Tried this spot for the first time and I was thoroughly surprised... the few reviews I read raved about the barbecue. I was unimpressed. I figured it would be amazing since the building has been there nearly a hundred years. The brisket sandwich was mediocre and the sides were terrible. Bailey's BBQ is quite literally a "hole in the wall". We almost walked right past it's so small. With the rustic brick facade on the outside, the place screamed real Texas BBQ!! This place is open for one reason. And that it's a 'hole in the wall' BBQ joint that's grandfathered in and handy for the downtown lunch crowd. I ordered the sliced beef sandwich. The bun was so dry that I took one bite of it and just ate the meat after that. The meat tasted like it was baked in the oven. Since Bailey's BBQ was bought by Panther City BBQ last month it sucks! They went up in price by like $3. My $8 chipped beef sandwich is now $12 and is not really chopped and was mostly fat and cold. Do not waste your time or money at this place. So disappointing! read more

Really good mom and pop BBQ joint in the heart of the best town in America. There is usually a special daily. The jalapeño cheddar sausage is quite good. The Waffle House of the BBQ industry. I have been wanting to come here for years and I can finally say I made it and glad I did. The issue is their limited hours Monday through Friday 10:30 am to 3:45 pm with no website . You all know you wish you owned a business that had those hours So I had a day off during the week and found a reason to tell my wife we needed to go to ft. worth so I could just happen to be near this place and said hey lets try this place (she is always game). They had a line to the door (though that is not that long) and the service was great so the line went quick. Some people would say it is cozy inside but I would just say it is small, so very limited seating and with the place being so small everyone can see what you ordered and hear your conversation if you chose to sit inside. I did see some seating outside to the right of the building as well, but I would say you are better off or at least I would be to get it to go. Ok so the waffle house comment, Baileys reminds me of the waffle house, good but not great. So if you do stop by go in with that in mind and you will be fine. read more

If you work in the area and like barbecue, this place may hit the spot. But, after going here a few times, I just wasn't impressed. The meat is usually dry, and the sauce is not that great. It tastes like dressed up ketchup. Don't get me wrong, the barbecue is not bad, it's just not very good. I think they might be resting on the fact that you don't really have any other options for barbecue in downtown Fort Worth and they're located right across the street from the Federal Building. All in all, if you're within walking distance and have a need for barbecue, give them a try. But, if you're no within walking distance, give this place a hard pass. read more

I had the daily special which was spicy pork or chopped brisket sandwich, chips and can of soda for $7.50. I had pork and upgraded to slaw instead of chips for $.50, good stuff.
