent. Would go 5 stars but for the VERY slow service.

    Freezing Cold Beer
    Ralph B.

I've eaten at this restaurant over 250 times and it remains among my top picks for good Texas BBQ and hands down has the COLDEST BEER I've ever been served. Sure you could spend a LOT more and get better brisket. But for the price when Railhead is having a good day their Q is top notch. The Turkey is always juicy, the green beans are amazingly well seasoned. The sides are all good. Among the best BBQ sauce around (especially since they serve it warm). The jalapeño cheese sausage is killer. Can they have an off day, yes. Every place does... I had was worse brisket at Terry Black's the other day. But at Railhead you'll always get service with a smile, super cold draft beer, and there's a great tree covered patio too. For literally 1/2 the price of the "best" BBQ around Railhead has me coming back month after month for the last 25 years. Thanks Y'al!

They have weekday specials you can't beat! I love getting their fries with grilled onions reminds me of my Grandmas fried potatoes. I always ask for extra pickle spears and it's a well rounded out meal choose brisket, pulled pork, beef it's all good.

Fast service, delicious bbq, ice cold beer, all at amazing prices in Fort Worth. I recommend getting the fried turkey and as many beers as you want! You will see many Fort Worth locals hanging out here - enjoy!

"Sabar BBQ: Where the lamb ribs made me want to high five a stranger."…read more TL;DR: Get there early, order the Sichuan Lamb Ribs, let Zain carve you a plate of happiness, and prepare to have your taste buds do a Texas two-step with Pakistani spices. Worth every minute of the wait. This one's climbing my top 50 list faster than a brisket disappears at a family reunion. After one failed mission to Sabar BBQ, where I showed up too late and found an empty pit (and an emptier stomach), I came back like a man on a barbecue pilgrimage. The sun was blazing, the line was growing, and I wasn't about to be left holding nothing but a napkin this time. Pitmaster Zain Shafi runs this blue trailer like a flavor command center. The smell hit me halfway through the line and had me grinning like a kid at the state fair. I made my move when it was my turn, and if you know me, you know lamb is my kryptonite. I ordered the Sichuan Lamb Ribs, then couldn't stop myself from adding brisket and Tandoori Turkey. The sides? Kachumber Salad and Daal Chawaal, because even Uncle Sean needs balance in life. Zain loaded everything up, tossed it all on top of some naan for good measure, and sent me to my table like a champion headed to the winner's circle. The first bite of lamb ribs nearly had me proposing to the pit. Spicy, tender, smoky perfection with a bark that made my heart sing. The brisket was rich and juicy, the turkey came with that tandoori kick that slapped me awake in the best way possible. The sauces just tied the whole thing together like a big barbecue hug. The yogurt mint cilantro sauce was made to cool and lift the brisket and turkey to a whole new level. The red sauce packed a punch and paired with the lamb like it was born for the job. I boxed up some leftovers for my wife, the Side Dish Queen herself, because a man who doesn't bring home naan from Sabar BBQ is a man sleeping on the couch. She confirmed what I already knew: this was next-level barbecue, the kind that earns legends and long lines. Sabar BBQ is only open on weekends, and only fools show up late. I won't make that mistake again. This was stop number 15 on my Texas Monthly Top 50 journey, leaving me with 35 more glorious BBQ pilgrimages ahead before the passport is full and my belt officially waves the white flag. If loving these lamb ribs is wrong, I don't wanna be rib-right.
