Stopped at bullfrog after some hiking in Fort Worth. Boy did it hit the spot. Small dining room and you go through a buffet line where they serve you similarly to most barbecue places. Service was welcoming and friendly. I felt they kind of went above and beyond even though it wasn't table service. Chopped barbecue plate with delicious perfectly fried onion rings and delicious coleslaw. The sliced barbecue plate was exceptional with coleslaw, potato salad, and corn nuggets. Never had corn nuggets before and my wife loved the sweet taste of the fried cream corn. I recommend everything we had except for maybe the potato salad. It was fine, but just not spectacular like the flavor of everything else. read more

I happened to be in Lake Worth recently and saw some great reviews. So thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I gave it a try. When I saw Frito chili pie on the menu, I knew then and there what I was eating. I got there early in the lunch hour and there were only a couple of customers. They dished up a very healthy serving of the Fritos and chili. Then I saw the homemade peach cobbler and knew I had to save room. It was a rainy day so great weather to sit out front in the covered patio. Very good chili pie. The cobbler was equally as good. The bbq on top of the pie was slightly sweet but still good. Definitely a good place to stop in and try. read more

Went there around noon on a Friday. I got the Brisket and 2 sides. My wife got the burger and fries. Washed it down with a beer. Food: so good!! Perfectly smoked brisket and my wife's burger was tasty and juicy. Beers are in an ice chest and wonderfully cold. Bullfrog Grill has all your Texas BBQ favorites. It's not a huge place but I can understand why it is a popular place in Ft Worth. I'm sure people don't come here for the ambiance. It's all about the BBQ and they have great BBQ. I thought their brisket, sausages and pulled pork were excellent. The service was fast and friendly. There isn't a ton of inside seating and the ordering area is a bit cramped but overall I'd for sure come back to Bullfrog BBQ next time I'm in the area. Full disclosure: Our food was so delicious that I forgot to take pictures of it :-D Wow! What a pleasant surprise! Tiny lil' town of Lake Worth, TX has a small spot like this place making some good food. The hubby and I were hungry and did not feel like driving into the 7th street area, so we decided to check out this spot. We were happy we did. We got a large blue cheese burger, a large chopped beef BBQ sandwich and an order of fries. When we pulled up to the restaurant, we noticed a tiny side window that other cars were waiting in. We were tired from working in the yard all day, so the drive through was a plus for us. A very nice young lady (so nice, she got a tip) took our order and let us know that the burger would take a few minutes. When we got home and began eating, we were thrilled. I am guessing that they grind their own meat and/or get the meat from a local spot, because that burger was juicy, tender, and seasoned & cooked perfectly. All of the toppings tasted fresh. The chopped beef sandwich was perfectly tender and perfectly smoked. The fries....., even the fries were crisped to perfection and oh so tasty. There is an inside dining area, as well as a few outdoor benches. There is plenty of parking in the lot. This restaurant looks like it's been around a while, but with food this good, that's no surprise. I'm just happy to have found food this good nearby. Stopped here for lunch while visiting the Fort Worth Nature Preserve and was happy with our choice. My husband was a little disappointed in the fact that the chopped brisket was already prepped in sauce but he got over it when he tasted it. The sides were yummy but beware the baked beans are not the typical baked beans-they have a kick and we liked it. The fries were perfect. The corn on the cob was sweet and juicy. I had the brisket taco and fell in love! The taco was delicious and the bbq sauce made it amazing. The cilantro on the taco and the lime juice made it rise to perfection. I got tired of cooking during this pandemic lockdown so I decided to go for a hamburger. It was the juiciest, tastiest, sloppiest, best in-your-face burger I ever had. When I crave a char-grilled burger this is exactly what I expect and this place blew my mind! It was so darn good, I was still salivating over it a few days later. We have been going to this place for over 20 years, and Ray, the owner, runs an outstanding BBQ place. Our usual stop is for a take-out of ribs, chicken, sausage, sliced top cut beef, potato salad, cole slaw, chili, BBQ beans and cobbler. They even serve super-sized baked potatoes with your choice of meat toppings, brisket tacos and super delicious Frito pie. Their burgers are also terrific, and worth the stop just for them! I went in with my mom and sister and ordered some brisket and was served cold fat and hardly any brisket, found a rock in my fries that I'm pretty sure chipped my tooth. Don't let the look of the building fool you. You have to give this place a try. For a family of 3 it was 42.00. (3 adult meals, 2 cobblers with ice cream, 3 drinks) Husband had the 2 meat plate with ribs and brisket. I stole a rib, they were awesome. He enjoyed it with the potato salad and the beans. I had the large chopped beef sandwich with fries. Son had a small cheeseburger and fries. They do offer a kids plate, but not a kids burger, so we bought the small burger from the regular menu. The Possums are making this a burger destination. One of us had the swiss burger basket, and wouldn't hardly share, it was so good. The fries were superb. The other one of us had the sliced brisket sandwich, which had a beautiful burnt crust with a juicy tender body. For sides we had potato salad (above average, with a bit of spiciness) and pintos (pretty darn good, for beans). The atmosphere is very typical of a BBQ place, but the vibe between the workers is what makes it personal. You can tell they've been working together for a while and can do it with their eyes closed. We followed the advice of some of the other reviewers and ordered the chopped beef sandwich combo and the loaded Frito pie. The Frito pie was delicious. It came with chili, BBQ beans, chopped beef and some sauce. It had a really good BBQ flair I wasn't expecting. The beef sandwich had great flavor, even though the BBQ sauce seemed to be missing a little something. The fries were good, they tasted like actual fries and not something out of a bag.
