The bbq here was delicious. I enjoyed the brisket sandwich, mac and cheese and greens. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful. They have lots of seating at this place. I would come here again.
Great barbecue place in Fort Worth. Limited seating inside, but large outdoor area. You order at the counter, both for food and drinks. Drinks are served quickly, but order your food timely because the line does get long on weekends. By 6:30pm they ran out of the Texas twinkies, which they replaced with a bacon burnt end alternative. The outdoor area wasn't the most clean, had to wipe off the table we sat at.
In my lifelong quest to find the best bbq spot in Texas this spot is tough to beat. Exceptional food, convenient and the price was spot on. We got the Hells Half Acre at around $100 and it could easily feed 6 people. So much food and extremely delicious. There were 3 of us and we barely made a dent. Meats: they were out of the ribs and sausage :( but they substitute with anything but their brisket. We got a double order of their pulled pork and turkey. The meats alone were worth the trip. Sides: we got the Borracho beans and the cream corn. My daughter is a huge fan of their corn so we got 2 of them since the Hells Half Acre comes with 3 sides (and they are huge) Convenience: no 2 hours to wait in line before they open, just show up and order. Usually places like this are a step below but the taste was on point! Sauce: food doesn't need it but boy does that sauce hit. Cons: didn't come with bread and the counter service looked less than thrilled to take orders. Ranking: tied with Hutchins. For context I've been to Franklins, Goldees, LeRoy and Lewis, La Barbeque, Cattleack, Hard 8, Terrys, Pecan Lodge and others in Texas and from an overall experience they don't come close to Panther City. When you don't have to wait in line and the meat is just as good and the sides are better- no brainer!
A former Texas Monthly top 10 spot on a Sunday at 11:30 am had basically no line. How can that be? Inside there is no seating and the outdoor patio is quite filled up. People are parking on side streets all over just trying to get lucky. How is that possible? Panther City BBQ is just efficient. Located just slightly south of downtown Fort Worth, Panther City BBQ was my 31st stamp on my Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ Passport. So much barbecue has been on the board this past year that my palate is just dialed now. I have a few notes of the eats at each spot I go to from my Yelp peers, my friends, and other things I see online, but I did not expect Panther City to have as many options as they did. Their menu, especially on the weekends, is quite expansive. Of course they have all your traditional smoked meats plus smoked bologna and smoked barbacoa and smoked guisada on the weekend. Their BBQ Twists had some crazy options like their Pork Belly Poppers that I had to get. The line moved efficiently as they had two ladies running the register as all the meats were sliced and prepared in the kitchen. They were moving through the line with a speed never seen before at a BBQ joint. My order was small orders of quite a bit of their menu so I had the chance to really try it all. I'll go down the line and share my thoughts on everything: Brisket: Honestly, was kind of dry in my opinion compared to the best and didn't pull me in so much. Probably the worst thing I had here. Pork Spare Ribs: Big ole bone that crumbled with no problem. Extremely tender and heavenly. Beef Garlic Sausage: I am more of a pork sausage guy, but these threw down. They had a back order on their Jalapeño Cheese sausage, so I got a link of this instead. Plenty of flavor and a delight. Smoked Brisket Guisada: If you want a little hair on your chest, order their Guisada and sit out in the Texas heat. That stew had a kick to it. It was flavorful. It was powerful, but I also had generational meat sweats after a few bites. Pork Belly Poppers: I haven't stopped thinking about these. It was a crazy and delicious bite and packed full of flavor. I wish jalapeños weren't as mild as they are right now (thanks A&M), but the mixing of the pork belly with a creamy jalapeño popper was a brilliant creation that felt like a drunk masterpiece I'd put together if I were a pit master. Spicy Smoked Mac & Cheese: A fantastic side with a jalapeño crumble that really wasn't that spicy. It was excellent and a perfect mac sauce, but I just had to share that it really wasn't that spicy. This was a treat of a spot. They're open 5 days a week until 8 PM, which shows they have it down to a science. As we were leaving, the line had popped out the door. Anywhere else that's like an hour wait. Here? It means they're gonna have to wait 10 minutes to order. RIYL: Top tier BBQ without the extensive wait for top tier BBQ.
Food was very flavorful and well seasoned. Mac n Cheese was creamy with just the right amount of spice. Service was spot on for the lunch hour crowd and the line move quickly and with ease.
Had takeaway with a few items. I've eaten there before and enjoyed the BBQ. The takeaway items we picked were ok, but definitely will stick to bbq next time. Was hoping for a baked potato but they were out, so tried a burger. It was OK. Daughter had the chopped brisket sandwich and it was much better. Mac and cheese was very thick and creamy. Staff was very friendly and definitely eat there if you can. I like the patio vibe. Tip- ask for BBQ sauce to go.. we didn't get any.
Stopped by Panther City BBQ and was impressed. The outdoor seating area was a great place to enjoy the meal, especially on a nice day. I liked that they offer some unique Tex-Mex inspired BBQ items in addition to traditional barbecue. The Brisket Elote and the Barbacoa Tacos were excellent. One of the biggest surprises was dessert. The Nutter Butter Cheesecake was something a little different from what you'd typically expect at a BBQ restaurant, and it was definitely worth trying. Overall, great food, a relaxed atmosphere, and some creative menu options that set them apart from other BBQ spots.
Simply a bar that serves bbq, that's it. I'm guessing at one point they really sold craft bbq; today it's more of a bar with a side of bbq. Nothing impressive about the food. I'll give them this "they are much more affordable" but then again I'd rather pay another $20 for great food. Burnt ends inedible (literally burnt), brisket tender but zero flavor of seasoning. Corn was standard street corn that you can get from 10,000 taco shops in town. Lastly the bbq sauce was so overly sweet "like a raspberry chipotle flavor maybe" not our style but that was the flavor of the brisket. Service was made to order. Ambiance was great for the drinking crowd that wanted a side of bbq. Wouldn't return for bbq.
I'm on a quest to try every spot on Texas Monthly's Top 50 BBQ list, and Panther City BBQ in Ft Worth did not let me down! The meat was excellent! Smoky, tender, everything you want in good BBQ. Also, no sauce needed because the flavors shined. The sides were solid too, and the service was great. Definitely earns its spot on the list. Highly recommend if you're in the Ft Worth area!
2026 - Yelp Review #11 Panther Creek BBQ offers smoked meats, sandwiches, tacos, poppers, smoked Mac n cheese, dill potato salad, and creamed corn to name a few. You order and then find seating either indoor or outdoor. Place your table number so it can be seen and your meal will be bought to your table. Everything was delicious and I will be returning to try their tacos. My least favorite menu item was their dill potato salad. Is was to much dill for my liking. Operating Hours Wednesday - Sunday 11 am - 8 pm
What's there to say. Amazing, top notch Texas BBQ. Now it did somewhat lack a bit of the intense smokified bbq flavor you'd come to expect and synonymous with Texas barbecue but not in a bad way. Amazing juicy brisket, and an even better top 5 burger I've ever had - anywhere. As good as Texas barbecue gets.
Best bites: BRISKET! And Mac and cheese. Burnt ends were a bit dry. I did not care for the jalapeño cheese sausage at all...it was very salty! Turkey was moist and flavorful. Ribs were good. Beans and elote were fine! Service was fast. They do run out of food, so get there early!

Wow! These guys go out of their way to be awesome! Was greeted by team that remembers who I am with smiling faces. My Mastercard wasn't working for whatever reason so the nice young lady working the register told me not to worry about it today. I really appreciate that as I'm handicapped, hurting and parked around the block. My card still had a balance of $89 & change so I left my wallet in the car. I soooo appreciate not having to walk back to the car and back in as I don't think my back would have made it. I'll pay it forward next opportunity I'm here and buy someone else's lunch. I appreciate your team always being kind, warm and helpful. Yall Rock! Texas BBQ with Texas hospitality! A-Team! read more

Food was great! Brisket is my personal favorite cut but the meat my group had as a whole was good. What would have made it better is if they would offer smaller portion options. I also liked the cream corn, just wish it had some more thickness to it. Service was quick and nice. Ambiance was fine- loud and dark, but it's a BBQ place with sports so if that's your vibe then go for it! I'd come back! read more

I've been to a lot of the BBQ spots in the Fort Worth area. Panther was highly recommended and suggested to be the top. I went there on a Thursday night for dinner at 5:30. The dinner and service was ok. A lot of the menu was not available which was disappointing. Maybe more would be available at lunch versus early dinner . I went with the brisket and flacos tacos. The brisket was a little dry and lukewarm to cool when it was served. The flacos tacos was a good twist with a cheese crust around the flour tortilla that housed a brisket taco. I had a tab at the bar and after one beer the tap was already dry and they no longer had clean glasses. In all a little disappointing with availability of food and beer. From my experience it is far behind hard eight and Terry Blacks. Hutchins is also much better. read more
Okay! So! I definitely got food poisoning here but it was worth it. The food is delicious. I don't like fat on my brisket but it didn't matter here - it was still that good. The barbecue sauce on the tables is very good and not overwhelming. Just a totally good meal. The Mac and cheese was underwhelming, but let's be honest... you don't come to a place like this for the sides. read more

We visited Texas in August on a BBQ "quest". We hadn't anticipated going to Panther City, until it was recommended to us. OMG! So glad we went! The ribs, pulled pork and sausage were fantastic! Sadly they'd run out of brisket. A surprise highlight was the borracho beans. As a bean snob, I take beans VERY SERIOUSLY. These beans HUMBLED ME!! I now have a higher stander to attain! read more
Walking in and saw the menu board as you walk in go do to the counter and was greeted by the wonderful cashier. We told her we do like spicy but not too much. We were kind of worried about the jalapeño mac & cheese and she said she could remove some of it and we appreciate it. The brisket was moist and so tender. It had a great flavor. The ribs were fall off the bone cooked perfectly and had a great flavor to it as well. The pull pork to me seemed just a tad salty, but it still was good barbecue sauce was good. The mac & cheese was so creamy definitely would get again. The beans had a little kicked to it but oh my they were so delicious.. now the potato salad I wasn't a big fan of it. It was a dill potato salad so to me I felt like it was a little bit too much. I might have just been looking for a subtle taste. And the Customer service there is top-tier the waitress bringing out the food always has a smile on her face the guys cleaning were always smiling holding doors open greeting people and the food was top-notch. Definitely would go again. read more
Hands down the best ribs I've ever had! They were tender, flavorful, and cooked to absolute perfection. The brisket was moist, juicy, and packed with that rich smoky flavor you hope for but don't always get. The rib tips were the real surprise though. Perfectly balance of sweet and savory. The sitting area was very clean, which I always appreciate, and the cashiers answered all my questions with a smile. There's outdoor seating available, which is perfect when the weather's nice, and they offer nightly specials. read more

What a great surprise to find right behind my hotel! This place has a Michelin star for good reason. The staff were more than helpful when ordering. Then the food came out. I ordered a half rack of pork ribs. The serving was huge and it was delicious. My sides were cream corn (non-spicy) and potato salad. The atmosphere was fun and full of Friday excitement. I will go back the next time I am in Fort Worth and I urge you to go as well. read more
First off - the parking sucks in these parts - so either get a ride there or prepare to walk a bit from wherever you managed to find a space. However, once you are there - the BBQ is amazing! We ordered the "cowtown platter" with additional order of ribs plus an extra "flaco taco" for our party of four and we still went home with leftovers. Our order was perfect for us to try all the menu offerings in one sitting and we were all hard pressed to choose our fave option. On a side note, the flaco taco is probably the best version of the combo of brisket and cheese that I've ever tasted and I am going to feebly attempt to recreate it at home as it it now the only way I want it! Lol Beer was cold, tasty and plentiful - I did notice the cocktail menu on the table BUT it is a BBQ joint - and beer and meat is a solid winning combination so why argue! read more
If you're anywhere near Southside Fort Worth and haven't been to Panther City BBQ, you're missing out. This is the best BBQ I've ever had in DFW. I went on a Sunday around 11:45 and there was hardly any wait, which was awesome. The vibes inside were great too. Laid back, welcoming, and just an all around cool spot to hang out and eat. First off, Desiree behind the bar is the best. She's friendly, quick, and makes you feel welcome right away. The margaritas she makes are flat out incredible. Perfect balance, strong but smooth, and honestly some of the best I've had in Fort Worth. Now the food. The pork belly burnt ends were the best I've ever had and it wasn't even close. Perfectly cooked, tender, packed with flavor, and caramelized just right. I would go back for those alone. The brisket was exactly what Texas brisket should be. Great bark, juicy, and full of flavor in every bite. The brisket cream corn was unreal. Creamy with that smoky kick mixed in. The collard greens were seasoned perfectly and actually had depth of flavor, not just heat. The mac and cheese was rich, cheesy, and done right. And I can't forget the banana pudding. Some of the best I've ever had. The perfect way to finish everything off. Every single thing I tried was amazing. It really doesn't get much better in Fort Worth. Between the food and Desiree taking care of the bar, Panther City BBQ is top tier. I will absolutely be going back. read more
Incredible barbecue! Michelin recognized and one taste tells you why. I've eaten a lot of BBQ from many restaurants and this one might be untouchable. First thing to know is parking is a huge challenge. The food is the reason people overlook the Issues. The restaurant is well laid out and the adjacent outdoors covered dining is good. The line out the door is your first hint of greatness awaiting the patient. The two cashiers are quick and move customers efficiently, Not since Li'l Bob's BBQ at the State Fair of Texas have I found an equal to smoked bologna sandwiches! The cut was thick and cooked perfectly. Sides were Mac n cheese and dill potato salad Pictures below . Every bite of these choices was soul satisfying. The menu has so many traditional dishes common to BBQ fare. At my table, plates included brisket, ribs, chicken and wonderful sides. If you are near I -35 / I - 30 area on Hattie St Do yourself a favor- Eat here Soon I highly recommend this restaurant See you there! read more
The bbq was amazing Smokey and juicy. It fell apart under a fork and melted in your mouth. The monster stack is enough for two and the small sides are splittable too. Inside is counter service for ordering. The bar is separate. Splitting up to order will save you from getting your food in the bar line. The vibe is hipster Texas barbecue on a patio. Outside seating was nice a 7pm on a mild Feb. night. read more

It's taken us a long time to get over to try Panther City BBQ, I'm glad we finally did. Mid-afternoon on a Saturday it was slammed and now we know why. BBQ worth telling all your friends about! Everything we had was really good. The smash burger could have been cooked a little longer but the flavor was good. The pastrami sandwich was probably the best thing we ordered and the cowtown platter fed 5 with lots of leftovers to take home. Great flavors on the meats and the smokey aroma even lingered home in our take-out boxes! The patio offers a nice place to eat with picnic tables and enjoy some music. The staff was hardworking and helpful. The main tip is you want to go early in the day before they start selling out of various items. Definitely worth a visit! read more
I ordered the brisket elote, pulled pork, burnt ends, brisket, mac and cheese and banana pudding. The elote was good but a little too spicy for me- anyone who likes spice will love it! My favorites were the pulled pork and the brisket. The burnt ends were a little tough. Mac and cheese was perfect! Banana pudding was fine too. Their bbq sauce is very very vinegar heavy and not sweet at all so definitely keep that in mind if you come. The food came out very quickly. It's small inside as is the parking lot so plan accordingly! read more
I am in a food coma writing this review. We sampled the brisket, sausage, turkey, barbacoa, and ribs. We got the Mac and cheese as a side. Everything was 10/10. The brisket was awesome. I recommend giving the Mac and cheese a stir once you get it so some of the cheesy goodness that settles to the bottom can be redistributed to the top. They had a great outdoor seating area. Half is shaded under a structure. The other half is under some trees in a turf area. Great spot to sit on a nice day! They had ample high chairs which is always nice when eating out with kiddos! The only con was lack of dairy free side options for our son with a diary allergy. This doesn't impact 99.9% of patrons but something to note if you are visiting with a dairy allergy. read more

Yo, pulled up to Panther City, had to answer the call, BBQ dreams on my mind, hungry as hell, y'all. Started with the mac, creamy gold in the bowl, Rich, cheesy comfort food, hit me straight in the soul. Then they dropped the Southside Slammer on the tray, Had me staring at that beast like, "No way." Pork belly stacked high with that smoky bark shine, Brisket so tender, swear it should be a crime. Pulled pork in the mix, bringing flavor in waves, Smoked bologna throwing punches from beyond the grave. All piled on a bun that's soft, buttery, and slick, Every bite hit hard like a Texas barbecue kick. Pickles on the side cutting through all the smoke, Balance so good had me laughing at the joke. Sweet, savory, smoky, every layer got game, Panther City BBQ living up to the name. Fort Worth barbecue, yeah they're setting the pace, Not a single weak link anywhere on the plate. From the mac to the Slammer, every bite was legit, Left full, left happy, and I'd absolutely repeat. Panther City BBQ came with championship-level smoke. The mac & cheese was rich and satisfying, but the Southside Slammer stole the show. Pork belly, pulled pork, brisket, and smoked bologna stacked together sounds excessive--until you take a bite and realize it's barbecue perfection. Easily one of the most memorable sandwiches I've had in Texas. read more

Color me disappointed. We were so excited. Line hanging out the door. Guest saying it's amazing. We get to the front of the line and order the Hell's Half Acre ($115) . We asked for suggestions on sides and the gentleman acts like we weren't even standing there. We get the Mac, corn, and greens. The food comes and it looks amazing. That's about as far as it goes. The pork ribs were from the end of the rack. They were so dry and over cooked that the bone disintegrated in my mouth. Yuck. No meat on the bones. The pork belly was tough that we left some behind on the plate. The fork wouldn't even go in. The sausage was dry and over cooked. Lacking fat and flavor. It also had a mealy texture. Now the pulled pork was absolutely delicious. Turkey was super moist, but the flavor was not good. Husband said brisket was mid at best. The greens were super salty. You can tell they're in the pot cooking down and got over reduced. The Mac and cheese was really dry and thick, and the corn wasn't doing anything for us. Now I did purchase a pork belly popper that was good. Overall for $133.69 we definitely got robbed. Left wanting our money back. We took the leftovers home to our 4 teens and they agreed. read more

First time at Panther City for Father's Day. Came in with high expectations. We arrived around 12:15 or 12:30 and waited around 45 minutes in line. It was not bad and the bar staff were great about taking drink orders while we waited. Once we made it to the counter, we ordered brisket, jalepeno cheddar sausage, pork belly poppers, barbacoa tacos, brisket elotes, and potato salad. The sides were ok, but the meat was terrible. It was dry and not warm. The pork belly was difficult to cut and chew. The brisket, which was ordered moist, seemed like it had been left out for a couple of hours. The sausage was chalky. I was so disappointed. read more

First time trying Texas BBQ. The food was okay overall, but the pork belly was burnt and a little dry. The collard greens were also way too salty, so I couldn't really enjoy them, especially since I have to watch my sodium intake. The ambiance was okay, but I felt like the restaurant could use more indoor seating. Overall, it was an average experience. I was hoping for a better first impression of Texas BBQ. read more
