This is my favorite place to get a barbecue baked potato, their chopped beef that they put on that barbecue is so tasty and I really love their sauce. I was so happy it was close to my school and I could run over there at lunch and pick one up. There were large portions and honestly, I could eat two meals off of them. Highly recommend. It's killing me to give them 2 stars I've been begging my son to go there instead of other places to watch football! Well tonight we went I ordered a baked potato and sliced beef sandwich and did not get to eat the potato because it was so cold didn't even melt the butter when she got the potato out it was already cracked open so I'm sure that's why and the girl working said they didn't have a microwave so I boxed it to take home! My son got the onion rings which are still wonderful and hot that's why I gave 2 stars! Picked up baby back ribs. Got home opened up the black styrofoam box and the ribs looked just like the box! Black! They had excessive stuff on them from the grill and they also looked burnt! I swear they put the worst stuff in the to go orders because this is not the first time this has happened. I called the manager and he was borderline defiant and told me everything they cooked that day looked fine. He wanted to know how many we ate. Yes we had to eat some of them because it's all we had for dinner but they were dry and chewy. I told him I wanted my money back and he said to bring back the ones we didn't eat. He wants me to fight traffic on 287 from Mansfield and drive at least 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back. I said I would be in the next day but the next day I decided it was $35 wasted and I didn't want to waste more time with this manager who obviously doesn't care about satisfied customers. Instead I chose to write this honest review of my experience. As I said this has happened with to go orders before. We will not go here any longer. Goldee's Barbecue at 4645 Dick Price Rd in Kennedale is the best in the area. They are a tiny little joint with very limited hours but they are superior to Colter's. Do yourself a favor and go there! It's amazing that every time we get something to go it is missing something, part of your order, bread, BBQ sauce ect. We call to talk to let them know and get gaslighted. They try to make it our fault that they messed up or left something off. Went to the website to try to contact corp office. There is no contact info. There's nothing wrong with Colter's barbecue. It's kind of middle-of-the-road food you would expect at a chain restaurant. The reason for my review is because of their policy to charge more if you use a credit card. We recently had a get together and bought bbq for a good number of people. The total cost was well over $400. We paid the bill, headed home & then notice the upcharge because we paid with a debit card. We called to find out why we were charged more than the price they told us, and it was at that point we became aware of their policy. We asked if we could return to pay cash to save a few bucks, and were told the transaction was already complete, and they couldn't help us. (We were trying to save the money for a non-profit group.) They have every right to this policy, but I believe people should be aware of it ahead of time.They did show me little stickers that explain the policy, but I think it ought to be mort visible, especially for those with larger orders. read more

They've been awful lately! Incredibly rude at the drive through and closing earlier than their hours state. Tonight they closed at 9 when their door and everywhere else says they close at 10. We were in line before 9, and when we got up to the order box right at 9, the lady snapped, "We're closed. Bye." The car in front of us got to order though. Did not like Colter's BBQ. They have been at this location for many years. And I don't see why. The BBQ brisket was cut paper thin, It had no marbling. It was almost like lunch meat. Dry and cold. The side are nothing special. I have had better. And they do not have corn on the cob. The macaroni had a strange taste. Had to return for some beans. The place was clean service was good. I usually only come here when I have a BOGO dinner free w/ purchase of dinner and 2 drinks. Because buying for two people, and one being a hungry boyfriend gets pretty pricy when you start talking about all different kinds of BBQ meat. LOL Personally, my favorite is the Pulled Pork! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. If you get the dinner of just the pork w/ 2 sides. It's enough for dinner and sometimes a little left over for lunch the next day if you get hungry. ;) I always go around 6:00 ish around dinner time and it's never too busy where you have to wait forever in line, and also they have a drive thru too to make it more convenient for you. read more

Gray dry brisket.stringy ribs. The only good thing is it's not as awful as the other big chain bbq place. It's just not necessary to cook brisket to death or to undercook the underseasoned mushy sausage. As someone who just moved to Texas not long ago and has fallen in love with BBQ, I was extremely disappointed with Colters. My fiancé and I went to try it for potential catering for our wedding and I will definitely say that I would never serve this food to my guests. It's a bad representation of Texas BBQ. The brisket was cold, dry, and super fatty. I had to use a knife to cut it (everyone knows good brisket does not need to be cut with a knife). Also tried the sausage which was decent, nothing special, and the bbq chicken which was absolutely awful. Ate one bite and was done because it was overcooked, dry, and flavorless. the macaroni and cheese was super watery. The rolls here were probably one of the best things about it, along with the green beans. Will not be returning as the food was very mediocre, and overpriced. read more

We had them bring all the meat, sides, drinks and dessert to my moms surprise birthday party and they went above and beyond to make sure we had great food. It arrived on time and was warm. We were regulars at the N Collins location but it closed about a year ago. We decided that we would check out the last one here in Arlington. We've been to this location a few times and were not really fans. Well we've gone from not really fans to anti-fans (I know it's not a word but it makes my point. LOL) The good: the service was good and they were very friendly. The green beans and the potato salad are good but they are from cans and boxes. The bad: the brisket was extremely dry with just no flavor. Most of the sides were not worth eating. I took the macaroni salad back and the server asked why and I said it was not edible.
